Stanley Barwiolek, of Jeannette, on Monday, April 3, 2000. He retired from Robertshaw Inc. with 40 years of service. Husband of the late Irene (Jesse) Barwiolek. Father of the late Alan Barwiolek and Linda Nygaard. Grandfather of Jenny and Jamie Nygaard of Wisconsin. Brother of Henry "Barney" and William Barwiolek and the late Edward and Steve. Also survived by nieces and nephews. There will be no visitation. LOUIS BOHINCE
Louis Bohince, 81, of Penn Township, died Thursday, April 6, 2000, in Forbes Regional Hospital, Monroeville. He was born June 5, 1918, in Pleasant Valley, a son of the late Valentine and Mary Perko Bohince. Prior to his retirement, he was employed as an inspector for Westinghouse in East Pittsburgh. He was a veteran of World War II, having served in the U.S. Army. He was a member of St. Barbara's Church, Harrison City, the S.N.P.J. Lodge #7 in Pleasant Valley, and the Trafford American Legion. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by eight brothers , John, Joseph, Bill, Frank, Rudy, Victor, Sam, and Merle Bohince; and a sister, Mary Batis. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Therese Janets Bohince; a son, Mel Louis and wife, Jeannie, of Level Green; a daughter, Mary Lu and husband, Jan Crouse, of Southaven, Miss.; and four grandchildren, Mark and Kelly Crouse, and Mathew and Dayna Bohince. Friends will be received at the JAMES E. LINDSAY FUNERAL HOME INC., Main Street, Harrison City, Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Saturday in St. Barbara's Church, Harrison City, with the Rev. MILDRED MAE CAMBELL
Mildred Mae Cambell, 67, of McCullough, died peacefully in her sleep Wednesday, April 5, 2000. She was born March 25, 1933, in Hempfield Township, a daughter of the late Alvin and Sarah Rugh Klingensmith. She was a loving wife and mother . Surviving are her husband of 43 years, John "Jack" Cambell Sr.; two sons , John K. and wife, Barbara Cambell, of Ligonier and Keith Cambell of Greensburg; two daughters , Kathleen Larkin of Washington , Pa., and Betty Ann and husband, Douglas Fischer, of Orlando, Fla.; two sisters , Delvia Klingensmith of Punxsutawney and Betty Spencer of Tampa, Fla.; nine grandchildren; and a best friend, Carol "Lynn" Hobaugh. Margaret "Jean" Finley, 82, of Latrobe, died Wednesday, April 5, 2000, in Latrobe Area Hospital. She was born Jan. 20, 1918, in Derry, a daughter of the late Raymond and Minnie Mae Ickes Stiffler. Prior to retirement, she had worked at Real Line Market of Latrobe, and was a member of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, Latrobe. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by five brothers and sisters . Jean is survived by her husband, Harry D. Finley; two sons , Harry R. Finley and his wife, Carol, of Alexandria, Va., and Ronald W. Finley of Latrobe; four grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; a brother, C. Fred Stiffler of Derry; and numerous nieces and nephews. Family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday in the MICHAEL J. QUINLISK FUNERAL HOME INC., 548 N. Chestnut St., Derry. VIRGINIA M. VOLPE MOSKO
Virginia M. Volpe Mosko, 76, of Derry RD3 (Superior), died Wednesday, April 5, 2000, in UPMC Shadyside, Pittsburgh. She was born Oct. 9, 1923, in Derry Township, a daughter of the late Joseph and Catherine Carney Volpe. Prior to retirement, she was employed by Thorofare Markets of Greensburg. She was a member of St. Martin Senior Citizens and was a former president of Hannastown VFW Ladies Auxiliary. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Margaret Spallone; and three brothers , Frank, Michael, and Charles Volpe. Virginia is survived by her husband, Michael J. Mosko Sr.; a son, Michael J. "Buzzy" Jr. and his wife, Debbie, of Derry RD3; a daughter, Barbara Tafoya and her husband, Edward, of York; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; three brothers , Nick Volpe of Derry RD, John Volpe of Greensburg, and Philip Volpe of Saltsburg RD; a sister, Rose Pritts of Ligonier; and numerous nieces and nephews. JOSEPH G. PRAVLIK
Joseph G. Pravlik, 79, of Mt. Pleasant (Parfittown), died Wednesday, April 5, 2000, in Frick Hospital, Mt. Pleasant. He was born Feb. 22, 1921, in Mt. Pleasant, a son of the late John and Catherine Butchko Pravlik. He was employed as a coal miner, having worked for Delmont Resources Inc. of Ruffsdale. Mr. Pravlik was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving during World War II with the 975th Field Artillery Battalion. He was also a lifetime member of the Mt. Pleasant VFW Post 3368 and the U.M.W.A. He was also a member of Transfiguration Roman Catholic Church, Mt. Pleasant. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife, Viola L. Burzawa Pravlik, in 1999; two brothers , John "Tarzan" Pravlik and Francis "Kayo" Pravlik; a sister, Catherine Yezek; and five infant brothers . He is survived by a daughter, Cheryl Hegyes and her husband, Richard, of Mt. Pleasant; two grandsons, Michael and Scott Hegyes; a brother, Charles Pravlik and his wife, Jane, of Scottdale; two sisters , Mary Grippo of Tarrs and Margaret Pravlik of Mt. Pleasant; and also several nieces and nephews. Friends will be received in the BROOKS FUNERAL HOME INC., 406 E. Washington St., Mt. Pleasant, Saturday and Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. A blessing service will be held Monday at 9:30 a.m. in the funeral home, followed by a Funeral Mass at 10 a.m. in Transfiguration R.C. ELEANOR A. ROACH
Eleanor A. Roach, formerly of Jeannette, died Thursday, April 6, 2000, in St. Paul Homes, Greenville. She was a daughter of the late James Tracy and Agnes McIntyre Tracy Tussey. Prior to retirement, she was employed by Shade and Novelty of Jeannette. She was a member of the Grace United Church of Christ of Jeannette, J.D.M.H. Auxiliary Unit #4, and the Progressive Women's Club. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her stepfather, Harry G. Tussey; and two sisters , Catherine Johnson and Ruth Tracy Copenhauer. She is survived by a great-niece, Ruth K. Shafer of Chesterfield, Mo. EDNA S. TRUXAL
Edna S. Truxal, 98, of Greensburg RD5, died Wednesday, April 5, 2000, at Sunnylands Retirement Home, Pleasant Unity. She was born July 30, 1901, in Beatty, a daughter of the late Joseph D. and Carrie (Shaffer) Bennett. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Frederick S. Truxal; and three sisters , Melva Silvis, Verna V. Dunn and Dorothy I. Freeman. She is survived by a sister, Elizabeth Hepler of Raleigh, N.C.; and numerous nieces and nephews. PATRICIA HIGHBERGER UTTS
Patricia Highberger Utts, 72, formerly of Youngwood, died in Pleasantville, N.J., Thursday, Feb. 17, 2000. Mrs. Utts was born in Youngwood, April 5, 1927, and graduated from Youngwood High School in 1944. She was the daughter of Paul Highberger, a Youngwood contractor, and Gertrude Peoples Highberger, a Youngwood elementary school teacher. The Highbergers were early settlers in Westmoreland County; Mrs. Utts's great-great-great-grandparents, John Highberger and Barbara Dorney Highberger, moved to the current Sewickley Township in 1792. Mrs. Utts was a resident of Pleasantville, N.J., from 1969 until her death. Prior to moving to Pleasantville, she lived in Vineland, N.J., Niagara Falls, N.Y., and Grand Island, N.Y. She graduated from Penn State University in 1948, and worked in social services until her retirement in 1993. In 1979, Mrs. Utts was named New Jersey mother of the Year by the American Mothers Committee Inc. She was the wife of the late Richard C. Utts, and is survived by her son, Paul V. Utts and his wife, Helen, of Northfield, N.J.; four daughters , Marsha Hannah and her husband, Jerry, of Galloway Township, N.J., Jessica Utts and her companion, Wesley Johnson, of Winters, Calif., Claudia Utts-Smith and her husband, Dennis Smith, of Davis, Calif., and Melissa Ellis of Pleasantville, N.J.; and six grandchildren, Jennifer and Jerald Hannah, Julia and Alex Utts, and Patrick and Shaun Utts-Smith.
ARDEN P. WADE
Arden P. Wade, 81, of Jeannette, formerly of Clearwater, Fla., died Wednesday, April 5, 2000, in UPMC Presbyterian, Oakland. He was born Aug. 6, 1918, in Chillicothe, Ohio, a son of the late Kenneth and Myrtle Gitshel Wade. He was a retired mechanic for Eastern Airlines and a veteran of World War II, serving with the U.S. Army. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Anna Grace Lufrano Wade. He is survived by two stepdaughters, Sandra Davane of North Versailles and Debra Collura of Jeannette; seven stepgrandchildren; nine stepgreat-grandchildren; a sister, Dolly McDonald of Illinois; also nieces and nephews. EDWARD J. BODNER
Edward J. Bodner, 75, of Latrobe, died Tuesday, April 4, 2000, at Latrobe Area Hospital. He was born Oct. 7, 1924, in Reynoldsville, Pa., a son of the late Stephen and Anna Sofko Bodner. He was a member of Sacred Heart Church, Youngstown, Pa. He was a retired bricklayer from Local Bricklayers and Allied Craftsmen. He was a World War II veteran, having served in the U.S. Navy. Also he was a member of the VFW #3414 Latrobe and Jednota Lodge. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by two brothers , Stephen and John Bodner; and three sisters , Anne Crago, Virginia Bodner, and Margaret Stepanic. Survived by his wife, Margaret Repko Bodner; a son, Chris Bodner of Latrobe; a brother, Joseph Bodner of Long Island, N.Y.; two sisters , Frances Malloy of Derry and Irene Iannuzzi of Ellicott City, Md.; also survived by a number of nieces and nephews. John G. Cannon, 84, of Greensburg, formerly of Ridgewood Manor, died Sunday, April 2, 2000, in Redstone Highlands, Greensburg. He was born Aug. 5, 1915, in Frankfort, Del., a son of the late John G. and Hettie Lingo Cannon. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Greensburg, formerly of the Beulah Presbyterian Church in Churchill. He was a retired manager and vice president with the Strategic Engineering Department and later the Product Planning and Analysis Department of Westinghouse Airbrake. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Lois Shields Cannon; and his brother, R. Cannon. Surviving are his wife, Ruth W. Cannon; children, John R. Cannon and wife, Phyllis, of Emporia, Va., Judith Ulmer and husband, Stephen, of Summerville, S.C., Nancy Kline and husband, Jeffrey, of Oakmont and Gary Cannon and wife, Pamela, of Roswell, Ga.; and stepchildren, Terrence N. Thompson of Orlando, Fla., and Linda Thompson London of Westmount, Canada. Also survived by 12 grandchildren. There will be no public viewing. Services will be held at the Redstone Highlands Chapel Saturday at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Dr. James Nash officiating.
