Pearl M. Booher
MCVEYTOWN - Pearl M. Booher, 84, of 15 Tammy Trail, McVeytown, died at 7:30 p.m. Friday, April 18, 2003, at William Penn Nursing Home, Lewistown.
Born Nov. 30, 1918, in McVeytown, she was a daughter of the late Howard and Nannie (Moist) Renninger. Her husband, David E. Booher, whom she married April 5, 1945 in Williamsburg, died May 8, 1974.
Surviving are: a stepson, Samuel Booher, Lewistown; a brother, James Renninger, Mt. Union; many nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews and great-great nieces and nephews.
She was a member of the Spring Run Church of the Brethren, McVeytown.
Her funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Robert D. Heath Funeral Home, Mt. Union, with Pastor Sam King officiating. Interment will be in Pine Glen Cemetery, RD1, McVeytown.
Friends may call from 7-9 p.m. this evening and from 9 a.m. until the service time Tuesday at the funeral home.
Rosaline "Rosey" Boonie
Rosaline Baker "Rosey" Boonie, 86, of McClure passed away at 6:22 a.m. Sept. 17, 2003, at Ohesson Manor, where she had been a resident since June 5.
She was born Sept. 14, 1917, in Mifflin County, a daughter of the late Charles H. and Carrie L. (Spigelmyer) Baker. On Dec. 24, 1934, she married Carl W. Boonie, who survives.
She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, McClure, where she taught Sunday School, initiated the quilt and blanket ministry of the church and participated in the Women of the Evangelical Church of America. In 1986, she retired from the former Beaver Shoe Company. She had also worked for the former Standard Shirt Factory and Kirby Mfg. as a seamstress. She was a member of the McClure Women's Club, served as Secretary and the Ladies Auxiliary of the McClure Fire Co. She was proud of her family and enjoyed sewing, crafts, and camping.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by seven children and their spouses, Carol and Gerald Goss; Edward and Carol Boonie; Ned Sr. and Betty Boonie, all of McClure; Ronald and Connie Boonie, Honesdale; Rose and George Snyder, Richfield; Judy and Paul Zieber, Middletown and Lou Ann and John Finizio, Philadelphia; 21 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren; two sisters , Hulda Wright, McClure and Allegra Spigelmyer, Belleville and a brother, Ned Baker, Summerdale.
She was preceded in death by three sisters , Verletta Goss, Pauline Arnold, and a sister in infancy, Marie Baker and four brothers , Charles Baker, Howard Baker, Maxwell Baker, Paul Baker Sr.
Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m. Monday, Sept. 22, at Trinity Lutheran Church with the Rev. Beth Ann Stone officiating. Interment will be in the McClure Union Cemetery.
Friends may call 4-9 p.m. Sunday in the McClure Chapel of Aurand Funeral Homes North Brown Street, where the family will be present 7-9 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the TLC Ministry Fund of the Trinity Lutheran Church, McClure, PA 17841.
Shirley A. Booney
YEAGERTOWN - Shirley A. Booney, 62, of 216 N. Mann Ave., Yeagertown, died at 11:32 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 27, 2003, at Lewistown Hospital.
Born Sept. 5, 1940, in Huntingdon, she was a daughter of the late James and Effie (Johnston) Snyder.
Surviving are four children, James F. Booney, rear 356 S. Wayne St., Lewistown, Mary P. Panunzio, 216 N. Mann Ave., Yeagertown, Carmen L. Booney, 15 E. Garver Drive, Belleville, and Patricia A. Specht, 3342 Old Stage Road, Lewistown; and 14 grandchildren, including Kimbra L. Booney, Media, whom she raised.
She was the last of her immediate family, having been preceded in death by a brother.
She was a homemaker.
A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Union Memorial Gardens, Mifflintown, with Karen McCachren officiating.
Family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Monday at Heller-Hoenstine Funeral Home, Inc., 108 First Ave., Burnham.
M. Pearl Bordell
BELLEVILLE - M. Pearl Bordell, 100, of Valley View Haven, Belleville, formerly of Allensville, died at 7:08 a.m. Saturday Jan. 4, 2003, at Valley View Haven.
Born Sept. 17, 1902, in Allensville, she was a daughter of the late John C. and Jeanette (Carson) King. Her husband, Fred C. Bordell died March 26, 1950.
Surviving are: four children, Mrs. Mildred Wenger, St. Thomas, Mrs. Harold (Phyllis) McCarl, Belleville, Fred C. Bordell, McConnellsburg, and Mrs. Foster (Arlene) Spivey, Allensville; a sister, Mrs. Sandra Bricker, South Mountain; 18 grandchildren, 39 great-grandchildren and 16 great-great grandchildren; and a grandson, Richard Bordell whom she raised.
She was preceded in death by 8 sisters , 3 brothers , 2 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild.
She was a tax collector in Menno Township for 20 years, 1950-70.
She was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Allensville and the Lutheran Church Women.
Her memorial service will be held at the convenience of the family with Rev. Anna Ritter officiating. Interment will be in Allensville Presbyterian Cemetery.

Lucretia Vincent Bossert
ATLANTA, GA -Beloved wife of Jack Bossert; mother of Stanley, J.B., Alex Bossert and Alice Bossert Daniel; Grandmother/G.G. of Shelby Bossert, Blue and Baird Daniel.
Much loved sister of Alice V. Davis and Alexander B. Vincent and many nieces, nephews and their children.
Her legacy is giving with love, honesty and humor to all who knew her. Those who were close to Lucretia will not soon forget her of the joy she brought to our lives. We have been truly blessed by her time with us: As will be her family who preceded her to join their Lord. She was a native of Lewistown.
Lucretia's memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Friday, July 11, at Peachtree Presbyterian Church in Kellett Chapel, Atlanta.
Lucretia and the family requested that in lieu of flowers any remembrances be made to a charity that helps children with cancer to live.
Cremation Society of the South is in charge of arrangements.
John L. Botteicher
LEWISTOWN - John L. Botteicher, 84, a resident of Ohesson Manor Nursing Home, formerly of 126 N. Walnut St., Lewistown, died at 9:35 p.m. Monday, April 21, 2003, at the nursing home.
Born July 11, 1918, in Mifflin County, he was a son of the late Ralph C. and Anna Mary (Weaver) Botteicher. His wife, Alice V. "Bunny" (Miller) Botteicher, died Sept. 6, 1983.
Surviving are: eight children, Mrs. Edward (Mary Elizabeth) Walker, York, Betty Jane "Janie" Wagner and Donald L. Fultz, both of Lewistown, Delores Glant, Harrisburg, Mrs. Harvey C. (Jacqueline) Eckert and Shirley Dumm, both of Lewistown, Donna Robinson, Thompsontown, and Mrs. Richard (Nancy) Wickenheiser, Dover; two sisters , Mrs. John (Amy) Schell and Mrs. Albert (Hilda) Attivo, both of Lewistown; a brother, James E. Botteicher, Arkansas; 22 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Sandra Deckard, two brothers and three grandchildren.
He was employed at American Viscose Corp. and Avtex Fibers as a Powerhouse Operator for 42 years, retiring in 1982.
He was a Seabee in the U.S. Navy during World War II.
He was a member of Glenwood United Methodist Church, Lewistown Moose Lodge 143, American Legion Post 90, and he was a very active member of VFW Post 7011.
His funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Hoenstine Funeral Home, Inc., 75 Logan St., Lewistown, with Rev. D. Gregory Lake officiating. Interment will be in Juniata Memorial Park. military graveside service will be by VFW Post 7011.
Friends may call from 7-9 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

J. William Bowers
PORT ST. LUCIE, FL - James William "Bill" Bowers, 63, of Port St. Lucie, Fl, and formerly of Lewistown and Tewksbury, MA, died Wednesday, Aug. 20, 2003, at St. Lucie Medical Center.
Born. Aug. 26, 1939, in Lewistown, he was the son of the late William A. and Esther (George) Bowers. His wife of 26 years, Frances Bowers of Port St. Lucie, survives.
Also surviving are: a son, William Bowers of New Boston, NH; daughters , Lisa Muse and Kim Winn, both of Londonberry, NH; sisters , Delores Haley and Leone Knepper, both of Reedsville; a brother, David Bowers of Lewistown; and seven grandchildren.
He was a 1957 graduate of Chief Logan High School and a U.S. Air Force veteran.
Prior to his retirement to Port St. Lucie four years ago, he was an electronic technician and retired from ITEK in Massachusetts.
He enjoyed golfing, hunting, boating and fishing. He was a member of the Elks Lodge, National Rifle Association and the Savanna Club Golf Course.
A memorial service was held Friday, Aug. 22, at the Savanna Club Community Center.

Dorothy Pauline 'Dot' Bowersox
LIVERPOOL - Dorothy Pauline "Dot" Bowersox, 75, of RR1 Liverpool, died at 10:05 p.m. Monday, Feb. 24, 2003, at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the Church of Christ in Christian Union, Mt. Pleasant Mills with Pastor Daryl M. Kuhns and Rev. John R. Bowman officiating.

Robert D. Bowersox
LEWISTOWN - Robert D. Bowersox, 58, of Lewistown, died at 7:45 p.m. Wednesday, June 4, 2003, at Lewistown Hospital.
Born Nov. 22, 1944, in Johnson City, NY, he was the son of the late William E. and Florence V. (Dickson) Bowersox. His wife, Margaret "Peg" (Zeigler) Bowersox, whom he married June 29, 1968, survives.
Also surviving are: a daughter, Dianna D. Bowersox, Red Lion; a step-daughter, Gretchen Ann Hunt, Naginey; a niece whom he was raised with, Lorraine Russell, Harrisburg; and two grandchildren.
Prior to his law enforcement career he worked in the Polyester Dept. of the American Viscose Corp., Division of FMC. In Jan. of 1974 he joined the Lewistown Borough Police Dept. & attended Allentown Police Academy and was on the police force for 18 years. He then served as a Sgt. for Mifflin County Regional Police Dept., retiring in 1997. He was elected Mifflin County Sheriff in the 1997 election and began serving Jan. 1998 and was serving his second term.
He was in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam Conflict having served on the USS Essex and then served in the National Guard.
He was a member of Lewistown Pistol Club, Lewistown Moose, American Legion Post 945, Wormleysburg, NRA, Gun-owners Task Force, National Wild Turkey Federation, Tuscarora Forest Property Owners, a 4H volunteer, a Cops for Kids Volunteer, a member of the PA Sheriffs Assoc. and was a certified safety firearms instructor. He was an avid pistol marksman, hunter and outdoorsman.
A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Heller-Hoenstine Woodlawn Funeral Home, 200 N. Main St., Lewistown, with Rev. Darvin Donahey officiating. Interment will be in Juniata Memorial Park Cemetery.
There will be no viewing, however, family will receive friends from 10 a.m. Saturday until the service time at the funeral home.

Charles E. Boyden Sr.
GRANVILLE - Charles E. Boyden, Sr., 58, of 371 Granville Rd., Granville, died at 9:50 a.m. Saturday, March 8, 2003, at James E. Vanzandt VA Medical Center, Altoona.
Born June 17, 1944, in Cleveland, OH, he was a son of the late James and Margaret (Meath) Boyden. His wife, Jacqueline (Foltz) Boyden, survives.
Also surviving are: three children, Leslie (Boyden) Cruey, Middleburg, Chris Boyden, and Charles E. "Chip" Boyden, Jr., both of Granville; a brother, Bruce Boyden, and a sister, Brenda Zeigler, both of Cleveland, OH; and seven grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a sister.
He was a former prison guard at Huntingdon.
He was a Vietnam Veteran, serving eight years in the U.S. Navy and twelve years in the U.S. Army.
He attended Granville United Methodist Church. He was a member of Lewistown Lodge #203 F&AM, Harrisburg Consistory, Lewistown Moose Lodge #143, and American Legion Post #90, Lewistown.
He loved his family gatherings, hunting and fishing.
His funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday at Heller-Hoenstine Woodlawn Funeral Home, Inc., 200 N. Main St., Lewistown, with Rev. Mark S. Brower officiating. Interment will be in Juniata Memorial Park. military graveside rites will be by Lewistown VFW Post 7011.

Arthur W. 'Art' Brackbill
MIFFLINTOWN - Arthur W. "Art" Brackbill, 72, of RR3, Box 600, Mifflintown and formerly of Port Royal, died at 12:57 p.m. Wednesday, May 7, 2003, at Lewistown Hospital.
Born June 21, 1929, in Port Royal, he was a son of the late Jesse W. and Della R. (Swartz) Brackbill. His wife, Hazel M. (Smith) Brackbill, survives.
Also surviving are: two daughters and three sons , Mrs. Scott (Sharon A.) Kint, Arch Rock, Victoria J. Kilgore, Airville, Douglas A. Brackbill, HC67 Mifflin, Bryan K. Brackbill, RR3 Mifflintown and Robert Wright, Mifflintown; one brother and two sisters , Otho C. Brackbill, RR1 Port Royal, Mrs. John (Jessie) Fairman, RR3 Mifflintown and Mrs. Donald (Alma) Husler, Mifflintown; and 11 grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one brother, Richard Brackbill, and two sisters , Violet Van Sickle and Adrienne E. Wright.
He was a construction worker and stone mason. He was also an avid hunter, trapper and fisherman. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korea.
Graveside services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the New Church Hill Cemetery, Port Royal, with the Rev. M. Eugene Heidler officiating and full military graveside services by the Juniata County Veterans Council.
Following the graveside service, a memorial service will be held at 11:30 a.m. Saturday at the Port Royal Lions Park. There will be no viewing.
