Michael Kelly Lundy, 25, of East Stroudsburg died Saturday as a result of an early morning auto accident on Interstate 80 in Fairfield, N.J.
Born in Boonton, N.J., he resided in Montville, N.J., most of his life, moving to East Stroudsburg three years ago.
For the last three years Mr. Lundy was employed as a landscaper at Shawnee Resorts in Shawnee-on-Delaware. He had been active in the Montville Broncos football and soccer programs.
Survivors include his parents, William and Hilda Lundy; three brothers , William of Rockaway, N.J., James of Boonton and Paul of Montville; three sisters , Marion Hansberry of East Stroudsburg, Debra Lundy of Mount Kisco, N.Y., and Susan Maute of Convent Station, N.J.; and four nieces.
The funeral will be held 9 a.m. Wednesday at the Keri Memorial Home with a 10 a.m. Mass in St. Pius X Church, Montville, N.J. Interment will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Hanover, N.J. Visiting hours Tuesday from 2 to 4 p.m. and from 7 to 9 p.m.

Glenn R. Kaiser Sr.

Glenn R. Kaiser Sr., 55, of Stroudsburg, formerly of Hatboro, died Friday, July 31, at his home. Born on Aug. 20, 1942, in Philadelphia, he is the son of Eleanor and the late Oscar Kaiser.
He graduated from Hatboro-Horsham High School in 1960 and later attended West Chester University. Kaiser served with the U.S. Army both in the Philippines and in Vietnam. He owned and operated Glenn Kaiser Sporting Goods in Hatboro and later worked for the Woolworth Corporation, Keith Nicholas Associates, and was most recently employed as a manufacturers representative for Moulton, Nelon and Cluck Inc. in the hunting and fishing field.
He is survived by Peg Williams of Stroudsburg; a daughter, Tracey A. Borochaner of Amber; and a son, Glenn R. Jr. of Hatboro; and three grandchildren, Bianca, Jacob and Ross.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, Aug. 5, 11:30 a.m. at the funeral home of Louis Swift Plunkett, 529 N. York Rd., Hatboro, with the Rev. Hastings officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Park, Philadelphia. There will be a calling hour Wednesday from 10 to 11:30 a.m. at the funeral home.

Mildred E. DeAngelis

Mildred E. "Swannee" DeAngelis, of Mountainhome, died Monday morning at the age of 80. She was the widow of Andrew J. "Ace" DeAngelis, who died July 12, 1996.
Born on April 8, 1918, in Camden, S.C., she was the daughter of the late Charles Emizile and Mildred E. (Fowler) Mitchell. She grew up in Horse Shoe, Henderson County, N.C., and lived in Monroe County since 1950 moving here from Philadelphia.
In the 1950's she owned and operated Swannee's Clothes Line apparel shop and also co-owned Dann's Food Market both in Canadensis. From 1968 to 1972 she attended East Stroudsburg University obtaining certification in childhood education and worked for the East Stroudsburg School System for 5½ years. In 1973 she became a full-time employee of the Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board and worked in the Mt. Pocono and Mountainhome liquor stores until retiring in 1980.
She was a member of the Mountainhome United Methodist Church and also a life long member of the Barrett Township Community Club.
Surviving are a daughter, Jeri L. Dann, at home; a son, Thomas W. Wilson, of Buck Hill Falls; three grandsons and one granddaughter, all of Paris, France; two great-grandchildren; her dog, Margaret; and her cat, Scott.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday from the Mountainhome United Methodist Church with the Rev. Herbert W. Detweiler officiating. Burial will follow in Seese Hill Cemetery, Canadensis. There will be no calling hours.

Elizabeth Frances (Betty) Scheirer, 85, of East Stroudsburg, died on Tuesday, August 4, 1998 in Brookmont Health Care Center, Effort. She was the wife of the late Ralph B. Scheirer.
Born in Stroudsburg, a daughter of the late William and Lesta (Siptroth) Andress. She was a life long resident of Monroe County.
She was a member of the East Stroudsburg United Methodist Church serving on various committees and teaching Sunday School in the Beginning Dept. for 30 years, and was a Girl Scout Leader for 15 years. She was a member of the Eastern Star Chapter 99.
She is survived by a son, Douglas Scheirer of East Stroudsburg; a daughter, Jane Melvin of Oakdale, Conn.; three brothers , Al Andress of Doylestown, Harry Andress of Fla., and John Andress of White Creek, Tenn.; a sister, Mary Hilliard of Stroudsburg; 6 grandchildren; and 9 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 8, 1998 at 11 a.m. in Lanterman & Allen Funeral Home, Inc., 27 Washington Street, East Stroudsburg.
There will be a viewing on Saturday, Aug. 8 from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home.
Committal will take place in Prospect Cemetery, East Stroudsburg, PA.

Bernard F. Clemens, 83, of Stroudsburg, died on Tuesday, July 28, at the Lehigh Valley Hospital in Salisbury Township. He was the husband of the late Daisy Mae (Miller) Clemens.
He was born in New York City, N.Y., a son of the late Bernard and Ottillie Clemens. He had been a resident of Monroe County for most of his lifetime and also a resident of Merritt Island, Florida.
Prior to his retirement, he was employed in Automobile Sales in Monroe County. Prior to that he was a Florida State Automobile Inspector. He was also a Real Estate Agent in Florida and owned and operated a water purification plant in Coco Beach, Florida. Prior to moving to Florida, he owned and operated the former Atlantic Service Station at the corner of West Broad and Courtland Street in East Stroudsburg. He enjoyed racing both cars and boats in the 1940s and 50s. He was a member of the Stroudsburg Lions Club.
He is survived by many nieces and nephews, including: Joan S. Raughley of East Stroudsburg; Fred Duckloe and Barbara Townsend, both of Stroudsburg; Buddy Lord, Kathy Lord, Gary Fish, and Sandra Shiffer, all of East Stroudsburg; and Bernard Fish of Sarasota, Fla.; and many grand nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held Monday, Aug. 3 in the Lanterman & Allen Funeral Home, 27 Washington Street, East Stroudsburg with the Rev. Raymond Poortstra officiating. Interment in Laurelwood Cemetery, Stroudsburg.

Monsignor Joseph J. Super

Monsignor Joseph J. Super, pastor emeritus of Saint John the Baptist Church, Pittston, died on Tuesday, August 4, 1998 at Penn State Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center, Plains, following a brief illness.
Monsignor Super, son of the late Joseph and Susan Falatko Super, was born in Zakarovec, Slavakia, on August 27, 1919 and immigrated with his family to the United States in 1924. His early education was in the Taylor Public Schools and Saint Thomas High School. Monsignor attended Saint Thomas College, now the University of Scranton, and earned a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy from the University of Western Ontario. He completed his theological studies at Saint Peter's Seminary, London, Ontario, Canada. He was ordained to the priesthood by the Most Reverend William J. Hafey, D.D., late Bishop of Scranton, on June 3, 1944.
Following ordination, Monsignor Super's first assignment was as assistant pastor at Saint Matthew's, East Stroudsburg, in June, 1944. Monsignor served in a similar capacity at Saint Cecelia's, Wyoming; Saint John the Evangelist, Scranton; Holy Ghost, Olyphant; and Saint John the Baptist, Pittston. Monsignor's first pastorate was in September, 1965 at Saint John the Baptist, Pittston, where he remained until his appointment as pastor emeritus on July 8, 1996.
Monsignor was elevated to Prelate of Honor by His Holiness, Pope John Paul II, on November 2, 1978.
Monsignor Super held many important positions in the Diocese. He served as associate editor of The Catholic Light; Junior Clergy Examining Board (past president); Board of Diocesan Consultors; Diocesan School Board; Board of Pastors of Seton Catholic High School, Pittston, (past president); Priest Retirement Advisory Board and Diocesan Synodal Board.
Monsignor Super is survived by two sisters , Anna Borkowski and Susan Vitullo, both of Glassport, Pennsylvania , and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by two brothers , Joseph and John, who died in infancy.
A Pontifical, Concelebrated Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by the Most Reverend James C. Timlin, D.D., Bishop of Scranton, on Friday, August 7, 1998 at 11 a.m. in Saint John the Baptist Church, Pittston. A Mass of Transferal will be held on Thursday at 7 p.m., with the Very Reverend James Paisley, V.F., presiding at Saint John the Baptist Church. Viewing will be in Saint John's Rectory Thursday from 2 p.m. until the time of the Transferal. Viewing will also take place Friday morning prior to the 11 a.m. Funeral Mass in Saint John's Church. Interment will be in Saint John the Baptist Cemetery, Exeter.

Janice J. Gately, 41, of Smithfield Township, died Sunday at home. She was the wife of Thomas R. Gately, at home.
Born on August 22, 1956 in Sussex, N.J., she was the daughter of Robert and Glenda (Sartel) Breen of Sussex, N.J., and had lived in the area since 1980. She had been a safety officer for Fernwood Public Safety for 17½ years.
She was a member of the Middle Smithfield Presbyterian Church.
In addition to her husband and parents, she is survived by a brother, Gerald Breen of Sussex, N.J.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 1 p.m. in the Middle Smithfield Presbyterian Church with Rev. William Schram officiating. Burial will follow in the Middle Smithfield Presbyterian Cemetery.
There will be a visitation on Saturday from noon until the time of service at the church.

John W. Jenkins, 76, of Effort and Englewood, Florida, died on Monday evening at the home of his daughter Nancy J. Landis of Moore Township, Northampton County where he was living. He was the husband of Doris S. (Shearer) Jenkins, at home; they were married July 26, 1947.
He was born in Easton, on August 4, 1922, the son of the late William A. and Margaret I. Edwards Jenkins. He was a member of Effort United Methodist Church, Effort.
He was a veteran of the United States Navy, serving during World War II; He was a member of the American Legion Post #0397 Hellertown for over 50 years; and a member of the Disabled American Veterans Chapter FL82 since 1984.
Prior to his retirement in 1974, he worked as a salesman for Tastykake in South Bethlehem and Hellertown for 30 years. Prior to being in the service he worked at Bethlehem Steel for several years.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by 1 son, Craig W. Jenkins of Herndon, Va.; and 2 daughters , Nancy J. wife of Lynn Landis of Moore Township and Jennifer A. wife of Michael Leseberg of Sciota; 3 granddaughters; 1 sister, Mary Louise Burkhardt of Bethlehem.
Graveside funeral services will be held on Tuesday, August 11, 1998 at 11 a.m. at Mt. Eaton Cemetery, Saylorsburg, Ross Township with the Rev. Dave Felker officiating. Burial will follow. Cremation will be in the George G. Bensing Funeral Home Inc. Crematory, Moorestown. There will be no viewing.

Frank Andrew Yakscoe, Sr., 63, of Pocono Pines, died Tuesday evening in his home. He was the husband of Anna (Hawk) Yakscoe, at home.
Born on November 16, 1934, in Port Kennedy, PA; he was a son of the late Joseph and Mildred (Royle) Yakscoe and was a lifetime resident of Pennsylvania moving to Pocono Pines in 1973.
He had worked for the Tobyhanna Township Maintenance Building Department of Public Works for the past 20 years.
Surviving in addition to his wife are: two sons , Frank Andrew Yakscoe, Jr. of Long Pond and John Allen Yakscoe of Blakeslee; two daughters , Holly Lynn Yakscoe of Pocono Pines and Sandra Lee Yakscoe of Kennesaw, Ga.; two brothers , Daniel Yakscoe of Trooper and William "Buck" Yakscoe of Willowgrove; two sisters , Mildred Piazza of Norristown and Elizabeth Yakscoe of Trooper; four grandchildren, Dana Yakscoe, Angela Yakscoe, Ashley Yakscoe, and Brittany Yakscoe; and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday from the William H. Clark Funeral Home, with Pastor Barry L. Whitmer officiating. Burial will follow in Pocono Lake Cemetery.
There will be a viewing on Thursday evening from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at the funeral home.

Walter C. LaBar Sr.

Walter C. LaBar Sr., 73, of Stroudsburg. He lived in Belleville, N.J. many years before returning to Stroudsburg 13 years ago. He was the husband of the late Jean (Nee Sica), and the son of the late Leroy and Dorothy LaBar.
He was employed as custodian for the Belleville Board of Education for 20 years retiring in 1985. He was a member of the Eagles Club F.O.E. 1106 in Stroudsburg.
He is survived by six children: Walter LaBar Jr., Louis LaBar, Joann Ness, Cynthia Teddick, Deborah Gammo, and Camille Hornung; one sister, Marjorie Anton; one brother, Leroy LaBar; and 13 grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a brother, William LaBar.
Funeral services will be held at 8:30 a.m. Saturday from the Zarro Funeral Home, 145 Harrison Street, Bloomfield, N.J., thence to St. Anthony's Church Belleville, N.J., where at 9:30 a.m. a Mass of Christian Burial will be offered. Lillie C. Leida, 101, St. Augustine, Fla., formerly of Stroudsburg, died on Thursday in St. Augustine. She was the wife of the late Samuel K. Leida, who died in 1977.
Born in Saylorsburg, she was the daughter of the late Franklin and Mary Ann (Gower) Andrew.
She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Stroudsburg.
She is survived by a daughter, Jean L. Ace of St. Augustine, Fla.; a son, Charles Leida of Tulsa, Okla.; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Graveside funeral services will be held on Wednesday, Aug. 12 at 1 p.m. from the Laurelwood Cemetery, Stroudsburg.
There will be no viewing.
