Stephanie Faser, 79, of Bayonne, N.J., died on Wednesday, Jan. 20, 1999 in Bayonne Hospital. She was the wife of the late William Faser.
A lifelong resident of Bayonne, N.J., she was a supervisor of Baker-Castor Oil's payroll department (now CazChemical) in Bayonne, N.J.
She belonged to the Mountain Manor Golf Club in Marshalls Creek.
A communicant of St. Andrew's Church, she wsa a member of its Rosary Society.
She is survived by two daughters : Gayle Meadows and Cynthia Faser; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband she is predeceased by a daughter, Janice Cofield.

John M. Atkins

John M. Atkins, 73, of Bath, Moore Township, died on Friday, Jan. 22, in the Muhlenberg Hospital Center, Bethlehem.
He was the husband of Barbara S. (Sprott) Atkins. They were married 45 years last Nov. 21.
Born March 4, 1925, in Kittanning, Armstrong County. He was the son of the late William M. and Rose (Greene) Atkins.
He was a member of Zion's Presbyterian Church, Wind Gap, and Pocono Lodge 780 F&AM.
He served in the U.S. Army during World War II in the European Theater, and participated in the third wave during the landing on D Day.
He was employed as a chef at Strickland's Pocono Mountain Inn Resort, Bushkill. Prior to that, he was employed at Kinsley's Market, Brodheadsville. He had also been manager of the Pocono Farms County Club and had been owner and operator of Jack's Pickle Barrel Deli and Catering Service.
Besides his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Julie K., wife of Robert Barthold of Bath; two sons , John W. Atkins of Davenport, Fla., and Jeffrey S. Atkins of Emmaus; one sister, Jane Koontz of Bedford; and five grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother, William Atkins.
Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 27, in Zion's Presbyterian Church, Water Street, Wind Gap.

Stella Deskus, 85, of Newfoundland, died Saturday, Jan. 23, 1999, at the VNA Hospice at CMC, Scranton. She was the wife of Michael L. Deskus, at home.
Born in Dickson City, daughter of the late Charles and Agnes Fadrowski, she had lived in Newfoundland since 1952 and prior to that in Bethlehem.
Stella had been employed as an assembler at Pocono Mountain Plastic Co., South Sterling.
Stella was a member of St. Rita's Parish, Gouldsboro and attended St. Anthony of Padua Church, Newfoundland.
In addition to her husband, Michael, Stella is survived by two sons , Richard L. Deskus of Mansfield, Tex. and Jordan M. Deskus of Bethlehem; a sister, Helen Fadrowski of Dickson City; three grandsons, Chad, Devin and John. She was preceded in death by a grandson, Donald.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 27 in St. Anthony of Padua Church in Newfoundland.
Friends may call Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the Arthur J. Frey Funeral Home, Route 191, LaAnna.
Burial will be in Pine Grove Cemetery, South Sterling.

Alexander Paul Wiesenberg
January 23, 1999
Alexander Paul Wiesenberg, 79, of Bushkill, died Saturday at the Pocono Medical Center, East Stroudsburg. He was the husband of Anna Vala (Hinriks) Wiesenberg to who he had been married since March 19, 1956.
Born on July 28, 1919 in New York City, N.Y., he was the son of the late Louis and Ella (Stever) Wiesenberg and had lived in the area since 1984. He had worked as a plumber for 50 years and was a plumbing superintendent for George Breslew, Inc. since 1958, retiring in 1987.
A veteran of World War II, he served in the U.S. Army Air Corps as staff sergeant. He was a member of the Bushkill Reformed Church; the Plumbers Union #1; the I.O. Odd Fellows, Montefiore Lodge, #23, N.Y., and the Newman Smith Post #514, Bushkill.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters , Lisa Anna Durvett of Great Neck, N.Y., and Vala Robin Wiesenberg of Bushkill; a son, Paul Steven Wiesenberg of Bergenfied, N.J.; and eight grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held on Monday at 8 p.m. in the William H. Clark Funeral Home, 1003 Main St., Stroudsburg with the Rev. Steven Sayer officiating. Private burial will be in the Sand Hill Cemetery, Middle Smithfield Township.
There will be a visitation on Monday from 7 p.m. until the time of service at the funeral home.

Margaret Schoelch, 96, Effort, died on Thursday at Brookmont Health Care Center in Effort. She was the wife of the late Frederick O. Schoelch.
Born in Heilbronn, Germany, she was the daughter of the late Herman and Luise (Braun) Schober.
She had been a resident of Monroe County since 1986. Her former residence was in Bellmore, N.Y., where she lived for over forty years.
She is survived by a son, Frank F. Schoelch of East Stroudsburg; two granddaughters, Monica Krieger of Seattle, Wash. and Stephanie Blanch of Longmont, Colo.; two great grandsons, Michael and Christopher Schoelch of Fairfield, Conn.
Funeral Services will be held at the convenience of the family from the Thomas Funeral Home, 401 North Fifth Street, Stroudsburg.

Zita M. Cosenza, 81, of Pocono Summit, died Saturday, Jan. 23, at home. She was the wife of Joseph Cosenza. They celebrated their 57th wedding anniversary on Oct. 4, 1998.
She was born in Luzern, Switzerland, the daughter of Karl and Mary (Obrecht) Ramsner, and attended Grover Cleveland High School, Hunter College, and Packard Business School.
She was a resident of Pocono Summit for more than 25 years, after moving here from Melville, N.Y., where she lived for 20 years.
Mrs. Cosenza was employed as a layout editor for Civil Engineer Publications, before her retirement.
She was a member of St. Mary of the Mount Church in Mount Pocono and a former member of the Buck Hill Art Association. She enjoyed her family, painting, photography, playing the piano, sharing love, animals and nature.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by two sons , Joseph Cosenza Jr. of Tigard, Ore., and Thomas Cosenza of Torrence, Calif.; three daughters , Joan Van Houten of Old Bridge, N.J., Judy Hetkowski of Boulder, Colo., and Margaret Randall of Springfield, Ohio; a sister, Olga Smith of Key Biscayne, Fla.; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, Jan. 27, at 10:30 a.m. from the Bolock Funeral Home, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. at St. Mary of the Mount Church in Mount Pocono, with Monsignor Arthur Kaschenback, celebrant.
There will be a viewing on Tuesday, Jan. 26, from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Bolock Funeral Home, corner of routes 940 and 390, Paradise Valley.

Wilbur W. Palmer, 77, of Easton, died Friday in the Easton Nursing Center.
Born in Lincoln, N.J., he was a son of the late Frank A. and Harriet (Berke) Palmer.
He had been a maintenance man with the Westfield N.J. Park Service for 20 years.
He was an Air Force veteran of World War II.
He is survived by two brothers , Lawrence A. Palmer of Wearie, N.H., and Harry F. Palmer of Mount Bethel; and two sisters , Lois Tucker of R.D. 3 Saylorsburg and Alice M. Daniels of Forked River, N.J.

Beatrice E. DeHaven, 95, of Scotrun, died on Saturday at Laurel Manor in Stroudsburg. She was the wife of the late Floyd DeHaven Sr., who died in 1978.
Born in Effort, she was the daughter of the late John and Carrie (Bond) Felker. She lived her entire lifetime in Monroe County.
She was a member of the Grace United Church of Christ, the Order of the Eastern Star and the Order of the Amaranth.
She is survived by a son, Floyd DeHaven Jr. of Scotrun; three daughters , June Philips and Carol Riley, both of Stroudsburg, and Mae Robbins of Tucson, Ariz.; a sister, Amelia Martin of Effort and Fort Myers, Fla.; 14 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a son, John DeHaven; a grandson, Jon Robbins; a brother, Paul Felker; and two sisters , Elsie Altemose and Sarah Benz.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, Jan. 27, at noon from the Thomas Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Tannersville Union Cemetery, Tannersville.
A viewing will be from 11 a.m. to noon at the funeral home.
