Pauline S. Berge, 81, of Gilbert, died Tuesday in the Palmerton Hospital.
Born in Gilbert, she was a daughter of the late John and Mamie (Kunzman) Dietz.
She had been a sales lady at the Young Folks Bazaar in Bethlehem for 10 years, retiring in 1979.
She was a member of Salem United Church of Christ in Gilbert.
She is survived by her companion of 30 years, Herman Serfass, with whom she resided; two sisters , Beatrice Barthold of Bethlehem and Jeanette Bailey of Florida; and nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday from the Kresge Funeral Home, Route 209, Brodheadsville, with the Rev. Michael Eckroth officiating. Burial will be in Gilbert Cemetery. A viewing will be held on Saturday from 9 a.m. until the time of the service.

Jesse F. Silverman

Jesse F. Silverman, 55, of Henryville, died Monday in St. Francis Hospital in Jersey City, N.J. His wife is the former Maryann Belloni.
Born in the Bronx, N.Y., he was the son of Harold Silverman of Farmingdale, N.Y., and Judy Bradley of Queens, N.Y.
He was a graduate of Columbus High School in the Bronx, N.Y. He was a resident of the Mount Pocono area the past 10 years. Prior to his retirement he had been employed by Coyne Electric in Queens, N.Y.
In addition to his wife he is survived by three daughters , Pamela Silverman of Queens, N.Y., Jodi Rivera of Bronx, N.Y., and Jessica Silverman of Mount Pocono; two sisters , Ronnie Lee Duffy of The Hideout, Lake Ariel, and Beth Ann Oliveras of Baldwin Harbor, L.I., N.Y.; a brother, Brian Bradley of Long Island; a step daughter, Jennifer Paradiso of Mount Pocono; and a step son, Thomas Paradiso of New Jersey; one grandson, Justin Rivera; and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a son, Steven, who died in 1988.
Graveside services will be held Thursday at 12 noon in St. Catherines Cemetery, Moscow.

John R. Wildrick

John R. Wildrick, 87, educator and community leader, died Sunday morning at his summer cottage near Marshalls Creek. He was the husband of Dorothy (Linton) Wildrick to whom he had been married for 56 years.
Born on August 11, 1911, in Portland, he was the son of John Read and Carrie (Raub) Wildrick. He lived in Portland for 72 years and was an endless source of stories about Portland in the early 1900's, which he experienced from the advantage of his Father 's newspaper and printing office.
He graduated from East Stroudsburg State Teachers College in 1933 and then earned his master's and doctorate in education from New York University. As part of his doctoral thesis he wrote A Manual of Local Government in Monroe County, Pennsylvania , which was used as the ninth grade civics text in Monroe County schools for more than a decade.
He started his career in 1934 as an educator teaching at the Portland Elementary School. Starting in 1940 he taught in the East Stroudsburg junior high school. He returned to Portland as principal for two years until he joined the faculty at East Stroudsburg State Teachers College.
He held numerous positions at the college, including Director of Student Teaching and Placement, Dean of Administration, and retired as Vice President of Administration in 1974. He was active in educational organizations including president of the local chapter of the Pennsylvania State Education Association as well as the Pennsylvania Student Teachers Association.
He served as president of the Stroudsburg Kiwanis Club and was active in Portland politics, serving on borough council for many years.
Following his retirement he and his wife spent several winters in Hawaii and traveled extensively throughout the world.
In 1983 they moved to Penney Farms Retirement Community in Florida where he was active in community affairs.
In addition to his wife he is survived by two sons , John Terence of West Chester and Linton of Tumwater, Washington ; a daughter, Donna Pitz of Paoli; seven grandchildren, Sarah and Emily Wildrick of West Chester, Kelly, John and Kimberly of Tumwater, Washington , and Scott, Kathryn, and Cody Pitz of Paoli.
Memorial services will be held on Saturday, Aug. 22 at 10:30 a.m. at the Portland United Methodist Church with the Rev. Charles Marker and the Rev. Harold Schieck officiating. Zigmund J. Schefick, 80, of Andover, N.J., formerly of Effort, died Monday at the Dover Hospital in Dover, N.J. He was the husband of the late Evelyn (Rainey) Schefick, who died in 1990.
Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., he was the son of the late John and Eleanor (Schrenowicz) Schefick.
He was a Union Electrician for Local #3 International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers in New York City for 47 years until his retirement in 1983.
He was a World War II Navy Veteran having served in the Pacific Theater, and a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars #5588 of Effort.
He was a member of Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Gilbert.
He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus Msgr. Connel A. McHugh #7141 of Brodheadsville and the Byram Twp. Senior Citizens in Andover, N.J.
He is survived by one son, John "Jack" Schefick of New York City, N.Y., three daughters : Anne O'Kane of Easton, Janet Lamont of Corpus Christie, Texas , and Helena Russo of Andover, N.J., with whom he had resided. He is also survived by four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will begin 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Donald Gower Funeral Home, Inc., Route 209, Gilbert, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. at Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Gilbert, with the Rev. Fr. William McCawley Celebrant. Viewing today is 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Kimberly Sue Leighton, 30, of Cresco, died Tuesday in the Presbyterian Medical Center of Philadelphia.
She was the wife of Kenneth Leighton, at home. They had observed their 8th wedding anniversary in June.
Born in Pocono Lake, she was a daughter of Marvin Van Buskirk of Stroudsburg and Betty (Kresge) Perry.
She was a member of the Neola United Methodist Church.
She was a 1987 graduate of Stroudsburg High School.
In addition to her husband and parents, she is survived by three stepsons, Curtis Leighton, Troy Leighton of Pen Argyl and Mark Tomsic of Greenville, S.C.; a stepdaughter, Theresa Kardjali of Gilbert; a brother, Marvin Van Buskirk Jr. in Virginia; three sisters , Shirley Johns of Venice, Fla., Fosie Van Buskirk, and Kelly Perry of Marshalls Creek, and 13 step grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Monday from the Kresge Funeral Home, Route 209, Brodheadsville, with the Rev. Heidi Silliman officiating. Burial will be in Prospect Cemetery, East Stroudsburg. A viewing will be held on Sunday from 7 to 9 p.m.

Earl E. Heller

Earl E. Heller, 92, of Auburndale, Fla., formerly of Stroudsburg and Mount Pocono, died Monday in Manatee Memorial Hospital in Bradenton, Fla. He was the husband of the late Alberta (Florey) Heller.
Born on March 28, 1906 in East Stroudsburg, he was the son of the late Eugene and Alice (Newhart) Heller and had lived in Monroe County most of his life before moving to Auburndale twenty years ago. He had worked as an accountant for Pennsylvania Power and Light for over forty years retiring in 1968.
He was a former member of the Mount Pocono United Methodist Church and a life member of the Mount Pocono Volunteer Fire Company. He was also a former tax collector in Mount Pocono.
He is survived by two daughters , Laura Welter of Stroudsburg and Romaine Wismer of Ellenton, Fla.; a daughter-in-law, Mary Burns Heller of Brick, N.J.; three brothers , Howard Heller and Claude Heller, both of East Stroudsburg and Harry Heller of Live Oak, Fla.; a sister, Emily Daniels of Thompson; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a son, Wilmer "Bud" Heller in 1992.
Funeral services will be held on Friday at 12 p.m., noon, at the William H. Clark Funeral Home, with Rev. Thomas Anderman officiating. Burial will follow in the Laruelwood Cemetery, Stroudsburg.
There will be a viewing on Friday from 11 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home.

Mary E. Napoli, 83, of East Stroudsburg, died on Wednesday, August 19, at the Pocono Medical Center in East Stroudsburg. She was the wife of the late Charles L. Napoli, who died in 1995.
She was born in Crugers, N.Y., a daughter of the late Frank and Victoria (Klick) Matchesky. She had been a resident of Monroe County for the past 5 years and prior to that of Irvington, N.J. She was of the Catholic faith.
She is survived by a son, Robert J. Napoli of East Stroudsburg; two sisters , Sylvia Troue of White Stone, N.Y., and Julia Mower of Peekskill, N.Y.; and three grandchildren.
Private funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family. There will be no viewing.

Raymond W. Morris

Raymond W. Morris, 60, late of Dingmans Ferry, died on Wednesday, August 19, 1998 at home. He was a member of St. Vincent's Church, Dingmans Ferry. He served in the U.S. Army. Mr. Morris was a member of the board of directors and building committee for Habitat for Humanity, Pike County Chapter. He was a 1968 graduate of Rutgers University, New Brunswick, N.J., and retired after 34 years as an accountant for A.T. & T. He was the proprietor of the County Goose in Milford.
On February 16, 1938, he was born in Jersey City, N.J., to John and Catherine (Higgins) Morris. He was married to Eileen (Sullivan) Morris.
Survivors include his wife, at home; a son, Glenn Morris of Dingmans Ferry; a son and daughter-in-law, Scott and Eileen Morris of Wichita, Kan.; a daughter and son-in-law, Michael and Donna (Morris) Bass of New York, N.Y.; one grandson, Samuel Morris Bass; one brother, Robert Morris of Forked River, N.J.; one sister, Joan Naughton of Iselin, N.J.; and several nieces and nephews.
A mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated on Saturday, August 22, 1998 at 12:30 p.m. at St. Vincent's Church, Dingmans Ferry, with Monsignor William Ward celebrant.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. on Friday, August 21, 1998 at Stroyan Funeral Home, Inc., 405 W. Harford Street, Milford.
Interment will take place in Milford Cemetery, Dingman Township.

Thomas F. Savitski, 54, of Stroudsburg, died Thursday in the Pocono Medical Center, East Stroudsburg. He was the husband of Mary Ann (Veno) Savitski, at home.
Born on June 3, 1944 in San Diego, Calif., he was the son of Anthony Savitski of Scranton and the late Jean (Stein) Savitski and had lived in the area for the past four years moving here from Harrisburg. He had worked as an analytical supervisor for Dunn and Bradstreet retiring in 1983.
He served in the U.S. Navy during the Cuban Crisis.
He was a member of St. Luke's Roman Catholic Church, Stroudsburg; the Antique Car Club of America and the Monroe County Cruisers Car Club.
In addition to his wife and Father , he is survived by a daughter, Bonnie Savitski of Mechanicsburg; a son, Thomas F. Savitski, Jr. of Harrisburg; a brother, Joseph Savitski of Moscow; a sister, Sandra Weinerth of Scranton; and several nieces and nephews.
There will be a viewing on Saturday, August 22, 1998 from 3 to 5 p.m. and 7 to 8:30 p.m. at the William H. Clark Funeral Home, . Cremation will follow the viewing.
A Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, August 29, 1998, in St. Luke's Roman Catholic Church, Stroudsburg.
