John J. Imm, 84, of Saylorsburg, died Tuesday, Aug. 11, at his home. He was the husband of Caroline (Morabito) Imm with whom he celebrated 42 years of marriage on June 30 this year.
Born in New York City, N.Y., he was the son of the late Alexander and Cecelia (O'Rourke) Imm.
He was a resident of Saylorsburg for the past 12 years and prior to that he lived in the Wayne, N.J. area.
He was employed as an electrical engineer for the General Electric Co. of New Jersey and Connecticut for 40 years, retiring from there in 1976. He then worked as a private engineer consultant for various companies in Texas for 16 years, retiring in 1992.
He was a member of St. Matthews Roman Catholic Church of East Stroudsburg and was a past president of American Institute of Electrical Engineers (I.E.E.E.).
In addition to his wife he is survived by three daughters : Marianne Snook of Surfside Beach, S.C., Carolann Maznedar of BelAir, Md., and Elizabeth Kievit of Wayne, N.J.; and nine grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a twin daughter Jeanette Kievit, who died in 1988.
A Memorial funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, Aug. 14, at 11 a.m. from St. Matthews Roman Catholic Church in East Stroudsburg with the Monsignor John A. Bergamo as celebrant.
The family will receive friends at the church from 10:30 a.m. until the time of the Mass.

Florence M. Post, 93, of Stroudsburg, died Wednesday in Pocono Medical Center, East Stroudsburg. She was the wife of the late Allen Post.
Born on May 29, 1905 in Monroe County, she was the daughter of the late Edwin and Emma (Brong) Metzger and had lived in Hamilton Township all of her life.
She had worked as a cook for the County Home, now Pleasant Valley Manor for numerous years, retiring in 1970.
She was a member of the Christ Hamilton United Lutheran Church; the Mineola Grange #1453; and Camp #208 P.O.A. (Patriotic Order of Americans) of Saylorsburg.
She is survived by three nieces: Florence June Metzgar and Nancy Miller, both of Stroudsburg; and Evelyn Seidof of Sciota; and a nephew, David Metzgar of Stroudsburg. She was preceded in death by three brothers : Herbert Metzgar, George Metzgar, and Eugene Metzgar.
Funeral services will be held on Monday at 11 a.m. in the William H. Clark Funeral Home, with Fred Robertson officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. Zion Cemetery, Hamilton Township.
There will be a viewing on Sunday from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at the funeral home.

Thomas D. Ellis

Thomas D. Ellis, 43, of Tobyhanna, died Monday, August 10th, in St. Luke's Hospital, Allentown. His wife is the former, Irene Beekman.
Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., he was the son of the late Graham and Helena (Craft) Ellis. For over the past twenty-five years he was employed at Givaudan-Roure of New Jersey as a flavor compounder.
In addition to his wife, Irene, he is survived by two daughters , Danielle and Jennifer, both at home. He is also survived by a brother, Paul Ellis of Brooklyn, N.Y., a sister, Mary Ellen Kascle of Mount Pocono; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Friends may call on Thursday, August 13 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the James M. Hook & Co., Funeral Directors, 35 Sterling Road, Mount Pocono.
Funeral services will be held Friday morning at 9 a.m. at Trinity Episcopal Church in Mount Pocono. The Rev. Edward Sykes will preside. Interment immediately following at Ocean View Cemetery in Staten Island, N.Y.
The family has requested that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association.

Clare Conley
Clare Conley was born on January 22, 1929 in Caldwell, Idaho. He was an alumnus of Stanford University. He was the state swimming champion of Idaho for breaststroke. His career included various journalistic and publishing positions, covering outdoor sporting and environmental issues. Most notably, he served as Editor-in-Chief of Outdoor Life and Field and Stream magazines.
He took vigorous strides to champion conservation of our natural resources, testifying before the U.S. Congress on numerous issues. His valiant efforts didn't go unnoticed - twice being nominated for Secretary of the Interior, once under President Reagan and once under President Bush.
Clare achieved a quite healthy following of fans over the years. This lead to repeat appearances on the Johnny Carson Show, Merv Griffin Show, Michael Douglas Show and numerous other television and radio programs.
Clare is survived by his wife of 47 years, Mike Conley (for the last time, 'no, we didn't reverse the names'), and his three children Brent, Kim and Ted.
According to his wishes, there will be no memorial service.

Earl M. Halstead, 81, of Stroudsburg, died on Wednesday at Brookmont Health Care Center, Effort. He was the husband of the late Betty (Riday) Halstead.
Born in Bethlehem, he was the son of the late H. Milton and Emma (Niering) Halstead.
He was a mechanic for the Scheller and Kitchen garage, Stroudsburg; he operated the Gulf Service Station, Minisink Hills; and until his retirement he worked for the Ott Thomas garage, Stroudsburg.
He was a member of the Zion United Church of Christ, Stroudsburg.
He was a member of Barger Lodge F & Am #325, Stroudsburg.
He is survived by a sister, Alice Frailey of Stroudsburg and 3 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Susan Kirk.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 15 at 11 a.m. from the Thomas Funeral Home, 401 North Fifth Street, Stroudsburg, with Rev. John Steitz officiating. Burial will take place at the convenience of the family at Stroudsburg Cemetery.
There will be no viewing.

Amy K. Manser, 96, of Stroudsburg, died Tuesday, August 11, in the Pleasant Valley Manor Nursing Home, Snydersville, where she was a resident.
She was the wife of the late Spencer Manser and the companion of the late William M. Wehr.
Born in Marshalls Creek, she was the daughter of the late Joseph H. and Carrie (Walters) Kennedy. She was a life long resident of the Bushkill area and with her family they owned and operated the Bushkill Inn for 27 years.
She is survived by several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held Thursday, Aug. 13 from the Joseph J. Pula Funeral Home, 23 North Ninth Street, Stroudsburg, the Rev. Phyllis Hammel officiated.
Burial in Shawnee Presbyterian Cemetery, Shawnee-on-Delaware.

Regina S. Weller, 99, of Stroudsburg, died on Thursday, August 13, at the Pleasant Valley Manor. She was the wife of the late Frank J. Weller.
Born October 16, 1898 to Jacob and Ida (Herberling) Waltz in Newfoundland, PA. Jean spent her early days on the family farm before moving to Stroudsburg.
She worked for many years at the former A.B. Wyckoff Department Store in Stroudsburg where she met and later married Frank J. Weller and helped raise his two children after the death of his first wife.
She loved flowers and birds and always had a kind word and was the greatest of grandmothers. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Stroudsburg and the Ladies Auxiliary of the Thomas P. Lambert Post 2540 of East Stroudsburg.
She is survived by her daughter, Carolyn W. Gragone of Mount Bethel; a daughter-in-law, Rita Weller of Stroudsburg; 7 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; 7 great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her husband; a son, Franklin E. Weller; her parents; and 4 siblings.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 16 at 1:30 p.m. in the Lanterman & Allen Funeral Home, 27 Washington Street, East Stroudsburg with the Rev. Carol Brown officiating.
Interment will be in the Laurelwood Cemetery, Stroudsburg.
Relatives and friends may visit from 12:30 p.m. until the time of service at the funeral home.

Diana L. Cramer

Diana L. Cramer, 52, of Saylorsburg, died on Thursday, August 13, at the Liberty Nursing Home in Allentown. She was the wife of Russell E. Cramer, Jr. of Brodheadsville.
She was born in East Stroudsburg, a daughter of Florence (Temby) Davies of Port Richie, Fla., and the late Raymond Davies Sr. She was a member of the Effort United Methodist Church and the church choir.
She worked at Instrument Specialty in Delaware Water Gap for the past 3 years. Prior to that she worked for the PNC Bank in Customer Services in East Stroudsburg for 16 years. Prior to that at Ronson Lighter Corp. in Delaware Water Gap for 10 years on the production line. She also worked for Dr. Kulba in East Stroudsburg as a receptionist. She was also a PA Notary for over 10 years.
She was an avid equestrian and had many horses over the years and was an excellent dressage rider. She was taking Tai Chi.
In addition to her mother and husband she is survived by a daughter, Kenlyn Amodei of Bethlehem; a sister, Lucille Davies of Wilmington, Del.; 3 brothers , Raymond Davies Jr. and Harold Davies, both of Florida, and Robert Davies of Wisconsin; 2 grandsons, Giovanni Amodei and Anthony Amodei of Bethlehem; a granddaughter, Adrianna Amodei of Bethlehem; and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, August 17, at 1:30 p.m. in the Lanterman & Allen Funeral Home, 27 Washington Street, East Stroudsburg.
Interment will be in the Prospect Cemetery, East Stroudsburg. Relatives and friends may pay their respects on Monday from 12:30 p.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home.
