MARLENE McCONNELL TINLEY
Marlene McConnell Tinley, 37, of North Huntingdon, died Thursday, March 30, 2000, in the Forbes Regional Hospital, Monroeville. She was born April 6, 1962, in Jeannette, a daughter of Anthony "Red" and Betty Rockwood McConnell of North Huntingdon. She was a graduate of Norwin High School, Class of 1980, a graduate of the University of Pittsburgh, Class of 1984, and went on to complete a master's degree in communication at Duquesne University. She was owner of Marlene Tinley Communication, a thriving Pittsburgh-based public relations firm. She was a member of the Church of the Immaculate Conception of Irwin. In addition to her parents, she is survived by her husband, David Tinley; two daughters , Callie Faye and Tessa Laurel Tinley, and a son, Tynan Rockwood Tinley, all at home; four brothers , Anthony Jr. and his wife, Ginny McConnell, of Irwin, Michael and his wife, Dianalyn McConnell, of Greensburg, Thomas and his wife, Mary Anne McConnell, of Leesburg, Va., and Jeff and his wife, Nancy McConnell, of Greensburg; three sisters , Bette Ann Soisson and her late husband, Joel, of Rillton, Bonnie McConnell and Sam LaPinto of Pittsburgh, and Jenny McConnell of Irwin; her mother -in-law, Georgia Tinley; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. Friends will be received at the JOSEPH F. OTT FUNERAL HOME INC., Fifth and Oak streets, Irwin, Saturday and Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated Monday at 10 a.m. in the Church of the Immaculate Conception.
DANIEL EUGENE WALTERS
Daniel Eugene Walters, 41, of South Carolina, formerly of Mt. Pleasant, died Tuesday, March 28, 2000, in the University of South Carolina Medical Center of Charleston, due to injuries sustained in an auto accident. He was born Aug. 6, 1958, in Mt. Pleasant, a son of Florena G. Nicholson Walters of Mt. Pleasant and the late Homer Walters. He had been a resident of South Carolina for the last eight years and was working as a construction painter through the union. He was a graduate of the Rosemont Institute as a certified auto mechanic. In addition to his mother , he is survived by a son, Raymond Walters of Mt. Pleasant; three brothers , Mark Walters of Mill Run, Kenneth Walters of Germantown, Md., and Charles Walters of Mt.Pleasant; and two sisters , Gale Ridenour of Connellsville and Linda Baird of Ruffsdale. In addition to his Father , he was predeceased by a brother, Homer Walters Jr. Friends will be received in the BROOKS FUNERAL HOME INC., 406 E. Washington St., Mt. Pleasant, Saturday from noon to 4 p.m., at which time there will be a memorial service in the funeral home with the Rev. Geary Witt officiating. Burial will be in the Scottdale Cemetery.
FRANCES A. WEEMS
Frances A. Weems, 80, of Yellow Springs, Ohio, died Thursday, March 30, 2000, at 11:30 a.m., in Friends Care Center, Yellow Springs. She was born Nov. 5, 1919, in Pittsburgh, the daughter of Robert and Frances (Montgomery) Anderson. She was a member of St. Christopher's Episcopal Church in Fairborn, Ohio. Mrs. Weems is survived by three daughters and sons -in-law, Frances Ellen and David Biddle of Titusville, N.J., Connie and Frank Sefchick of Weatherly, Pa., and Jane and Miguel Visbal of Yellow Springs, Ohio; a brother and sister-in-law, Dr. Robert and Marie Anderson of Shrewsbury, Mass.; seven grandchildren; and a niece, Sarah and her husband, Joe Lividini. She was preceded in death by her husband, the Rev. Chester Weems, in 1956; and a daughter, Cynthia, in 1960. Friends may visit with the family Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. in the JACKSON LYTLE & INGLING WILLAMS FUNERAL HOME, 322 Xenia Ave., Yellow Springs, Ohio. Visitation will also be held from 8 a.m. until the time of service at 9 a.m. Saturday in the funeral home with Chaplain Alan Barone officiating. ANN BARRON
Ann Barron, of Derry, died Saturday, April 1, 2000, at home. She was born in Richeyville, Washington County, the daughter of the late Andrew and Anna Chermack Burger. She was a lifetime member of the Derry Presbyterian Church, where she had served as deacon, elder and president of the board of trustees. She had been on the pulpit committee and the nominating committee. She was a teller at Southwest Bank of Derry, retiring with over 23 years of service. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Stanley Barron, on Feb. 28, 1977. She is survived by her loving daughter, Dr. Darlene Barron and her husband, Dr. Bryan Veynovich, of Sewickley; a special son, David S. and his wife, Christine Barron, of Greensburg; two precious grandsons, Matthew and Jonathon Barron; three brothers , Elmer and his wife, Christine Burger, of Derry, Theodore "Ted" and his wife, Helen Burger, of Derry and Albert and his wife, Mary Jane Burger, of New Derry; and several nieces and nephews. Friends will be received Sunday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the McCABE FUNERAL HOME, 300 W. Third Ave., Derry. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday at 11 a.m. in the Derry Presbyterian Church with her pastor, the Rev. F. Neal Galley, officiating. Interment will follow in Coles Cemetery, Derry. Fred A. Brock, 85, of North Huntingdon, died Saturday, March 11, 2000, in Spartanburg, S.C. He was born May 8, 1914, in Smithton, a son of the late Anna Burro Brock. Surviving are two daughters , Jacqueline Blake of Spartanburg, S.C., and Phyllis Zona of Jacksonville, Fla. Services and interment were private. Arrangements provided by the JOSEPH F. MARTHA AGNES EISAMAN
Martha Agnes Eisaman, 99, formerly of Greensburg RD6, died Friday, March 31, 2000, in Westmoreland Regional Hospital, Greensburg. She was born Sept. 19, 1900, in Hempfield Township, a daughter of the late Cyrus D. and Agnes Altman Eisaman. She was a retired employee of the Hempfield Area School District cafeteria, and a lifelong member of the Harrold Zion Lutheran Church and the Altar Guild, a Sunday school teacher, and a member of ELCA and the church choir. She was happiest working in her garden and growing her flowers and was active in the Harrold Community Fair. She was the last surviving member of her family. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her three brothers , Charles, C. Clark and Edwin; and four sisters , Edith Cope, Mary Bailey, Alice Allshouse and Ethel Eisaman. She is survived by her two nephews, Frank Eisaman and his wife, Dorothy, and Earl Eisaman; and five nieces, Eleanor Miller and husband, Art, Mildred Chellman, Martha Spade, Dorothy McCune and husband, Robert, and Helen Barnett and husband, Bud. Friends will be received at the KEPPLE-GRAFT FUNERAL HOME INC., 524 N. AUGULIN J. GIANAMORE
Augulin J. "Augie" Gianamore, 83, of West Newton, died Saturday, April 1, 2000. He was born July 2, 1916, in West Newton, a son of the late Albert and Filomena Gianamore. Augie's beloved wife of 58 years, Eileen Amatangelo Gianamore, cared for him in their home until his death. He was a member of the Holy Family Roman Catholic Church in West Newton, where he had been an active member of the Holy Name Society. He was a life member of the sons of Columbus of America. Augie was well known in West Newton as a helper to all entering the former Service Star hardware store. He had worked for 12 years, until retirement, as a manager of Sun Wallpaper in Charleroi. Prior to his work there, he was previously employed by Bentleyville Lumber and Campbell Lumber after serving in the Army Infantry during World War II. A loving Father and consistent provider, he is survived by, in addition to his wife, Eileen, four children: a daughter, Phyllis and her husband, Andy O'Masta, granddaughter, Susan, grandson, Sean and his wife, Denise, and great-grandchildren, Justin and Taylor, all of Orlando, Fla.; a son, Robert and his wife, Patricia Gianamore, granddaughter, Rachel, and grandson, Paul, all of Chicago, Ill.; a daughter, Kathleen and her husband, James Torkar, grandson, Brian and his wife, Paula, and granddaughter, Jamie and her husband, Doug Swartz, all of York, Pa.; and a son, David and his wife, Pamela Gianamore, and grandchildren, Adam, Emily, Angela and Justin, all of Fox Chapel, Pa.; and a sister, Amelia Amatangelo of New York. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers , Severine, Anthony, Martin and Dominic Genemore. Friends will be received at the RICHARD F. Joseph Paul Kozar, 47, of Greensburg, formerly of New Derry, died Saturday, April 1, 2000, at Westmoreland Regional Hospital, Greensburg. He was born May 7, 1952, in Latrobe, a son of Joseph M. and Pauline Penich Kozar of New Derry. In addition to his parents, he is survived by his godmother, Helen Henderson; his godfather, George Kozar; and several aunts, uncles and cousins. EVELYN WHALEY LEIGHTY
Evelyn Whaley Leighty, 85, formerly of Painter Street, Everson, died Friday, March 31, 2000, in Eicher's Family Personal Care Home, Normalville. She was born Sept. 8, 1914, in Everson, a daughter of the late Freeman and Olive Miller Whaley. Evelyn was a very active member of the Everson Evangelical Church of North America, where she taught Sunday school for many years. She is survived by a grandson, Mark Leighty and his wife, Anna, of Virginia; two great-granddaughters, Nicole and Giuliana Leighty; a sister, Mrs. Anthony (Stella Marie "Sis") Grimaldi of Connellsville; a brother, William Whaley and his wife, Helen, of Baltimore, Md.; a daughter-in-law, Eileen Doria Leighty of Virginia; and a number of nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Marks Leighty, who died Aug. 10, 1994; a son, Dennis M. Leighty, who died Aug. 18, 1985; two brothers , Charles "Bub" Whaley of Baltimore and Donald Whaley of Everson; three sisters , Olive Ruth Parfitt "Boots" Farrell of New Stanton, Meridith "June" Clawson of Scottdale and Patricia Ann Whaley, who died Oct. 5, 1999. JOHN J. McCAFFERTY
John J. McCafferty, 71, of Trafford, died Friday, March 31, 2000, in the Forbes Regional Hospital, Monroeville. He was born Nov. 2, 1928, in Wall, Pa., the son of the late James and Ethel Klinehan McCafferty. He was a veteran of the
Korean War, having served in the U.S. Marine Corps. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Betty, in 1995; and a daughter, G. Jane Link, in 1994. He is survived by four sons , John of Pittsburgh, Edward of Shippensburg, Lee and David, both of Trafford; a daughter, Donna Borst of Trafford; a sister, Melba Liss of Level Green; and 10 grandchildren. There will be no visitation. A memorial service was held Saturday morning in the JOHN M. DOBRINICK FUNERAL HOME, 429 Duquesne Ave., Trafford.

Pasquale "Patsy" Moff Sr., 87, of Jeannette, died Saturday, April 1, 2000, in the Baldock Health Care Centre, North Huntingdon. He was born Dec. 23, 1912, in Crabtree, a son of the late Domenic and Maria DeBone Moff. Prior to his retirement, he was employed by the former ASG Industries of Jeannette. Patsy was a member of the Ascension Church of Jeannette and its Holy Name Society and senior citizens group. He was a veteran of World War II, having served in the U.S. Army in Italy, France and Africa, and having been awarded a Purple Heart. Patsy also was a member of the American Legion #344 and VFW, both of Jeannette, the local D.A.V. and the Jeannette chapter of the AARP. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife, Mary Masciantonio Moff, in 1995; two sisters , Mary Moff and Elizabeth Willochell; and a brother, John Moff. He is survived by a son, Pasquale C. Moff Jr. and his wife, Janey, of Jeannette; two granddaughters, Valerie Yates and husband, Bruce, and Allison Moff; a great-grandson, Hunter Yates; two sisters -in-law, Alice Masciantonio of Jeannette and Carmel Palombo of Mon City; a special niece, Rose Marie Acita; and numerous other nieces and nephews. DR. BERNICE S STARK
Dr. Bernice S Stark, 84, Professor Emerita at Point Park College, passed away Saturday, March 25, 2000, at Friendship Village in Upper St. Clair. She had been a Mt. Lebanon resident for 52 years. Dr. Stark earned her AB at Barnard College and her MA at Columbia University. She completed her Ph.D. at the University of Pittsburgh in 1971. Dr. Stark joined the Point Park faculty in 1964 and gave 22 years of service and scholarship, rising to the position of professor and chairman of the Department of Modern Languages. Dr. Stark's passion for Latin American culture and language predated her tenure at Point Park. She wrote two children's novels, "Chancho: A Boy and His Pig in Peru" and "Adventures in Peru," published by Julian Messner (Scribners) in the 1940s, and went on to publish several short stories for children in the 1950s. Dr. Stark was born Oct. 3, 1915, in Yonkers, N.Y., a daughter of Margaret Morrison Sutherland and Herbert Irving Sutherland. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Louis M Stark; and a son, David Sutherland Stark. She is survived by two sons , Donald Morrison Stark and his wife, Nancy Tuttle, of Teaneck, N.J., and William Seckel Stark and his wife, Sharon Nolte Stark, of St. Louis, Mo.; four grandchildren, Tahiti Starship, Matthew Stark, Daniel Stark and Navarro Stark; and a sister, Ruth Filkins. A memorial service was held at St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Mt. Lebanon on Saturday, March 25. Honoring Dr. Stark's lifelong love of literature and dedication to the humanities, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Andrew Carnegie Free Library, Beechwood Avenue, Carnegie, PA.
