JOSEPHINE K. ADAMKOVICH
Josephine K. Adamkovich, 84, of Latrobe, died Friday, March 24, 2000, in Latrobe Area Hospital. She was born March 19, 1916, in Hostetter, a daughter of the late Thomas and Catherine Palacki Kubit. She was a member of St. John the Evangelist Church, Latrobe. She was the owner and operator of the former Chestnut Ridge Hunting and Fishing Club. She was a member of the St. Vincent Seniors, the Lutheran Seniors, Golden Agers Seniors and St. John Seniors, and the Fifth Ward Senior Citizens Center. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond G. Adamkovich; an infant brother, Walter; and three brothers , Edward, Emil and Joseph Kubit. Survivors include a daughter, Kathleen Leachman and her husband, Michael, of Latrobe; a son, Joseph R. Adamkovich of Latrobe; two sisters , Louise Korzak of Latrobe and Mary Dziak of Youngstown, Pa.; and a grandson, Michael Leachman. Friends will be received Sunday from 1 to 9 p.m. in the JOHN J. MARY AUJAY BEARDSLEY
Mary Aujay Beardsley, 81, of Rillton, died Friday, March 24, 2000, at the Baldock Heath Care Centre, North Huntingdon. She was born Jan. 11, 1919, in Marianna, Pa., a daughter of the late Michael and Antoinette (Kisten) Aujay. Mary was a homemaker and was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Rillton VFW Post #8518 and Herminie Senior Citizen Center. In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by her first husband, Ephraim Beardsley; and her second husband, Nick Rullo; also two brothers , John and Fred Aujay; a sister, Nellie Primozich; and a granddaughter, April Mears. Mary is survived by three daughters , Mrs. Carolyn Mears and her husband, Blaine, of both New Castle and Fort Myers, Fla., Mrs. Janet Ricci and her husband, Robert, of Rillton and Mrs. Linda Boltin and her husband, Gerald, of Chicago, Ill.; nine grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; a brother, William "Bill" Aujay of Rillton; three sisters , Mrs. Helen Sikora, Mrs. Violet Fusco and her husband, Joe, and Mrs. Dorothy Cheselske and her husband, Ted, all of Rillton; and several nieces and nephews. CLARA BOYERINAS
Clara Boyerinas, 84, formerly of East Vandergrift, died Thursday, March 23, 2000, in her residence. Born Aug. 5, 1915, in East Vandergrift, she was a daughter of Anthony and Josephine Demolin, and had lived in East Vandergrift most of her life until moving to Hempfield Towers in 1993. She had owned and operated the Blue Heaven Tavern in East Vandergrift for many years prior to retiring. Mrs. Boyerinas had been a member of St. Casimir Catholic Church (which became Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church) in East Vandergrift. Survivors include two sons , George Boyerinas of Greensburg and Benny Boyerinas of Vandergrift; two grandsons; and a sister, Ann "Blondie" Demolin of East Vandergrift. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Benedict Boyerinas, in 1969; two brothers , Felix Demolin and Paul Demolin; and two sisters , Lottie Streclec and Pauline Evers. Arthur "Barry" Dagnall, 69, of East Pittsburgh, on Thursday, March 23, 2000. He served as a sergeant in the U.S. Army during the Korean conflict and he was a member of VFW Post 5008 in East Pittsburgh. He also served as a police officer in East Pittsburgh for many years. He was the husband of the late Nancy (Hill) Dagnall; Father of Cmdr. Barry Dagnall and his wife, Amy, of Virginia Beach, Va., Jaci Szczepaniak and her husband, John, of Chicago, Ill., and Michael Dagnall and his wife, Heidi, of Greensburg; and brother of Larry Dagnall of East Pittsburgh; also seven grandchildren. Clara M. DeBone, 77, of Grapeville, formerly of Hempfield Towers, died Wednesday, March 22, 2000, in Monsour Medical Center, Jeannette. She was born May 18, 1922, in Greenwald, a daughter of the late Michael and Florence Domenick DeBone. Prior to her retirement, she was employed by Westmoreland Glass of Grapeville. She was a member of Ascension Church of Jeannette. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Louis DeBone; and a nephew, Alan W. Rogan. Surviving are a niece, Charlene Matijevic and her husband, John, with whom she resided; three sisters , Dorothy Rogan and husband, Wayne, of Grapeville, Louise Lostracco of Chicago, Ill., and Mary Santiago of San Leandro, Calif.; two brothers , Michael DeBone and wife, Ruth, of San Leandro, Calif., and Samuel DeBone and wife, Una, of Middletown, Calif.; a sister-in-law, Lucy DeBone of Wilkinsburg; and numerous nieces and nephews. James Duchek, 85, of Poland, Ohio, died Wednesday, March 22, 2000, at his home. He was born July 29, 1914, in Yukon, a son of the late Joseph and Frances Rosa Duchek. Surviving are three children: a daughter, Joan Williams and her husband, Glenn, of St. Paul, N.C., Jerry Duchek and his wife, Alverda, of Youngstown, Ohio, and J.B. Duchek and his wife, Eva, of Vanderbilt; seven grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; a sister, Frances Mautino, of Wyano; and a special friend, Marie Constance, of Poland, Ohio. He was preceded in death by a grandson, J.B. Duchek Jr.; and a brother, Anthony Duchek. Friends will be received in the RALPH E. LEROY B. DUMSICK SR.
Leroy B. Dumsick Sr., 63, of Sister Bay, Wis., died Wednesday, March 22, 2000, at his home. He was born Jan. 7, 1937, in Jeannette, a son of the late Ruth Dumsick Hertzog and Carl Dumsick Sr. Mr. Dumsick was owner and operator of Bay Shore Cottages in Sister Bay, Wis., a member of Salmon Unlimited and Salmon Sportsfishing Club, and a graduate of Allied Institute of Technology for Mechanical Drafting. He also served in the U.S. Marine Corps and was a member of American Legion - Billy Weiss Post. On Sept. 22, 1984, he married Johann Boswell on Lake Michigan. Survivors include his wife, Johann; and Teresa Dumsick, the mother of his children: son, Leroy (Patty) Dumsick Jr. of Rosemont, Ill., and daughters , Harriet (Gary) Marcellus of River Grove, Ill., and Christine (Robert) Neumann of Chicago, Ill.; seven grandchildren; and a godchild. He also is survived by five sisters , Carolyn Covin, Sharon Farabaugh, Marlene Brown, Ruth Lekawa and Wanda Pevornik; three brothers , Carl Dumsick Jr., Robert Dumsick and Charles Hertzog Jr.; and many nieces and nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews and friends. Visitation will be at the CASPERSON FUNERAL HOME in Sister Bay, Wis., and will continue to Skaja Terrace Funeral Home, Niles, Ill. Helen M. Fenton, 91, of Latrobe, died Friday, March 24, 2000, in the Latrobe Area Hospital. She was born Nov. 20, 1908, in Latrobe (Derry Township), a daughter of the late Elijah J. and Minnie (Nichols) Reed. She was a member of the United Presbyterian Church in Latrobe. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Matthew Russell Fenton; a son, Robert M. Fenton; a daughter, Marcia Cassol; three brothers , John, Charles and Paul Reed; a sister, Mabel Poorman; and a grandson, Brian Fenton. She is survived by three children, James R. Fenton and wife, Gloria, Donald R. Fenton and wife, Patricia, and Kathleen Wittenmaier, all of Latrobe; 12 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; a brother, Jay Reed, of Latrobe; two sisters , Lois Harvey of Latrobe and Martha Brinker of Davis, Calif.; and a number of nieces and nephews. William R. Foster, 84, of Greensburg, died Friday, March 24, 2000, at the Westmoreland Regional Hospital, Greensburg. He was born Dec. 30, 1915, in Canton, Pa., a son of the late William Meyer and Josephine Lindley Foster. Prior to his retirement in 1982, he was employed for 36 years by Westinghouse Electric Corp., Pittsburgh office. He was a World War II veteran, having served as a chief warrant officer in the U.S. Army. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Greensburg, was an Eagle Scout recipient, was a 10-year volunteer at Westmoreland Regional Hospital, and was a former member of the B.P.O.E. #511 of Greensburg. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Dr. Richard L. Foster. He is survived by his wife, Miriam Watt Foster; three daughters , Mrs. Lynn Hoak and her husband, Richard, and Carolyn R. Wayne L. Johns, 81, of North Huntingdon, died Tuesday, March 21, 2000, in Mt. Pleasant. He was born Feb. 24, 1919, in Rillton, a son of the late Robert W. and Sarah (Ludwick) Johns. He was a self-employed business owner for Dairy Queen Association of Pennsylvania Inc. He was first secretary-treasurer of the Norwin Band Aids, 25 years operational manager for Gibraltor Refinery and Chemical Co., a past president and member of the Dairy Queen Association of Pennsylvania since 1954 and also secretary-treasurer for 25 years, a member of Shidle Lodge F&AM #601, Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite Valley of Pittsburgh, Tall Cedars of Lebanon Westmoreland Forest #77, and Immanuel Lutheran Church, Irwin. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Marian (Carlson) Johns; and three brothers , Frank, Harry, and Robert W. Johns. Survived by a son, William W. Johns and wife, Trudy, of North Huntingdon; a daughter, Dr. Sandra Davidson and husband, Timothy, of Columbus, N.C.; a brother, Jay Johns of New Stanton; three grandchildren, Steven W. Anna Kuszaj, 86, of Hutchinson, died Friday, March 24, 2000, at the Westmoreland Manor, Hempfield Township. She was born March 14, 1914, in Yukon, a daughter of the late George and Barbara Bolkovac. Mrs. Kuszaj was a homemaker. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Alexander J. "Alex" Kuszaj, in 1969; and a brother, George Bolkovac Jr. Mrs. Kuszaj is survived by a son, Alex, and his wife, Nancy Kashay, of Redlands, Calif.; two grandsons, Mark and Jason Kashay; a great-granddaughter, Adrienne Kashay; and a number of nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews. John M. Lodzsun, 88, of Jeannette, died Wednesday, March 22, 2000, at UPMC Presbyterian, Oakland. He was born May 7, 1911, in South Fork, Pa., a son of the late John and Mary Zubaka Lodzsun. Prior to his retirement, he was employed by the Jeannette School District as music supervisor. He was a member of the Ascension Church of Jeannette and the church's Holy Name Society and a former director of the church choir and also the Jeannette Centennial Band. John was also an avid fisherman and belonged to the Twin Lakes Fishing Club. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife, Elizabeth Pehrson Lodzsun, in 1996; and a brother, Julius Lodsun, in February of this year. He is survived by three daughters , Judith L. Post and Susan J. Lodzsun, both of Connecticut, and Victoria L. Cima of Ligonier; a son, Michael Lodzsun and wife, Verna, of Jeannette; a sister, Mary Babyak of West Virginia; five grandchildren, James Post, Timothy Cima, and Adam, Sarah and Emily Lodzsun; a great-grandson, Austin Post; and several nieces and nephews. Edgar B. Marshall, 85, of Greensburg, died Thursday, March 23, 2000, in Hempfield Manor, Hempfield Township. He was born Oct. 22, 1914, in Loyalhanna Township, a son of the late Frank S. and Nina G. Waddle Marshall. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Greensburg. He was the owner and operator of Marshall's Retreading in Greensburg for 43 years. He was a member of B.P.O.E. #511, L.O.O.M. #1151, VFW #33, Young Voters Club, and Hose Co. #6 Firemen's Club, all in Greensburg, the American Legion Post 981 in South Greensburg, and an honorary member of the AMVETS in Greensburg. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Annabelle Lawrence Marshall, in 1974; a sister, Lillian Smith; and a brother, William R. Marshall. He is survived by a son, Edgar R. "Jack" and his wife, Donna Marshall, of Greensburg; a stepson, Steve and his wife, Joann Lawrence, of Greensburg; three stepdaughters, Carol and her husband, G. William Clark, of Greensburg, Margaret and her husband, Frank Bassegio, of North Huntingdon and Linda and Robert Vertosick of Greensburg; a sister, Marjorie Riggle of Elderton; two grandchildren; a great-grandchild; nine stepgrandchildren; six stepgreat-grandchildren; several nieces; and a nephew. Henry G. Roscher, 79, of Jeannette, died Thursday, March 23, 2000, in the Westmoreland Regional Hospital, Greensburg. He was born July 18, 1920, in Manor, a son of the late Ignatz and Elizabeth Zekar Roscher. Prior to his retirement, he was the owner/operator of the Roscher Heating and Air Conditioning Co. He was a member of the Holy Trinity Lutheran Church of Jeannette, a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served in World War II as an MP, and a member of the Jeannette American Legion Post #344. In addition to his parents, Henry was predeceased by three brothers , Ignatious "Iggy," Joseph and William Roscher; and two sisters , Bertha Rowe and Dorothy Miller. He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Zwinski Roscher; two daughters , Dorette Lanis and husband, Del, of Cincinnati, Ohio, and Doreen King and husband, Thomas, of Jeannette; four grandchildren, Derek, Stephen, Scott and Elizabeth; a sister, Marie Worthy of Jeannette; three brothers , John Roscher of New Jersey, Fred Roscher and wife, Carolyn, of Tennessee, and Norman Roscher and wife, Sue, of Apollo; a brother-in-law, Robert Rowe; a sister-in-law, Joanne Roscher; a great companion, the family pet Laddy Boy; and numerous nieces and nephews. John J. Sabol, 73, of Greensburg, died Thursday, March 23, 2000, in the Westmoreland Regional Hospital, Greensburg. He was born June 4, 1926, in Dunlo, Pa., a son of the late Michael and Johanna Adamcik Sabol. He was a member of Our Lady of Grace Roman Catholic Church in Greensburg. Prior to retirement, he had been employed by the Elliott Co. of Jeannette. He was a World War II veteran, having served in the U.S. Army, and a member of the A.M.S. Club of South Greensburg. He was an avid golfer and belonged to the Mt. Odin Golf Course. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers , Michael and Andrew Sabol; and two sisters , Mary Vinkler and Helen Polka. He is survived by his wife, Mafalda R. (DeBone) Sabol; a son, John Michael and his wife, Rita Sabol, of Greensburg; a daughter, Anita M. Sabol and her fiance, Joseph Flanders, of Greensburg; two brothers , Fred and George Sabol of Ohio; three sisters , Amelia Fargus, Evelyn Stano and Anna Palka, all of Ohio; several nieces and nephews, including Damion Giacchino and Laura Kostosky; and a great-nephew, Dillon Keith Kostosky.
