Margaret E. Getchius, 64, of Stroudsburg, died Thursday morning at home. She was the wife of Arthur S. Getchius, at home.
Born on December 27, 1934, in Delaware, N.J., she was the daughter of the late John and Margaret (Benjamin) Robinson and had lived in Stroudsburg for the past six years, coming from Hackettstown, N.J. She had originally lived in Wharton, N.J., where she worked as a police crossing guard for eight years.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by four sons , Louis Heddy of Effort, William Heddy of Wind Gap, Michael Heddy of Jacksonville, Fla., and Arthur Getchius of Northampton; a daughter, Mary Jane (Getchius) Levins of Easton; a brother, Henry Robinson of Jefferson Township, N.J.; 13 grandchildren; and four great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held on Monday at 10 a.m. in the William H. Clark Funeral Home, 1003 Main Street, Stroudsburg with Rev. Thomas E. Anderman officiating. Burial will follow in the Methodist Cemetery, Succasunna, N.J.
There will be a viewing on Sunday from 3 to 5 p.m. at the funeral home.

Geraldine S. Babcock, 74, of Scotrun, died on Thursday, April 29, at the Brookmont Health Care Center. She was the wife of the late Leslie Babcock.
She was born in East Stroudsburg, a daughter of the late Arthur W. and Dorothy (Gearhart) Serfass. She had been a lifelong resident of Monroe County. She was a member of Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church in Tannersville and a member of the Altar and Rosary Society at the church.
Prior to her retirement, she was employed by the former Pocono Central Catholic School in Cresco in the food services department for 25 years.
She is survived by two daughters , Noreen A. Snyder and Linda K. Bender, both of Stroudsburg; three grandchildren, Kristen Bender, Melonie Schmid, and Courtney Snyder; two great grandchildren, Nathan Schmid and Alisen Schollhammer; a sister, Elinor Fedish of Mt. Pocono; a brother, Roger Serfass of Wilmington, N.C.; and many nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, May 3, at 10 a.m. in Our Lady of Victory Church in Tannersville with Father Henry Zapotocki as the celebrant.
Interment will be in the Prospect Cemetery, East Stroudsburg. There will be a viewing on Sunday evening from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at Lanterman & Allen Funeral Home, 27 Washington Street, East Stroudsburg.

Irene Lutz, 71, of Sciota, died Thursday, April 29, at Pocono Medical Center in East Stroudsburg.
Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., she was the daughter of the late William F. and Ellen (Donohue) Courtney.
She was the wife of the late Lawrence G. Lutz who died in 1996.
She had been a legal secretary for Norman Turk, Attorney at Law, Brooklyn, N.Y., for 40 years retiring in 1992.
She was a member of Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Gilbert where she was a member of the Altar and Rosary Society.
She is survived by two sons , Lawrence Lutz II of Kunkletown and Jude Christi Lutz of Massapequa Park, Long Island, N.Y.; a daughter, Ellen Fitzgerald of Bellerose, N.Y.; two sisters , Jane Welischar of Port Jefferson , N.Y. and Kathleen Chatterton of Sciota; nine grandchildren; and three great grandchildren.
Funeral services will begin 8:30 a.m., Saturday, May 1, at the Donald N. Gower Funeral Home, Inc., Route 209, Gilbert, followed by a 9 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church, Gilbert, with the Rev. Father William McCawley celebrant. Interment will be in the Buena Vista Cemetery, Brodheadsville. Viewing will be held Friday, April 30, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Margaret "Peggy" Swiecicki of Lake Hopatcong, N.J., died at home on Friday, April 30, after a long illness. She was 59 years of age.
Born in Brooklyn, she moved to the Lake Hopatcong section of the township in 1976; she lived there until 1985, when she moved to Mt. Bethel. She returned to Lake Hopatcong this past year.
She was a real estate agent for RE/MAX Realtors in Stroudsburg for 10 years.
She is survived by a daughter, Patricia Swiecicki of Lake Hopatcong; two sons , James J. and John J. both of Lake Hopatcong; a brother, Dennis McSweeney of West Palm Beach, Fla.; a sister, Ann Marie Cummings of Staten Island, N.Y.; and a grandson, Michael Swiecicki of Lake Hopatcong.
A funeral mass will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, May 3 at the Star of the Sea Church, Espanong Road, Lake Hopatcong.

Nettie C. Mele, 72, of Effort, died Wednesday, June 16, at Lehigh Valley Hospital Center in Allentown.
She was the wife of Salvatore T. Mele. They had been married 44 years.
Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., she was the daughter of the late Edwardo and Victoria (Ioele) Curcio.
She was of the Catholic faith.
In addition to her husband, Salvatore, she is survived by a son, John, and his wife Linda Mele, of Effort, and two granddaughters, Samantha and Lauren Mele of Effort.
Funeral Services will begin 9:30 a.m., Monday, June 21, at the Donald N. Gower Funeral Home, Inc., Route 209, Gilbert, followed by a 10 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Gilbert, with the Rev. Father William P. McCawley celebrant. Paul J. Sisak
June 18, 1999
Paul J. Sisak, 78, of Canadensis, died Friday, June 18, at home. He was the husband of Majorie H. (Washburn) Sisak, to whom he was married for nearly 56 years.
Born in Portage, he was the son of Martin and Anna (Barna) Sisak. He attended Holy Trinity School in Swoyersville and Mt. Pleasant High School in Schenectady, N.Y.
He retired from the Tobyhanna Army Depot as a heavy equipment operator and served for many years as a shop steward for the local A.F.G.E.
Mr. Sisak was a veteran of World War II, a founding member of the 4th Armored Division — "Patton's Best," and participated in the Normandy invasion landing at Utah Beach. He was wounded in action and received the Purple Heart and Bronze Star, and awarded the Combat Infantryman's Badge.
He was an active member of St. Ann's Catholic Church in Tobyhanna and later at St. Bernadette's Catholic Church in Canadensis. He served as a lector and commentator, and was a coordinator of the Bingo programs at St. Ann's Church, Pocono Central Catholic High School, and Monsignor McHugh Elementary School. He also coached Little League, Babe Ruth League, and served as an umpire.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by three sons , Steven T. Sisak of Bridgeport, Conn.; Capt. Thomas J. Sisak, U.S.M.C., Central Command, SW Asia, of Tampa, Fla.; and Paul V. Sisak of Middleville, N.Y.; three daughters , Patricia A. Sears of Coxsackie, N.Y.; Marjorie H. Yonker and her husband John Yonker of Coraopolis; Lt. Cmdr. Michele T. Sisak, U.S.N.R. of Canadensis; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by five brothers , Peter, Michael, Joseph, Frank, and Adam Sisak; two sisters , Catherine Barry and Mary Sisak; and one grandchild, Tanya M. Sisak.
Rev. Father Alfred J. Vito will celebrate a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. Monday, June 21, at St. Bernadette's Catholic Church in Canadensis. A private burial service will take place at Arlington National Cemetery in Virginia.
There will be a viewing from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday, June 20, at the Bolock Funeral Home, Corners of Routes 940 and 390 in Paradise Valley.

Nettie Geisler, 78, died Thursday morning, June 17, at Pleasant Valley Manor in Snydersville. She was the widow of Charles Geisler.
Born on March 16, 1921 in Stroudsburg, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Anna Augusta (Counterman) Bogart.
Surviving are a sister, Charlotte M. Fish of East Stroudsburg and several nieces and nephews.
Private services will be held at the convenience of the family. There will be no viewing hours.

Andrew A. "Nick" Tinklepaugh, 65, of Gouldsboro, died unexpectedly on Thursday, June 17, at Community Medical Center in Scranton. He is the husband of Carol (Young) Tinklepaugh. The couple celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary on June 6.
Born in Elmhurst, he was the son of the late Andrew and Harriet Edwards Tinklepaugh. He was a resident of Gouldsboro since 1947.
He was an Army veteran.
He was employed by the Fisher Fuel and Service Company of Gouldsboro. He was a member of the Gouldsboro Historical Society and the Gouldsboro United Methodist Church.
He was a loving husband, a devoted Father and friend who was loved by all who knew him and will be missed by all.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by one daughter, Karen Learish of Gouldsboro; two sisters , Doris Halpine of Tunkhannock and Sally Wilson of Moscow; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a brother, Ira Tinklepaugh and two sisters , Marion Schenk and Gail Fisher.
The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, June 21, in the Gouldsboro United Methodist Church with the Rev. Lori Steffensen officiating. The interment will be in Fairview Memorial Park in Elmhurst.

Leland R. Schrader, age 76, of Effort, died Friday, June 18, at home. He was the husband of Lillian (Kocher) Schrader. They had been married 55 years.
Born in Tunkhannock, he was the son of Sarah (Burgess) Schrader of Mehoopany, and the late Roy Schrader.
He was a bus driver for New Jersey Transit in New Brunswick, N.J. for more than 30 years, until his retirement in 1982.
He was a United States Army Air Force veteran, having served during World War II in the European Theater.
He was a member of the American Legion Post 927 in Gilbert.
In addition to his wife Lillian, and his mother Sarah, he is survived by four sons , George Schrader of Wichita, Kan., Bing Schrader of Effort, Gary Schrader of Effort, and Dan Schrader of Saylorsburg; one daughter, Joanne, wife of George Medel of Londonderry, N.H.; one sister, Ruth Burgess of Mehoopany; one brother, Harold Schrader of Orlando, Fla.; 12 grandchildren; and three great grandchildren.
A viewing will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday, June 21, with American Legion Services at 8 p.m., followed by funeral services at 8:30 p.m. with the Rev. Gerald Miller officiating, at Donald N. Gower Funeral Home, Route 209, in Gilbert. Cremation will take place at H.G. Smith Crematory in Stroudsburg.

Marion L. Harrison, 64, of Stroudsburg, died Friday, June 18, in Stroud Manor in East Stroudsburg.
Born on August 2, 1934 in Autumn Leaf, N.Y., she was the daughter of the late Harold and Thelma M. (Hunt) Nyhus and had lived in the area most of her life. She had worked in housekeeping at the former Penn Stroud in Stroudsburg.
She was a member of the East Stroudsburg United Methodist Church.
She is survived by four daughters , Linda M. Bush, Beverly A. Woods, and Bonnie DeVore, all of East Stroudsburg and Dorothea Reichard of Stroudsburg; one son, Robert Counterman of East Stroudsburg; 17 grandchildren; and several great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Sharon Counterman.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, June 21, in the William H. Clark Funeral Home, 1003 Main Street, Stroudsburg, with the Rev. Dr. Edward C. Kimes officiating. Burial will follow in the Stroudsburg Cemetery.
There will be a viewing from 10 a.m. until the time of the service on Monday, at the funeral home.
