Terry L. Bagshaw
HUNTINGDON - Terry L. Bagshaw, 45, of RR2, Box 161, Huntingdon, (McAlevy's Fort), died at 12:07 a.m. Saturday, March 22, 2003, at Shady Side Hospital, Pittsburgh.
Born Oct. 30, 1957, in Lewistown, he was a son of Sam and Betty Ann (Wilson) Bagshaw, RR2 Box 161, Huntingdon.
Surviving are: a brother, Gary D. Bagshaw, Yeagertown; paternal grandmother, Ida Bagshaw, Gilbert, AZ; maternal grandfather, Theodore "Bubby" Wilson, RR2 Huntingdon; and two nieces, Samantha Bagshaw and Shannon Bagshaw, Winchester, VA.
He graduated from Huntingdon Area High School, Class of 1975.
He was a self-employed businessman. Operated The Full Line Up: Sports Cards Memorabilia, Huntingdon. He played for Huntingdon Little League, Teener League and City League Baseball. He was an avid sports fan.
He was a charter member of McAlevy's Fort Lions Club. He attended St. Stephens Lutheran Church.
His funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Stephens Lutheran Church, McAlevy's Fort, with Rev. Robert L. Rohrbaugh officiating. Interment will be in St. Stephens Lutheran Cemetery.

Helen L. Bailor
LEWISTOWN - Helen L. Bailor, 68, of 602 W. Fifth St., Lewistown, died at 3:30 a.m. Friday, March 28, 2003, at Meadville Medical Center.
Born July 19, 1934, in Lewistown, she was a daughter of the late Ira F. Hill and Alice M. (Yetter) Hill Sellers and the step-daughter of the late William R. Sellers Sr. Her husband, Robert W. Bailor, whom she married on Dec. 25, 1960, survives.
Also surviving are a daughter, Julia Ann Hoy, 124 Shaw Ave.; four brothers and a sister, Howard F. Hill, 236 W. Fifth St., Alice M. Bair, 119 N. Walnut St., Burnham, William R. Sellers Jr., Newport News, VA, James E. Sellers Sr., 913 W. Sixth St., and Milton L. Sellers, 321 S. Spruce St.; and two grandsons.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Wanda B. Hill Greenaway.
She was a homemaker.
She was a life member of First Church of the Brethren and a member of the Builders Sunday School Class.
A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Maitland Church of the Brethren Cemetery with Rev. Douglas D. Sherlock Jr. officiating.

Edward I. Bair
LEWISTOWN - Edward I. Bair, 82, of 606 S. Grand St., Lewistown, died at 11:35 a.m. Thursday, April 3, 2003, at Lewistown Hospital.
Born March 7, 1921, in Yeagertown, he was a son of the late Clarence and Nettie (Bowersox) Bair. His wife, Patsy Hall, whom he married in 1946, survives.
Also surviving are: a son, Rick Bair, Trumansburg, NY; a daughter, Susan Burns, Reedsville; a brother, Pete Bair, California; a sister, Betty Harshberger, Yeagertown; and 4 grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by 3 brothers and a sister.
He was an Automotive Supply Sales man.
He served with India Bruma China Central in the U.S. Army during World War II.
He was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Lewistown and sang with the choir. He was a member of Masonic Lodge #203, Lewistown and F&AM of Lewistown, the Barber Shop SPEBSQSA, the Fly Boys Club, and he was a Nittany Lion fan.
His memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. John's Lutheran Church with Rev. Gerald Krum officiating. Interment will be in Juniata Memorial Park.
Friends may call from 10 a.m. until the time of the service Saturday at the church.

Jacob 'Ted' Baker
LEWISTOWN - Jacob "Ted" Baker, 78, of 1931 Route 522 North, Lewistown, died at 7:05 a.m. Jan. 8, 2003, at Lewistown Hospital.
Born June 11, 1924, in McClure, he was a son of the late Jacob A. and Katie (Lose) Baker. His wife, Shirley L. (Bedelyon) Baker, whom he married Feb. 18, 1948, survives.
Also surviving are: two daughters , Mrs. Darwin (Deborah) Rowe, Lewistown, and Mrs. Joseph (Carolyn) Wray, McClure; a son, Kevin T. Baker, Lewistown; four brothers and sisters , Victor Baker, SanLeandro, CA, Cyril Baker, Reedsville, Gladys Wagner, Orlando, FL, and Gale Baker, Lewistown; four grandchildren, Candice Daily, Darren Rowe, Matthew Wray, and Bradley Wray; and a great-grandson, Michael Daily III.
He was preceded in death by two sisters , Helen Laub and Pauline Reigle.
He was a graduate of McClure High School, Class of 1942.
He was a steelworker at Standard Steel in machine shop 1, retiring Nov. 1, 1986, after 23 years of service.
He was a member of Glenwood United Methodist Church and attended Paintersville CMA.
He was a member of Mt. Dale Hunting Camp, Snyder County, A.C.T.W.U. Retirees, Seven Mountains Dulcimer Society, Lewistown, and the Mens Sunday School Class of the church.
He enjoyed hunting and fishing, woodworking and making musical instruments.
His funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Heller-Hoenstine Burnham Funeral Home, Inc., 108 First Ave., Burnham with Rev. George H. Mark officiating. Interment will be in Juniata Memorial Park.

Hilda S. Ballentine
LEWISTOWN - Hilda S. Ballentine, 86, of 5932 State Rt. 103 N. Lewistown, died at 11:50 a.m. Tuesday, April 15, 2003, at Ohesson Manor.
Born March 10, 1917, in Chester, she was a daughter of the late Charles and Pearl (Taylor) Simpson. Her husband, Bruce "Buster" Ballentine, died 1971.
Surviving are: a daughter, Sue Ellen Ballentine, Lewistown; two granddaughters, Holly and Heather; and two great-granddaughters.
She was preceded in death by a brother and a sister.
She was a member of Grove Memorial United Methodist Church, Lewistown.
Her funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Barr Funeral Home, Inc., 120 Logan St., Lewistown, with Rev. D. Gregory Lake officiating. Interment will be in Lind Memorial Cemetery.

Helen Love Bard
MT. UNION - Helen Love Bard, 76, died unexpectedly of natural causes late Monday evening, June 2, 2003, at her Germany Valley Home, Mt. Union, RR1.
Born Helen Louise Brownwell on May 1, 1927, in Lewistown, she was the daughter of the late Andrew Sherman and Rachel Frances (Davis) Brownwell. She married Donald R. Love on Dec. 13, 1947, and the young couple established their home at his family farm in Germany Valley where they reared seven children. Her husband preceded her in death on Feb. 25, 1976. She was united in marriage four years later to H. Fred Bard, who survives at their home. The couple had marked their 23rd wedding anniversary May 30.
Surviving in addition to her husband are: children, Janice "Jenny" Lane and husband, Leslie, Huntingdon, Bonnie Blair and husband, Ronald Sr., Mt. Union, Sandra Hunter and husband, James, Lititz, Mary Becky, Port Orange, FL, Sally Yoder and husband, Dennis, Allensville, Donald R. Love Jr. and wife, Natalie, Star Route, Huntingdon, and Patricia Bard and husband, Sheldon, Erlanger, KY; a step-daughter, Annie Bowersox, Newton Hamilton; two sisters , Ruth Parson and Arlene Henry, both of Lewistown; 17 grandchildren, five step-grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and a number of step-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by the following brothers and sisters : Bertha Swartz, Evelyn Brownwell, Russell Brownwell, Andy Brownwell, Violet Brownwell, and twin brothers , Robert and Charles, who died at birth.
She accepted the Lord when she was 14 years old at the Salvation Army Sunday School. She regularly attended Cedar Crest-Lucy Furnace Chapel, Mt. Union, RR1.
She was a 1945 graduate of Lewistown High School. She had worked at American Viscose Corp. for a short time.
After her marriage, she devoted her life to her family and faith. She was an avid gardener, she could often be found in the yard tending the flowers.
Funeral services celebrating her life will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Robert D. Heath Funeral Home, 61 E. Shirley St., Mt. Union, with Pastor Jeff Winstead officiating. Interment will be in Haven Rest Memorial Park, Shirleysburg, RR1.
Friends will be received from 7-9 p.m. today and from 9 a.m. until the service time Saturday at the funeral home.

Alvin E. Barger
MCVEYTOWN - Alvin E. Barger, 81, of U.S. Hwy 522 South, McVeytown (Strodes Mills), died at 8 a.m. Monday, Jan. 13, 2003, at his home.
Born June 4, 1921, in Milroy, he was a son of the late Alfred and Rhoda (Dobson) Barger Sr. His wife, Thelma (Burnhiemer) Barger, preceded him in death on July 25, 1996.
Surviving are a son, Elwood D. Barger, McVeytown; a brother, Alfred Barger Jr, McVeytown; and seven grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son, Ramon P. Barger; and two brothers , Raymond Dobson and Charles Barger.
He was a World War II veteran of the U.S. Army, having served as a gunner with Battery B of the 108th Artillery Battalion in the European Theatre. He received five Bronze Stars and a Bronze Arrowhead. He also served in the Civilian Conservation Corps in 1938.
He retired from Standard Steel, Burnham, in 1983, with 31 years of service.
He was a member of the Spring Run Church of the Brethren, McVeytown, and was a CB radio buff.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the Harshbarger Funeral Home, 3 S. Market St., McVeytown, with Rev. Jerry Lee Miller officiating. Interment will be in Spring Run Cemetery.

Glenn N. Barger
LEWISTOWN - Glenn N. Barger, 95, a resident of Locust Grove Retirement Village, formerly of 21 W. Fourth St., Lewistown, died at 11:30 a.m. Friday, Feb. 28, 2003, at the village.
Born Dec. 25, 1907, in Yeagertown, he was a son of the late George and Eva (Close) Barger. His wife, Mary Barger, preceded him in death on June 18, 1994.
Surviving are two daughters , Mrs. Boyd (Lorraine) Aurand, Ferguson Valley Road, Lewistown, and Glenda Bricker, Red Lion; eight grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.
He was the last of his immediate family having been preceded in death by a daughter and two brothers .
He was a foreman at American Viscose Corp., Division FMC, retiring in 1972 with 48 years of service.
He was a member of FMC Avisco 25 Year Club, Pensioners Club and the Lewistown Moose Lodge.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. today at Heller-Hoenstine Woodlawn Funeral Home, 200 N. Main St., Lewistown, with Pastor Mark Hill officiating. Interment will be in Yeagertown Lutheran Cemetery.
Family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home.

Marjorie L. Barger
LEWISTOWN - Marjorie L. Barger, 74, of 612 Harvard St., Lewistown, died at 6:14 p.m. Wednesday, May 14, 2003, at Lewistown Hospital.
Born March 10, 1929, in Lewistown, she was a daughter of the late Carl and Flo (Shotzberger) Wagner. Her husband, Fred R. Barger, died March 16, 1992.
Surviving are: two children, Mrs. John (Cynthia) Vincenti, State College, and Steven F. Barger and wife Mary, Lewistown; three sisters , Mrs. William (Betty) Condron and Mrs. John (Judy) Alexander, both of Lewistown, and Mrs. Jonathan (Beatrice) Boyer, Port Royal; a brother, Carl William Wagner, Florida; a grandson, S. Matthew Barger and wife Holli; a step-granddaughter, Lisa Vincenti; four great-grandchildren, Seth, Christopher, Drew and Sydnie Barger.
She was preceded in death by: two grandsons, Nicholas W. Barger and an infant grandson; and a brother, David Lee Wagner.
She was a graduate of Lewistown High School, Class of 1947.
She was a homemaker.
She was a member of Trinity United Church of Christ for over 50 years. She was a member of Women of the Moose Ch. 212, Lewistown, having held various offices. She was a church council member, church elder and a member of class #12 of the Sunday School.
Her funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Trinity United Church of Christ, with Rev. Dean M. Bobb officiating. Private interment will be in Lind Memorial Cemetery.

Anthony Barnes Jr.
Anthony Barnes Jr., 25, of 31 Cedar View, Mifflintown, died at Saturday, Aug. 9, 2003, in a traffic accident in Sannett Township, Franklin County.
Born Jan. 28, 1978, in Portsmouth, VA, he was the son of Marylin Barnes and Anthony Barnes Sr. of Norfolk, VA.
Surviving are: wife, Johanna Barnes; two daughters , Jaleika and Ashanti Barnes; a brother; and a host of loving relatives and close friends.
He worked for Treen Box and Pallet Corp., Mifflintown.
A memorial service will be held at noon Saturday at the Graves Funeral Home, Norfolk, VA.
