Mary Koren, 81, of Henryville, died Tuesday afternoon in her daughter's home in Centreville, Va. She was the widow of Joseph Koren who died February, 24, 1998.
Born on September 7, 1917, in Ronco, Pa., she was a daughter of the late Charles and Anna (Fencik) Hrab and lived in Henryville for 18 years until moving to Centreville, Va., last February.
She was a member of the Holy Trinity Eastern Orthodox Church in Stroud Township and enjoyed cooking, knitting, and bowling.
Surviving are two daughters , Andrea and her husband, Daniel Lynch, of Oakton, Va., and Stephanie and her husband, Timothy A. Lewis, of Centreville, Va.; one granddaughter, Aubrey Lynch; three sisters , Anna Hrab, Barbara Hrab, and Margaret Hrab, all of Henryville; and one brother, Charles Hrab of Henryville.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 23, at 10 a.m. from the Holy Trinity Eastern Orthodox Church, Trinity Court and Chipperfield Drive, Stroudsburg, with the Very Reverend Neal J. Carrigan officiating. Burial will follow in the George Washington Memorial Park, Paramus, N.J.
There will be a viewing on Friday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 8:30 p.m. at the William H. Clark Funeral Home, 1003 Main St., Stroudsburg. A Parastas service will be held at 7:15 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
The family has requested that memorial contributions be made to the Holy Trinity Eastern Orthodox Church, Trinity Court and Chipperfield Drive, Stroudsburg, PA 18360.

Harold Lang, 60, of Stroud Township, died on Tuesday, January 19, in Pocono Medical Center, East Stroudsburg.
Born in East Stroudsburg, he was a son of Julius and Ruth (Brish) Lang. He was a lifetime resident of Monroe County.
Prior to retirement, he was employed by B.R.W. Industries of Bangor and Redmond Finishing Co. of East Stroudsburg. He was a member of the Textile Union Local #42445.
He is survived by two daughters , Waynett Space of Kingston, Pa., and Crystal Lang of East Stroudsburg; three sons , Harold Lang, Jr., of Eldred, N.Y., Kenneth Lang of Stroudsburg, and David Lang of East Stroudsburg; two grandchildren; three sisters , four brothers , and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be held on Friday, January 22, at 11 a.m., in the Lanterman & Allen Funeral Home, 27 Washington St., East Stroudsburg, with the Rev. Raymond Poortstra officiating.
There will be a viewing on Friday from 10 a.m. until the time of services in Lanterman & Allen.
Committal will take place in Sand Hill Cemetery, Shoemakers, Pa.

Mary A. Andersen, age 57, of Newfoundland, died Wednesday, at home. She was born in Newark, N.J., and lived in Colts Neck and Marlboro, N.J., before moving to Pennsylvania two years ago.
She had been Director of Production at Calton Homes, Freehold, N.J., for 15 years, retiring 1995. She was Relief Post Master at Sterling Post Office, Sterling, Pa., for one year, retiring April 1998. She was a former member of the Old Dutch Reform Church, Marlboro, N.J.
She is survived by her husband of 13 years, Cornelius W. Andersen; three sons , David Schroder of Newfoundland, Stephen Schroder of Colts Neck, N.J., and John Schroder of Howell, N.J.; two step-sons , Daniel Andersen of East Brunswick, N.J. and John Andersen of Princeton, N.J.; two step- daughters , Kelly Ann Burke and Susan Andersen, both of Jackson, N.J.; her mother and step- Father , Emila and Vincent Sheridan of Newfoundland; three brothers , John Napolitano, Robert Napolitano, both of Newfoundland, and Michael Napolitano of Paris, Calif.; and nine grandchildren.
Services will be held Saturday, 10:30 a.m. at Waitt Funeral Home, 501 Highway 79, Morganville, N.J. Burial will take place at the Old Brick Church Cemetery, Marlboro, N.J.

Agnes A. Oelerich Dries

Agnes A. Oelerich Dries of Tobyhanna passed away yesterday at Stroud Manor after an illness. She was the widow of the late Peter Dries who died in 1986. She is also survived by one son, Lambertus of Grove City, Ohio, and a daughter, Dorothy DeYoung of Tobyhanna; seven grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
She was a member of the Tobyhanna United Methodist Church.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, January 29, at the James M. Hook & Co. Funeral Directors, 35 Sterling Road, Mt. Pocono, at 11 a.m.

Margaret Schoelch

Margaret Schoelch, 96, Effort, died on Thursday at Brookmont Health Care Center in Effort. She was the wife of the late Frederick O. Schoelch.
Born in Heilbronn, Germany, she was the daughter of the late Herman and Luise (Braun) Schober.
She had been a resident of Monroe County since 1986. Her former residence was in Bellmore, N.Y., where she lived for over forty years.
She is survived by a son, Frank F. Schoelch of East Stroudsburg; two granddaughters, Monica Krieger of Seattle, Wash. and Stephanie Blanch of Longmont, Colo.; two great grandsons, Michael and Christopher Schoelch of Fairfield, Conn.
Funeral Services will be held at the convenience of the family from the Thomas Funeral Home, 401 North Fifth Street, Stroudsburg.

Josephine S. Luce
January 21, 1999
Josephine S. Luce, 88, Tannersville, died on Thursday at Milford Manor in East Stroudsburg. She was the wife of Dr. Richard H. Luce, at home. The couple was married for 33 years.
Born in Bethlehem, she was the daughter of the late James Roe and Sarah Jane "Jennie' (Shiffer) Shotwell.
She was a 1928 graduate of Stroudsburg High School and attended West Chester University.
In 1934, she was one of the founders of Planned Parenthood of Monroe County and served as one of the directors for the clinic.
She was a former member of the Stroudsburg Woman's Club and a senior advisor to the Stroudsburg Junior Woman's Club. She was an active member of the Glenbrook Women's Golf Association and the Community Chest of Monroe County.
She did area modeling at fashion show from 1930 through 1970. She was employed by Frances Burrows Dress Shop in the 1960's as a manager.
Her grandfather was Joseph Shiffer of Shiffer brothers Construction, who was the builder of the Monroe County Courthouse as well as other buildings in the Stroudsburg area.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by two daughters , M. Jane Thomas of Stroudsburg and Evelyn "Lynn" Primrose of East Stroudsburg; one son, Peter Luce of Boston, Mass.; five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a daughter, B. Gail Meckes.
Funeral Services will be held on Monday, January 25, at 2 p.m. from the Thomas Funeral Home, 401 North Fifth Street, Stroudsburg with the Rev. George S. Rigby officiating. Burial will be in Laurelwood Cemetery, Stroudsburg.
There will be a viewing on Monday from 1 to 2 p.m. at the funeral home.

Samuel I. Hohensheldt
January 21, 1999
Samuel I. Hohensheldt, 80 of Stroudsburg, died on Thursday, January 21, in Pleasant Valley Manor, Hamilton Twp. He was the husband of Elizabeth E. (Trieble) Hohensheldt. The couple celebrated 46 years of marriage last October.
He was born in Poplar Valley, Pa., a son of the late Irvin and Sadie (McKenna) Hohensheldt. He was a resident of Monroe County for most of his life.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served during World War II. He was a member of the Thomas P. Lambert Post 2540, VFW of East Stroudsburg.
He was a 50 year member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers when he retired in 1974. When he retired, he was awarded a certificate and 50 year gold pin for his service.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons , Samuel W. Hohensheldt, husband of Patricia, of Piscataway, N.J. and William E. Hohensheldt, husband of Marijean, of Stroudsburg. He was preceded in death by two sisters , Ann Heeter and Helen Marshall.
Funeral Services will be held on Monday, January 25, at 1 p.m. in the Lanterman & Allen Funeral Home, 27 Washington Street, East Stroudsburg, with the Reverend Raymond Poortstra officiating.
Interment will be in the Poplar Valley Cemetery, Poplar Valley, Pa. Relatives and friends may pay their respects on Monday from noon until the time of the service in the funeral home.

Donald H. Cleveland, 70, of East Stroudsburg, died on Thursday, January 21, at his home. He was the husband of Jayne (Garris) Cleveland and they had celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on October 8, 1998.
He was born in East Stroudsburg, a son of the late Hanford L. and E. Dortha (Keiper) Cleveland. He was a graduate of East Stroudsburg High School, Class of 1947.
He owned and operated H. L. Cleveland Plumbing Company in East Stroudsburg and was an associate for over 50 years.
He was a licensed airplane pilot since he was 14 years old. He owned many planes and flew extensively all over the country. He was one of the best small plane pilots in the area. He was a member of the Aircraft Owners & Pilots Association since 1947.
He was a member of the BPO Elks Lodge in East Stroudsburg; the Irem Temple in Wilkes-Barre; the Fraternal Order of Eagles 8806; a life member of the Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite Lodge Council Chapter Consistory of Scranton; the J. Simpson Africa lodge 620 F&AM of Stroudsburg; and a member of the Pocono Shrine Club of Monroe County.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters , Pamela Barrett of Shawnee and Donna Cleveland Wagner of East Stroudsburg; four grandchildren, Sarah, Mary Barrett and Brian Barrett, all of Shawnee; and Cassandra Cleveland of East Stroudsburg. He was preceded in death by a sister, Joyce Pederson Obermeyer.
Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, January 26, at 1:30 p.m. in the Lanterman & Allen Funeral Home, 27 Washington Street, East Stroudsburg.
Interment will be in the Laurelwood Cemetery, Stroudsburg.
Relatives and friends may pay their respects on Monday from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at Lanterman & Allen.
