Eleanor S. Leiterman, 66, of Tobyhanna, died Thursday, Feb. 11, 1999, at St. Luke's Regional Trauma Center in Bethlehem.
Mrs. Leiterman was born in Cleveland, Ohio, and had resided in Lynbrook, N.Y., Willingboro, N.J., and Brooklyn, N.Y., until moving to Tobyhanna in 1982.
Prior to her retirement she was assistant general office manager at H.G. Metals Company in Brooklyn, N.Y.
She is survived by her husband, Joseph Leiterman of Tobyhanna; a son, Richard F. Leiterman of Effort; a daughter, Barbara R. Feinman of Hackettstown, N.J.; two brothers , Gene Levy of Chesterfield, Mo.; and Allan Levy of Tamarac, Fla.; and three grandchildren: Jason Feinman of Hackettstown, N.J.; and Lewis and Larrissa Leiterman, both of Effort.
She is also survived by a daughter-in-law, Mariaelena Leiterman of Effort and a son-in-law, Mark Feinman of Hackettstown, N.J.
Graveside services will be held Sunday, Feb. 14, 1999, at Cedar Park Cemetery, Forest Ave., Emerson, N.J., with Rabbi Joseph Herman of Temple Emanuel, Passaic, N.J. officiating.

John Broadhead
February 12, 1999
John "Jack" Broadhead, 82, of Catasauqua, died on February 12 at home. He was the husband of Margaret J. (Stokes) Broadhead at home. They had been married 57 years on Nov. 27.
He was born on Jan. 31, 1917 in Stockport, England, the son of the late Samuel K. and Hannah (Wilde) Broadhead.
He was employed by Scranton Tobacco in Scranton as a sales representative for 23 years, retiring in 1984.
He served as sergeant in the Army Air Corp in World War II. He was a member of the Faith Evangelical Lutheran Church in White hall; the American Legion Post 73 in Shamokin; the Daytona Barbershop Chorus; and Pocono Barbershop Chorus for 20 years.
In addition to his wife he is survived by a daughter, Gloria J., wife of John J. Senchak of White hall; four grandchildren; and 2 great-grandchildren.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 16 at Faith Evangelical Lutheran Church, 3355 Macarthur Road, White hall. Burial will be in St. John's Union Cemetery, White hall.
There will be a visitation from 9 to 10 a.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 12 at the church.
Memorial contributions may be made to the church memorial fund or Visiting Nurse Association of Northeast, PA, both c/o SFH.

Toni Weigmann
February 11, 1999
Toni Weigmann, 99, of Dingmans Ferry, died Thursday at her home in Delaware Township. She was the wife of Max Weigmann.
Born in Hamburg, Germany, she was the daughter of the late Carl and Catharina (Duwer) Stange. She was a resident of Pike County for many years and prior to that, she lived in the New York City area. She rented a boarding home in New York City for many years and later worked in the garment industry as a seamstress.
She was of the Lutheran faith.
She is survived by a daughter, Ilse Ritz, with whom she resided, and a second daughter, Kathren Miloro of Selden, N.Y.; six grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. today from the Joseph J. Pula Funeral Home, 23 N. Ninth St., Stroudsburg with the Rev. William Dennis officiating.
Cremation will take place following the services.

Brendan W. Huggler, infant son of Dr. Scott A. Huggler and Suzan C. Adams Huggler, died Feb. 12 at St. Luke's Hospital in Ft. Hill.
Brendan is survived by his parents; two sisters , Lauren and Kristen, at home; maternal grandparents, Doris and William Adams of Drexel Hill; paternal grandparents, Alice and Jack Hilson of Ransom.
Graveside services will be held 2 p.m. Monday at Upper Holy Family Cemetery in Nazareth.

Mary E. Williams, 89, of Stroudsburg, died Friday, Feb. 12, 1999, in the Stroud Manor Nursing Home in East Stroudsburg. She was the wife of Ray E. Williams, who died in 1976.
Born in Bethlehem, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Clair (Major) Silver. She was a graduate of the Moose Heart in Illinois and lived in the Stroudsburg area for the past 50 years. Prior to that she resided in the Bethlehem area.
She was a member of St. Luke's Roman Catholic Church of Stroudsburg.
She is survived by two nephews, Raymond Silver of Scottsdale, Ariz., and John Silver of Kunkletown; and three nieces, Joan Probst and her daughter, Diane Silver, both of Stroudsburg, Teddi Silver of Kennett Square and Helen Marie Broadfoot of Lake Stevens, Wash.
She was preceded in death by four brothers , Franks, John, Joseph and Raymond Silver, and her infant, Judith Ann Williams.
Graveside funeral services will be held at a day and time to be announced in the Laurelwood Cemetery. Internment will follow the services.

Helmut F. Heinze, 67, of R.R. 1, died Saturday morning in his home. He was the husband of Helene (Bohl) Heinze, at home.
Born on Oct. 8, 1931 in Schmiedeberg, Germany, he was the son of the late Richard and Amalie (Drescher) Heinze and had lived in Monroe County since 1985, moving here from Long Island, N.Y. He had owned and operated his own cabinet-making business in Long Island, N.Y.
He served in the U.S. Navy and was a member of the Berean Bible Fellowship Church, Stroudsburg.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Ronald Heinze of Stroudsburg; two daughters , Susanne Bank, wife of Jurgen, of Boston, Mass., and Cynthia Strohl, wife of Walter of Saylorsburg; two grandchildren, Samantha Bank and Julianne Bank; and a brother, Kurt Heinze, husband of Magdalena of York, Neb.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday in the Berean Bible Fellowship Church, Valley View Drive, Stroudsburg, with the Rev. Carl Cassel officiating. Burial will follow in the Kellers Cherry Valley Cemetery, Cherry Valley.
There will be a viewing from 1 p.m. Monday until the time of service at the church.

Ruth E. Transue, 85, of East Stroudsburg, died Saturday, February 13, at the Stroud Manor in East Stroudsburg. She was the wife of the late Cyrenues Stone VanWhy and the late Kenneth G. Transue.
She was born in Middle Smithfield Township, daughter of the late Wilbur Stettler and Naomi (Strunk) Stettler Place. She had been a resident of Monroe County her entire life.
She is survived by three daughters , Myrtle Makosky of Stroudsburg, Lorraine Meckler of Belfast, Naomi Robbins of Hillsgrove; a son, Richard K. VanWhy of East Stroudsburg; a brother, Kenneth Stettler of East Stroudsburg; two half brothers , John C. Place and Horton M. Place, both of East Stroudsburg; a great-great granddaughter; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday in the Lanterman & Allen Funeral Home, 27 Washington St., East Stroudsburg.
Internment will be in the Prospect Cemetery, East Stroudsburg. Relatives and friends may pay their respects from 12:30 p.m. Tuesday until the time of the service at Lanterman & Allen.

William J. Erm, 19, of Pocono Township, died Friday afternoon, Feb. 12, of injuries sustained in an automobile accident on Route 191 in Stroud Township.
Born on Aug. 16, 1979, in Point Pleasant, N.J., he was the son of Edward V. and Mary S. (Stewart) Erm and had lived in Monroe County since 1991, coming here from Point Pleasant, N.J.
A 1998 graduate of Pocono Mountain High School, he was a freshman at East Stroudsburg University in the computer science program. William was also working as a dishwasher at Birchwood Resort in Tannersville.
He was a member of the Cherry Lane United Methodist Church, played roller hockey at Big Wheel in Stroudsburg and was a part of the technical crew of the Center Stage Players.
Surviving in addition to his parents are a sister, Christine F. Erm at home; a paternal great-grandmother, Victoria Erm of Point Pleasant, N.J.; paternal grandparents, Edward and Elizabeth Erm of Point Pleasant, N.J.; and Jack and Mary Herrmann of Henryville; maternal grandparents, Philip and Mary Stewart of Milford, Del.; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
Funeral services will be held at 8 p.m. on Tuesday from the William H. Clark Funeral Home, with the Rev. Catherine Horn officiating. Following the services, cremation will take place in the H.G. Smith Crematory, Stroudsburg.
Visiting hours will be from 3 to 5 p.m. and from 7 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. A memorial service will be held at a later date at the Cherry Lane United Methodist Church.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorial contributions be made to a charity of one's choice in William's name.

Richard W. Uffleman

Richard W. Uffleman, 75, of Bushkill, formerly of McDonald, died on Sunday, Feb. 14, at home. He was the husband of Audrey J. (Stastny) Uffleman at home. They had been married for 25 years.
He was born in Oakdale, a son of the late Henry and Myrtle (Greenfield) Uffelman. He had been a resident of Pike County for the past 20 years and prior to that of River Edge, N.J.
Prior to his retirement, he was employed by the Fernwood Resort in charge of the heating and air conditioning for many years. Prior to that, he owned and operated R.W. Uffleman Plumbing and Air Conditioning in River Edge for seven years. Prior to that, he was a chief engineer for The Moore-McCormick Lines. He was a member of the Merchant Marines during World War II, Korea and Vietnam.
He was a graduate of Kings Point Maritime School. Prior to that, he was employed by Universal Cyclops Steel in Bridgeville. He was a member of the William Buck Lodge 239 Free and Accepted Masons in New Jersey.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters , Mary Margaret Saks of White house Station, N.J., and Dr. Andrea Jane Bartolussi of Brookdale, N.Y.; a son, Wayne R. Uffleman of Rivervale, N.J.; three step daughters , Lisa Beers of Stroudsburg, Kim Brunton of Ramsey, N.J., and Nadine Nix of River Edge, N.J.; two brothers , Thomas Uffelman of Decatur, Ga., and Loyd Uffelman of Jacksonville, Fla.; a sister, Mary Margaret Aldridge of Greer, S.C.; seven grandchildren, six step grandchildren; several aunts, nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at a later date. There will be no viewing. His remains will be transferred to Humanity Gifts Registry in Philadelphia.
