Audrey L. Allison
ALLENSVILLE - Audrey L. Allison, 86, of 35 Huey St., Allensville, died at 12:28 a.m. Tuesday, March 25, 2003, at Beverly Healthcare / William Penn, Lewistown.
Born March 18, 1917, in Altoona, she was a daughter of the late Harry C. and Katherine J. (Ehrenfeld) Aurandt. Her husband, J. Samuel Allison, whom she married March 20, 1943, survives.
Also surviving are: two sons , Richard S. Allison, Zebulon, NC, and David H. Allison, Oakville, Ontario, Canada; a brother, Alva S. Aurandt, Sun City, AZ; and three grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Donald Aurandt in 1980.
She retired as a school teacher in 1975 from Mifflin County School District. She taught Latin, English and Math.
She was a member of Allensville Presbyterian Church, she was an elder and member of Willing Workers Sunday School Class, and a Sunday School teacher. She served as Township Auditor, a member of Mifflin County Association of School Retirees, NEA, PSEA, a former member of Mifflin County Library Board, Kishacoquillas Valley Historical Society, and former member of Belleville Civic Club.
Her funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Allensville Presbyterian Church, Allensville with Rev. Geoffrey Huish officiating. Interment will be in Allensville Presbyterian Cemetery.
Friends may call from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service at the church.

Maude M. Amey
RICHFIELD - Maude M. Amey, 92, formerly of RR1 McAlisterville, she had resided at her daughter's home in RR1 Richfield for two years, died at 3:50 a.m. Tuesday, March 25, 2003, at the Zendt Home, where she had been a resident since Feb. 28, 2003.
Born Feb. 2, 1911, in Woodbury Township, Blair County, she was a daughter of the late Adam and Ella (Zimmerman) Varner. Her husband, Russell B. Amey, preceded her in death May 16, 1974.
Surviving are: a daughter, Mrs. Samuel P. (Faye) Maneval, RR1 Richfield; four grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
She was the last of her immediate family, having been preceded in death by a brother, Henry Varner.
She was a member of St. John's United Methodist Church, RR1 McAlisterville.
She was a homemaker. She enjoyed reading the Bible, gardening and doing puzzle books.
Her funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday from the McAlisterville Chapel of Brown Funeral Homes, Inc., 16 Westfall St., McAlisterville with Rev. Ronald E. Landis and Rev. Brittin F. Stimeling officiating. Interment will be in St. John's United Methodist Cemetery, RR1 McAlisterville.

J. Russell 'Kit' Amig
MIFFLINTOWN - J. Russell 'Kit' Amig, 91, of Mifflintown, died at 3:55 a.m. Tuesday, April 22, 2003, at Lewistown Hospital.
Born July 25, 1911, in Beale Township, Juniata County, he was the son of the late Harrison and Mabel (Renninger) Amig. His wife, Esther (Weikel) Amig, whom he married Jan. 1, 1937, preceded him in death Feb. 2, 1993.
Surviving are: two daughters , Mrs. Edward D. (Joyce A.) Huntsberger, Palatka, FL and Mrs. Richard M. (Carole A.) Nace, RR4 Mifflintown; a sister, Helen A. Maurer, RR1 Mifflintown; seven grandchildren, Laurie Knight, Tim Kepner, Heidi Holley, David Huntsberger, Ted Kepner, Jennifer Fulkroad and Valerie Squires; and nine great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Helen Amig Kepner on Aug. 26, 1965, and a brother, Andrew B. Amig.
He had served as a rural mail carrier for the U.S. Postal Service, retiring April 30, 1968, as the Postmaster of the Mifflintown Post Office.
He was a graduate of the Mifflintown High School and a member of the Westminster United Presbyterian Church, Mifflintown.
He was an avid hunter and enjoyed harness horse racing.
Graveside services will be at 11:30 a.m. Friday from the Westminster Presbyterian Cemetery, Mifflintown, with Pastor David A. Cook officiating.
Visitation will be held from 7-9 p.m. Thursday from the Mifflintown Chapel of Brown Funeral Homes, Inc., 100 Bridge St., Mifflintown, however, the casket will be closed.

Thelma M. 'Sis' Ammerman
LEWISTOWN - Thelma M. "Sis" Ammerman, 91, a resident of Beverly Healthcare-William Penn, formerly of 404 S. Main St., Lewistown, died at 3:55 a.m. Saturday, June 7, 2003, at the nursing home.
Born Dec. 5, 1911, in Lewistown, she was a daughter of the late John and Anna (Fite) Mullen. Her husband, Stewart L. Ammerman, died Jan. 5, 1985.
Surviving are: a niece, Mrs. Larry V. (Bonnie) Harbst, 524 Harvard St.; a great-niece, Jill Harbst, Lewistown; and a niece whom she helped raise, Agnes (Fite) Baker.
She was the last of her immediate family, having been preceded in death by a sister, Helen Brininger.
Early in life she was employed at American Viscose Corp. for 15 years. She owned and operated Thelma's Beauty Shop in Lewistown for 39 years, closing in 1984.
She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church.
She enjoyed hand crafting Christmas ornaments and knitting. She loved animals, especially her three cats and enjoyed traveling.
Her funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Heller-Hoenstine Woodlawn Funeral Home, with Rev. Gerald A. Krum officiating. Interment will be in Lind Memorial Cemetery.

Elma F. Andrews
REEDSVILLE - Elma F. Andrews, 82, of 4301 US Highway 322, Reedsville, died at 12:07 p.m. Sunday, June 8, 2003, at Ohesson Manor Nursing Home.
Born Dec. 4, 1920, in Lewistown, she was a daughter of the late Albert James and Lottie (Browand) Smith. Her husband, Aaron F. Andrews, Sr. whom she married June 1941, survives.
Also surviving are: a son, Aaron F. Andrews, Jr., Mifflintown; a daughter, Mrs. Stephen (Julie) Bearley, Big Ridge Rd., Lewistown; three grandchildren, Jennifer Shetrom, Jacksonville, FL, Jill and Joshua Bearley, both of Lewistown; a niece, Madeline Williams Thompson and husband, Fred; a nephew, James A. Wagner and wife, Donna.
She was the last of her immediate family, having been preceded in death by two sisters , Madeline Smith Williams and twin sister, Thelma A. Wagner.
Early in life she was employed by Bell Telephone and American Viscose Corp., and later for Wilson's Jewelry and Mussettia's Dress Shop.
She was a member of Evangelical Lutheran Church, Reedsville.
Private graveside service will be held in Juniata Memorial Park Cemetery with Rev. Kenneth Longfield officiating.

Bonnie K. Armstrong
BURNHAM - Bonnie K. Armstrong, 61, of 810 E. Freedom Ave., Burnham, died at 2:42 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 9, 2003, at Hershey Medical Center.
Born Jan. 16, 1942, in Lewistown, she was a daughter of Charlotte (Young) Powell, Belleville and the late Arthur W. Powell. Survived by step- Father , Fern E. Russler and her husband, Gary L. Armstrong, whom she married Nov. 14, 1959.
Also surviving are: three children, Lori D. Page, Reedsville, Richard S. Armstrong and wife, Rhonda, Lewistown, Lisa Johnson and husband Matthew, Jamestown; a brother, Charles "Bud" Powell, Suisun City, CA; a sister, Connie Loudenslager and husband Stephen, Mifflin; and five grandchildren, Mrs. Benjamin (Kendra) Brubaker, Jessica A. Fultz, Shawn R. Armstrong, Kelly C. Johnson, and Rachel L. Johnson.
She was a department supervisor at K-Mart from 1977-82, and she was a salesperson at Fashion Bug, Burnham for 20 years from 1983-present.
She was a Lutheran by faith.
Her funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Heller-Hoenstine Burnham Funeral Home, 108 First Ave., Burnham with Rev. Rosalie N. Smith officiating. Interment will be in Belleville Lutheran Cemetery.

Raymond S. 'Pete' Arnold
MCALISTERVILLE - Raymond S. "Pete" Arnold, 88, of RR1 McAlisterville, died at 4:10 a.m. Friday, May 30, 2003, at Brookline Manor, RR1 Mifflintown.
Born March 13, 1915, in Delaware Township, Juniata County, he was a son of the late Harry S. and Ida (Sausman) Arnold. His wife, Edna C. (Naylor) Arnold, whom he married on Dec. 3, 1938, preceded him in death on March 4, 2001.
Surviving are two sons , Paul A. Arnold and wife, Karen, of Cocolamus and Dale R. Arnold of RR1 McAlisterville; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
He was the last of his immediate family, having been preceded in death by three brothers , four sisters and son, Fred L. Arnold.
He was a member of Brown's United Methodist Church, RR2 McAlisterville. He served as a director of Juniata Mutual Insurance, McAlisterville, for more than 30 years and also served as Fayette Township supervisor.
He was a dairy farmer all his life, having farmed the family farm.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Monday from the McAlisterville Chapel of Brown Funeral Homes Inc., 16 Westfall St., with Rev. Ronald E. Landis officiating. Interment will follow in East Salem Cemetery, RR1 Thompsontown.
A viewing will be held 4-9 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home, where the family be present 7-9 p.m.

Stella L. 'Peg' Arnold
MIFFLIN - Stella L. "Peg" Arnold, Mifflin, died at 10:48 a.m. Monday, April 21, 2003, at Lewistown Hospital.
Born Jan. 12, 1931, in Fermanagh Twp., Juniata County, she was a daughter of the late Floyd and Elizabeth (Clark) Britcher. Her husband, Leroy H. Arnold, preceded her in death on March 5, 1982.
Surviving are: three sons , Scott Arnold and his wife, Alice, RR4 Mifflintown, Ronald H. Arnold and his wife, Yvonne, Port Royal, and Thomas F. Arnold, Middleburg; two brothers , Jay Britcher and Thomas Britcher, both of RR1 Mifflintown; four sisters , Anna Fry, Stowe, Hazel Rickenbaugh, McAlisterville, Alma Wynning, Boyertown, and Jane Cleck, Mifflintown; four grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.
She was preceded in death by three brothers , James Britcher, Earl Britcher and Clark Britcher, and four sisters , Kathaleen Worrall, Nora Williams, Pauline Britcher and Helen Britcher.
Until her retirement, she worked as the Produce Manager for the IGA Foodliner, Mifflintown.
She was a member of the Westminster United Presbyterian Church, Mifflintown, a member of the Crawford-Brubaker VFW Post 5863, Mifflintown and the American Legion Post 298, Mifflintown.
She was an avid NASCAR fan and a collector of Dale Earnhardt memorabilia.
Her funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Thursday from the Mifflintown Chapel of Brown Funeral Homes, Inc., 100 Bridge St., Mifflintown, with Pastor David A. Cook officiating. Interment will be in Westminster Presbyterian Cemetery, Mifflintown.

Annabelle L. Aumiller
BEAVERTOWN - Annabelle L. Aumiller, 87, of RR1 Beavertown passed away at 3 a.m. March 6, 2003, at Brookline Manor, Mifflintown, where she had been a resident since 1998.
She was born May 17, 1915, in Beaver Springs, a daughter of the late John J. and Verna (Treaster) Beaver. On Aug. 24, 1935, she married the late Greene L. Aumiller, who passed away June 24, 1997.
She was a member of Grace United Church of Christ, Troxelville. In 1976, she retired from the former Saylor's Shirt Factory where she was a seamstress for 22 years. Earlier in life she had been employed by the former David Manufacturing. She graduated from Beaver Vocational High School in 1932. She enjoyed cooking, sewing and baking.
She is survived by three daughters and sons -in-law: Delores Ellen "Dee" and William "Bill" Wilson of RR1 Beavertown; Linda Lee Wagner of Wayne; and Sandra Darlene and Fred Adams of RR2 McClure; a son and daughter-in-law, Jerre "Stecker" and Karen Aumiller of RR1 Beavertown; 12 grandchildren, Suellen, Joy, Richard Jr., Lisa, Shawn, Trent, Kyle, Bret, Alison, Seth, John and Jenna; 12 great-grandchildren, Kelly, Lindsey, Archie, Gerald, Carl Jr., Travis, Jonathan, Julia, Cody, Wyatt, Luke and Cole; and a sister, Charlotte Wiand of Beaver Springs.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Louise Marie Jarrett in 1986.
Her funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at Grace United Church of Christ, Troxelville, by Pastor Nancy Moyer. Interment will be in the Troxelville Union Cemetery.

Richard Franklin Aurich
SMYRNA, DE - Richard Franklin Aurich, 80, of Smyrna, Delaware, died at his home due to cancer.
Born Feb. 2, 1923, in Altoona, he was a son of the late George Michael and Odelia Marie Aurich. His wife, Doris Aurich, whom he was married to for 53 years, survives.
Also surviving are: two sisters , Leona Grant, Virginia, and Katherine Kozicki, Massachusetts.
He was preceded in death by two sisters and four brothers .
He was a chemist for the licensing division of Joseph Bancroft and sons in Wilmington, DE, after retiring he was a resource engineer in the division of Environmental Control for the State of Delaware between 1971-1986.
He served in the U.S. Army in Ordinance in the European Theatre between 1943-1945. He was a veteran of the Normandy invasion.
He was Valedictorian of Burnham High School, Class of 1941. He earned his B.S. degree in Chemical Engineering from Drexel Institute of Technology in 1947. He was a registered professional engineer in the state of Delaware for 31 years.
His funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Andrews Lutheran Church, 425 Dupont Hwy., Dover, DE. Graveside service will be at 3 p.m. Thursday at St. Johns Lutheran Cemetery, Lewistown.
