Benjamin J. Fry, 25, of Lancaster, Ohio, died Sunday, March 14, 1999, in Columbus, Ohio.
Born in Stroudsburg, Oct. 6, 1973, he was the son of James R. Fry, husband of Brenda, of Lancaster, Ohio, and Cynthia Chryst, wife of John, of Wind Gap.
He was employed as a plumbing contractor for Freeland Contracting Co., Lancaster, Ohio.
He was a 1992 graduate of Nazareth Area High School, and attended Ohio State University. While at Nazareth High School, he participated in wrestling and soccer and was the scholar athlete of the soccer team.
He was a member of St. Elizabeth's of Hungary, Pen Argyl.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by a brother, Jeffrey J. of Wind Gap, and maternal grandparents, Charles and Rose Giltner of Stroudsburg.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1 p.m., Thursday, March 18, 1999, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Lehigh Ave., Wind Gap. There will be a viewing from 10 a.m. until 12 noon at the Guerro & Ruggiero Funeral Home, 126 E. Pennsylvania Ave., Pen Argyl.
Interment will be in Laurelwood Cemetery, Stroudsburg.

Emma Kate McNulty, infant daughter of Patrick J. and Jessica E. (Miller) McNulty of Orlando, Fla., died on Thursday, March 11, at the Sandlake Hospital in Orlando, Fla.
She was born in Orlando, Fla. In addition to her parents, she is survived by maternal grandparents, Michael and Donna Miller of Delaware Water Gap; paternal grandparents, Robert J. McNulty of Stroudsburg; paternal grandparents, Barbara and Roger Seese of Canadensis; paternal great-grandmother, Patricia Kircher of Orlando, Fla.; maternal great-grandparents, Albert and Pearl Miller of Scranton; maternal great-grandmother, Harriet Geisshardt of Scranton; aunts and uncles, Jennifer and Jason Sheldon of West Palm Beach, Fla.; Jason Seese of Canadensis; a great-aunt, Judith Arndt of Orlando, Fla.
Private funeral services and interment were held in Stroudsburg.

Thomas F. Meckes Sr., of Long Pond, died Tuesday, March 16, at his home in Long Pond.
He was the husband of Dorothy (Luton) Meckes. They had celebrated their 61st wedding anniversary.
Born in Long Pond, he was the son of the late Harrison and Ada Mae (Keiper) Meckes.
He was a self-employed farmer in Long Pond for most of his life. In addition to his farming, he had worked at Bethlehem Steel in Bethlehem and also for the Bethlehem Water Authority-National Weather Service in Bethlehem. He had worked for White Haven Powder Mills in White Haven. He had also worked for Harold Burger Lumbering in Kresgeville and worked for various contractors on road construction.
He was of the Methodist Faith and had attended Blakeslee United Methodist Church in Blakeslee.
He was an avid hunter, fisherman, and card player.
In addition to his wife, Dorothy, he is survived by three sons , Thomas F. Meckes Jr. and his wife Patricia of Effort, Richard David Meckes Sr. and his wife Shirley of Tannersville, and Eugene Meckes and his wife Cathy of Bonita Springs, Fla.; four daughters , Marlene wife of Rudolph Kovalefski of Long Pond, Rose Marie wife of Edward Simon of Greentown, Doris wife of Frank Frailey of Swiftwater, and Ruth Carol Meckes of Long Pond. He is also survived by two sisters , Claire Binkley of Scotrun and Gymane Bush of East Stroudsburg; two brothers , Claude Meckes of Long Pond and Dewey Meckes of Sciota; 14 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; four great great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a son, Harrison Meckes. He was also preceded in death by six sisters , Cora, Adalaide, Virginia, Jacqueline, Gloria and Golden and five brothers , Louis, Allen, Robert, Miles and Randolph.
Funeral services will begin 11 a.m. Saturday, March 20, at the Donald N. Gower Funeral Home, Route 209, Gilbert with the Pastor Burgess L. Gordon Jr. officiating. Interment will be in the Blakeslee Methodist Cemetery in Blakeslee.
A viewing will be held Friday, March 19, from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Donald N. Gower Funeral Home, Inc., Route 209, Gilbert.

Miles M. Meckes

Miles "Jake" M. Meckes, 83, of Wilkes-Barre, formerly of Long Pond, died Sunday, March 14, at the Summit Health Care Center in Wilkes-Barre, Born in Cherry Valley, he was the son of the late Harrison and Ada Mae (Keiper) Meckes.
He had been a heavy equipment operator all his life having worked for H.F. Gower in Effort and Harold Burger in Kresgeville until his retirement in 1965.
He was a World War II Decorated Army Veteran serving in the 1st Battalion-179th Infantry. He served in the European Theater receiving a Purple Heart and six Bronze Stars. He was a member of the American Legion Post 413 in Pocono Lake.
He is survived by two sisters , Claire Binkley of Scotrun and Gymane Bush of East Stroudsburg; three brothers , Thomas Meckes of Long Pond, Claude Meckes of Long Pond, and Dewey Meckes of Sciota; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by six sisters , Cora, Adalaide, Virginia, Jacqueline, Gloria, and Golden and four brothers , Louis, Allen, Robert and Randolph.
Full military Honor Graveside Services will be held 11:30 a.m. Thursday, March 18, at Fort Indiantown Gap National Veterans Cemetery in Annville with the Rev. Dale Cowan officiating.
Viewing will be held Wednesday, March 17, from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at the Donald N. Gower Funeral Home, Inc., Route 209, Gilbert, with American Legion services at 8 p.m.

Andrew E. Muldowney, 55, of Stroudsburg, died suddenly on Friday morning, March 12, 1999, at a wooded area on Park Avenue in Stroudsburg.
Born on November 12, 1943, he was a son of Andrew and Barbara Muldowney.
Private burial will take place in Stroudsburg Cemetery.

Janice N. Kuhenbeaker, 59, of Bethlehem, died Monday in St. Luke's Hospital, Fountain Hill.
Born in Long Pond, she was a daughter of Nina (Deubler) Kuhenbeaker of Kunkletown and the late Augustus Kuhenbeaker.
She had been a nurses aid with VNA of Eastern PA for the past three years. Prior to that, she had worked for General Electric in Allentown for 25 years, before retiring in 1985.
She was a member of the First United Church of Christ in Palmerton.
In addition to her mother , she is survived by four brothers : Thurwald and Wesley Kuhenbeaker, both of Kunkletown; Charles Kuhenbeaker of Torrance, Calif.; and William Kuhenbeaker of Gilbert; two sisters , Thelma Cramer of Stroudsburg and Shirley, wife of Cliff Erickson of Arizona; and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday from the Kresge Funeral Home, Route 209, Brodheadsville, with the Rev. Emily Jean Gilbert officiating. Entombment will be in the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mausoleum in Northampton. A viewing will be held on Thursday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service.

Philip Pasquini
March 14, 1999
Philip Pasquini, age 95, of Somers Point, N.J., died on Sunday at Shore Memorial Hospital, Somers Point, N.J. He was born in Philadelphia and lived in Mountainhome before moving to Somers Point, N.J., in September.
Before retiring, Mr. Pasquini was a salesman for Cudahey Meats of Philadelphia. He was the house manager for 35 years for the Pocono Playhouse of Mountainhome. He was a life member of Barrett Township Lions of Mountainhome and received the Bobby Jones Fellowship Award.
Surviving are two nieces, Margaret Aspenberg of Somers Point, N.J., and Tommie Pasquini of Villas, N.J.; and a nephew, Henry of Lower Bank, N.J.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday at 9:30 a.m. at Holy Cross Cemetery, Yeadon.

Evelyn P. Schollhammer

Evelyn P. Schollhammer, 60, of Stroudsburg, died Tuesday at home. She was the wife of the late John D. Schollhammer who died in 1997.
Born on January 3, 1939, in Stroudsburg, she was the daughter of the late Howard Harry and Irene Elizabeth (Clewell) Pensyl and had lived in the area all of her life. She was a registered nurse having worked at Pocono Medical Center in East Stroudsburg., the Slate Belt Medical Center in Bangor and the last seven years for the Lehigh Valley Hospice.
A graduate of the School of Cosmetology in the 1960's in Lawton, Okla., she earned her LPN and later her RN from Northampton County Community College and was working toward her BSN at St. Joseh's College in Standish, Maine. She was a member of the East Stroudsburg United Methodist Church and the Order of the Eastern Star, Chapter 99.
She is survived by three sons , Terrence W. Schollhammer and Bryan M. Schollhammer, both of Stroudsburg and Todd M. Schollhammer of Winchester, Va., a grandson, Michael of Independence, Mo.; a granddaughter, Alison of Tannersville; three brothers , Jacob H. Pensyl, Glenn L. Pensyl and Donald S. Pensyl, all of Stroudsburg; eight sisters , Hazel E. Smith, Berneda L. Kresge, Hilda A. Rundle and Ernestine J. Deibler, all of Stroudsburg, Freda E. Snodgrass of Blue Spring, Mo., Laureen L. Knitter of Pen Argyl, Louise M. Andrews of Allentown, and Joanne Keretz of New Port Richie, Fla.; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a brother, Edwin H. Pensyl and a step brother, Eugene Humphrey.
Eastern Star Services will be held on Thursday at 7:30 p.m. followed by funeral services in the East Stroudsburg United Methodist Church with Rev. Robert Shrom and Rev. Raymond Poortstra officiating. Graveside services and burial will be held on Friday at 10 a.m. in the Stroudsburg Cemetery.
There will be a viewing on Thursday from 6 p.m. until the time of the service at the church.

Stella M. Hamblin, 69, of Upper Mt. Bethel Township, died Monday, March 15, in her home. She was the wife of Robert W. Hamblin. The couple celebrated their 41st wedding anniversary last September 22.
Born November 17, 1929, in Upper Mt. Bethel Township, she was the daughter of the late Paul and Mary (Pedakasa) Poliskiewicz.
She was of the Catholic faith.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by three sons , Robert, Edward, and Paul, all of Upper Mt. Bethel Twp.; one daughter, Mary Pysher of East Stroudsburg; three brothers , John, Philip and Walter Poliskiewicz, all of Upper Mt. Bethel Twp.; one sister, Anila Walasek of Warsaw, Poland; and three grandchildren.
Two brothers , Peter and Joseph Poliskiewicz, died earlier.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11 a.m. on Friday in St. Matthew's Roman Catholic Church, 200 Brodhead Avenue, East Stroudsburg. Burial will be in St. Vincent dePaul Catholic Cemetery in Portland.
Family and friends may call Friday from 10 a.m. until the time of the mass in the church.

Gertrude M. (Farley) Gasser, 88, formerly of LaBar Village, Stroudsburg, died on Tuesday in the Presbyterian Health Center, West Chester. She was the wife of the late Fred Gasser who died in 1974.
Born on May 2, 1910, in Richmond Hill, N.Y., she was the daughter of the late William and Mary (Roache) Farley and had lived most of her life in Richmond Hill, N.Y., where she raised her family and was a regular member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church in Richmond Hill. She moved to Stroudsburg in 1989 and became a member of St. Luke's Roman Catholic Church in Stroudsburg.
She is survived by two daughters , Jane Duggan of Pocono Lake and Eileen O'Shea of Gardner, Mass.; a son, Robert Gasser of Westborough, Mass., and 12 grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, March 18, at 9 a.m. in St. Luke's Roman Catholic Church, Stroudsburg, with Father Carmen Perry as celebrant. Graveside services and burial will follow at 11:45 a.m. in St. John's Cemetery, 80-01 Metropolitan Avenue, Middle Village, N.Y.
There will be a viewing on Wednesday, March 17, from 3 to 5 p.m. and 7 to 8:30 p.m. at the William H. Clark Funeral Home, 1003 Main Street, Stroudsburg.
