JOSEPHINE ZORACKI
Josephine Zoracki, 81, a lifelong resident of East Huntingdon Township, passed away Friday, April 7, 2000. She was born in Mt. Pleasant, Aug. 20, 1918, a daughter of the late Michael and Rozalia Koscielniak Zoracki. She was a member of the Transfiguration Roman Catholic Church of Mt. Pleasant and was the family farm manager. She is survived by three brothers , Jerome and Francis Zoracki, both of Everson, and Richard Zoracki of Mt. Pleasant; two sisters , Florence Dombrowski of Pittsburgh and Rita Musial; a sister-in-law, Anna Lisik Zoracki of Mt. Pleasant; and by a number of nieces and nephews, great-nieces and -nephews, and a great-great-niece and -nephew. She was predeceased by four brothers , Joseph H., Aloysius, Justin "Gene" and Michael R. Zoracki. Friends will be received in the EUGENE G. SALOOM FUNERAL HOME INC., Main Street, Mt. Pleasant, Saturday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Sunday from 12 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. A blessing service will be held in the funeral home Monday at 11:30 a.m., followed by a Funeral Mass at noon in the Transfiguration R.C. Church. Interment will follow in the Transfiguration Cemetery. Josephine will be sadly missed by her family and friends.
JOHN C. CHRISTMAN
John C. Christman, 58, of Sewickley (Economy Borough), died Saturday, April 8, 2000, in Allegheny General Hospital, Pittsburgh. He was born Nov. 29, 1941, in White , Pa., a son of the late Charles William and Elva Scott Christman. John's work in life was as a minister and he was a member of the Three Rivers Free Baptist Church, Cranberry Township. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by two brothers , Dick and Kenneth Christman. He is survived by his wife, Barbara Wallace Christman; a son, Randy Christman and his wife, Tammy, of Acme; a daughter, Pam Jones and her husband, Tom, of Cranberry Township; seven grandchildren, Sherry Showman and her husband, Craig, Elizabeth Christman, John Christman, Bobbie Sue Jones, Jeffrey Christman, Jenna Jones and Mandy Jones; two great-grandchildren, Alyssia and Tyler Showman; two brothers , Donald Christman and his wife, Ivy, of Normalville and Howard Christman and his wife, Pat, of Mt. Pleasant; and three sisters , Betty Beckner, Sylvia VanSickle of Donegal and Sandra Zufall and her husband, Dave, of Champion. Claire (Weixel) Claus, 75, on Friday, April 7, 2000. Wife of the late Eugene G. Sr. Beloved mother of Eugene G. Jr., Mary Dapra, Cheryl Claus and James Claus. Also nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Sister of Norbert Weixel and the late James Weixel. She retired after 29 years from IDL, then created her own business known as Tails-a-Wagon, with her daughter, Mary. Pasquale "Pat" Conte, 75, of Jeannette, died Saturday, April 8, 2000, in the Westmoreland Regional Hospital, Greensburg. He was born April 28, 1924, in South Greensburg, a son of the late Henry and Carmella Moffe Conte. Prior to retirement, he was employed by the Penn Oxygen and Supply Co., Penn. Pat was a member of the Ascension Church of Jeannette; a veteran of World War II, having served in the U.S. Army Air Corps. He was a member of the American Legion Post 981, South Greensburg, the Roosevelt Club, Hempfield Township, and enjoyed bowling with the Mixed Seniors League. He is survived by his wife, Anna Maddalena Conte; a daughter, Anita Irwin and husband, John, of Connellsville; a son, Edward Conte of Claridge; three grandchildren, Nichole, Michael and Stacy Irwin, all of Connellsville; two brothers , Dominic Conte and wife, Ginny, of Ohio and Henry Conte Jr. and wife, Sara, of South Greensburg; a sister, Gelsamena Cicco of North Huntingdon; and numerous nieces and nephews. Marion Elizabeth Vaughn Fulton, 76, of Duquesne, died Wednesday, April 5, 2000, in Braddock Hospital. She was born Oct. 22, 1923, in McKeesport, a daughter of the late Phillip E. and Mary S. Vaughn. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph W. Fulton. She is survived by a daughter, Roberta Hines of Long Beach, Calif.; and a sister, Joanne Polo of West Newton. Anne R. (Legler) Hennen, of Bloomfield, on Friday, April 7, 2000. Beloved wife of Thomas A. Hennen. mother of Thomas R. Hennen and his wife, Darlene, and Lynda C. Stiger and her husband, Thomas J. Grandmother of Emily T. and Rachel Stiger. Sister of George and Raymond Legler and Ruth Vincent and the late Albert, Val and John Legler. Survived by numerous nieces and nephews. JAMES W. YOUNKIN
James W. "Jim" Younkin, 83, of Owensdale (Upper Tyrone Township), passed away Saturday morning, April 8, 2000, at Frick Hospital, Mt. Pleasant. Jim was born Dec. 1, 1916, in Owensdale, a son of the late Herman S. and Audith Keller Younkin. Jim was a longtime employee with U.S. Steel, Irvin Works Division, having retired with over 30 years of service. He was a member of the Owensdale United Methodist Church and was a 32nd Degree Mason and a member of the Marion Lodge #562 F&AM, the Uniontown Lodge of Perfection, the Tall Cedars and the Pittsburgh Consistory. Jim was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving during World War II in the 4th Armored Division. He fought in the Battle of the Bulge and among his many military decorations was the Bronze Star. He was an avid hunter in earlier years and was a graduate of Scottdale High School. Jim is survived by his loving and caring family, including two sisters -in-law, Dorothy "Dot" Younkin of Scottdale and Dorothy J. Younkin of Somerset; a brother-in-law, George C. Fretts of Scottdale; numerous nieces and nephews; and a special friend, Kathleen Sethman of Scottdale. Jim was the last surviving member of the Herman and Audith Younkin family. In addition to his parents, Jim was preceded in death by a sister, Eleanor M. Fretts, in 1996; and two brothers , Herman S. "Sam" Younkin, in 1985, and Irvin K. Younkin, in 1984. ANNE VIRGINIA BAMBREY
Anne Virginia Bambrey, 84, formerly of Scottdale, passed away Sunday, April 9, 2000, at the Edgewood Nursing Center, Youngstown, Pa. Virginia was born Aug. 27, 1915, in Scottdale, a daughter of the late Leo and Annie O'Connor Mears. Virginia was a loving mother and grandmother, and a longtime and faithful member of St. John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church, Scottdale, where she was a member and past Regent of the Catholic daughters of the Americas Court Lambing #314. She had also taught CCD religious education classes and was a member of the former Mission Club, both at the church. In 1980, Virginia graduated from Westmoreland County Community College with an associate degree in accounting. She was also an avid card player, crossword puzzle solver, and rose gardener. Virginia is survived by her loving family, a son, Edward Bambrey of Myrtle Beach, S.C.; a daughter, Mary Ellen Bambrey of Bedford, Pa.; a son, James Bambrey and wife, Linda, of Johnstown; a daughter, Jeanne Bambrey Burger and husband, James, of Derry; and a son, Paul Douglas Bambrey and wife, Jackie, of Tyler, Texas ; many loving grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Also surviving are two brothers , Richard Mears of Jacksonville, Fla., and Leo Mears of Plum. In addition to her parents, Virginia was preceded in death by her husband, Francis Bambrey in 1976; a daughter, Anne Bambrey Fay in 1991; a son-in-law, James Fay III in 1994; four sisters , Margaret Hobart, Theresa Marhefka, Patricia Oliver and Bernice Mears; and five brothers , John, Paul, Robert, William, and Francis Mears. STELLAMAE CRAMER
Stellamae Cramer, 88, of Ligonier, died Sunday, Apri1 9, 2000, in Westmoreland Regional Hospital, Greensburg. She was born June 3, 1911, in Ligonier, a daughter of the late Harrison Morton and Nancy Jane McDowell Cramer. She was a member of the Covenant Presbyterian Church, Ligonier. She served as director of activities of the now Asbury Methodist Home, Mt. Lebanon, from which she retired. She had served as secretary and president of ARIHA (Associates for Recreation of the Ill, Handicapped and Aged). She was also president of the Pittsburgh Dental Assistants Society, was instrumental in initiating and teaching night school for adults in Dental Assisting at Allegheny High School, Pittsburgh. Also, she served as parish director and director of religious education at the First Methodist churches of Pittsburgh, Greensburg and Butler, and the Grove Avenue Methodist Church of Johnstown; and was also a counselor, instructor and co-dean of the Jumonville Methodist Training Center. Since retirement and her return to Ligonier, she served three years as president of GFWC-PFWC Women's Club of Ligonier and as a teacher of Circle I of the Covenant Presbyterian Church. Since residing in Redstone Highlands, Greensburg, she served in several capacities, including reading to others and leading some chapel and church services. She was preceded in death by her parents; and four brothers , Roy Frank, Garnet Harrison, Robert Killian and Glen Willard Cramer. She is survived by her sister, Mary Louise Gettemy and husband, Harold, of Jeannette; sisters -in-law, Mary Shaffer Cramer and Nora Emert Cramer of Ligonier; as well as many nieces and nephews, great- and great-great-nieces and nephews. JOSEPHINE (DAMATO) CREMONESE
Josephine (Damato) Cremonese, 85, of Greensburg, died Sunday, April 9, 2000, in the Greensburg Nursing and Convalescent Center. She was born April 25, 1914, in Greensburg, a daughter of the late Joseph and Caroline Rega Damato. She was a graduate of the first licensed practical nurse program at Greensburg Salem High School. Prior to her retirement, she worked as a licensed practical nurse at Westmoreland Regional Hospital and later as an office assistant for the late Dr. Oliver Litman. She was a member of the Blessed Sacrament Cathedral of Greensburg and the Columbia Ladies' Mutual Beneficial Association. She was also a member of several bowling leagues in Greensburg, and the St. Anne's Women's Association. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Rosaline Kuzman; and a grandson, Timothy Leonard. She is survived by her husband, Joseph J. Cremonese of Greensburg, with whom she celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary on Oct. 25, 1999; a son, Joseph G. Cremonese and wife, Dorothea; a daughter, Anita Leonard and her husband, Larry; and a son, David Cremonese and his wife, Maureen, all of Greensburg; a daughter, Caroline Berg and her husband, John, of Boardman, Ohio; 13 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; a sister, Mary Blasiole and her husband, Rocco, of Greensburg; and several nieces and nephews. HOWARD H. GUY
Howard H. Guy, 75, of Flinton, Pa., formerly of Royal Oak, Md., and Latrobe, died Saturday, April 8, 2000, in the Jeannette District Memorial Hospital. He was born April 29, 1924, in Jeannette (Lincoln Heights), a son of the late Howard and Violet (Bigelow) Guy. Prior to retirement, he was employed by West Penn Power. He was a veteran of World War II, having served with the U.S. Navy as one of the original "Frogmen," now known as Navy Seals. He worked in underwater mine demolitions and was a recipient of the Purple Heart. He was a former member of the Christ United Church of Christ, Latrobe; a member of the VFW in Royal Oak, and was a gifted artist who, along with his second wife, owned and operated the Creeks End Art Gallery in Royal Oak. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sons , Rian S. and Robert E. Guy; his second wife, Irene Guy; and a sister, Norma Rabbits. He is survived by four children, Howard "Rick" Guy of Blairsville, Rebecca McGeever of Jeannette, Randy L. Guy of Hagerstown, Md., and Rod C. Guy and his wife, Marlene, of Latrobe; 10 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and his former wife, Betty (Miller) Guy of Latrobe.
