Joseph Kroll Jr., 69, of Penn Borough, died Saturday, March 25, 2000, in Somerset Hospital. He was born Nov. 8, 1930, in Wendel, a son of the late Joseph and Stella (Sasick) Kroll. He was a maintenance engineer in the U.S. Navy. Survived by two sons , Joseph and Dennis Kroll, both of California; two daughters , Kimberly Rosales and Deigh Ann Kroll, both of California; five brothers , John Kroll of Penn, Edward Kroll of Herminie, Walter Kroll of California, Zedman Kroll of California, and Albert Kroll of Penn; three sisters , Myrtle K. Lunn of Irwin, Adeline Stater of Las Vegas, Nev., and Helen Coffee of Utah. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a brother, Stanley Kroll; and two sisters , Sophie Dazakto and Josephine Pavlecic. Visitation and funeral are private. Pastor Scott Hill officiating. EDWIN A. KRUSEY
Edwin A. Krusey, 82, of Delmont, died Sunday, March 26, 2000, in his loving home. He was born July 1, 1917, in Monroeville, a son of the late Andrew and Minnie (Dombrosky) Krusey. He was the former owner of Krusey Block Co. in Monroeville. John was a U.S. Army veteran, having served in World War II, a member of the American Legion Post 247 and the AARP Murrysville Chapter 3066. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers , Gaylord and Ellwood Krusey. John is survived by his wife, Ruth M. (Clark) Krusey; two daughters , Kathleen "Kathy" Smith and husband, James, of Little Genesee, N.Y., and Carol Krusey of Monroeville; two sons , Kenneth Krusey and wife, Kathy, of Greensburg and Howard Krusey and wife, Susan, of Florida; a brother, Kenneth Krusey of Monroeville; and three sisters , Dorothy Zimmerman of Harrison City, Erma Stelzl of Liberty Borough and Ruth Hill of Murrysville. Also surviving are two grandchildren, Amanda and Christopher Krusey; and a number of nieces and nephews. No visitation. Entombment in Twin Valley Memorial Park was private. Rose Marie Levic, 85, of Irwin (Evanstown), died Saturday, March 25, 2000, at the Westmoreland Regional Hospital, Greensburg. She was born May 28, 1914, in Crabtree, a daughter of the late Dominick and Angeline (Belline) Davanti. Rose was a homemaker and also was a member of St. Edward Roman Catholic Church, Herminie, St. Edward Altar Rosary Society and Sunshine Club and the SNPJ Lodge #23, Evanstown. In addition to her parents, Rose was preceded in death by her husband, Matthew W. Levic, in 1985; a son, Donald W. Levic, in 1980; three brothers , Frank, Joseph and Michael Davanti; and three sisters , Mary Santori, Florence Conte and Amelia Stoltz. Rose is survived by her daughter-in-law, Yvonne Levic of Evanstown; four grandsons, Randy and his wife, Ruth Ann, Jeff, Brian and his wife, Sherri, and Donald and his wife, Keli; four great-grandchildren, Tanya Nicole, Taylor Lee, Danny and Laura Rose; also a number of nieces and nephews. WILLIAM A. MALCOMSON JR.
William A. Malcomson Jr., 87, of East McKeesport, went home with the Lord Monday, March 27, 2000. He was born April 19, 1912, in Pittsburgh, a son of the late William A. Sr. and Bessie Marshall Malcomson. He was a retired employee of the Edwin L. Wiegand Co., Wilkinsburg; a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Army; a member of the Monroeville Assembly of God; a volunteer for 17 years at CTV Channel 40, Wall; a member of the 700 Club; and a member for 15 years of the Park Terrace V.F.D. Survived by his wife, Margaret N. McKlveen Malcomson; two sons , William C. Malcomson of Fremont, Calif., and Kenneth L. Malcomson of San Diego, Calif.; a daughter, Avis E. Wallenbeck of Rochester, N.Y.; and five grandchildren. James R. Maxson, 57, of Greensburg, died Sunday, March 26, 2000, in Westmoreland Regional Hospital, Greensburg. He was born Feb. 16, 1943, in Greensburg, a son of Marie Pierce Maxson Thompson of Greensburg and the late Lester O. Maxson. He was a member of Our Lady of Grace Church. He was the owner of the Royal Pizza House and the Maxson Remodeling Co., both in Greensburg. He was president of the Greensburg Pool League for the past 10 years, and was an active member of various social clubs in Greensburg. In addition to his Father , he was preceded in death by his stepfather, David A. Thompson. In addition to his mother , surviving are his wife, Karen McCallen Maxson; children, J.R. Maxson and wife, Bobbie, of Greensburg, Jeff E. Maxson and wife, Cathleen, of New Stanton and John C. Maxson of Greensburg; four grandchildren, Nicholas, Dustin, Jonathan and Luke; brothers , Ronald Maxson and wife, Nancy, and Jack Maxson and wife, Elaine; and a sister, Donna Ruble and husband, Barry, all of Greensburg; and numerous nieces and nephews. John G. McLaughlin, 79, of North Huntingdon, died Monday, March 27, 2000, at his home. He was born June 12, 1920, in North Irwin, a son of the late James and Anna Jeannette Lavell McLaughlin. Prior to retirement, he was employed as supervisor of security for General Motors Fisher Body Plant, Dravosburg. He was a member of the St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church of North Huntingdon. He was a veteran of World War II, having served in the U.S. Army Air Corps. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Helen Biss McLaughlin; five sisters , Ann, Marie, Agnes, Rita and Emma; and two brothers , Jim and Owen. Surviving are his wife, Theresa Conroy McLaughlin; four sons , Richard "Mac" McLaughlin of Greensburg, Kevin and his wife, Cherly McLaughlin, of Washington , Pa., Keith and his wife, Cathy McLaughlin, of North Hills and Patrick and his wife, Mary McLaughlin, of North Huntingdon; two grandsons, Sean and Patrick "PJ" McLaughlin; three brothers , Patrick McLaughlin of Banning, Calif., Francis McLaughlin of Jeannette and Bernard McLaughlin of Liberty Borough. Scott B. McMichael, 39, of Southwest Greensburg, died Sunday, March 26, 2000, at his home. He was born March 10, 1961, in Hershey, a son of J. Norman McMichael and Frances A. Meyer McMichael of Cleona. He was a former employee of Southwest Bank and presently working for the Mars National Bank. He was a graduate of Clarion University and was a member of the Palmyra Church of the Brethren. Surviving are his parents; his wife, Judy Gongaware McMichael and children, Emily Ann McMichael and Hannah Lynn McMichael, all at home; and sisters , Lori K. Shyda and Susan K. Graves, both of Cleona. There will be no public viewing. A memorial service will be held Thursday at 1 p.m. in the First Lutheran Church, 246 S. Main St., Greensburg, with the Rev. E. Allen Scanlon officiating. The family will receive friends after the service in the fellowship hall of the church. Mabel A. Meehan, 79, of Latrobe, died Sunday, March 26, 2000, in Westmoreland Regional Hospital, Greensburg. She was born Feb. 17, 1921, in Brandonville, W.Va., the daughter of the late Floyd O. and Dessie Nieman Taylor. She was a member of St. Rose Church, Latrobe, and had retired from the Latrobe Area Hospital as a registered nurse. She was the secretary for St. Vincent DePaul (St. Rose). She was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Hugh J. Meehan; and a son, the Rev. Hugh J. Meehan. Survivors include a daughter, Arietta Zello and her husband, James, of Latrobe; a brother, William C. Taylor and his wife, Geraldine, of Vacaville, Calif.; a granddaughter, Mary Frances Zello; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Ruth E. Stahl Midlam, 77, of Latrobe, died Sunday, March 26, 2000, in Edgewood Nursing Center, Youngstown, Pa. She was born Oct. 16, 1922, in Loyalhanna, a daughter of the late Samuel and Emma Jane Merhout Keller. She was a member of Latrobe United Presbyterian Church, where she was a former deacon and member of the session. Also she was a member of the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary #515, Latrobe, Latrobe Golden Agers Club, a longtime volunteer at Latrobe Area Hospital, and a longtime member of the former Loyalhanna Mission. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her first husband, Curtis Macklin Stahl, in 1977; a sister, Mary DeMine; and three brothers , Jacob, Frank, and Howard Keller. Survived by her husband, Kenneth D. Midlam; a son, Howard C. Stahl and his wife, Barbara, of Latrobe; a daughter, Cheryl L. She was born July 29, 1919, in Irwin, a daughter of the late Ocie and Myrtle Frantz Dorsey. She was preceded in death by two brothers , Robert and John Dorsey. Michael "Mike" Russin, 82, of Rillton, died Saturday, March 25, 2000, at the Huntingdon Ridge Mature Living Home, North Huntingdon. He was born April 18, 1917, in Rillton, a son of the late Louis and Julia (Stehney) Russin. Prior to his retirement, Mike was employed by Westinghouse Airbrake in the shipping department. He was a U.S. Army veteran, having served during World War II and being awarded the Purple Heart, a Distinguished Medal of Honor and two Bronze Stars. Mike was a member of St. Edward Roman Catholic Church, Herminie, and the church Altar Rosary Society and Sunshine Club. He was also a longtime usher at his church and was a life member of the Rillton VFW Post #8518. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Charles Russin; and a sister, Mary Pekarsky. Michael "Mike" is survived by his wife of 50 years, Kathryn (DeMichela) Russin; a daughter, Michelle Eisele and her husband, Mark, of North Huntingdon; two grandsons, Justin and Jonathan Eisele; and a number of nieces and nephews. She was born April 14, 1910, in Rillton, a daughter of the late Joseph and Domenica Mautino. She was formerly employed at The Company Store in Wyano. She was a member of the Sewickley Presbyterian Church, South Huntingdon Township. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond "Baldy" Cochenour; and five brothers , Joseph, Jacob, John, Michael and George Mautino. She is survived by a daughter, Mary Louise Gebadlo of West Newton; two sons , Raymond C. Cochenour Jr. of Grand Rapids, Mich., and Michael J.
