Ester Louisn, 98, loving mother , grandmother and great-grandmother, of Woodside, Queens, died peacefully Sunday morning, February 7, 1999.
Ester is survived by her daughters Alice Tomanelli of Woodside, N.Y., and Margaret Ahnert of Bushkill and Fort Lauderdale, Fla.
Ester was a devoted grandmother to Margaret and Robert Tomanelli, Lynn Price and Steven Sarajian. She is survived also by her two great-grandchildren, Raymond and Sara Price.
Friends may call at the Edward D. Jamie Memorial Chapel, 141-26 Northern Boulevard, Flushing, N.Y., Wednesday from 2 to 5 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m.
A memorial service will be held at 12 noon Thursday, February 11, at the Edward D. Jamie Memorial Chapel before interment at the Woodlawn Cemetery in New York.

Russell R. Van Buskirk, Jr.

Russell R. Van Buskirk, Jr., 70, of Panther, Pike Company, died Wednesday at Pocono Medical Center. He was the husband of Frances Weinland Van Buskirk to whom he had been married for 48 years.
Born in Panther, he was a son of the late Russell and Eleanor (Elder) Van Buskirk, Sr. He was a lifelong resident of Panther.
A 1947 graduate of Greene-Dreher High School, Newfoundland, Russ first operated a family dairy farm with his Father . In 1963, he began an 18 year career with PennDOT where he held positions of Highway Maintenance Foreman, Pike County Assistant Maintenance Manager, and finally as Construction Project Supervisor. Also during those years, he co-owned and operated Panther Hills Landscape Service with his son. Most recently, Russ worked as an Equipment Operator for Edwards Sand & Gravel, South Sterling.
Russ served as a Greene Township Supervisor and Pike County Republican Committeeman for many years. He was a member of the Newfoundland Moravian Church. He was an avid hunter and fisherman.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Sgt. Warren R. Van Buskirk, PA State Police; Duncannon, Pa.; a daughter, Barbara J., wife of John Gilton of Panther; two sisters , Elaine Muller and Diane Razny, both of Panther; four grandchildren, Jason Van Buskirk of Panther, Schiavon Buskirk of Duncannon, Wade J. and Austin D. Gilton, both of Panther; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a grandson, Neal S. Van Buskirk.
A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, February 13, in the Arthur J. Frey Funeral Home, Rt. 191, LaAnna. Interment will be in Moravian Cemetery, Newfoundland. Friends may call Friday 7 to 9 p.m. and Saturday from 9 a.m. until the services at the funeral home.
Memorial remembrances may be made the Newfoundland Moravian Church Building Fund or to the charity of one's choice.

Emma Jane Williamson, 117 S. Kistler Street, East Stroudsburg, died Wednesday at East Stroudsburg Pocono Center after an illness. She is survived by her husband, Robert G. Williamson. The couple had celebrated their 61st wedding anniversary last May.
Born in Scranton, she was a daughter of the late George W. and Catherine Campbell Thomas.
Prior to moving to East Stroudsburg 2½ years ago, she resided in the Clarks Summit area for 48 years.
She was formerly employed by Wilson & Co. in Scranton. She is a member of the Falls United Methodist Church.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by one son, Attorney Robert G. Williamson, Jr., of East Stroudsburg; two grandchildren, David J. Williamson and Deborah L. Williamson; one great-grandson, Jack T. Williamson; and nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be Friday at 12 noon from the Lawrence E. Young Funeral Home, 418 S. State Street, Clarks Summit, with the Rev. William K. Locker, Pastor of the Falls United Methodist Church, officiating.
Interment will be in the Greenwood Cemetery, Glendale.
Friends may call Friday from 11 a.m. until the time of the service.

Norbert W. and Delores T. Gropp

Norbert W. Gropp, 66, and Delores T. Gropp, 49, both died on Sunday, February 7, 1999, at their home in Marshalls Creek.
Norbert was born in Berlin, Germany, son of the late William and Herta Gropp. He was employed as a Flight Service Attendant with TWA Airlines in New York for 30 years, retiring in 1990. He was also a security officer at Pocono Mt. Lake Estates in Bushkill for the past few years. He is survived by a sister, Renaatta Schlichting of Stuggard, Germany. He was an Army veteran of the Korean Conflict.
Delores was born in Espanola, New Mexico, the daughter of Isabel (Montoya) Abeyta of Seattle, Washington , and the late Charles Abeyta. She was employed as a stewardess with TWA Airlines in New York from 1969 to 1973. After her children became older, she became a Licensed Practical Nurse having worked at the Planned Parenthood of Northeast Pennsylvania , here is Stroudsburg. She is survived by four brothers , Richard Abeyta, Dennis Abeyta, Phillip Abeyta and Robert Abeyta, all of Seattle, Wash.; three sisters , Rosemary Thompson and Elizabeth Yamaguchi, both of Seattle, Wash.; and Carla Larson of Boise, Idaho.
In addition to the above survivors, both Norbert and Delores are survived by two sons , Damian P. Gropp and Matthew N. Gropp, both at home in Marshalls Creek.
Norbert and Delores had lived in the Marshalls Creek area for the past 30 years and prior to that they resided in the New York and New Mexico areas.
They were members of St. John's Roman Catholic Church of Bushkill and both were Eucharistic Ministers at the church.
A Memorial Prayer Service for both will be held on Sunday, February 14, at 6 p.m. from St. John's Roman Catholic Church, Bushkill, with the Rev. Msgr. Kevin P. O'Neill as celebrant. Burial will be on Wednesday, February 17, in the Washington Memorial Cemetery, Seattle, Washington .

Homer N. Rowe, 84, formerly of Mt. Pocono, passed away Tuesday at the Laurelwood Nursing facility after an illness. He is survived by his lifelong friend and companion, Martha Fenimore.
Born in Paradise Twp., he was a son of the late Alva and Susan Bisbing Rowe.
He was a 1934 graduate of the Tannersville High School. He was employed as a maintenance person for the school district for many years.
He also was a veteran of WWII and served in the U.S. Signal Corp. He was a member of the George M. Kemp Post #346 American Legion of East Stroudsburg.
Friends may call at James M. Hook & Co Funeral Directors, 35 Sterling Road, Mt. Pocono on Friday, February 12, from 12 to 1 p.m. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Nevin Kershner officiating.

Anthony David Fisher Huffman, 7, of Mount Pocono, died on Wednesday, February 10, at the Pocono Medical Center in East Stroudsburg.
He was born in Allentown, son of Rebecca (Huffman) Bennett of Mt. Pocono and Clarence Fisher, Jr., of Allentown. He had been a resident of Monroe County for his lifetime. He was a First Grade student at the Pocono Mountain Elementary Center, North Campus.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by a sister, Cierra Bennett, at home; a brother, Javon Bennett, at home; step Father , Anthony Bennett of Mt. Pocono; maternal grandparents, David and Sherry (Fay) Nunnally of Brick, N.J.; paternal step grandparents, John Willie Bennett of Effort and Ruby Bennett of Statesboro, Ga.; maternal grandfather, Pete K. Huffman, Jr., of Plainfield, Wis.; two aunts, Iris Conklin of Milford and Dana Perez of Waco, Texas ; an uncle, David C. Nunnally of Wharton, N.J.; and several other aunts, uncles and cousins.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 13, at 11 a.m. in the Lanterman & Allen Funeral Home, 27 Washington Street, East Stroudsburg, with the Reverend Isaiah Bennett officiating.
Interment will be in the Stroudsburg Cemetery, Stroudsburg.

Mario L. Miglio, 76, of East Stroudsburg, died Tuesday, at Pocono Medical Center, in East Stroudsburg. He was the husband of Elfriede (Woock) Miglio, at home. They would have celebrated their 19th wedding anniversary February 16.
Born November 27, 1922 in Richmond, Va., he was the son of the late Dominick and Mary (Stabile) Miglio.
He was the Plant Manager at Portland Novelty, Portland, Pa., for 40 years, retiring in 1984. From 1985 to 1998, he was a Security Guard at the Monroe County Court House in Stroudsburg.
He was a member of St. Matthew's Roman Catholic Church in East Stroudsburg.
He was an Army veteran, having served during World War II, and Past Commander of American Legion Post 418 in Hainesburg, N.J.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a niece, Cynthia Sutter of Delafield, Wis.; a grand nephew, Benjamin Sutter; two grand nieces, Taylor and Jordan Sutter; a nephew, Gregory Impeciati of Key West, Fla.; two cousins, Teresa Ruggiero of Roseto and Clara DeGuiseppi of Easton; and good friend, Geri Mucaluso of Brodheadsville; and long time friend, Joseph Eislin of Delaware, N.J.
Graveside Services will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday, February 16, at Northampton Memorial Shrine Cemetery in Easton.

Joseph P. Kozak, 83, of Sciota, formerly of Parsippany, N.J., died Saturday, Jan. 30, 1999 at the Pocono Medical Center in East Stroudsburg. He was the husband of Virginia (Kopczewski) Kozak. They had been married 18 years.
Born in Scranton, Pa., he was the son of the late Andrew and Mary (Adamiak) Kozak. He was employed by Steinen Manufacturing Company as a manufacturing engineer in Parsippany, N.J. for over 30 years.
He was a member of Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Gilbert. In addition to his wife Virginia, he is survived by two daughters : Nanette Skwiat of New Brunswick, N.J. and Rose Marie Kozak of Budd Lake, N.J.; a stepson Bruce Sikora of Randolph, N.J.; a stepdaughter Cynthia Maurus of Branchville, N.J.; a sister Mary Orloski of Scranton and six grandchildren.
Viewing will be held Tuesday Feb. 2, 1999 from 2 - 4 p.m. and 7 - 9 p.m. at the Donald N. Gower Funeral Home, Inc., Route 209, Gilbert. Funeral services will begin 11:30 a.m. Wednesday Feb. 3 at the funeral home, followed by A Mass of Christian Burial at noon at Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church, Route 209, Gilbert. Interment will be in the Buena Vista Cemetery, Brodheadsville.

Tony P. Gallagher, 74, of Delaware Water Gap, died on Saturday afternoon, Jan. 30, at home. He was the husband of Lucy (Foley) Gallagher, at home. They had celebrated 57 years of marriage.
He was born in East Stroudsburg, a son of the late Tony and Lucy (LaBar) Gallagher. He had been a resident of Monroe County his lifetime.
Prior to his retirement, he was employed by the former Ronson Corp. of Delaware Water Gap as a buffer and polisher for over 30 years. He was a member of the Local 1724 at Ronson. He was a former member of the CLU Club and Acme Hose Co., both of East Stroudsburg. At one time, Tony was one of Monroe County's most generous blood donors.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Rose Ann Gallagher at home; three sons , Richard T. Gallagher and Robert E. Gallagher both of Delaware Water Gap; George A. Gallagher of Bangor; a sister, Lillian Hughes of East Stroudsburg; three grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, Feb. 4, at 11 a.m. in the Lanterman & Allen Funeral Home, 27 Washington Street, East Stroudsburg with the Rev. Karen Nickels officiating.
Interment will be in the Prospect Cemetery, East Stroudsburg. Relatives and friends may pay their respects on Wednesday evening from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at the funeral home.

Alberta Snyder, 95, of Stroudsburg, died on Sunday, Jan. 31, at the Pleasant Valley Manor in Hamilton Township. She was the wife of the late James C. Snyder, who died in 1982.
She was born in Middle Smithfield Township; a daughter of the late Joseph N. and Lucinda (LaBar) Moisier. She had been a resident of Monroe County her lifetime. She was the Methodist Faith. she was a graduate of the Bushkill School.
She is survived by a daughter, Evelyn Howey of East Stroudsburg; two son, Elwood Snyder of East Stroudsburg; James Snyder of Stroudsburg; nine grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, six great-great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
Graveside funeral services and burial will be held on Wednesday, Feb. 3 at 1:30 p.m. in the Laurelwood Cemetery, Stroudsburg with the Rev. Victor McKusick officiating. There will be no viewing.
