CAROLYN W. ORLANDI
Carolyn W. Orlandi, 71, of Smithton, died Saturday, March 25, 2000, in Frick Hospital, Mt. Pleasant. She was born Oct. 31, 1928, in Fitz Henry, a daughter of the late George and Jane Hough Willard. She was formerly employed by the Smithton Bank. She was a member of the West Newton United Presbyterian Church. Also she was a member of the Smithton Volunteer Fire Co. and had attended Robert Morris College. She is survived by her husband of 48 years, Joseph Orlandi; two daughters , Jill Orlandi of West Newton and her fiancee, Richard Bogardus, and Pam Birch and her husband, Dr. Richard Birch, of Marianna; a son, Joseph Tim Orlandi and his wife, Linda, of Chicago, Ill.; four grandchildren, Rachel Birch and Richard Birch III, Kylie and Lukas Orlandi; and two sisters , Almetta Mencer of Apopka, Fla., and Marie Rees of Savannah, Ga. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Dorsie Bailey. Friends will be received at the J. WILLIAM McCAULEY JR. FUNERAL HOME INC., West Newton, Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Service will be held in the funeral home Tuesday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. William A. Sukolsky officiating. MICHAEL RUSSIN
Michael "Mike" Russin, 82, of Rillton, died Saturday, March 25, 2000, at the Huntingdon Ridge Mature Living Home, North Huntingdon. He was born April 18, 1917, in Rillton, a son of the late Louis and Julia (Stehney) Russin. Prior to his retirement, Mike was employed by Westinghouse Airbrake in the shipping department. He was a U.S. Army veteran, having served during World War II and being awarded the Purple Heart, a Distinguished Medal of Honor and two Bronze Stars. Mike was a member of St. Edward Roman Catholic Church, Herminie, and the church Altar Rosary Society and Sunshine Club. He was also a longtime usher at his church and was a life member of the Rillton VFW Post #8518. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Charles Russin; and a sister, Mary Pekarsky. Michael "Mike" is survived by his wife of 50 years, Kathryn (DeMichela) Russin; a daughter, Michelle Eisele and her husband, Mark, of North Huntingdon; two grandsons, Justin and Jonathan Eisele; and a number of nieces and nephews. Friends will be received at the JOSEPH W. NICKELS FUNERAL HOME INC., Herminie, Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Thursday at 10 a.m. in St. Edward R.C. Church, Herminie, with the Rev. Lawrence L. Manchas as celebrant. Interment with full military honors accorded by the Greensburg VFW Post #33 Honor Guard will follow in the Irwin Union Cemetery. RUTH E. (SHAULIS) WINDISCH
Ruth E. (Shaulis) Windisch, on Saturday, March 25, 2000. Beloved wife of the late Frank G. mother of Patricia Jean Nieser, Shirley F. Diethorn and the late Ruth A. Fletcher. Sister of Ruby Harmon, Mary Esther Will and the late Harmon Shaulis. Also survived by 10 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren. Mrs. Windisch became an accomplished organist in her later years of life. Friends will be received Monday and Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the FINDLAY C. Mary Aujay Beardsley, 81, of Rillton, died Friday, March 24, 2000, at the Baldock Heath Care Centre, North Huntingdon. She was born Jan. 11, 1919, in Marianna, Pa., a daughter of the late Michael and Antoinette (Kisten) Aujay. Mary was a homemaker and was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Rillton VFW Post #8518 and Herminie Senior Citizen Center. In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by her first husband, Ephraim Beardsley; and her second husband, Nick Rullo; also two brothers , John and Fred Aujay; a sister, Nellie Primozich; and a granddaughter, April Mears. Mary is survived by three daughters , Mrs. Carolyn Mears and her husband, Blaine, of both New Castle and Fort Myers, Fla., Mrs. Janet Ricci and her husband, Robert, of Rillton and Mrs. Linda Boltin and her husband, Gerald, of Chicago, Ill.; nine grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; a brother, William "Bill" Aujay of Rillton; three sisters , Mrs. Helen Sikora, Mrs. Violet Fusco and her husband, Joe, and Mrs. Dorothy Cheselske and her husband, Ted, all of Rillton; and several nieces and nephews. Glenn R. Brewer, 78, of Pickens, S.C., formerly of Pleasant Unity, died Friday, March 24, 2000, at Greenville Memorial Hospital, Greenville, S.C. He was born March 29, 1921, in Carbon, a son of the late Joseph J. and Emma Ruth (Ellsbury) Brewer. Prior to retirement, he worked as a tool and die maker at General Nuclear Corp. in New Stanton. He was a veteran of World War II, having served in the U.S. Navy, and was a member of the Pickens View Wesleyan Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother and sister. He is survived by his wife, Evelyn M. (Schoellkopf) Brewer; a son, Robert G. and wife, Laurie, of Slippery Rock; two daughters , Mary Jane Brewer of Bridgman, Mich., and Mrs. Robert (Jo Ann) Westover of Cranberry Township; five grandchildren; and a great-grandchild. Helen M. Bush, 82, of Titusville, Fla., formerly of Delmont, died Thursday, March 23, 2000, in the Parrish Medical Center in Titusville. She was born Dec. 22, 1917, in Butler, a daughter of the late James and Anna Dee Mock Elliott. She was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Titusville, and a former member of the Salem Lutheran Church in Delmont. She was also a member of the ladies auxiliaries of the American Legion, Eagles, Moose, and Veterans of Foreign Wars, all in the Titusville area. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph H. Bush, on Jan. 16, 1984; and by several brothers . She is survived by two daughters and one son, Patricia E. Bush of Titusville, Fla., and William C. Bush and Sally A. Wingert and her husband, Terry, all of Greensburg; two sisters and one brother, Grace Thompson of Madison, Fla., Alice Patton of Titusville, Fla., and Paul Elliott and his wife, Betty, of Port Charlotte, Fla.; and four grandchildren, Kathleen McHugh of Titusville, William M. Bush and Melissa Wingert of Greensburg, and Timothy Wingert of Pittsburgh. Mrs. Bush's family will receive friends at the JOHN L. Elizabeth Fordyce, 87, of Hannastown, died Saturday, March 25, 2000, in the Integrated Health Services at Mountain View, Unity Township. She was born Aug. 29, 1912, in Webster, a daughter of the late David and Nancy McTurk Nesbit. She was a member of the St. Bartholomew Roman Catholic Church, Crabtree, and was retired from Gee Bee in Greensburg. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sons , Robert Nesbit and David Fordyce; two brothers , William and David Nesbit; and a sister, Agnes Robinson. She is survived by her husband of 70 years, Gerald J. Fordyce; three sons , Donald and wife, Marlene Fordyce, of South Greensburg, Douglas and wife, Cathy Fordyce, of Hannastown and R. Scott and wife, Patricia Fordyce, of Greensburg; two daughters , Geraldine and husband, John Kubas, of Greensburg and Carol and husband, Harry Warren, of Virginia Beach, Va.; a daughter-in-law, Cecil Nesbit of Pitman, N.J.; a sister, Georgina Wilson of Forbes Road; numerous grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Helen F. Kasparek, 91, a resident of Trinity Haven Personal Care Home, Jeannette, for the past seven years, died Saturday, March 25, 2000, in the Jeannette District Memorial Hospital. She was born Oct. 15, 1908, in Jeannette, a daughter of the late Charles and Mollie Verner. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Jeannette. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest Kasparek; and a daughter, Mary Pfeiffer. She is survived by her daughter, Nellie Aston and her husband, Herbert, of Greensburg; three grandchildren, Linda Aston of Williamsport, Herbert C. John J. Kish, 79, of Latrobe, died Friday, March 24, 2000, in IHS at Mountain View, Unity Township. He was born Jan. 16, 1921, in Latrobe, a son of the late John and Anna Danko Kish. He was a member of St. Vincent Basilica, Latrobe. He was retired from Latrobe Steel Company with 45 years of service. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II, and a member of the American Legion #515, Latrobe; VFW; 1st Ward Firemen's Club; the Frontier Club, Latrobe; and the F.O.E. #01188, Latrobe. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Larry C. Kish; a brother, Robert A. Kish; and two sisters , Martha A. Bravis and Agnes C. Kish. Survivors include his wife, Anne Walro Kish; a son, Jeffrey J. Kish and his wife, Carol A., of Latrobe; and two grandsons, Jeffrey J. and Jonathon M. Kish, both of Latrobe. Anna Kuszaj, 86, of Hutchinson, died Friday, March 24, 2000, at the Westmoreland Manor, Hempfield Township. She was born March 14, 1914, in Yukon, a daughter of the late George and Barbara Bolkovac. Mrs. Kuszaj was a homemaker. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Alexander J. "Alex" Kuszaj, in 1969; and a brother, George Bolkovac Jr. Mrs. Kuszaj is survived by a son, Alex, and his wife, Nancy Kashay, of Redlands, Calif.; two grandsons, Mark and Jason Kashay; a great-granddaughter, Adrienne Kashay; and a number of nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews. She was born May 28, 1914, in Crabtree, a daughter of the late Dominick and Angeline (Belline) Davanti. Rose was a homemaker and also was a member of St. Edward Roman Catholic Church, Herminie, St. Edward Altar Rosary Society and Sunshine Club and the SNPJ Lodge #23, Evanstown. In addition to her parents, Rose was preceded in death by her husband, Matthew W. Levic, in 1985; a son, Donald W. Levic, in 1980; three brothers , Frank, Joseph and Michael Davanti; and three sisters , Mary Santori, Florence Conte and Amelia Stoltz. Rose is survived by her daughter-in-law, Yvonne Levic of Evanstown; four grandsons, Randy and his wife, Ruth Ann, Jeff, Brian and his wife, Sherri, and Donald and his wife, Keli; four great-grandchildren, Tanya Nicole, Taylor Lee, Danny and Laura Rose; also a number of nieces and nephews.
