Mary F. Fiorino, 75, of Kunkletown, died Wednesday, April 28, at the Pleasant Valley Manor, Hamilton Twp.
She was the wife of Jim Fiorino. They had been married 45 years.
Born in Queens, N.Y., she was the daughter of the late Carmine and Mary Sirico.
She was of the Catholic faith.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by a son, Robert Fiorino of Kunkletown; seven sisters , Faye Sicari of Queens, N.Y., Jenny Sirico of Queens, N.Y., Frances Rudd of Queens, N.Y., Mildred Marinacci of North Massapequa, N.Y., Josephine True of North Bellmore, N.Y., Lucille DelGiorno of Howard Beach, N.Y., and Nancy Ciumei of Merrick, N.Y.
Funeral Services will begin 10:30 a.m., Monday, May 3, at the Donald N. Gower Funeral Home, Inc., Route 209, Gilbert, followed by an 11 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Gilbert with the Rev. Father William McCawley celebrant.
Interment will be in the Dotter's Corner Cemetery, Kunkletown.
Viewing will be held Sunday, May 2, from 2 to 5 p.m. at the funeral home.

Lillian M. Hughes, 79, of East Stroudsburg, died on Tuesday, April 27, at her home. She was the wife of the late David J. Hughes Sr.
She was born in East Stroudsburg, the daughter of the late Tony and Lucy (LaBar) Gallagher. She was a lifetime resident of East Stroudsburg.
Before retiring, she was employed by Pocono Medical Center in East Stroudsburg in the housekeeping department for 15 years. Prior to that, she was employed with Ronson Lighter Corporation in Delaware Water Gap for 30 years. She was also a member of St. Matthew's Catholic Church in East Stroudsburg.
She is survived by four sons , David J. Hughes Jr. of Stroudsburg, Jerry W. Hughes and Mahlon G. Hughes of East Stroudsburg; and Lester Hughes of Easton; 15 grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. She was predeceased by one daughter, Lillian Sharon Hughes and one son, Edward G. Hughes.
A Catholic prayer service will be held on Saturday, May 1, at 10 a.m. in the Lanterman & Allen Funeral Home, 27 Washington Street, East Stroudsburg. The Rev. Daniel Yenkevich will be officiating. Burial will take place at the Laurelwood Cemetery in Stroudsburg.
Relatives and friends may pay their respects on Friday, April 30, from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at the Lanterman & Allen Funeral Home.

Alex L. Sweizer, 79, of RR 6, Saylorsburg, died Thursday in Pocono Medical Center, East Stroudsburg.
He was the husband of the late Mina (Drobin) Sweizer.
Born in Philadelphia, he was a son of the late Morris and Sadie (Hauslich) Sweizer.
He had been a machinist at the Philadelphia Navy Yard and the Frankford Arsenal for 30 years, retiring in 1978. Later, he worked as a cashier at the 76 Truck Stop in Bartonsville for 10 years, retiring from there in 1988.
He is survived by a sister, Ruth Kraasner of Philadelphia.
No services are planned at this time. Cremation will take place in the H. G. Smith Crematory in Stroudsburg.

Beatrice C. (Verhas) Malady, 54, of Pocono Summit passed away Wednesday, April 28, at Brookmont Nursing Facility after an illness. She is survived by her husband, James Malady.
Born in Hoboken, N.J., she was the daughter of the late Gustav and Beatrice Verhas.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by a son, Timothy of Brick, N.J.; two daughters , Kelly Malady of Brick, N.J., and Kathleen Malady of Harrison, N.J.; and one sister, Carole Sinkinson of Garfield, N.J.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, May 1, at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Mt. Pocono at 9 a.m. with Msgr. Arthur Kaushenback officiating. Interment will be in St. Catherine's Cemetery, Moscow.

Aaron Forester, 26, of Tucson, passed away Friday, April 23.
He is survived by his parents, Patrick and Deborah Forester; grandmother, Violet Seese; stepfather, Robert Layer; and aunt, Sharon (Al) Carrion.
There will be a celebration of life for close friends in Tucson.
Interment services will be private in Tucson.

Sidney Effross

Sidney Effross, 81, of Washington , N.J., an educator and public school administrator, died Tuesday, April 27, in St. Luke's Hospital, Fountain Hill. He was the husband of Esther (Green) Effross. They were married for 42 years in November.
He was superintendent of schools in Washington from 1961 until retiring in 1977 and superintendent of the Blairstown, N.J., Public School System, 1951-1961.
He taught English, social studies and physical education and coached basketball and baseball at Blairstown High School, 1946-1951, and Portland High School, 1938-1942. After retiring, he was superintendent of the Warren Hills School District for a year.
A 1938 graduate of East Stroudsburg University, he received a master of education degree from Rutgers University in 1951.
Born in Portland, he was a son of the late Max and Sadie (Goldowitz) Effross.
He was a member of Bnai Abraham Synagogue, Wilson, and past vice president of its board of directors.
A charter member of the Portland Lions Club, he had perfect attendance since 1942 and was district governor, 1953-1954. A charter member and director of the Northeast Pennsylvania Lions Eye Bank, he was appointed Lions International Counselor in 1954 and awarded membership in the Lions Club International Foundation in 1989.
A member emeritus of the American Association of School Administrators, he received a special distinguished service award from the New Jersey Association of School Administrators in 1976.
Effross was a baseball and basketball player for the Portland Apollos in the Blue Mountain and Bi-State leagues for 10 years and was elected to the Blue Mountain League Hall of Fame in 1985. He was also a territorial scout for the Detroit Tigers.
He was an Army veteran of World War II, serving with the 76th Infantry Division in Europe.
He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and life member of the American Legion, both of Washington .
He was a co-organizer and life member of the Portland Ambulance Corps, former president of the Jewish Center of Northwest New Jersey, Washington , and a member of the Glenbrook and Water Gap country clubs.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Stefan D., and a daughter, Debora L. Fabian, both of the Cleveland, Ohio, area; a brother, Irving of Stroudsburg; a sister, Anne Levine of Elizabeth, N.J.; two grandsons; and nieces and nephews.
Services were held on Thursday, April 29.

Harry Janson, 98, Tannersville, died on Thursday at Pleasant Valley Manor in Snydersville. He was the husband of Eva (Liberty) Janson, Pleasant Valley Manor.
Born in Philadelphia, he was the son of the late George and Kate (Lukens) Janson.
He was the owner and operator of Janson's Barber Shop in Tannersville. He was a 78 year member of Barger Lodge #325 F & A M; one of the founders of the Central Pocono Ambulance; a life member of the Pocono Township Volunteer Fire Company; a charter member of the Tannersville Lions Club; and a member of the Crescent Lake Hunting Club. He was also an avid fan of the Philadelphia Phillies Baseball team.
He was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Tannersville.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Barbara Storm of Tannersville; six grandchildren, Jody Chesko of Tannersville, Chad Storm of Tannersville, Jennifer Kinsmann of Newton, Conn., Jacqueline Jursek of Medway, Mass., Juliette Raymond of Brookline, Mass., and Jeffrey Janson of San Francisco, Calif.; four great grandchildren, Lucas and Austin Perrin and Alexander and Wesley Jursek; and many nieces and nephews especially Jill Shukaitis, Marie Janson Winterberg and Kathy Yansick and family.
He was preceded in death by a son, H. Allen Janson who died in 1997; two brothers , George Janson Jr. and Louis Janson; two sisters , Mame Rushton and Margaret Janson.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, May 3, at 1 p.m. at the Barger Lodge, Masonic Center, 900 Rimrock Drive, Stroudsburg.
The family will receive friends and relatives on Monday from noon to 1 p.m. at the Masonic Center.

Louise E. Normyle, 79, of Reeders, died Wednesday, April 28, in the University of Pennsylvania Hospital, Philadelphia.
She was the wife of Richard J. Normyle to whom she was married for 61 years.
Born in New York City, New York, she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Edna (Meihan) Spinelli. She had resided in the Reeders area since moving here in 1963. Prior to that, she lived in the Astoria, Long Island area. While living in New York, she worked as a bank teller for several years. She was a member of Our Lady of Victory Roman Catholic Church, Tannersville.
In addition to her husband, Richard, she is survived by a son, Richard J. Normyle II of Tannersville and five daughters , Arlene Ryan of New York City, N.Y., Maureen Godwin of Hampton Bay, L.I., Eileen Lederer of San Francisco, Calif., Coleen Normyle of Stroudsburg, and Laureen Reiner of Kunkletown; a sister, Viola Ryan of New York City, N.Y.; and eight grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, May 1, at 9 a.m. from Our Lady of Victory Roman Catholic Church, Tannersville with the Rev. Henry E. Zapotocki as celebrant.
Cremation will follow in the H.G. Smith Crematory.
Visitation will be Friday, April 30, from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at the Joseph J. Pula Funeral Home, 23 N. Ninth Street, Stroudsburg.

Victor J. Spirito, 67, of Easton, and formerly of Stroudsburg, was found dead at his residence on Wednesday, April 21.
Born on March 8, 1932, in Elizabeth, N.J., he was the son of the late Frank and Selma (Mueller) Spirito and had lived in Stroudsburg for most of his life until moving to Easton in October, 1998.
He had attended the First Presbyterian Church of Stroudsburg.
He is survived by a sister, Anita K. Spirito, of Bradley Beach, N.J.
Graveside funeral services will be held on Monday, May 3, at 2 p.m. in Laurelwood Cemetery, Stroudsburg, with the Rev. Carol S. Brown officiating.
