Michael Timothy Walsh, 22, of Stockholm, N.J., died Sunday, July 5, 1998.
He was the son of Raymond P. Walsh Sr. and Patricia (Grace) Walsh of Stockholm, N.J.
He was a 1995 graduate of Jefferson Township High School, where he played football for four years and was captain of the varsity football team. He was attending East Stroudsburg University, where he was a defensive tackle on the varsity football team.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by a brother, Raymond P. Walsh Jr. of Lake Worth, Fla., and 2 sisters , Patricia Tomol of Albrightsville, and Kathaleen Dockerty of Boston Spa, N.Y.
Visitation will be on Tuesday from 7 to 9:30 p.m. and Wednesday from 2 to 5 p.m. and 7 to 9:30 p.m. at Lesko-Stickle Funeral Home, 187 LaRue Road, Newfoundland. Funeral service will be on Thursday at 10 a.m. at St. John Vianney Roman Catholic Church, Route 23, Stockholm, N.J. Interment in Milford Cemetery, Milford.

Eugene J. Coleman, Sr.

Eugene J. Coleman, Sr., 83, of Stroudsburg died Sunday at home. He was the husband of Anne Coleman who preceded him in death in 1996.
Born in Scranton, he was a son of the late Eugene and Catherine (Dunleavy) Coleman. He lived in Stroudsburg for the past forty-two years moving here from Scranton.
He was a member of St. Luke's Roman Catholic Church, Stroudsburg, and various social organizations including the Knights of Columbus, Stroudsburg, the Fraternal Order of Elks #319, East Stroudsburg and the Pocono Irish-American Club, which honored him and his wife as Grand Marshalls in 1994. He and his family were past recipients of the Pocono Mountains Chamber of Commerce Business Family of the Year Award.
He was a veteran of World War II having served in the U.S. Army. He later worked twenty-five years for the Internal Revenue Service, retiring to private accounting practice in 1970.
He is survived by two daughters , Nancy Bradley of Tannersville and Mari Coleman of Stroudsburg; four sons , Gene Coleman of Stroudsburg, Donald Coleman of Chevy Chase, MD, Michael Coleman of Atlanta, GA and Edward Coleman of Stroudsburg; three sisters , Marion Dougherty, Florence Young and Catherine Mahon; fifteen grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a brother, Edward Coleman and a sister, Helen Coleman.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Friday in St. Luke's Roman Catholic Church, Main Street, Stroudsburg with the Rev. Thomas McLaughlin as celebrant. Burial will follow in the Cathedral Cemetery, Scranton.
There will be viewing hours from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday and from 3:30 to 5:30 and 7 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday in the William H. Clark Funeral Home, 1003 Main Street Stroudsburg.

Mary E. Lewis, 72, of Pocono Pines, died Sunday, July 5, in the Brookmont Health Care Center, Effort. She was the wife of Leon N. Lewis at home.
Born in Graham, Iowa, she was the daughter of the late George and Grace (Hook) Lester.
She was a lifelong resident of the Pocono Pines area and was of the Methodist faith. She was employed as a waitress for many years in the Monroe County area.
In addition to her husband she is survived by four daughters , Penny Clark, wife of Steven Clark of Mount Pocono, Crystal Alfieri, wife of Joseph Alfieri of Upper Lehigh, Elizabeth Dewitsky and Irene Lewis both of Pocono Pines; six grandchildren and one great grandson.
Private funeral services were held at the convenience of the family. Cremation took place at the HG Smith Crematory, Stroudsburg. The Joseph J. Pula Funeral Home, 23 North Ninth Street, Stroudsburg was in charge of the arrangements.

Anna Louisa Durchlaub

Anna Louisa Durchlaub, age 101, died Wednesday at IHS at Julia Ribaudo, Lake Ariel. She was formerly of Greentown.
She was the widow of Alfred H. Durchlaub, who died in 1979.
Born in Czechoslovakia, she was a daughter of the late Michael and Louisa Siman.
She and her husband had operated a Delicatessen in the Bronx, N.Y., prior to moving to Greentown in 1949.
Anna was a member of St. Rita's Parish, Gouldsboro.
She is survived by nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 9:30 a.m. Friday at St. Anthony of Padua Church, Newfoundland, Pa.
There will be no visitation.

Diane C. Cramer, 50, of Price Twp., died on Tuesday in the University of Penn Medical Center, Philadelphia. She was the wife of Donald Cramer.
Born in Topeka, Kan., she was a daughter of Mignon (Trenner) Cole of Iselin, N.J., and the late Albert A. Cole, M.D. She was a resident of Monroe County for the past 15 years.
She worked as a mental health treatment specialist for the Colonial Northampton Intermediate Unit 20 at Pleasant Valley School District for the past 5 years. She also had a private practice as a licensed social worker for the past 11 years. She also worked for Wordsworth Treatment Facility in Shawnee-on-Delaware as a treatment specialist for several years.
She graduated from Boston University with a B.A. in social work and subsequently received a masters in social work from Marywood University in Scranton.
In addition to her husband and mother , she is survived by 2 sons , Christopher T. Manetta and Joshua R. Cramer and 2 daughters , Alexandra Brown and Rebecca Cramer, all of East Stroudsburg; a brother, Robert W. Cole of Oklahoma City, Okla., and a niece and 2 nephews.
Memorial Funeral Services will be held on Friday at 11 a.m. in the Lanterman & Allen Funeral Home, 27 Washington Street, East Stroudsburg.
A memorial visitation will take place on Friday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service in Lanterman & Allen.
Cremation will take place in Arlington Crematory, White hall.

Emiley F. Barr, 74, of Stroudsburg, died on Friday evening, August 28, at the Stroud Manor in East Stroudsburg. She was the wife of the late Richard K. Barr, who died in 1994.
She was born in Wilkes-Barre, Pa.; a daughter of the late John P. and Mary (Tomko) Deladvitch. She has been a resident of Monroe County for the past 17 years and prior to that of Port Washington , New York.
She is survived by three sons , John P. Barr, husband of Chris Barr of Oyster Bay, Long Island, N.Y.' Dennis W. Barr, husband of Debby Barr of Baytown, Tex.; Allan R. Barr of Galveston, Tex.; three sisters , Rita Napolitano of Woodbridge, N.J.; MaryAnn Stancanpano of Buffalo, N.Y.; Edna Balent of Johnstown, Pa.; two brothers , Leonard Deladvitch of Carteret, N.J.; Raymond Deladvitch of Clark, N.J.; seven grandchildren, four great grandson, many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday evening, September 1, at 8 p.m. in the Lanterman & Allen Funeral Home, 27 Washington Street, East Stroudsburg with the Rev. Robert Shrom officiating.
Cremation will take place in the Arlington Crematory, White hall, Pa. Interment will be at a later date in the Prospect Cemetery, East Stroudsburg. Relatives and friends may pay their respects on Tuesday evening from 7-8 p.m. at Lanterman & Allen.

James D. Griffith Sr.
August 30, 1998
James D. Griffith Sr., 57, of Mountainhome, died Sunday, August 30 at home. He was born in Bergholz, Ohio, the son of Eva (Cramer) Griffith and the late William Griffith.
He lived and worked most of his life in the Pocono area, and was a truck driver for Pocono Mountain Construction Company. He was a member of the American Legion Post #922, Spruce Cabin Road in Canadensis.
In addition to his mother , he is survived by a son, James D. Griffith Jr., of Mountainhome, and a daughter, Diana L. Siptroth of Mountainhome; two grandchildren, Benjamin Siptroth and Gloriana Griffith, also of Mountainhome. He is also survived by two brothers and seven sisters and was preceded in death by a brother, Ricky Griffith of Ohio.
Cremation services were provided by Bolock Funeral Home. A memorial service will take place at 8 p.m. Wednesday, at the Bolock Funeral Home, Corner of routes 940 and 390, Paradise Valley. Friends may call from 7 p.m. until time of service at the funeral home.

Lewis C. VanWhy, 71, of Middle Smithfield Township, died on Monday, August 31, 1998, in Brookmont Health Care Center, Chestnuthill Township.
Born in East Stroudsburg, a son of the late Samuel and Ellen (Ladlee) VanWhy. He was a life long resident of Monroe County.
He was employed as a heavy equipment operator for G.H. Litts & C.H. VanWhy in Marshalls Creek for many years retiring in 1990. He was a member of the George N. Kemp American Legion Post #346 in East Stroudsburg.
He is survived by four daughters , Evelyn VanBuskirk of Shickshinny, Linda Wall of Marshalls Creek, Sarah Sims of Saylorsburg, and Ellen Snook of Bushkill; two sons , Lewis VanWhy of Saylorsburg, and Dean Haag of East Stroudsburg; a sister, Cecilia Martz of Bushkill; 14 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and 5 great-great-grandchildren.
Memorial Funeral services will be held on Monday, September 7, 1998 at 11:30 a.m. in the Lanterman & Allen Funeral Home, 27 Washington Street, East Stroudsburg with Rev. Robert Shrom officiating. There will be no viewing.
Cremation will take place in the H.G. Smith Crematory, Stroudsburg. Private committal of cremains will take place in Sand Hill Cemetery, Shoemakers.

Frank L. Reilly, 35, of Montclair, N.J., died on Monday, August 31, 1998 in his home. He was a student at Montclair University majoring in Broadcasting.
Born in Newark, N.J., the son of Bettyanne (Reilly) Osorio of East Stroudsburg and the late Frank Reilly.
He was employed by Dumont TV Station in Dumont, N.J., as a cameraman.
In addition to his mother , he is survived by a sister, Dawn Beaulieu of East Stroudsburg; a grandmother, Julia C. Jack of East Stroudsburg; and a step- Father , Joseph Osorio of Livingston, N.J.

M. Kenneth Heckman Sr.
August 19, 1998
M. Kenneth Heckman Sr., died on August 19, 1998, at Simpson House in Philadelphia. He was born on September 20, 1903, in Mount Pocono. The son of Lewis C. and Elizabeth (Warner) Heckman, he grew up in Swiftwater and then resided in the Stroudsburg and Baltimore areas. Upon his retirement in 1968 he returned to Swiftwater where he resided in his childhood home until moving to Simpson House in 1990.
A 1920 graduate of Stroudsburg High School, he worked most of his lifetime as a master carpenter and a construction engineer. In 1988 he was recognized as a lifetime member of the United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners of America after fifty years of active membership.
He is survived by his wife, Ruby J. Heckman, who also resides at Simpson House. He was the Father of two children. His daughter, Joanne H. Blyler of Duluth, Minn., is the former director of the Geisinger Medical Center School of Nursing in Danville. She recently retired as a Professor of Nursing at Saint Scholastica College in Duluth, Minn. She also served for six years as a volunteer for missions in Bangladesh under the auspice of the Episcopal Church. His son, M. Kenneth Heckman Jr. of Wynnewood, is a United Methodist minister and a graduate social worker who is serving as President and Chief Executive Officer of Methodist Home for Children/BASES in Philadelphia. BASES services include Genesis of Tamaqua and Genesis of the Slate Belt.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a sister, Laurene (Mrs. Walter) Davis of Mount Pocono; five grandchildren, Sarah Jane Heckman Anderson of Newton, Mass., Elizabeth Heckman Dermond of Wynnewood, M. Kenneth Heckman III of Weymouth, Mass., Noel Blyler of Richmond, Va., and Justine Blyler Sharp of Pine City, Minn.; six great-grandchildren; and a nephew, Lewis R. Davis of Swiftwater.
He is also survived by two step- daughters , Retha (Mrs. Theodore) Koval of Connellsville, and Jean (Mrs. Robert) McCormick of Levittown; and numerous step-grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his first wife, Sarah Jane (Frank) Heckman, in 1957.
He was confirmed in Saint Paul's Reformed Church, now Saint Paul's United Church of Christ in Swiftwater. He was subsequently a member of Zion United Church of Christ in Stroudsburg and of the East Stroudsburg United Methodist Church before returning to Saint Paul's.
Memorial services will be held at Simpson House in Philadelphia on Friday, Sept. 4 at 2:30 p.m. There will be a memorial service at Saint Paul's United Church of Christ in Swiftwater on Saturday, Sept. 5 at 2:30 p.m., following the interment of his ashes in Laurelwood Cemetery in Stroudsburg.
