Richard T. Weirich, 55, of Pocono Pines, died on Sunday, April 4, at Pocono Medical Center in East Stroudsburg. He was the husband of the late Linda (McNally) Weirich, who died in 1993.
He was born in Stroudsburg, the son of the late Arthur and Alice (Sansenbach) Weirich.
He was the Tobyhanna Township Road Foreman for 20 years. He was a member of the Tobyhanna Township Volunteer Fire Company for 20 years. He was a past commander of the sons of the American Legion, Post 413 in Pocono Lake.
He is survived by two sons , Edward J. Weirich and Erick T. Weirich both of Pocono Pines; a daughter, Ann Yorke of Lansford; four grandchildren; two brothers , Robert A. Weirich of East Stroudsburg and Barry F. Weirich of Pocono Lake; three sisters , Joan Knecht and Patricia Reed both of Pocono Pines, and Donna Burke of Pocono Summit; and many nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, April 8, in the Salem United Church of Christ in Pocono Lake, with the Reverend Nevin L. Kershner officiating.
Interment will be private in the Pocono Lake Cemetery. There will be no viewing.

Frederick R. Duckloe

Frederick R. Duckloe, age 77, Stroud Township, died Sunday, April 4, 1999 at home. He was the husband of the late Pauline (Clemens) Duckloe, who died in 1982.
Born in Doylestown, he was the son of William J. and Emma (Koehler) Duckloe. He was the founder of Frederick Duckloe & Bros. Inc., furniture manufacturers in Portland.
He was a sergeant in the Seventh Armored Division, U.S. Army in Europe during World War II and a member of the Stroudsburg VFW Post 2540. Mr. Duckloe is a past board member of First Valley Bank. He was the constable of Portland in 1940.
He is survived by a daughter, Barbara Townsend, a son Frederick B. Duckloe, a brother Norman K. Duckloe, all of Stroud Township, four grandchildren and two nieces.
A memorial service will be held at 5 p.m., Wednesday, April 7, 1999 at Woods Gate, Stroudsmoor Country Inn. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Pocono Medical Center, department of emergency medicine, 206 East Brown Street, East Stroudsburg, Pa. 18301.

Helen M. Thomas

Helen M. Thomas, 82, of Hamilton Square, died Tuesday, April 6, in the Pleasant Valley Manor Nursing Home, Snydersville, where she was a resident.
She was the widow of Moses H. Thomas who died in 1969.
Born in Beaver Valley, she was the daughter of the late Walter and Fleda (Storm) Lessig. She was a resident of Hamilton Square for the past ten years and prior to that resided in the Wilkes-Barre area for 45 years. She was employed as a seamstress for various garment mills in the Wilkes-Barre Area.
She was a member of the Second Welsh Congregational Church of Wilkes-Barre and was also a member of the Amalgamated Ladies Garment Union.
She is survived by two brothers , Charles Lessig of Hamilton Square and Milo Lessig of Millsboro, Del.; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, April 9, at 1 p.m. from the Joseph J. Pula Funeral Home, 23 N. Ninth Street, Stroudsburg. Burial will be in the Stroudsburg Cemetery.
Visitation will be on Friday from noon until the time of the services at the funeral home.

Gertrude J. Post, 82, of Quakertown, died Tuesday in Quakertown Hospital. She was the wife of the late Carl E. Post who died in 1989.
Born on September 26, 1916 in East Stroudsburg, she was the daughter of the late Timothy and Ann (Henry) Miller and had lived in Quakertown since 1947 where she had worked for Satlers Ribbon Mill.
She is survived by a son, Claude Post of Quakertown; five grandchildren and five great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Doris Schwager and a sister, Evelyn Heller.
Funeral services, will be held on Friday at 1:30 p.m. in the William H. Clark Funeral Home, 1003 Main Street, Stroudsburg, with the Rev. Henry E. Eisenhart officiating. Burial will follow in the Evergreen Hill Memorial Garden, East Stroudsburg.
There will be a viewing on Friday from 12:30 p.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home.

Albert S. Wescott

Albert S. Wescott, 84, of Cresco, died Tuesday, April 6, at Pocono Medical Center, East Stroudsburg. He was the husband of Madeline (Nauman) Wescott. Albert and Madeline would have celebrated their 59th wedding anniversary on July 9, 1999.
Born on March 22, 1915, in East Stroudsburg, he was the son of the late Herman Wescott and Clara (Frailey) Miller. He had resided in Monroe County all of his life. Albert retired after working 33 years at the Ronson Corporation, Delaware Water Gap. He was a 45 year veteran of the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers Lodge #1800. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles #1106, Stroudsburg. He was a member of the Canadensis United Methodist Church.
He was the last surviving member of a family of eight children. In addition to his wife, he is survived by five children, Ruth Ann Williams of Tannersville, Robert Wescott of Bath, Al Wescott of Mountainhome, Beverly Varvel of Cresco, and Edwin Wescott of Canadensis. He is also survived by ten grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Friday at 11 a.m. in the William H. Clark Funeral Home, 1003 Main Street, Stroudsburg, with Rev. Russell E. Walters officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Appenzell.
There will be a viewing on Thursday from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at the funeral home.

John S. Shinn

John S. "Jack" Shinn, 84, East Stroudsburg, died on Thursday at Pocono Medical Center in East Stroudsburg. He was the husband of the late Madelyn (Edwards) Shinn who died in 1994.
Born in Echo Lake, he was the son of the late Arthur T. and Edith (Dade) Shinn. He was a lifelong resident of Monroe County.
He was the longtime owner of Vacation Valley in Echo Lake, now Caesar's Pocono Palace. After he sold Vacation Valley, he worked as a civil engineer, most recently with Saw Creek before retiring in 1991.
He was a member and past president of Shawnee Country Club; member and past president of the Pocono Mountain Vacation Bureau; the Rotary Club of the Stroudsburg; and the Elks Lodge #319, East Stroudsburg. He was a member of the board of directors for the Stroudsburg National Bank; 1st Eastern Bank; Pocono Medical Center; and East Stroudsburg School Authority.
He was a member of Christ Episcopal Church in Stroudsburg.
He is survived by a daughter, Deborah Gavalas of East Stroudsburg; two grandsons, Christopher Gavalas of Stroudsburg and John M. Shinn of Kingston. He was preceded in death by a son, John S. Shinn Jr., who died in 1987.
Funeral Services will be held on Monday, April 12, at 11 a.m., at Christ Episcopal Church, 205 North Seventh Street, Stroudsburg. Burial will be in the Laurelwood Cemetery, Stroudsburg.
There will be no viewing.
Memorial donations should be made to a charity of the donor's choice.

Kevin S. Sullivan Sr., 42, of Effort, formerly of Dumont, N.J., died Friday, April 9, at Pocono Medical Center in East Stroudsburg.
He was born in Englewood, N.J. and lived there, until nine years ago when he moved to Effort.
He was a retired auto mechanic from Greenwich Chrysler-Plymouth in Greenwich, Conn.
Surviving are his three daughters , Karianne, Jaclyn and Stefanie Sullivan; his son Kevin Sullivan Jr.; four brothers , Michael, Daniel, Keith, and Christopher Sullivan; and his grandson Tyler.
The funeral mass will be held at 9:30 a.m. Monday, April 12, in St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church, Dumont.
The burial will be in George Washington Memorial Park in Paramus, N.J.

James L. "Skip" Hannon

James L. "Skip" Hannon, 67, of Effort died Friday, April 9, in his home. He was the husband of Audrey (Rader) Hannon. They had observed their 46th wedding anniversary in May of 1998.
Born in Wilkes-Barre, he was the son of the late Walter and Anna (Geshel) Hannon.
He had worked for R.W. Altemose & Son in Brodheadsville for the past 10 years. Prior to that, he had been a school bus driver in the Pleasant Valley School District for five years and previously had worked for Mack Trucks in Allentown for 33 years, retiring from there in 1987.
He was a
Korean War Army veteran. He was a member of the American Legion Post 927 in Gilbert, the
Korean War Veterans Association, and the UAW Local 677.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by three sons , Stanley Hannon of Winsboro, South Carolina, James Hannon of Bethlehem, and Tim Hannon of Saylorsburg; two brothers , Robert Hannon in Florida and Donald Hannon in Texas ; a sister, Margaret Bush of Wilkes-Barre; nine grandchildren; and one great grandchild.
He was preceded in death by three brothers , Walter, Daniel, and Sheldon Hannon; and two sisters , Marie White and Patsy Jean Kinney.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 13, from the Kresge Funeral Home, Route 209, Brodheadsville, with the Rev. Michael Frost officiating.
Burial will be in Hillside Cemetery in Effort. A viewing will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday, April 12.

Rosella D. Caponigro, 91, of 212 North Fifth Street in Bangor died Friday, April 9 at home. She was the wife of the late Jerry Caponigro who died in 1992.
Born on March 1, 1908 in Carbondale, she was the daughter of the late Alfonso and Elizabeth Mathias Sirianni.
She was a homemaker. She was a member of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church in Roseto, and the Ladies Sodality. She was a member of St. David's Welsh Society of the Slate Belt and the Roseto Senior Citizens.
She is survived by four daughters , Rachael Cerra of Old Bridge N.J., Elizabeth Spaziani of Easton, Margaret DeNardo of Wind Gap, and Diane of Bangor; one son, Gerald of Jersey City, N.J.; a brother, Samuel Sirianni of Atlanta, Ga.; 13 grandchildren; and 20 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Joyce; a son, Albert; a brother, Albert; and a sister, Elizabeth.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday, April 12, in Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, Third and Garibaldi Aves. in Roseto. Interment will be in the New Catholic Cemetery, Roseto.
Call from 7 to 9 p.m. on Sunday, April 11 and from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. on Monday, April 12 in the Fiore Funeral Home, Third and Market Streets, Bangor.
