Henry B. Spriggs, 59, of Minisink Hills died Friday, Jan. 15, in the Pocono Medical Center, East Stroudsburg.
He was the husband of Pamela (Gioberti) Spriggs at home.
Born in Bayshore, N.Y., he was the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. John Spriggs.
He was a resident of Minisink Hills for the past two years, and prior to that, he lived in the West Babylon, N.Y., area. He was employed as a pressman in New York City for 35 years. He was of the Baptist faith.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a step-daughter Brook Burton of Nesquehoning, and a step-son Damien Burton of Woodstock, Ga.; four sisters , Edith Burns of Palm Coast, Fla., Frances Woods of Winston Salem, N.C., Carol Kidwell of Wunedance, N.Y. and Florence Fitzgerald of Uniondale, N.Y.; and a nephew and two nieces.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, Jan. 19, at 11 a.m. from the Joseph J. Pula Funeral Home, 23 N. Ninth St., Stroudsburg, with the Rev. Larry R. Thornton officiating. Burial will be in the Sandhill Cemetery, Bushkill.
Visitation will be on Tuesday, Jan. 19, from 10 a.m. until the time of services at the funeral home.

Charles A. Smith

Charles A. Smith, 85, of Smith Road, Kunkletown, died Saturday at the Palmerton Hospital. He was a lifelong resident of Polk Township.
Born on July 25, 1913, on the family farm, he was the son of the late Adam and Lillian (Dotter) Smith.
He had worked as a municipal worker for Polk Township for more than 35 years until his retirement in 1978. He was a World War II Army veteran and a member of the American Legion Post 927 in Gilbert.
He was a charter member and lifetime member of the Indian Mountain Rod and Gun Club in Kresgeville. He was also a member of the Polk Township Volunteer Fire Co.
He was of the Lutheran faith.
He is survived by a niece, Pauline, wife of Walter Heckman, and nephews, Richard Smith and Gerald Smith, with whom he resided at the family's farm on Smith Road in Polk Township. He is also survived by a sister, Annabelle Smith of Palmerton and several other nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Donald N. Gower Funeral Home, with the Rev. Deborah Scheffey officiating. Interment will follow in the Dotters Corner Cemetery in Polk Township. There will be a viewing from 10 a.m. until time of services at the funeral home.

Ruth E. Gallagher, 68, of East Stroudsburg, died on Saturday, Jan. 16, at the Pocono Medical Center in East Stroudsburg. She was the wife of the late John M. Gallagher, who died in 1995.
She was born in East Orange, N.J., a daughter of the late Neil and Elizabeth (Kacur) Leron. She had been a resident of Monroe County for the past 10 years and prior to that of Kearny, N.J. She was a Catholic.
Prior to her retirement in 1986, she was employed by West Hudson Hospital in Kearny as a registered nurse for more than 25 years. She was an avid gardener and enjoyed the outdoors.
She is survived by three sons , Steven Gallagher of Leonardo, N.J.; Kenneth Gallagher of East Stroudsburg; and John Gallagher of Belmar, N.J.; seven grandchildren, Daniel, Jessica, Shawn, Heather, Kenneth, John and Mikayla; many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Maureen Gallagher, and a son, Bruce Gallagher.
A prayer service will be held on Thursday, Jan. 21, at 1:30 p.m. in the Lanterman & Allen Funeral Home with Monsignor John A. Bergamo officiating.
Interment will be in the Stroudsburg Cemetery, Stroudsburg. Relatives and friends may pay their respects on Wednesday evening from 7 to 8:30 p.m. and on Thursday from 12:30 p.m. until time of the services at Lanterman & Allen.

Townsend Tittle

Townsend Tittle, 91, of Stroudsburg, died Saturday evening in the Pocono Medical Center, East Stroudsburg. He was the husband of Arlene (Martin) Tittle to whom he had been married since June 28, 1938.
Born on Jan. 29, 1907, in Appenzell, he was the son of the late James K. and Anna (Miller) Tittle and had lived in the area all of his life. He had worked for Patterson-Kelley in East Stroudsburg for 46 years, retiring in 1972. He was a member of St. Mark's Community Lutheran Church, Appenzell.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Pamela Shimer, wife of Donald of Wurtsboro, N.Y.; a granddaughter, Corry Shimer of Wurtsboro, N.Y.; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a brother, Horace Tittle, and a sister, Sarah Hengey.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. in the William H. Clark Funeral Home with the Rev. Harry M. Laubach officiating. Private burial will be in the Appenzell Cemetery.
There will be no visitation.

Barbara Ann Hull, 47, of Stroudsburg, died Monday morning in her home.
Born on January 30, 1951, in Carbondale, she was the daughter of Dolores (Stawisky) Adams of Stroudsburg and the late Paul Hull, and was a lifelong resident of Monroe County.
A 1969 graduate of Stroudsburg High School, she was the medical records supervisor at Laurel Manor Nursing Home in Stroudsburg for 28 years, was a member of the Stroudsburg Football Mothers Club, and was of the Catholic faith.
In addition to her mother she is survived by two sons , Mark Hull of Philadelphia and Joseph Hull of Stroudsburg; and two brothers , James Adams, Jr. and his wife, Pamela, of Stroudsburg and Robert Joseph Hull of New Jersey.
Prayer services will be held on Wednesday at 11:30 a.m. at the William H. Clark Funeral Home, 1003 Main St., Stroudsburg, with the Rev. Thomas D. McLaughlin, pastor of St. Luke's Roman Catholic Church, Stroudsburg, officiating. Interment will be private.
There will be a visitation on Wednesday from 10:30 a.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home.

Richard W. Kwatkoski, 21, died suddenly at his home in Effort on January 16 after a long illness.
He was born in Newark, N.J., the son of Diana Kwatkoski and Richard Morris. He is survived by his parents as well as five siblings, brother Paul and sisters Diana, Pamela, Jessica and Billie Jean.
A lover of outdoor activities, Richard enjoyed fishing and camping with family and friends.
There will be no viewing. A memorial service is being planned for Wednesday at 11 a.m. by his girlfriend, Christine Jones. The service will take place at Our Lady Queen of Peace Roman Catholic Church, Gilbert, with Father William J. McCawley officiating.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Richard's memory may be made to the research of neurofibromatosis and would be greatly appreciated.

Bradford A. Dennis, 83, of East Stroudsburg, died on Sunday evening, January 17, at his home. He was the husband of the late Mildred (Ruster) Dennis.
He was born in East Stroudsburg, a son of the late Harry Anderson and Anna (Bradford) Dennis. He had been a resident of Monroe County his lifetime. He was of the Methodist Faith. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy.
Prior to his retirement he was a general contractor of over 15 years and prior to that he was employed as a machinist by Cooper Industries (Line Material) of East Stroudsburg for 35 years. He was an avid hunter, fisherman and gardener.
He was a life member of both the Acme Hose Company #1 of East Stroudsburg and the Fraternal Order of Eagles 1106 of Stroudsburg.
He is survived by a brother, Merrill C. Dennis of Stroudsburg; two nieces, Berrill E. Dennis of Stroudsburg and Noranne Flory of Chico, Calif.; a nephew, Jerome E. Dennis of Stroudsburg; and many great nieces and great nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 23, at 11 a.m. in the Lanterman & Allen Funeral Home, 27 Washington Street, East Stroudsburg, with the Rev. Raymond Poortstra officiating.
Interment will be in the Prospect Cemetery, East Stroudsburg. Relatives and friends may pay their respects on Saturday from 10 a.m. to the time of the services at the funeral home.

Capt. James L. Fulton, 71, of Tobyhanna, died January 16, 1999 at the Shore Memorial Hospital in Somers Point, N.J.
Born in Oxford on August 9, 1927, he was the only child of the late Dorothy (Delaney) Fulton and the late James F. Fulton. Raised in Oxford and later in Philadelphia, he married Amelia C. (Amy) Martino of Philadelphia and on June 6, 1998 they celebrated their 50th anniversary with many family members and friends.
He was a merchant marine twice in his lifetime, originally at the age of seventeen, which was interrupted by a period of stateside careers, and then again at the age of forty when he rapidly climbed the ranks to Ship's Master, Capt. Fulton received national recognition in the early 1980s when selected as the first captain of the new supertanker U.S.T. Atlantic, then the largest ship built in the western hemisphere. His career at sea included hundreds of ports of call including Valdez, Alaska on the first day oil arrived from the Transalaska Pipeline, and scores of countries including Viet Nam where he carried jet fuel during the height of the war. Amy joined him for his last few years at sea sailing together to Sweden, South Africa, Korea and Singapore.
As an avid golfer, he was a life-member and past president of Pocono Farms Country Club and Community Association, where he resided since his retirement in 1986. He was a member of St. Ann Roman Catholic Church, Tobyhanna.
He and Amy frequently enjoyed their second home in Ocean City, N.J., with their view of the ocean and an open door to family and friends. This is where he passed away peacefully, in his sleep, on the morning of Saturday, January 16, 1999.
Jim is missed by his wife Amy, their three children: Lee and his wife Denise of Springfield; Ronnie Murphy of West Chester; and Glen and his wife Chantal of New Tripoli; and his seven grandchildren: Jennifer, Stephanie, Michael, Sarah, Ryan, Nicolas and Stefan, plus a legacy of friends and acquaintances spanning oceans, nations and decades. Jim will always be remembered for his larger-than-life presence punctuated by his trademark belly-laugh that filled meeting rooms, living rooms and the hearts of all who knew him.
Friends and Relatives may call on Wednesday, Jan. 20 from 10 to 10:45 a.m. at St. Francis of Assisi Church, Rolling Road and Saxer Avenue in Springfield. A Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday at 11 a.m. at the church. Burial will be private.

Marjorie M. Keesler, 85, of Stroudsburg, died Wednesday, January 20, in Pleasant Valley Manor, Hamilton Township.
Born in Portland, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Travis and Kathryn (Coslar) Keesler.
She is survived by a sister-in-law, Dora Keesler of Binghamton, N.Y.; two nephews, David Stoddart of Danville, Va., and James Keesler of Binghamton, N.Y.

Forrest R. Marin, 67, of Hamilton Twp., formerly of East Stroudsburg, died on Sunday, January 17, in Pleasant Valley Manor, Hamilton Twp. He was the husband of Helen (Baker) Marin of East Stroudsburg.
Born in Allentown, he was a son of the late Louis A. and Beatrice (Kane) Marin. He was a resident of Monroe County for the past 30 years.
He was employed by the Burnley Workshop for 6 years as a laborer.
He is survived by his wife, Helen Marin.
Graveside Funeral Services and Committal will be held on Friday, January 22, at 10:30 a.m. in Stroudsburg Cemetery, Stroudsburg, with the Rev. Raymond Poortstra officiating. There will be no viewing.
