Marjorie M. Keesler, 85, of Stroudsburg, died Wednesday, January 20, in Pleasant Valley Manor, Hamilton Township.
She is survived by a sister-in-law, Dora Keesler of Binghamton, N.Y.; two nephews, David Stoddart of Danville, VA., and James Keesler of Binghamton, N.Y.
Memorial services will be held on Monday, February 1, at 7 p.m. in the Lanterman & Allen Funeral Home, 27 Washington Street, East Stroudsburg, with the Rev. John Poulette officiating.
Relatives and friends may pay their respects on Monday, from 6:30 p.m. to the time of the service.

Beatrice V. Lynch

Beatrice V. Lynch, 72, of Pleasant Valley Estates, Jonas, died Friday, Jan. 29 at the Stroud Manor in East Stroudsburg.
Born in Newark, N.J., she was the daughter of the late William and Beatrice (Hill) SutlerØ. She was the wife of the late John Patrick Lynch.
She had attended Pleasant Valley Presbyterian Church in Brodheadsville.
She was a claimsadjuster for Warner-Lambert Pharmaceutical in Morris Plains, N.J., for 15 yearsØ.She is survived by two sons : John Patrick Lynch Jr.Ø of Lexington, Ken., and Dennis W. Lynch of Brooklyn, N.Y.; a stepsister, Ruth Fields of Menlow Park, N.J.; and one grandchild.
A committal service will be held 3 p.m. Monday, Feb. 1 at the Mountain View Mausoleum at the Prospect Cemetery in East Stroudsburg.

Mark L. Goss
January 25, 1999
Mark L. Goss, 23, of Lancaster, died Monday in Lincoln, N.H., following a skiing accident.
Goss was employed by Saturn of Lancaster.
He graduated as an honor student from Harrisburg Community College in 1995 with a degree in automotive technology. While a student at HACC, he had apprenticed at Jones Pontiac in Lancaster. After graduation, he worked there for another year.
A 1993 graduate of Penn Manor High School, he received the Louis Armstrong Music Award at graduation. He had played violin, saxophone and cuphonium and participated in marching band, pit orchestra, concert orchestra, jazz band and concert band. In his senior year, he was a member of the District Band. He also sang in the concert choir.
He traveled to Europe with American Musicians Abroad on a musical tour in 1992. He was the sound technician for the Christian band Anonymous Joe.
A former member of West Willow United Methodist Church, he served on mission trips to Puerto Rico and Navajo reservations in Arizona.
At the time of his death, he was a member of Manor Brethren in Christ Church, where he participated in mission trips to inner city Chicago and Canada.
For the past four years, he was a volunteer staff member of Lancaster Youth for Christ, Penn Manor/Lampeter-Strasburg Club.
He was a member of West Willow Cub Scout Pack and Boy Scout Troop.
Born in Lancaster, he was the son of Kenneth R. and Beverly J. Hess Goss of Willow Street.
He and his fiancé, Margaret Gwynn of Strasburg, were to be married in April. His future Father -in-law, Howard Gwynn of Brodheadsville, died Wednesday from injuries incurred in the skiing accident.
Surviving in addition to his parents are a brother, Stephen D., husband of Tanya Wertz Goss of Strasburg; paternal grandfather Frank Goss of Lancaster; and maternal grandmother Agnes Hess of Lancaster.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory may be made to the Lancaster YFC, 120 N. Shippen Street, Lancaster, PA 17602.

Clyde R. Hahn
January 29, 1999
Clyde R. Hahn, 75, of Hamilton Township, R.R. 2, Stroudsburg, died Friday at St. Luke's Hospital in Fountain Hill.
Born in Hamilton Township, he was the son of the late Clyde R. and Gwennie (Bellis) Hahn. He was the husband of the late Mildred M. (Eschenbach) Hahn, who died on October 20, 1997.
He had been a service manager for Gray Chevrolet in Stroudsburg. He was also a mechanic for several local car dealerships: Jesse Haynes Ford in Stroudsburg; Tucker Chevrolet in Stroudsburg; Mickels Motors in Stroudsburg; and the most recent he had worked for Abeloff Pontiac in Stroudsburg, for 20 years, retiring in 1986.
He was a decorated World War II Army Medic having served in the Philippines.
He was a member of Christ Hamilton United Lutheran Church, Hamilton Square. He was also a member for the VFW Sillivan Trail Lodge #5382 in Sciota.
He was a former treasurer of the Stroudsburg School Board in the 1960s. He was a Scoutmaster for the Cub Scout Pack 82 in Sciota, and the Boy Scout Troop 84, BSA in Hamilton Square. He was also a former Superintendent of Christ Hamilton United Lutheran Church Sunday School in the 1950s. He had coached the church softball team and the Babe Ruth Baseball League in Sciota in the 1960s.
He is survived by two daughters , Gwennie A. Hahn of Blakeslee, and Linda A. (Hahn) Newswanger of Pottsville; two sons , James R. Hahn of Saylorsburg, and Daniel R. Hahn of Snydersville; a brother, Joel Hahn of Bossardsville; two sisters , Mary Sharer of Saylorsburg, and Delores Everett of Bossardsville; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother, Fred Hahn.
Funeral services will begin at 11 a.m. Monday, February 1, at the Donald N. Gower Funeral Home, Inc., Route 209, Gilbert, with Fred V. Robertson officiating. Interment will be in the Mt. Zion Cemetery, Hamilton Square, Stroudsburg. Viewing will be held Sunday, January 31, 1999 from 1 to 3 p.m. and on Monday, February 1, 1999 from 10 a.m. until the time of services at the funeral home.

Helen Lavdanski
January 29, 1999
Helen (Wroblewski) Lavdanski, 92, of Cresco, passed away on Friday, Jan. 29 at the Bush Nursing facility after an illness.
She was the widow of the late Michael Lavdanski who passed away in 1996. Born in New York, she was the daughter of the late Anthony and Jacobina Wroblewski. After moving to the Cresco area, she became active in the Mountainhome Senior Citizens Center.
She is survived by two sons , Richard Lavdanski of Stroudsburg and Gregory Lavdanski of Las Vegas, Nev.; one daughter, Eleanor Ribaudo of Freeland. Also surviving are eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Friends may call on Monday, Feb. 1, at the James M. Hook & Co. Funeral Directors, 35 Sterling Road, Mount Pocono, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 2, at St. Mary of the Mount Roman Catholic Church.
Interment in Laurel Wood Cemetery, Stroudsburg.

Genaro G. Landi

Genaro "Gene" G. Landi, 76, of Cresco, died early Saturday morning, January 30, in his home. He was the husband of Rose (Chirichella) Landi with whom he had celebrated 51 years of marriage on September 28, 1998.
Born on November 6, 1922 in Newark, N.J.; he was a son of the late Michael and Mildred (Monica) Landi and had lived in Barrett Township since 1961.
He was the postmaster at the United States Post Office in Cresco from May 1967 until his retirement on December 15, 1998.
A veteran of the United States Army having served during World War II; he was in five major battles including St. Lo, Normandy, and the Battle of the Bulge and received a Purple Heart, Bronze Star and Presidential Citation.
Gene was a member of St. Bernadette's Roman Catholic Church in Canadensis, the Barrett Lions Club, the Barrett Township Planning and Zoning Committee, the Knights of Columbus in New Jersey, the Evans Blitz Post 922 American Legion in Canadensis. He also helped build and was on the board of the Tattersall Medical Center and was a past board member of the Barrett Friendly Library and the Barrett YMCA.
Surviving in addition to his wife are a son and daughter-in-law, Michael F. and Shelagh Landi, of Cresco; two granddaughters, Jennifer Landi, of Houston, Tex., and Erin Landi, of Cresco; a sister, Lena Ennis, of Red Bank, N.J.; a brother, John Landi, of Englewood, Fl.; and many nieces and nephews. Gene was preceded in death by three brothers , Ronald Landi, Michael Landi and Richard Landi.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, February 2, at 10 a.m. from St. Bernadette's Roman Catholic Church, Canadensis with the Rev. Alfred J. Vito as celebrant. Burial will follow in the Gates of Heaven section of Laurelwood Cemetery in Stroudsburg.
Viewing hours will be on Monday, Feb. 1, from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. in the William H. Clark Funeral Home, 1003 Main St., Stroudsburg and on Tuesday morning from 9:30 a.m. to 10 a.m. at the church.

Helen Vedova

Mrs. Helen Vedova, 82, of Lake Naomi, Pocono Pines, died Thursday at the Pocono Medical Center in East Stroudsburg.
She was born in Wilkes-Barre, on July 19, 1916, a daughter of the late Tofil Martin and Bertha Martin Reshke. Mrs. Vedova was a member of the Messiah Lutheran Church, South Main Street, Wilkes-Barre. She was formerly employed by Torwico Electronics and the Red Devil Corp. in Union, N.J.
Mrs. Vedova and her husband, Gerald, celebrated their 61st wedding anniversary on September 25, 1998.
She was preceded in death by her brothers , Edward, Alfred and William Martin and Arthur Reshke.
Surviving in addition to her husband are daughters , Mrs. Paul (Lois) Kronicz of Piscataway, N.J and Mrs. Edward (Jeanne) Renner, Bayville, N.J., two grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Erna Pytell, Wilkes-Barre; a brother Albert Reshke, Wilkes-Barre; nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at a time to be announced from the Nat & Gawlas Funeral Home, Park Avenue and South Street, Wilkes-Barre. Interment will be in Maple Hill Cemetery, Hanover Township.

Howard D. Gwyn
January 27, 1999
Howard D. Gwyn, 51, of Brodheadsville, died on Wednesday, January 27, at the Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, New Hampshire, as the result of a skiing accident while vacationing in New Hampshire.
He was the husband of Eileen (Donahue) Gwyn. They had been married 30 years.
Born in Philadelphia, he was the son of the late Howard Sr. and Sarah (Dennis) Gwyn.
He was a member of the Victory Baptist Church in Brodheadsville.
He had been a truck driver, having worked for Roadway in Tannersville for 11 years. Prior to that he had been a bus driver for Greyhound Bus Lines, working out of New York City.
He had belonged to Central Penn Teamsters Union. He was also a member of the Y.M.C.A. in Stroudsburg.
He was a Marine Corps veteran, having served in the Vietnam War.
In addition to his wife Eileen, he is survived by a daughter, Margaret "Margie" Gwyn at home; a brother, Richard Gwyn of O'Fallon, Missouri; a sister, Grace Timms of Ben Salem; his mother -in-law, Margaret Donahue of Effort.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 2, at the Donald N. Gower Funeral Home Inc., Route 209, Gilbert with Pastor Lloy Stevens officiating. Interment will follow in the Buena Vista Cemetery, Brodheadsville.
Visitation will be held 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 1, at the Donald N. Gower Funeral Home Inc., Route 209, Gilbert.

Nettie G. Hamm

Nettie G. Hamm, 105, of Cresco, died Saturday, January 30, in Laurel Manor, Stroudsburg. She was the wife of the late Edgar B. Hamm.
Born on July 30, 1893 in Weatherly, she was the daughter of the late Edward and Caroline (Wass) Warner and had lived in the area since 1925 when she and her late husband established the Hamm Funeral Home in Brodheadsville. She was a former school teacher in Weatherly and substitute taught in Brodheadsville.
She was a graduate of Weatherly High School and the East Stroudsburg Normal School in 1910. She was a member of the Zion United Lutheran Church, Brodheadsville, where she was a former Sunday school teacher. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Stroudsburg; the Patriotic Order of America, Saylorsburg; and the Pocono Pines Sr. Citizens Center.
She is survived by two daughters , Jeanette Mitchell of Saylorsburg and Mildred "Millie" Weiss of Cresco; five grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 11 a.m. in the Zion United Lutheran Church, Brodheadsville, with the Rev. William Zimmerman officiating. Burial will follow in the Buena Vista Cemetery, Brodheadsville.
There will be a viewing on Wednesday, from 10 a.m. until the time of service at the church.
