Stanley P. Lenner

February 20, 1999

Stanley P. Lenner, 91, of Stroud Township, died Saturday, Feb. 20, at home. He was the husband of Margaret (Powell) Lenner.

Born on Dec. 4, 1907, in Brooklyn, N.Y., he was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Lenner.

He had worked for R.H. Macy's Department Store in New York City for 35 years as a salesman in the carpet division until his retirement in 1969. He was a member of the Local 15 Macy's Department Store Union in New York.

A veteran of World War II, he served in the U.S. Army. He was a member of St. Luke's Catholic Church in Stroudsburg and the YMCA in Stroudsburg.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by a niece, Ann Marie Polanin of Dunmore.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 23, at St. Luke's Roman Catholic Church, Main Street, Stroudsburg. Burial will be in St. Mary's Mount Carmel Cemetery in Dunmore.

A viewing will be held from 9 to 9:45 a.m. on Wednesday at Lanterman & Allen Funeral Home. At the request of the family, memorial donations may be made to St. Luke's Roman Catholic Church, Main Street, Stroudsburg, PA 18360.

Maryanne Lubarski

February 20, 1999

Maryanne Lubarski, 41, of Effort, died Saturday, Feb. 20, at the Lehigh Valley Hospital Center in Allentown. She was the wife of Robert Lubarski. They had been married 14 years.

Born in Scranton on June 23, 1957, she was the daughter of John and Jean (McGovern) Hamilton of Wayne.

She had worked as a lab technician at the White Eagle Lab in Doylestown for six years and at Connaught Lab in Swiftwater during the Desert Storm War.

She was a member of Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Gilbert.

In addition to her husband Robert and her parents, she is survived by a son, Robert Max Lubarski; three daughters , Nicolet Jean Lubarski, Maryanne Lynna Lubarski and Emily Rose Lubarski at home; and a sister, Jean Marie, wife of Scott Flemming of Pottstown.

Funeral services will begin at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 24, at the Donald N. Gower Funeral Home, followed by an 11 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Gilbert with the Rev. William McCawley celebrant. Interment will be in the Gilbert Cemetery, Gilbert. Visitation will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 23, at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the John and Dorothy Morgan Cancer Center, Lehigh Valley Hospital Center, Cedar Crest Boulevard, Allentown, PA.

Frances Kane

February 20, 1999

Frances Kane, 79, of Gilbert, died Saturday, Feb. 20, at the Pocono Medical Center in East Stroudsburg. She was the wife of Martin Kane. They had been married 47 years.

Born in New York City, N.Y., she was the daughter of the late Salvator and Julia (Rosenfeild) Storino.

She had worked for Krusman Corporation in New York for more than 20 years. She was of the Jewish faith.

She was a member of the Young at Heart Senior Citizens in Kresgeville and the Bronx House for Senior Citizens in New York City.

In addition to her husband Martin, she is survived by two daughters , Michele, wife of Carmine D'Agesto of Brooklyn, N.Y., and Wendy Breihof of Gilbert; a sister, Rose Sperandio of New Rochelle, N.Y.; a brother, Thomas Storino of Bronx, N.Y.; three grandchildren, Cheryl Breihof and Cindy Breihof, both of Allentown, and Scott Breihof of Stroudsburg; and two great-grandchildren, Brandon and Peter Breihof, both of Stroudsburg.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. today at the Donald N. Gower Funeral Home with the Rabbi Sheldon D. Davis officiating. Interment will be in the Laurelwood Cemetery in Stroudsburg.

There will be no viewing.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association, P.O. Box 1392, Bethlehem, PA 18018.

Anna W. Klingel

February 21, 1999

Anna W. Klingel, 95, of East Stroudsburg, died on Sunday, Feb. 21, at Milford Manor, in East Stroudsburg. She was the wife of the late Floyd Klingel, who died in 1976.

Born in Newton, N.J., she was the daughter of the late Charles and Anna May (Almack) Wright. She was a member of St. Paul's United Church of Christ in Sellersville.

She was employed by A.B. Wyckoff's Department Store for several years. She was a resident of Sellersville from 1956 to 1982 when she moved back to the East Stroudsburg area.

She attended the Stroudsburg Wesleyan Church.

She is survived by a son, Charles Klingel, East Stroudsburg; five grandchildren; and seven great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a daughter, June Doolittle.

Graveside funeral services will be held on Wednesday, Feb. 24, at 12:30 p.m. from the Sellersville Church Cemetery, Sellersville, with the Rev. George H. Schmidt, Jr. officiating.

There will be a viewing on Wednesday, Feb. 24, from 10 to 11 a.m. at the Thomas Funeral Home, 401 North Fifth Street, Stroudsburg.

Memorial donations should be made to the charity of the donor's choice.

Earl Henry Strunk

January 3, 1999

Earl Henry Strunk, 81, died January 3, 1999, at his residence in Albemarle County, Virginia. He was born in East Stroudsburg, PA, the son of Moses and Elizabeth Strunk. A son, Christopher E. Strunk and one grandson, residing in New York and a daughter, Wendy H. Russo and two grandchildren, residing in Virginia; as well as two sisters , Joan S. Neuweiler, residing in Massachusetts and Janet S. Myers, residing in California and a brother, Harold Strunk, residing in Florida, survive him.

Mr. Strunk was a graduate of Penn State University with a degree in Architectural/Engineering. He was a member of the Architects' Institute of America and was licensed in Florida, Pennsylvania and Virginia. He was formerly an associate with the New York firm of Antonin Raymond who designed and built many projects for the Department of Defense during World War II. Mr. Strunk was a World War II Veteran, in the Army Corp Of Engineers. His architectural specialty was Hospital Design and he contributed his skill to the new, Bellevue Hospital in New York City as well as many other projects.

Memorial and burial services will be held in Pennsylvania in the spring.

Edward Helms, 71, of East Stroudsburg, died on Monday, February 22, at home. He was the husband of Nancy J. (Yatman) Helms, at home.

He was born in Bloomingdale, N.J., a son of the late James C. and Hazel (Taylor) Helms. He had been a resident of Monroe County for the past 23 years and prior to that of Towaco, N.J. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served during World War II.

Prior to his retirement, he was an owner of Homes by Helms of East Stroudsburg for 20 years.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters , Nancy McDevitt of Raeford, N.C., and Kathy Lynn Clifford of East Stroudsburg; a son, Jeffrey Tarzan Helms of East Stroudsburg; eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 27 at 11 a.m. in the Beakleyville Baptist Church, Fawn Road, East Stroudsburg, with the Rev. Arthur L. Benjamin officiating.

Interment will be in the Stroudsburg Cemetery, Stroudsburg. Relatives and friends may pay their respects on Friday evening from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at the Lanterman & Allen Funeral Home, 27 Washington Street, East Stroudsburg.

Michael V. Jeannette

February 18, 1999

Michael V. Jeannette, a resident at Milford Manor, passed away on February 18, 1999, after an illness.

Born in Trenton, N.J., a son of the late Daniel and Theresa (Ruggerio) Jeannette, he resided in the New Jersey area until two years ago. Prior to coming to this area he was employed buy the Department of Justice, State of New Jersey. He served in the United States Army in the Korean Conflict.

He is survived by two brothers , Thomas of Bristol, Pa. and Anthony of Pocono Lake, Pa.; and many nieces and nephews.

Friends may call at the James M. Hook and Co. Funeral Directors, 35 Sterling Road, Mount Pocono, Wednesday, Feb. 24, 9 to 10:30 a.m. Funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home, with Rev. John Churnock, Mt. Pocono United Methodist Church officiating. Interment to follow at Fort Indian Town Gap National Cemetery.

The family requests that memorial contributions be made to Milford Manor, RD#2, P.O. Box 2053, East Stroudsburg, Pa. 18301.

Chester Sypek

February 22, 1999

Chester Sypek, 77, of Stroudsburg, died on Monday, Feb. 22, in the Pocono Medical Center in East Stroudsburg. He was the widower of Stefania (Wyzga) Sypek who died in 1996.

Born in Slupiez, Poland he was a resident of Stroudsburg for the past two years and prior to that he lived in the Paradise Valley area for 14 years. In his earlier years, he lived in the Rutherford and Jersey City, N.J. area after coming to the United States in 1962.

He was employed as a maintenance supervisor with the Chubb & Son, Co Inc. of Lyndhurst, N.J. for 10 years, retiring in 1983. He was a member of Our Lady of Victory Roman Catholic Church of Tannersville.

He is survived by a daughter Christine Froloff of Rutherford; a brother Roman Sypek of Poland; and two grandsons, Mark and Adam Froloff, both of Rutherford.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Thursday, Feb. 25, at Our Lady of Victory Roman Catholic Church of Tannersville with the Rev. Henry E. Zapotocki as celebrant. Burial will be in the Gate of Heaven section of Laurelwood Cemetery in Stroudsburg.

Visitation will be from 7 to 8:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 24, at the Joseph J. Pula Funeral Home, 23 North Ninth St., Stroudsburg.

February 22, 1999

Catherine L. Squires, 54, of East Stroudsburg, died on Monday, February 22, at the Lehigh Valley Hospital Burn Center in Salisbury Township. She was the wife of David C. Squires, at home.

She was born in East Stroudsburg, the daughter of the late William R. and Carrie (Miller) Bonser. She was a member of the Reformed Church of Bushkill. She had been a lifetime resident of Monroe County.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by two sons , David W. Squires of Mount. Bethel and Thomas C Squires of Cleveland, Ohio; three grandchildren, Thomas, Steven and Johnathan Squires; and many nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held on at 3 p.m., on Saturday, Feb. 27, in the Reformed Church of Bushkill, Route 209, Bushkill with the Rev. Robert A. Mohr officiating. There will be no viewing.

Cremation will take place in the H.G. Smith Crematory, Stroudsburg.

The Lanterman & Allen Funeral Home, 27 Washington St., East Stroudsburg is in charge of the arrangements.
