Dominick Marchese, age 64, of Florida, died Friday, July 10, 1998, at the Indian River Memorial Hospital in Vero Beach, Florida.
Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., he was the son of Cologero "Charles" and Lucy (Mancuso) Marchese of Gilbert.
He had been a Purchasing Agent for The Bear Automotive Equipment in Stroudsburg for 10 years.
He was of the catholic faith.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by a daughter, Joanne wife of Tom Davido of Ridgeway, Pa.; 2 sons , Dan Marchese of Kunkletown and Dean Marchese of Fredrick, Md.; a sister, Rosemarie wife of Pasquale "Pat" Coppola of Kresgeville; 2 brothers , Carmine "John" Marchese of Brodheadsville and Charles Marchese of Hampton Bays, Long Island, N.Y.; and 3 grandchildren.
A Memorial Mass will be held 11 a.m. Saturday at Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Gilbert, with the Rev. Father William McCawley celebrant.

Russell O. Hilton, 75, of Stroudsburg died Sunday in the Pocono Medical Center, East Stroudsburg. He was the husband of Doris S. (Robinson) Hilton, at home.
Born on June 4, 1923, in Philadelphia, he was the son of the late Trainer and Hanna (Cooper) Hilton and had lived in the area for the past forty years. He had worked in maintenance at the East Stroudsburg University for seventeen years, retiring in 1985.
A veteran of World War II, he served in the U.S. Army. He was a member of the Christian Life Assembly, Stroudsburg; the Gideon Masonic Lodge #145, Stroudsburg; Past District Lecture for the 9th Masonic District; Past Vice President of the NAACP, Monroe County Branch; member of the NAACP, Allentown, and a former member of the Monroe County Park and Recreation Board.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by three stepdaughters, Victoria Mendez of Bethlehem, Anna Cannion of Philadelphia, and Paulett Strand of Williamstown, N.J.; a stepson, Albert "Butch" Owens of Cresco; a sister, Ruth Robinson of Philadelphia; nine grandchildren; six great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Masonic services will be held on Friday at 1:30 p.m. followed by Christian services conducted by Rev. John Puleo at 2 p.m. at the William H. Clark Funeral Home, . Burial will be in the Stroudsburg Cemetery.
There will be a viewing on Friday from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. at the funeral home.

James F. Hopkins

James F. Hopkins, 70, Mount Pocono, died on Wednesday at Pocono Medical Center in East Stroudsburg. He was the husband of Emily (Burton) Hopkins, at home.
Born in Philadelphia, he was the son of the late Frank and Mary (Meehan) Hopkins. He was a member of the Mount Pocono United Methodist Church.
He worked as the Superintendent of the Custodial Staff at Pocono Mountain School District for 15 years before retiring in 1990. He also worked for Philko in Philadelphia for many years.
He was a member of the Merchant Marines.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters , Cindy and Lori; a son, James F., Jr.; a brother, Thomas; several grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a brother, Francis.
Private Funeral Services will be held at the convenience of the family. Burial will be in the Laurelwood Cemetery, Stroudsburg.

Glenn R. Wallingford

Glenn R. Wallingford, 74, of Appenzell, died Tuesday evening in the Slate Belt Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Bangor.
Born on April 15, 1924 in Appenzell, he was a son of the late James A. and Evelyn (Paul) Wallingford and was a lifetime resident of Appenzell.
A graduate of Churchman Business School in Easton and East Stroudsburg State Teachers College, he earned his Masters Degree from Lehigh University.
He was a fifth grade teacher in East Stroudsburg School District for over 40 years having taught in the Middle Smithfield School and then for two years in the North Courtland School until retiring. He was a very well liked teacher having given special help to many students and took many school whale watching trips and class trips to Washington , D.C.
Along with his brothers , Wayne, Clair, James and Glenn he served in the United States Army during World War II at the same time and was a member of the J. Simpson Africa Lodge 628 F&AM, East Stroudsburg; the Lehigh Consistory; the Sullivan Trail Memorial Post 5382 VFW, Sciota; and St. Mark's Community Lutheran Church, Appenzell.
Surviving are a sister, Sue Henry, of East Stroudsburg; four brothers , Clyde H. Wallingford and Clair P. Wallingford, both of Appenzell, Wayne Wallingford, of Swiftwater, and James D. Wallingford of RD#3, Stroudsburg; and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 1 p.m. from St. Mark's Community Lutheran Church, Appenzell, with the Rev. Harry M. Laubach officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Appenzell.
There will be a viewing on Friday evening from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at the William H. Clark Funeral Home, with Masonic services at 8 p.m. by the J. Simpson Africa Lodge 628 F&AM.

Lillian W. Wacker, 93, of Leesburg, Fla., formerly of RD 2 Saylorsburg, died Wednesday in the LRMC Nursing Center, Leesburg.
She was the wife of the late Frank G. Wacker.
Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., she was a daughter of the late Henry and Bertha (Rechnagle) Buehler.
She was a member of Zion United Lutheran Church in Brodheadsville.
She is survived by a nephew, Richard C. Palmer of Ocean Pines, Md., and a niece, Frances Buehler of Long Island, N.Y.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday from Zion United Lutheran Church, Brodheadsville, with the Rev. William Zimmermann officiating. Burial will be in Buena Vista Cemetery, Brodheadsville. A viewing will be held on Tuesday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service from the church.

William C. Weber, Sr., of Stroudsburg, died on Wednesday at Stroud Manor in East Stroudsburg. He was the husband of Sarah (Sox) Weber, at home.
Born in East Stroudsburg, he was the son of the late Frederick and Emma (Kunath) Weber. He was a lifelong resident of Monroe County.
He was a 1943 graduate of Stroudsburg High School.
He was employed by Hughes Printing Company in East Stroudsburg for 38 years as a journeyman bookbinder, before retiring in 1986.
He served one term as a Hamilton Township Supervisor from 1976 to 1982.
He was a member of J. Simpson Africa #628 Free and Accepted Masons. He was an elementary basketball coach for 20 years at the Hamilton Elementary School.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters , Winifred Staples of Stroudsburg and Mary E. Ecker of Schamburg, Ill.; four sons , William C. Weber, Jr. and Jed Weber, both of Stroudsburg; Kraig Weber of Carmel, Ind.; and Kris Weber of Larksburg, Colo; a sister, Rose Ditmeyer of Union Beach, N.J.; 13 grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 29, 1998 at 11 a.m. from the St. John's Evangelical Congregational Church in Bartonsville, with the Rev. James E. Griel officiating. Burial will be in the Custard's Cemetery, Bartonsville.
There will be calling hours on Saturday from 10 to 11 a.m. from the church.

Felicia A. Mailho, 59, of Bushkill, died on Friday, August 28, at the Allied Services Skilled Nursing Center in Scranton.
Born in Summit, N.J., she was a daughter of the late Rocco and Faffaela (Moocia) Ferrara. She had been a resident of Pike County for the past seven years and prior to that of South Plainfield, N.J.
Prior to her retirement in 1997, she was employed as a dispatcher at Resorts USA for five years. Prior to that she was employed by Revlon Corporation in Edison, N. J., as a secretary for 17 years.
She is survived by a son, Jason Mailho of Bushkill; a grandson, Brett David Mailho of East Stroudsburg; a sister, Dolores Belly of Long Pond; many nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, September 1, at 10 a.m. in St. John's Catholic Church, Marshalls Creek with Msgr. Kevin O'Neill as the celebrant.
Interment will be in the Prospect Cemetery, East Stroudsburg. Relatives and friends may pay their respects on Monday evening from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at the funeral home.

Franklin B. "Punch" Clifton
August 27, 1998
Franklin B. "Punch" Clifton, 80, of Stroudsburg, died Thursday in the Pocono Medical Center, East Stroudsburg. He was the husband of Nellie "Pat" Clifton. They were married by the Rev. Norman Savage in the First Baptist Church, East Stroudsburg on February 8, 1946.
Born on December 14, 1917 in East Stroudsburg, he was the son of the late Floyd and Catherine (Marsh) Clifton and had lived in the area all of his life. Before retiring, he was employed as a plumber for 45 years at H.C. Archibald in Stroudsburg.
A veteran of World War II, he served in the U.S. Army Air Corp where he retired as a Staff Sergeant. He was a member of the First Baptist Church, East Stroudsburg where he served as Deacon, Sunday School teacher and choir member. He was a retired member of the Phoenix Fire Engine & Hose Company #2 of the Stroudsburg Fire Department and the Phoenix Firemen's Relief Association.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Captain Bradford Clifton, husband of Margaret Clifton, of the U.S. Air Force in Tucson, AZ; a sister, Rosalie Schmidt of Stroudsburg; a niece, Madene Bolcar of Stroudsburg and several great nieces and great nephews. He was preceded in death by a sister, Madene Lockwitch and a brother, Russell Clifton.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. in the First Baptist Church, North Courtland Street and East Broad Street, East Stroudsburg with the Rev. David Cornell and Rev. Dawes Dunham officiating. Interment will be in the Evergreen Hill Memorial Garden, East Stroudsburg. The Stroudsburg Fire Department will conduct graveside service.
There will be a viewing on Tuesday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service at the church.

Alexander "Cheese" Jones, Jr., 45, of Stroudsburg, died Wednesday, August 26, in Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township. He was the husband of Bessie (Rouch) Jones of Stroudsburg.
Born in Lake City, Fla., he was the son of Leila May (Hawkins) Drayton of Stroudsburg and the late Alexander Jones, Sr. He was a resident of Monroe County for the past 30 years.
In addition to his wife and mother , he is survived by a son, Michael Jones of Lake City, Fla.; a daughter, Tasha Reid of Harrisburg; 5 brothers , Leiland Jones, Jerry Jones, Donnell Jones, all of Stroudsburg, LeRoy Jones of Lake City, Fla., and Kerry Jones of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.; 3 sisters , Annette Jones and Jackie Richardson, both of Stroudsburg, and Angele Jones of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.; 4 grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, Sept. 5, at 12:30 p.m. in the Reaching Out for Jesus Christian Center, 524 Main St., Stroudsburg. Interment will take place in the Stroudsburg Cemetery.
Family and friends may pay their respects from 11:30 a.m. to the time of the service in the church.

Karen L. Cerny, 30, of Mount Bethel, died on August 25, 1998 in the Pocono Medical Center, East Stroudsburg following a long illness. Born in Newton, N.J., to the late Edward Carpenter and her mother , the former Grace Millheim Carpenter of Townsbury, N.J., she had been a life long resident of the Hope-Knowlton Township, N.J., area, moving to Mount Bethel in 1992.
Mrs. Cerny was a computer operator for the First National Bank of Hope, N.J., in their Great Meadow's office. Over the years she had participated in many of area bowling and softball leagues, she was a graduate of North Warren Regional High School in Blairstown, N.J., class of 1986.
In addition to her mother she is survived by her husband, William; two brothers , Sam Carpenter of Easton and Ronald Carpenter of Blairstown, N.J.; six sisters , Nora Drew of Gilbert, Jackie Williams of Belvidere, N.J., Becky Delaney of Maine, Vicki Hummel of Portland, April Benson of Columbia, N.J., and Melissa Carpenter of Portland. Mrs. Cerny was predeceased by her brother Danny in 1968.
