Cora Mae Dyson, 72, of Cresco, died Monday, Feb. 22, at home. She was the wife of Lester J. Dyson.
She was born in Muncy, the daughter of the late Charles and Bertha (Boatman) Arthur. She graduated from Muncy High School and Susquehanna University. Before her retirement, she was a teacher for 40 years at the Pocono Mountain School District.
She was a member of the Historical Association of Tobyhanna Township, and the Pocono Lionettes and also volunteered for the Irem Temple Merry Aides.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, James C. and Beverly Dyson; two grandchildren, Peter and Brittany Dyson, all of Cresco; a step-mother , Margaret Beck of Montoursville; three cousins, Fran Fry of Bar Harbor, Maine, Mary Elizabeth Maciejewski of Hughesville, and Myron Boatman of New Castle; and an aunt, Amy Jahn of Macungie.
The Revs. David Crosby Sr. and David Laquintano will conduct a funeral service at 11 a.m. on Friday, Feb. 26, at the Paradise Valley Assembly of God Church, Rt. 940, in Paradise Valley. Interment will follow at Keokee Chapel Cemetery, Paradise Valley.
There will be a visitation from 6 to 9 p.m. on Thursday evening, Feb. 25, at the Bolock Funeral Home, Rts. 940 and 390, Paradise Valley. An additional hour of visitation will be held one hour prior to the funeral services, at the church.

Reverend David E. Humphrey

Reverend David E. Humphrey, 77, of Plainfield Township, died on Monday, Feb. 22, at his residence.
Born in Edelmans on April 29, 1921, he was the son of the late David T. and Martha L. Frack Humphrey.
He was employed as a foreman for the former Blue Ridge Textile, in Bangor, from 1940 - 1956; as a press operator for the Regal Press, in Easton, from 1962 - 1987; and as a bus driver and printer for the Pen Argyl Area School District. He also taught printing classes for the school district. From 1960 to present, he was the owner and operator of Plainfield Press.
He was a member, Sunday School Superintendent, and served on the Board of Trustees at the former Evangelical United Brethren Church, Pen Argyl.
From 1961 - 1963, he was Pastor of Middlecreek Evangelical United Brethren Church; from 1963 - 1970, he was Pastor at Ebenezer Evangelical United Brethren . Church, Lehighton, Evangelical United Brethren Church, Weissport, and Salem Evangelical United Brethren Church, Big Creek. From 1971 to present, he was Pastor at Pocono Union Church, Henryville.
Pastor Humphrey conducted Wednesday afternoon church services at Pleasant Valley Manor Nursing Home, in Hamilton Township.
On May 30, 1975, he became an Ordained Independent Minister. He was a 1939 graduate of Nazareth Area High School, where he played football and baseball, and was the center on the 1938 Lehigh-Northampton League Football Champion Team. He later was the center on the semi-pro Pen Argyl Night Riders.
He was a World War II Army veteran.
He and his wife, the former Edythe M. Repsher, would have celebrated their 56th wedding anniversary on Feb. 27, 1999.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Joan E. Humphrey Mack of Plainfield Township; a son John T. of Washington , D.C.; a grandson and a granddaughter. He was preceded in death by a brother John T. and a sister Miriam A. Gardner.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m., Friday, Feb. 26, at Grace United Methodist Church, 404 E. Mountain Ave., Pen Argyl. Interment will be in Plainfield Cemetery, Plainfield Township. There will be a viewing from 7 to 9 p.m., Thurs., Feb. 25, at the Guerro and Ruggiero Funeral Home, 126 E. Pennsylvania Ave., Pen Argyl, and one hour prior to the funeral services at the church.

Cecilia Soldaini

Cecilia Soldaini, 51, of Kunkletown, died Wednesday, Feb. 24, at the Gnaden Huetten Memorial Hospital in Lehighton. She was the wife of Sergio Soldaini. They had been married 21 years.
Born in Forencia, Colombia, she was the daughter of the late Louis and Mercedes Calderon.
She was a member of Our Lady of Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Gilbert.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by three sons , Remo Soldaini who is serving in the United States Army and stationed in Illesheim, Germany, and Riccardo Soldaini and Renzo Soldaini both at home; and several sisters and brothers .
Funeral services will begin 9:30 a.m., Monday, March 1, at the Donald N. Gower Funeral Home, Inc. Route 209, Gilbert, followed by a 10 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Gilbert, with the Rev. William McCawley celebrant. Interment will be at the convenience of the family.
Viewing will be held Sunday, February 28, from 3 to 5 p.m. at the funeral home.

Frank M. Driscoll, 90, of Mountain Manor, Marshalls Creek, died on Tuesday, Feb. 23, at the Pleasant Valley Manor in Hamilton Township. He was the husband of Ellen (Rogers) Driscoll, at home. They had celebrated 62 years of marriage in October 1998.
He was born in Brooklyn, N.Y., son of the late Thomas J. and Elesha (Clarke) Driscoll. He had been a resident of Monroe County for the past 22 years and prior to that of Brooklyn. He was a member of St. Matthew's Catholic Church in East Stroudsburg.
Prior to his retirement in 1972, he was employed for 35 years by The Bear Stearns Company of New York City as a margin clerk. He was a member of the Mountain Manor Golf Club.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Elesha Kilkenny of Queens, N.Y.; a son, Michael F., husband of Laura Driscoll of Seaford, L.I., N.Y.; three grandchildren, Lauren, Diana, and Anthony Driscoll; and many nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, Feb. 26, at 9:30 a.m. in St. Matthew's Catholic Church, East Stroudsburg.
Interment will be in the St. John's Cemetery, Middle Village, N.Y. There will be no viewing.

Catharine E. Bonser, 90, of R.D. 7 Saylorsburg, died Wednesday in Pleasant Valley Manor, Snydersville. She was the wife of Oscar H. Bonser. They had observed their 75th wedding anniversary on January 4, 1999.
Born in Kellersville, she was the daughter of the late Dimmick and Unetta (Gower) Setzer.
She had been a demonstrator and regional manager for Stanley Home Products for 20 years, retiring in 1979. Prior to that, she had been a waitress in many Saylorsburg restaurants for 15 years.
She was a member of Mount Eaton in Saylorsburg and the Mount Eaton Church Pollyannas Club.
She was a member of the Saylorsburg Playground Association where she had also once served on the board of directors. She was a past president and past recording secretary of the Blue Ridge Hook and Ladder Company Ladies Auxiliary. She was well known for organizing that fire company's penny suppers in the early 1950's. She was also a member and past president of the Saylorsburg Progressive Woman's Club.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by two sons , Robert Bonser of Saylorsburg and Rudolph Bonser of Livingston, Montana; six daughters , Lorrayne Everett, Catharine Ann Hummer, Unetta Hildabrant and Nina DeLorenzo, all of Saylorsburg, Dora Fenner of Snydersville, and Sally Posey in Florida; a sister, Irene Strohl Overpeck of Snydersville; 26 grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren and nine great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, William Bonser.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, from the Kresge Funeral Home, Route 209, Brodheadsville, with the Rev. Robert Hampton officiating. Burial will be in Lakeview Cemetery, Saylorsburg. A viewing will be held on Saturday from 7 to 9 p.m. and on Sunday from 1 to 2 p.m.

James J. Smallman Sr. 69, of Tobyhanna, died on Tuesday, Feb. 23, at the Wilkes-Barre V.A. Center in Wilkes-Barre after an illness. He was the husband of the late Renate (Lange) Smallman, who died in 1988.
Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., he was the son of the late James and Margaret (Bayus) Smallman.
After coming to the Tobyhanna area, he was employed at the Tobyhanna Army Depot as a produce manager until his retirement. He also served in the Armed Forces during the Korean Conflict.
He is survived by his two sons , James Jr. of Mount Pocono and Michael of Tobyhanna; a brother, Jack of Virginia; and a sister, Margaret Gorden of East Stroudsburg.
Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 27, at the James M. Hook & Co. Funeral Directors, 35 Sterling Road, Mount Pocono.

William Wagner, 60, of Mount Pocono, died Thursday, Feb. 25, at home. He was the husband of Florence (Burke) Wagner.
He was born in Brooklyn, N.Y., the son of the late James and Veronica (Hamm) Wagner.
He was a former machinist and U.S. Navy veteran.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, William J. Wagner of Snydersville, James Wagner of Mount Pocono, and Alice Salvadori of Stroudsburg; a brother, Joseph Delahanty of Owego, N.Y.; a sister, Patricia Vittelio of East Islip, L.I.; and five grandchildren, Christopher, Michelle, and Matthew Salvadori of Stroudsburg, and Johnathan and Robert Wagner of Mount Pocono.

John J. Farrell, 67, of 12 Lexington Lane, Mount. Bethel and Pocono Heights Development, Marshalls Creek, died on Thursday, Feb., 25, at the Easton Hospital in Easton. He was the husband of Catharine Farrell.
He was the director of taxes for the International Nickel Co.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons , John Farrell of Conn. and Louis Farrell of Lansdale; three daughters , Judith Ryan of Miss., Colleen Kosinski of N.C., and Melissa Farrell of N.J.; and two sisters , Patricia Watson, of Clifton, and Madeline Delores Farrell of Feasterville.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 27, at St. Vincent's Church, Portland. Cremation arrangements will be handled by Cremation Society of Pennsylvania , 4100 Jonestown Road, Harrisburg.

Harry C. Deihl

Harry C. Deihl, 64, of Minisink Hills, died on Friday, Feb. 26, at the Pocono Medical Center in East Stroudsburg.
He was born in Scotrun, the son of the late Clinton J. and Lillian G. (Rice) Deihl. He was a lifelong resident of Monroe County. He was a veteran of the United States Army. He was a graduate of East Stroudsburg High School, class of 1954.
Prior to his retirement, he was self-employed as a carpenter.
He is survived by two daughters , Stacy Zimmerman and Justine Zimmerman both of Zainesville, Ohio; a brother, Pete Deihl of Florida; three grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a brother, Edward Deihl.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m., Tuesday, March 2, at the Lanterman & Allen Funeral Home, 27 Washington St., East Stroudsburg, with the Reverend Raymond Poortstra officiating.
Interment will be in the Prospect Cemetery, East Stroudsburg. Relatives and friends may pay their respects at 12:30 p.m., on Tuesday, until the time of the services at the funeral home.
