Joanna Waclawska, 40, of Mountainhome, died Tuesday, May 18, at Pocono Medical Center. She was the wife of Alexander Waclawska at home.
Born in Poland, she was the daughter of Zygmunt and Genowefor Korolczuk.
Joanna was a member of St. Bernadette's Catholic Church in Canadensis.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by two sons , Martin and Paul; and one daughter, Alexandra, all at home.
Father Alfred Vito will celebrate a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. on Friday, May 21, at St. Bernadette's Church in Canadensis. A private interment will take place at Keokee Chapel Cemetery on Saturday.
There will be a viewing from 7 to 9 p.m. on Thursday, May 20, at the Bolock Funeral Home, Routes 940 and 390, Paradise Valley.

Helen J. Francis, 85, of Pleasant Valley Manor Nursing Home, Snydersville, Hamilton Township, died on Wednesday, June 2, in the Manor. She was the widow of the late Clarence G. Francis, Sr.
Born in Philadelphia on December 5, 1913, she was a daughter of the late Frank and Katharine (Kelley) Ballisty.
She was a member of St. Matthew's Roman Catholic Church, East Stroudsburg, and was a former member of the Altar and Rosary Society.
She was active in many organizations including the Women's Auxiliary of the American Legion, Veterans of Foreign Wars and State Lodge F.O.P., all of East Stroudsburg.
She is survived by three sons , Clarence G. Francis Jr., of St. Petersburg, Fla., William G. Francis of Marshalls Creek and James J. Francis of Allentown; a sister, Sr. Maria St. Vincent, IHM, of Camilla Hall, Immaculata (Delaware County); six grandchildren; and 13 great grandchildren.
Relatives and friends are invited to her funeral, Saturday, June 5, at 9:30 a.m. in Lanterman & Allen Funeral Home, Inc., 27 Washington Street, East Stroudsburg. Mass of Christian Burial, 10 a.m., in St. Matthew's RC Church. Interment will be in Laurelwood Cemetery, Stroudsburg. A viewing will be held Saturday morning from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. at the funeral home.

John C. Cannon Jr., 44, of Stroudsburg, died Tuesday, May 18, at his home. He was the husband of Phyllis R. (Rabasca) Cannon at home.
Born in Rutland, Vt., he was the son of Audrey (Medlin) Martell of Sepring, Fla., and the late John Cannon Sr.
John grew up in the Rutland, Vt., area graduating from St. Joseph's Academy, Rutland, Vt., in 1972 and in 1976 received a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics from Norwich University, Northfield, Vt. He was also a member of the Color Guard at the University and did recruiting for the University.
In 1977, he moved to the Hackettstown, N.J., area where he worked as a programmer analyst with the Prudential Insurance Company of Roseland, N.J., from 1977 to 1983. He also took courses from the American Bankers Institute, Fellow Life Member Institute and the Chubb Advanced Training.
In 1986, John moved to the Stroudsburg area where he resided until the present. From 1983 until 1995, he was the senior programmer analyst for the Chemical Bank of New Jersey, Morristown, N.J. From 1995 until the present, he was the technical manager at Metamore Worldwide Inc. of Somerset, N.J.
He was a member of St. Matthew's Roman Catholic Church of East Stroudsburg. He was president of the Stroudsburg Area School District Music Supporters from 1996-1998. He was an avid bowler, both at the Colonial Lanes League of Stroudsburg and the Boonton Lanes Businessman's League of Boonton, N.J.
In addition to his wife and mother , he is survived by two daughters , Sarah Cannon and Emily Cannon, both at home, and a son, John C. Cannon III, also at home; a brother, William J. Cannon of North Claren, Vt.; and a sister, Margaret Beaureguard of Proctor, Vt.
A Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Friday, May 21, at 9 a.m. from St. Matthew's RC Church, East Stroudsburg with the Rev. Daniel Yenkevich as celebrant. Cremation took place at the H.G. Smith Crematory, Stroudsburg. The family will receive friends on Thursday evening, May 20, from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Joseph J. Pula Funeral Home, 23 N. Ninth Street, Stroudsburg.

Irene W. Cramer, 88 of West Palm Beach, Fla., and formerly of Marshalls Creek, died on Wednesday, January 6, 1999, in a West Palm Beach Hospital. She was the wife of the late Weldon Cramer.
She was born in Scranton, a daughter of the late Karl and Emma (Frohlich) Werry. She was a resident of Monroe County for most of her lifetime.
Prior to her retirement, she and her husband were owners and operators of the former Sunnybrook Resort and Hotel (now Lake of the Pines) in Echo Lake, Middle Smithfield Township for 30 years, selling in 1959. She and her husband were also owners and operators of Pocono Car Wash in Stroud Township for many years.
She was a former member of the Amaranth of the Stroudsburgs, Dorothy Lim Chapter and the Pocono Art Club.
She is survived by a sister, Bertha W. Maurer of West Palm Beach, Fla., and formerly of Marshalls Creek; and a step daughter, Jenette R. Cramer of Emmaus.
Memorial graveside funeral services and burial will be held on Friday, May 21, at noon in the Sand Hill Cemetery, Shoemakers, with the Rev. Raymond Poortstra officiating.
There will be no viewing. The Lanterman & Allen Funeral Home, 27 Washington St., East Stroudsburg, is in charge of arrangements.

Helen Allen Dayson of Columbia, N.J., died on May 17 at Pocono Medical Center, East Stroudsburg. A homemaker and devoted mother , she was born in Wilkes-Barre to the late Judson and Emma Kay Ashford Allen. Mrs. Dayson has been a resident of Columbia since 1956.
Her survivors include two sons , Albert, husband of Dianne, of Columbia, N.J. and Thomas, husband of Candace, of Cortland, N.Y.; six daughters , Donna wife of Mike Sarisky of Manville, N.J., Lillian (Babe) Moore of Bartonsville, Joyce wife of Andy Yetter of Columbia, N.J., Nancy wife of Bob Read of Bartonsville, Martha wife of Frank Streznetcky of Bartonsville, and Anita wife of Lloyd Nash of Twinsburg, Ohio; two sisters , Mary DiMaggio of Sarasota, Fla., and Audrey Allen of Wilkes-Barre; one brother, George of Spokane, Wash. She was the grandmother of 22 and great grandmother of eighteen.
Mrs. Dayson was predeceased by her husband, Albert, in 1965; three sisters , Sara, Martha and Ruth Fink; and two brothers , William and Leroy.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, 11 a.m., at the Newbaker Funeral Home, Route 94, Blairstown, N.J. Burial will follow in the Hainesburg Cemetery, Knowlton Township. N.J. Visitation will be Thursday, 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Diane A. Hummel, 61, of 844 Kimmerlings Road, Lebanon, died Tuesday, May 18, in Reading Hospital of natural causes.
She was the wife of Fred H. Hummel Jr.
She was born July 5, 1937 in Stroudsburg, a daughter of the late George and Ann Torzillo Arnold. She retired from the Good Samaritan Hospital as Director of Volunteer Services after 25½ years of service.
She was a member of St. Cecilia Church, Lebanon. Mrs. Hummel was a certified professional secretary. While working at GSH, she created the Volunteer Support Services for a number of hospital departments including the Emergency Room, Operating Room, and Physical Therapy Unit. She was an active member of the GSH Woman's Auxiliary, Women's Awareness Program, ABWA, Ship 91 Navy Club Auxiliary, Neversink Fire Co. She was a board member of Compeers Task Force and volunteered for the American Cancer Society's Relay For Life. She enjoyed playing bingo, cross stitching, gardening and fishing.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by children, Collette wife of John Resanovich Jr of Lebanon, Fred H. Hummel III and wife Cindy D. Hummel of Hummelstown, Catherine wife of Scott Graham of Atlanta, Ga., Christine wife of David L. Thompson of Dallas, Texas ; six grandchildren; two step grandchildren; two step great grandchildren; sisters , Connie wife of John Culligan of Bristol, Colleen McFadden of Trevose, Carol wife of Junior Cagnetti of Parkland and Ann Marie Bova of Shenandoah; a brother, George Arnold Jr. and wife Charna of Shenandoah; and nieces and nephews.
Services will be held Friday at 1 p.m. from the Rohland Funeral Home, 5th and Cumberland Streets, Lebanon.
Friends will be received following the service at the funeral home.

Anthony Rizzo

Anthony Rizzo, 79, of Long Pond, passed away Tuesday at the V. A. Hospital, Wilkes-Barre. His wife, Marion Roller Rizzo, passed away in 1989.
Born in New Jersey, he was a son of the late Nicholas and Angelina Rizzo.
He worked as an engineer for the American Hard Rubber Company before his retirement.
He was a member of the Pocono Pines American Legion Post #413. He also served in the armed forces in WWII.
He is survived by his daughter, Barbara Brown of Long Pond; two grandchildren and five great grandchildren. He is also survived by a brother, Ray Rizzo of Secaucus, N.J., and a sister, Stella Weiss of Paramus, N.J.
Friends may call at the James M. Hook & Co. Funeral Directors, 35 Sterling Road, Mt. Pocono, on Friday, May 21, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m.
Interment to be at the Pocono Lake Cemetery on Saturday at the convenience of the family.

William Miller, 67, of Youngstown, Ohio, and formerly of East Stroudsburg, died Saturday, May 15, at his home. Born in East Stroudsburg, he was the son of the late Raymond D. and Mary (LaBar) Miller Sr.
He was living in Youngstown, Ohio, for the past 12 years and prior to that he was a life long resident of the East Stroudsburg area.
He was employed at East Stroudsburg University for the past several years.
He was of the Methodist faith.
He is survived by a son, James Miller of Youngstown, Ohio; two daughters , Anna Staples and Sharon Hester, both of Fayetteville, N.C.; a step son, Keith Miller, also of Fayetteville, N.C.; two sisters , Caroline Loring of East Stroudsburg and Lorraine Lynch of Willmington, Del.; four brothers , Joseph Miller, Raymond Miller, David Miller, all of East Stroudsburg, and Talbert Miller Sr., of Bushkill; and several grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be held on Friday, May 21, at 11:30 a.m. from the Joseph J. Pula Funeral Home, 23 N. 9th Street, Stroudsburg.
Burial will be in the Sandhill Cemetery, Bushkill.
Visitation will be on Friday, May 21, from 10:30 a.m. until the time of the services at the funeral home.

William D. Mumbauer

William D. Mumbauer, 85, of East Stroudsburg, died on Wednesday, May 19, at Pocono Medical Center in East Stroudsburg. He was the husband of the late Jean E. (Michealis) Mumbauer. He had been a resident of Monroe County for most of his lifetime.
Prior to his retirement in 1978, he was employed by the Packaging Corporation of America in Delaware Water Gap for 28 years. He was a member of the CLU Club in East Stroudsburg and a volunteer at the Pleasant Valley Manor Nursing Home in Snydersville.
He is survived by two daughters , Linda Mumbauer of East Stroudsburg and Maxine Mumbauer of Easton; five sons , Howard Chester of Saylorsburg, David Mumbauer and Bryne Mumbauer, both of Delaware Water Gap, Edward Mumbauer of East Stroudsburg, and Robert Mumbauer of Allentown; two step daughters Barbara Chester of Arlington, Va., and Edna Chester of Scranton; and five grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Grace Mumbauer, and a son, Charles Chester.
Funeral Services will be held on Friday, May 21, at 10 a.m. in the Lanterman & Allen Funeral Home, 27 Washington Street, East Stroudsburg, with the Reverend Raymond Poortstra officiating.
Interment will be in the Prospect Cemetery, East Stroudsburg. Relatives and friends may pay their respects on Thursday evening from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at Lanterman & Allen.
