Thomas Heller Jr., 70, of East Stroudsburg, died Wednesday in Pocono Medical Center, East Stroudsburg. He was the husband of Joyce (Brush) Heller.
Born on June 15, 1928, in East Stroudsburg, he was the son of the late Thomas and Pearl (Lee) Heller Sr. and had lived in the area all of his life. He was a horseman and had owned and operated his own stables in the area for many years.
A veteran of the Korean Conflict, he served in the U.S. Army in Germany. He was a member of the Middle Smithfield Presbyterian Church.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by three sons , Thomas Heller III of Nanticoke, Layton Heller of Stroudsburg and Lawrence Heller of Lake Worth, Fla.; a daughter, Judy Lee Herrmann of Stroudsburg; a brother, Lester Heller, of East Stroudsburg; nine grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, May 21, at 10:30 a.m. in the William H. Clark Funeral Home, 1003 Main Street, Stroudsburg, with the Rev. Robert Mohr officiating. Burial will follow in the Laurelwood Cemetery, Stroudsburg.
There will be a viewing on Thursday, May 20, from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at the funeral home.

Lydia Keigher

Lydia Keigher, 86, of Kunkletown, died on Wednesday, May 19, at St. Luke's Hospital in Fountain Hill. She was the wife of the late Raymond A. Keigher, who died in 1984.
She was born in Oregon, a daughter of the late Maurice and Fay (Roses) Bruckman.
She is survived by a sister, Roslyn Blick of Riverdale, N.Y.; many nieces and nephews to include Marcy Blick of Secaucus, N.J., Roberta Blick of Manhattan, N.Y., Susan Ocker of Schenectady, N.Y., Michael and Ellen Keigher of Colorado, and Frederick Keigher of Schenectady, N.Y.
Funeral services were held by the Lanterman & Allen Funeral Home, 27 Washington Street, East Stroudsburg.
Burial was in the Evergreen Memorial Park, Schenectady, N.Y. There was no viewing.

Carl Smith

Carl Smith, 74, of Marshalls Creek, died Monday, May 17, at home. He was the husband of the late Helen (Rooney) Smith
Carl was employed as a truck driver for Nabisco in New Jersey for many years before retiring in 1984. He was a member of the local 560 Teamsters Union. He served in the Merchant Marines for 4 years. He was a lifetime member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars.
He is survived by three sons , Carl and Edward, both of Glendale, Ariz., and Glen of Landing, N.J., five daughters , Ann Fiore of Austell, Ga., Barbara Wohnus of Ocean Gate, N.J., Dr. Fay Woomer of Oak Ridge, N.J., Helene Adubato of Randolph, N.J., and Kathy Beattie of Barnegat, N.J.; one brother, Walter of Lakewood, N.J.; 21 grandchildren; and ten great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Dennis.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 22, at 1:30 p.m. in the Lanterman & Allen Funeral Home, 27 Washington Street, East Stroudsburg, with Father Thomas Sokolowski officiating.
Cremation took place in the Arlington Crematory, White hall Twp. Relatives and friends may pay their respects on Saturday from 12:30 p.m. until the time of the services at Lanterman & Allen.

John L. Gutshall

John L. Gutshall, 66, of Bushkill, died Friday, May 21, at Pocono Medical Center, East Stroudsburg. He was the husband of Anna Mae (Trumbower) Gutshall, at home. They celebrated their 45th wedding anniversary June 6, 1998.
Born on July 9, 1932, in Hellertown, he was the son of the late Foster L. and Clara E. (Bachman) Gutshall.
John co-owned and operated the former Gutshall Chevrolet in Hellertown, from 1953 to 1970. He was also a salesman for various Automotive Parts and Fastners in the Lehigh Valley and Pocono areas, before retiring.
He was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church of Craigs Meadow, East Stroudsburg; a member of F & AM Barger Lodge #325 - Stroudsburg; life member of the Edward H. Ackerman Post 397 - Hellertown; charter member of the Saucon Valley Jaycees; a member of the Hellerman Sportman's Association; and past Worshipful Master of the former F & AM Lodge #563 - Hellertown.
He was a U.S. Marine during the
Korean War.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by three sons , John Gutshall of Bushkill, Mark J. Gutshall of Stroudsburg, and Andrew J. Gutshall of Reading; one daughter, Jean G. Hart, wife of Clinton B., of Marblehead, Mass.; and one brother, Frank B. Gutshall of Springtown. He was preceded in death by one brother, Donald "Popeye" T. Gutshall.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Mon., May 24, at the Heintzelman Funeral Home Inc., 326 Main Street, Hellertown. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, at the funeral home, with a Masonic Service at 8 p.m. Interment will be at Springtown Cemetery, Springfield Township.

Ethel V. Dugan Cannon, 71, of Stroud Township, died Friday morning, May 21, in Pocono Medical Center, East Stroudsburg.
Born on June 19, 1927, in Cresco, she was the daughter of the late George and Caroline (Deubler) McWilliams and was a lifetime resident of Monroe County.
She was an independent housekeeper for several private residences in the area and had accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior.
Surviving are two sons , Gordon Dugan and John Dugan, both of Stroudsburg; four daughters , Caroline Price of Stroudsburg, Jacqueline Lapping, Evon Tullo and Lois VanWhy, all of East Stroudsburg; a brother, Robert McWilliams of Cresco; 14 grandchildren; five great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Tues., May 25, from the William H. Clark Funeral Home, 1003 Main Street, Stroudsburg with the Rev. Lloy Stevens, pastor of Victory Baptist Church in Scoita, officiating. Burial will follow in Seese Hill Cemetery, Candensis.
There will be a viewing from 7 to 8 p.m. Monday evening, at the funeral home.

Marjorie Baldringer Fallon

Marjorie Baldinger Fall, 72, passed away at home on May 22, 1999 after an illness. She is survived by her husband James Fallon.
Born in Oradell, New Jersey, she was the daughter of Margaret Collins Fallon and the late John Fallon. She was employed for many years as the Nurse at the Bergen County Court House. After moving to the area, she became active in the VFW Post 3448, along with her husband Jim.
In addition to her husband she is survived by one son Curtis of Kansas, two daughters Cheryl Fournier, Las Vegas, and Nancy Dalaney of New York. Additional survivors are two sisters , Dorothy Surrett, Toms Rive, N.J., and Constance Stickel, of New Jersey. She also leaves eight grandchildren and one great grandchild.
Friends may call at the James M. Hook & Company Funeral Directors, 35 Sterling Road, Mount Pocono, on Monday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m.
Interment at Pocono Lake Cemetery Tuesday, 11 a.m.

Benjamin M. Sheinbaum, 77, of East Stroudsburg, died Saturday in Pleasant Valley Manor, Hamilton Township. He was the husband of Ellen Carol (Oliver) Sheinbaum, at home.
Born on June 6, 1921 in Germany, he was the sone of the late Jacob and Anna (Hepner) Sheinbaum and had lived in the area since 1991 moving her from Bronx, N.Y. He has been a teacher at the George Washington High School in New York City, N.Y.
A veteran of World War II, he served in the U.S. Army Air Corps. He attended the Temple Israel in Stroudsburg and was a patron of the arts as well as an avid chess player.
He is also survived by his brother, Morris, and niece and nephew, Anne-Mindy and Jack. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Lami in 1958 and a daughter, Michelle in 1959.
Graveside services will be held at the conveniece of the family in the Mount Judah Cemetery, Ridgewood, N.Y., with Rabbi David Schnitzler.

Lillian Margolis

Lillian Margolis, a resident of Elan Gardens in Clarks Summit and formerly of Webster Towers in Scranton, died at the Community Medical Center in Scranton.
She was the widow of Benjamin Margolis. Born in Poland, she was the daughter of the late Solomon and Sarah Kriegsman. She was a member of the Jewish Community Center in Scranton.
Surviving are two sons : Gottlieb Margolis of Albrightsville, Pa., and Herbert Margolis of Agoura, Calif.; seven grandchildren, five great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral was held Sunday, May 23, with services by Rabbi Dovid Saks, director of the Jewish Heritage Connection in Scranton.
Interment was in Beth Moses Cemetery, Farmingdale, Long Island, N.Y. Shiva will be observed at the residence of her son Gottlieb Margolis in Albrightsville, Pa.
Memorial contributions may be made to the donor's favorite charity.

Kirk Real Shaw, 74, of Stroudsburg, died at the Pocono Medical Center in East Stroudsburg. He was the husband of Wanda A. (Quick) Shaw.
He was born, in East Stroudsburg, a son of the late Earl and Madilyn (Real) Shaw. He had been a resident of Monroe County. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, having served during World War II.
Prior to his retirement in 1987, he was employed by the Pennsylvania State Liquor Control Board at various stores throughout the area. Prior to that, he was employed by the former Ronson Corporation for many years.
He was a member and Past Exalted Ruler of the Elks Lodge 319 of East Stroudsburg, Fraternal Order of Eagles 1106 in Stroudsburg, and the George N. Kemp Post 346 American Legion in East Stroudsburg.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a brother, John N. Shaw of Beauford, S.C.; several nieces and nephews; and a great niece.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, May 26, at 1:30 p.m. with the Rev. George S. Rigby Jr. officiating. Interment will be in the Stroudsburg Cemetery, Stroudsburg. Relatives and friends may pay their respects on Tuesday, 7 to 8:30 p.m.

Susan L. Anthony, 44, of Tannersville, died at the Lehigh Valley Hospital Center in Allentown. She was the wife of David Anthony.
Born in Concord, Calif., she was the daughter of Merryann (Nelson) Kiser of Pleasant Hill, Calif., and the late William Steig.
She had been a payroll clerk at Roadway Trucking in Tannersville for 16 years.
In addition to her husband David and mother Merryann, she is survived by a son: Jason Bachman of Reno, Nev.; two stepsons: James N. Anthony and David A. Anthony Jr., both of Tannersville; and a sister: Jeri, wife of Brent Creese of Walnut Creek, Calif.
A memorial service will be held 7:30 p.m., Wednesday, May 26, with the Rev. Robert Shrom officiating. Interment will be 10 a.m. Thursday, May 27, at the Hillside Memorial Cemetery, Effort, Pa.
