Harry J. Marmorstein, age 70, of Albrightsville, died on Thursday, March 25, at Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center in Wilkes-Barre. He was the husband of Stephanie (Wyskanycz) Marmorstein. They had been married 45 years.
Born in Jersey City, he was the son of the late Harry D. and Margaret (England) Marmorstein.
He had worked for Keuffel and Esser as a Senior Systems Analyst in Morristown, New Jersey for over 20 years.
He was a United States Army Veteran having served during the
Korean War. He was a member of Holy Trinity Eastern Orthodox Church in Stroudsburg.
In addition to his wife, Stephanie, he is survived by three sons , Harry John Marmorstein of Havertown, David Paul Marmorstein of Scottsdale, Arizona and Theodore Steven of Albrightsville; one sister, Lillian Distefano of Asbury Park, N.J.; and seven grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 9 a.m. on Monday, March 29, at the Holy Trinity Eastern Orthodox Church in Stroudsburg, with the Rev. Father Neal Carrigan as celebrant. Interment will be in the Graceland Memorial Cemetery in Kenilworth, N.J. Viewing will be held from 1:30 to 5 p.m. on Sunday, March 28, with a Parastas Service at 4 p.m., at the Donald N. J. Luther Miller, 87, of Dover, N.J. died on Thursday, March 18, at Holy Cross Hospital, Fort Lauderdale, Florida. He was the husband of Elsie (Ahlers) Miller.
Born in Scranton, he was the son of the late Frederick and Bess (Pitman) Miller.
Prior to his retirement in 1974, he was a Right-of-Way agent for J.C.P. & Light Co. in Dover.
He was a member of Acacia Lodge No. 20 F. & A.M. for over 50 years and was a charter member at the time of his death; a member of the Dover Elks Lodge #782 for over 50 years; and a member of the First United Methodist Church of Dover.
He served in the United States Navy during World War II.
In addition to his wife, Elsie, he is survived by a brother, Frederick Miller Jr. of New Bern, N.C.; a brother-in-law, James Earl Stoll of Dover; many nieces and nephews; and many great-nieces and great-nephews.
Funeral services were conducted at the Tuttle Funeral Home in Randolph, N.J. at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, March 24. The burial was on the same day at Millbrook Methodist Cemetery in Randolph. Visitation was from 3 to 5 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. on Tuesday, March 23 at the funeral home.

Roger L. Kitchen

Roger L. Kitchen, 76 years of age, of Stroud Township, died on Thursday, March 25, in the New York University Hospital, in N.Y.C., following a long illness. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, the former Marjorie Peterson.
Born on August 16, 1922 in Columbia, N.J., he was the son of the late Roger and Mary (Pascoe) Kitchen. He lived in Columbia all his life, until moving to Stroud Township in 1981.
Until his retirement in 1988, he worked in the maintenance department of Oxford Textile Inc., Oxford, N.J. for 30 years.
He was an Army platoon sergeant during World War II in "Co. D," 508 Parachute Regiment, 82nd Airborne from 1942 to 1945, and was part of the invasion forces of Normandy, Holland and Belgium.
He was a member and past commander or Knowlton American Legion Post 418; member of the Disabled American Veterans; member of Blairstown Masonic Lodge #165, F & AM; past member of the Knowlton Township, N.J. Board of Education; and a member of the International Association of R.S. Prussia Collectors, Inc.
In addition to his wife, Marjorie, he is survived by one daughter, Cynthia Denker of White Township, N.J.; four brothers , Alois P. Kitchen of Columbia, N.J., Jay R. Kitchen of Bethlehem, Charles B. Kitchen of Stroudsburg, and Ernest Crisman of Florida; two sisters , Louise Hansen and Gloria Hardiman, both of Columbia, N.J.; three grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Monday, March 29, at the Newbaker Funeral Home, Route 94, Blairstown, N.J. The burial will follow in Pequest Union Cemetery, Great Meadows, N.J. Visitation will be one hour prior to the time of service.

Joan A. Knapp, 68, of Tamiment, died on Thursday, March 25, at home. She was the wife of Russell E. Knapp, at home. They had celebrated 46 years of marriage.
She was born in Brooklyn, New York, the daughter of the late John and Natalie M. (Banker) Bossong. She had been a resident of Pike County for the past 11 years and prior to that of Nanuet, N.Y.
She was a homemaker for 46 years and prior to that, she was a bank teller. She was a member of St. John's Catholic Church in Marshalls Creek.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by a daughter, Debra A. Knapp of Dallas, Texas ; two sons , David R. Knapp of Rochelle Park, N.J., and Jeffrey H. Knapp of Manhattan, N.Y.; a grandson, John D. Knapp of Rochelle Park, N.J.; a sister, Muriel Arigot of Monroe, N.Y.; a brother, Robert Bossong of Englewood, N.J.; and many nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Monday, March 29, at St. John Catholic Church, Milford Road, East Stroudsburg with Msgr. Kevin O'Neill officiating.
Interment will be in the Prospect Cemetery, East Stroudsburg. Relatives and friends may pay their respects at 9 a.m. until the time of the Mass at the church, on Monday.

Dominic N. Scartelli

Dominic N. Scartelli, age 63 of Pocono Lake, died Sunday, March 28 at his home. He was the loving husband of Janet (Bentley) Scartelli. They had been married 27 years.
Born in Dunmore, on October 28, 1935, he was the son of Anna (Noto) Scartelli of Scranton and the late Nicholas Scartelli.
He was a 1960 graduate of the Drexel University in Philadelphia.
He was an Aerospace Engineer for Boeing in Ridley Park for 16 years. He had also worked as a Facilities Engineer for the Tobyhanna Army Depot in Tobyhanna for 14 years, until his retirement in 1995. He and his wife owned and operated Dominic's Pizza in Pocono Lake, from 1981 until the present.
He was a member of Christ The King Catholic Church in Blakeslee, and the Mahoning Valley Country Club in Lehighton.
In addition to his loving wife, Janet, and beloved mother , Anna, he was the loving Father of three children: one son, Douglas and his wife Susan of Bethlehem; two daughters , Nicole Scartelli and Danielle Scartelli both at home; a brother, Joseph Scartelli of Selinsgrove; and two granddaughters, Jennifer and Christina Scartelli both of Bethlehem.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, March 31, at Christ The King Catholic Church in Blakeslee with the Rev. Father Raymond Deviney celebrant. Interment will be in St. Catherine's Cemetery in Moscow.

Marian A. (Acker) Verity passed away suddenly at her home in Pocono Lake, on Monday, March 22. She is survived by Harold, her loving husband of 60 years.
Born in Southampton, Long Island, she was the daughter of the late Edward and Elizabeth (Tooker) Verity.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her daughter, Janet E. Moore of Lewis, Delaware; two grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was a member of the Thornhurst Volunteer Fire Co. Women's Auxiliary.

Thelma B. Walck

Thelma B. Walck, 84, of Wind Gap the last 8 ½ years, formerly of Pen Argyl, died Friday, March 26, 1999, in Easton Hospital.
Born Sept. 27, 1914, in East Stroudsburg, she was the daughter of the late Arthur M. and Ruth Swayze Drake.
For many years she worked for the former Lenape Silk Mill in East Stroudsburg. She also assisted her husband in his antique business for about 25 years, Walck's Antiques in Delabole.
She was a member of St. Luke's United Church of Christ, Belfast.
She was the wife of the late George Walck, who died April 6, 1980.
She is survived by two daughters , Judy Hahn of Wind Gap and Cathy Bonser of Brodheadsville; three grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
She is also survived by three sisters : Clara Nottle of Cochranton; Bessie Singer of Scranton; and Joan Hiller of Fayetteville, N.Y.; and a brother, Robert Drake Sr. of Phoenixville. She is preceded in death by a sister, Evelyn Fuge.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, March 20 at 11 a.m. at the Guerro & Ruggiero Funeral Home, 126 E. Pennsylvania Ave., Pen Argyl. There will be a viewing one hour prior to services at the funeral home. Interment will be in Wind Gap Cemetery, Plainfield Township.

Johanna Hickey

Johanna "Josephine" Hickey, 91, of Glendora, N.J., returned to the loving arms of her Heavenly Father on March 26, 1999. She died at Pocono Medical Center from natural causes. She was the wife of the late Edmund Hickey who died in 1985. They were married for 54 years.
Born on August 24, 1907, in Limerick Ireland, the daughter of the late Dennis and Bridget Muvihill. She lived in Glendora, N.J., for the past 44 years, where she was a homemaker and attended St. Theresa's Roman Catholic Church in Runnemede, N.J.
She is survived by three daughters : Maureen McCullough of East Stroudsburg; Joan Walker of Tuckerton, N.J.; and Geraldine Merriam of Wenona, N.J.; 13 grandchildren: Dennis McCullough of Hershey; Edward McCullough of Pittston; Eileen Fields of Chambersburg; Colleen Sellers of Tuckerton, N.J.; Daniel Walker of Tuckerton, N.J.; Kathleen Chell of Stroudsburg; Maureen Coppola of Stroudsburg; Charleen Burd of Pitman, N.J.; Patricia Gilbert of Lake Tahoe, Nev.; Christine Montenaro of Turnersville, N.J.; Josephine Mullins of Stroudsburg; Michelle Walker of Tuckerton, N.J.; and Christopher Walker of Tuckertown, N.J.
She is also survived by 26 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson. She is preceded in death by a daughter, Eileen Sheridan.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a funeral service at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, March 31 at Gardeners Funeral Home in Runnemede, N.J.
