Helen S. Adams
MIFFLINTOWN - Helen S. Adams, 86, of RR4, Mifflintown, died at 11:10 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 7, 2003, at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.
Born Sept. 12, 1916, in Summit, Crawford County, she was a daughter of the late Frank L. and Kathryn (Claire) Suloff. Her husband, Chet L. Adams, whom she married on Oct. 17, 1944, survives.
Also surviving are several nieces and nephews.
She is the last of her immediate family, having been preceded in death by two sisters , Mary Smith and Jane Ruble.
She was a member of the Mexico United Presbyterian Church, where she served as the organist for many years. She was also a member of the Juniata County Business and Professional Women's Club.
She was a 1934 graduate of Mifflintown High School.
Until her retirement in 1993, she was an administrative assistant for Avtex Fibers, Lewistown.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, from the Mifflintown Chapel of Brown Funeral Homes Inc., 100 Bridge St., with her pastor, the Rev. Carol Davis, officiating. Burial will be in Adams Cemetery, RR4, Mifflintown.
There will be no viewing but family will receive friends 1 p.m. until the time of service Friday at the funeral home.

Frank N. Aitkin
MILROY - Frank N. Aitkin, 85, of 54 Hill St., Milroy, died at 5:59 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 27, 2003, at Lewistown Hospital.
Born June 17, 1917, in Milroy, he was a son of the late Ralph Russler and Rhoda Adams (Naginey) Aitkin. His wife, Isabelle M. (Collins) Aitkins, whom he married Nov. 28, 1946, survives.
Also surviving is: a sister, Mrs. Patrick (Helen) Rametti, Peterstown, WV.
He was preceded in death by two brothers , Harry T. and George R. Aitkin.
He had worked as a carpenter at Standard Steel, Burnham, retiring June 1, 1982, with over 31 years of service.
His funeral service will be held at 3:30 p.m. Sunday at Bohn Funeral Home, Reedsville, with Rev. Robert L. Zorn officiating. Interment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Milroy.
Friends may call from 2:30 p.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home.
John Norman Aitkins
HOUSTON, TX - John Norman Aitkins, 65, of Houston, TX, died Friday, Jan. 10, 2003, in Houston.
Born Jan. 19, 1937, in Decatur Township, Mifflin County, he was a son of the late Clark S. Aitkins and Ida Pearl (Lindsey) Aitkins Baker. His wife, Barbara (Gilmore) Aitkins, survives.
Also surviving are children, Arlene Lokey, Alabama, Michelle Schmidt, Houston, and Norman Aitkins Jr.; siblings, Robert W. Aitkins and Clark M. Aitkins, Lewistown, Cleon P. Aitkins, Wormleysburg, and Ray E. Aitkins and Mrs. Max (Jennie) Goss, McClure; half-sisters , Mrs. Lester (June Hubler) Railing, Hanover, and Rose (Hubler) Baumgardner, Yeagertown; and four grandchildren.
A half-brother, Harry Worrell, preceded him in death.
He was a U.S. Army veteran stationed in Alabama and Germany, and was retired.
Services will be held today in Houston. Interment will be in Veterans Cemetery, Houston.
Martha A. Albright
LEWISTOWN - Martha A. Albright, 81, of 9 S. Walnut St., Lewistown, died at 5 a.m. Saturday, March 22, 2003, at her son, Ronald Albright Sr.'s residence, 7 Ave., Burnham.
Born June 9, 1921, in Lewistown, she was a daughter of the late Wilmot and Alice (Coyler) Corson. Her husband, Charles Albright, Sr., died 1980.
Surviving are: three children, Charles "Skip" Albright, Jr., Lewistown, Ronald Albright, Burnham, and James Albright, McVeytown; three brothers , William Corson, Vira, David Corson, Lewistown, and Billy Corson, Burnham; 10 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by four sisters and two brothers .
She worked at the Elks Club #663 for 18 years and at Empire Kosher Poultry, Inc., for 3 years.
She attended Bible Baptist Church.
Her funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Barr Funeral Home, Inc., 120 Logan St., Lewistown, with Rev. John Walters officiating. Interment will be in Mt. Rock Cemetery.

Shirley R. (Cowder) Romig Albright
WEST YORK - Shirley R. (Cowder) Romig Albright, 78, of West York, died at 5:45 a.m. Monday, Feb. 24, 2003, at Manor Care Health Services, South York.
Born Sept. 26, 1924, in Woodland, she was the daughter of the late Wilber and Amy (Livingston) Cowder. She was the wife of the late Raymond E. Albright, who died March 24, 1996.
Surviving are: two sons , Gene R. Romig and wife Maureen, Buffalo, NY, and Ed Kozick and wife Rebecca, Middletown; a daughter-in-law, Judy Romig; a sister, Lila Warner, Belleville; a brother, Irvin Cowder and wife Nancy, Smithburg, MD; and seven grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandson.
She was preceded in death by a son, David Romig.
She was a homemaker. She worked as a waitress at several local restaurants.
Her funeral service was held Thursday, Feb. 27, at Workinger-Semmel Funeral Home and Crematorium, Inc., 849 E. Market St., York, with Rev. Daniel A. Rohrbaugh of St. Paul Evangelical Congregational Church, York, officiating. Burial was in Mt. Rose Cemetery, York.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to a favorite charity.
Virginia R. 'Ginny' Allen
LEWISTOWN - Virginia R. "Ginny" Allen, 75, of 265 Noerr Lane, Lewistown, died at 3:15 p.m. Thursday, May 15, 2003, at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.
Born June 11, 1927, in Lewistown, she was a daughter of the late Robert and Ruth (Turnbaugh) Angney. Her husband, George A. Allen Sr., who she married in 1947, survives.
Also surviving are five children, Joy Konnick, Pottstown, Marlin Allen, Lewistown, Cardie Melnick and Michele Weigner, both of Pottstown, and George A. Allen Jr., Lewistown; five brothers and sisters , Dorothy Jones, Camp Hill, Robert Angney and Lois Miller, both of Lewistown, Geraldine Steiner, Flinton, and Mary Graham, Lewistown; nine grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by two brothers , a sister and a grandchild.
She was a quality control technician for Aerospace Industry Division for ICI America, Valley Forge.
She volunteered at Ohesson Manor for 16 years.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Barr Funeral Home, 120 Logan St., Lewistown, with Rev. Clifford Miller officiating. Interment will be private.

Lillian G. Allenbaugh
LEWISTOWN - Lillian G. Allenbaugh, 88, formerly of Valley St., Lewistown, died at 6 a.m. Tuesday, May 27, 2003, at Ohesson Manor.
Born April 14, 1915, in Tyrone, she was a daughter of the late Warren Sr., and Jennie (Yeager) Stewart. Her husband, Homer, died Sept. 15, 1980.
Surviving are: a daughter, Jennie Coates, Paisley, FL; many nieces and nephews; three sisters , Nancy Estep and Edith Bush, both of Lewistown, and Dorothy Schiegel of Florida; two grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by four brothers and three sisters .
Early in life she was a waitress at Green Gables. Later she owner of Irv's Bar and Grill, Bellefonte.
She was a member of Elks #663, Lewistown and life member of City, Fame and Brooklyn Fire Companies.
Her funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Barr Funeral Home, Inc., 120 Logan St., Lewistown, with Rev. Norman Huff officiating. Interment will be in Lind Memorial Cemetery.
