Dorothy L. Smith, 78, died Wednesday at Stroud Manor in East Stroudsburg. She was the wife of the late Leo Smith.
Born in East Stroudsburg, she was the daughter of the late Sanford and Dorothy Houser.
She was a former employee of Hughes Printing in East Stroudsburg; Banner Metal Co. in Stroudsburg and was a postal carrier for the U.S. Postal Service.
She was a member of the Stroudsburg United Methodist Church.
She is survived by a daughter, Dianna Lambert, Stroudsburg; a son, Craig Smith, Stroudsburg; four sisters : Lorraine Case, Easton; Mary of Florida; Florence VanWhy of Bushkill and Sally Ace of Stroudsburg; and two grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, Dec. 28 at 2 p.m. from the Thomas Funeral Home, with the Rev. Thomas Anderman officiating. Burial will be in Laurelwood Cemetery, Stroudsburg. There will be no viewing.

Eleanor Mullen, 96, of Clarks Summit and formerly of Dickson City, died Tuesday in Mid Valley Hospital, Peckville.
Born on March 15, 1902 in Dickson City, she was the daughter of the late Edward J. and Mary (Ronan) Mullen and had lived in the area most of her life. She had been a school teacher for the Dickson City Schools, the Barrett Township Schools and the Pocono Mountain School District retiring after many years of teaching. She was a member of St. Thomas Roman Catholic Church, Dickson City.
She is survived by a nephew, Thomas B. Mullen Jr. of Cresco; and a niece, Ann of Florida. She was preceded in death by three brothers : Dr. Thomas B. Mullen, Edward J. Mullen and Dr. Patrick Mullen and two sisters , Marie Mullen and Margaret Mullen.
A Memorial service followed by burial will be held on Monday at 10:30 a.m., in the Cathedral Cemetery, Scranton.

Anthony J. Genito, 67, of Dimock, died Monday, December 21, 1998 at Endless Mountains Health System, Montrose.
He was born June 6, 1931 in New Brunswick, N.J., the son of the late Pasquale and Amalia Genito and was predeceased by his wife, Janet P. (Welsh) Genito, on June 10, 1993.
He was a member of a Catholic church in Cordele, Ga.
He retired after 25 years of employment with Johnson & Johnson, North Brunswick, N.J., where he was a refrigeration and air conditioning technician. He was also an avid hunter.
He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Amalia and Jeff Rosen of Tannersville; his son and daughter-in-law, Pasquale R. and Kelly Genito of Dimock; five grandchildren: Jessica Rosen, Stephanie Rosen, Adam Rosen, Danielle Genito, and Joseph Genito; sisters and brothers -in-law, Angelina and John Maltese of North Brunswick, N.J., and Agnes and James Dino of Piscataway, N.J.; sisters -in-law, Caroline Genito and Lois McCoy, both of New Brunswick, N.J.; brother-in-law, James E. Welsh of Edison, N.J.; special niece, Ann Marie Mecca; and several nieces and nephews.
Services will be Saturday, December 26, 1998 at 9:30 a.m. at Bartron Funeral Home, 74 Church Street, Montrose, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at Holy Name of Mary Church, 60 South Main Street, Montrose, with Rev. James R. Nash celebrant. Burial will be Saturday, Dec. 26, 1998 in St. Peter's Cemetery, New Brunswick, N.J. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday, December 23, 1998 from 6 to 9 p.m.

Ronald C. Harrison, 64, of East Stroudsburg, passed away Sunday evening in the Pocono Medical Center.
Born on April 16, 1934 in East Stroudsburg, he was the son of the late Eugene O. and Lillian (Baker) Harrison and was a lifetime resident of Monroe County.
He was employed by Line Material where he served as President of the Union, retiring in 1979. He also owned and operated the Mt. Tom Inn in East Stroudsburg.
He was a member of the George N. Kemp Post 346 American Legion, East Stroudsburg; the Fraternal Order of Eagles #1106, Stroudsburg; and the Loyal Order of Moose #1336, Stroudsburg. He was a member of the Antique Car Club and the Moose Golf League.
Surviving are his wife, Dolores (Miller) Harrison of East Stroudsburg; a daughter, Darlene Johnson of Kissimmee, Fla.; a son, Ronald E. Harrison of Bushkill; two grandchildren, Jason Harrison and Renee Harrison, both of Bushkill; two great-grandchildren, Jessica and Cody, both of Kissimmee, Fla.; two sisters , Dolores "Til" Halterman of East Stroudsburg and Beverly Staples of Reeders; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 12 noon from the William H. Clark Funeral Home, 1003 Main Street, Stroudsburg, with the Rev. Joseph Barth, pastor of Faith United Methodist Church, Stroud Township, officiating. Burial will follow in Laurelwood Cemetery, Stroudsburg.
There will be a viewing on Wednesday morning from 10 a.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home.

Elvira S. Fay, 81, of Robinwood Village, Saylorsburg, died Sunday at the Pocono Medical Center in East Stroudsburg. She was the wife of Wilson M. Fay. They had been married 55 years.
Born in New York City, N.Y., she was the daughter of the late Stephen and Loretta (Miller) Smith.
She had been a fifth- and sixth-grade teacher at St. Peter's Catholic School in New Brunswick, N.J., for more than 15 years.
She was a member of Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Gilbert.
In addition to her husband Wilson, she is survived by a daughter, Maureen, wife of Michael Leklo of Phillipsburg, N.J.; and three grandchildren.
A Memorial Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 22, at Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Gilbert with the Rev. William McCawley celebrant. There will be no viewing.

Lynne F.R. Axworthy, 49, of East Stroudsburg, died on Friday, Dec. 18, at the Lehigh Valley Hospital Center in Salisbury Township. She was the wife of Jeremy P. Axworthy at home.
She was a devoted wife and loving mother , living her life for her family. They had celebrated 25 years of marriage.
She was born in Bath, England, the daughter of the late Leslie and Sally (Hunter) Ault. She had been a resident of Monroe County for the past nine months and prior to that of Lymm, England. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Stroudsburg.
She was employed as a nurse, caring for the elderly for many years in England.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by a daughter, Rebekah Axworthy at home; four sons , Benjamin Axworthy of Market Harbough, England; Simon Axworthy of Warrington, England; Daniel Axworthy and Jeremy N. Axworthy Jr., both at home.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, Dec. 23, at 11 a.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Sunrise Drive, Stroudsburg, with Brother Gary E. Elmore officiating.
Interment will be in the Stroudsburg Cemetery, Stroudsburg. Relatives and friends may pay their respects on Wednesday from 10 a.m. until the time of the services at the church.

John S. Myra, 91, of Stroudsburg, died Friday, November 13, at the home of his son, Harold, IN Wheaton, Ill. He was the husband of the late Esther (Christensen) Myra who died in 1994.
Born on May 9, 1907 in Skien, Norway, he was the son of the late Lars and Emelia (Samuelson) Myra and had lived in Monroe County since 1948 moving to Illinois in June 1998. He had worked for the Ronson Corp. in Delaware Water Gap.
He was a member of the First Baptist Church in East Stroudsburg.
He is survived by two sons , Harold L. Myra, husband of Jeanette of Wheaton, Ill., and John D. Myra, husband of Donna of Henryville; ten grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and three foster children.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, November 20, at 11 a.m. in the First Baptist Church in East Stroudsburg, with Rev. David A. Cornell officiating. Burial will follow in the Middle Smithfield Presbyterian Cemetery, Middle Smithfield Township.
There will be a viewing on Friday, from 10 a.m. until the time of service at the church.

Raymond J. Stengel, 87, of R-Own Lake, Stroudsburg, formerly of Salisbury Township, Lehigh County, died Friday, Nov. 13, in Pleasant Valley Manor, Snydersville, Monroe County. He was the husband of Madeline M. (Brueningsen) Stengel, and observed their 53rd wedding anniversary in July.
He was the proprietor of the former Stengel's Beer Distributor in Salisbury Township for many years until retiring.
Born in Allentown, he was a son of the late William and Katherine (Rohrbach) Stengel. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II.
Surviving with his wife are a son, Carl Stengel of Scotrun; a daughter, Sandra, wife of Joseph DeAngelo of Hamilton Township, both of Monroe County; and five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Bachman, Kulik and Reinsmith Funeral Home, . Call from 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesday.

Maryanne Wiecek, 59, a former resident of Gouldsboro, died Thursday following a lengthy illness at the Loretto Nursing Home, Syracuse, N.Y. Her husband is William Wiecek.
Born in Edwardsville, she was the daughter of Ben and Sophie Bomba Pickarski, Gouldsboro. She graduated from Clark Regional High School, Clark, N.J.; the Catholic University, Washington , D.C., with a bachelor's degree in fine art; and the University of Missouri, with a master's degree in fine art. Up until she retired in 1988, she worked as a secretary for the University of Missouri, and she was an accomplished artist.
Also surviving are two daughter, Sophie Littlefield, Dalton, Calif. and Kristin Wiecek, Syracuse, N.Y.; a son, Michael Wiecek, Boston, Mass.; two sisters , Dorothy Mang, Clinton, N.J., and Monica Goodrow, Big Lake, Alaska; two brothers , Charlie Wiecek, Stroudsburg, and Benjamin Wiecek, Gouldsboro; one grandson; one granddaughter; and nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be at 9 a.m. Monday at the Brian Arthur Strauch Funeral Home, corner of Route 690 and First Street, Springbrook, with Mass at 9:30 a.m. in St. Rita's Roman Catholic Church, Gouldsboro. Interment in St. Anthony's Cemetery, Cortdale.
There will be no public calling hours.

Malinda M. George, 75, of East Stroudsburg died on Sunday, Nov. 15, in Pocono Medical Center, East Stroudsburg. She was the wife of Ernest George at home.
In addition to her husband Ernest, she is survived by two daughters , April K. Duganieri of Stroudsburg and Lillian Friediman of Woonsocket, S.D.; two sons , LeRoy E. George of Maui, Hawaii, and Thomas George of East Stroudsburg; 10 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.
Services will be private at the convenience of the family. There will be no viewing. Cremation will take place in Arlington Crematory, White hall.
