Doris M. Hoffner, 81, of RR 4 Saylorsburg, died Thursday in the Pocono Medical Center, East Stroudsburg.
She was the wife of the late Wilbur Hoffner.
Born in RR 4 Saylorsburg, she was a daughter of the late Samuel and Minnie (Gearhart) Kresge.
She was a member of Salem United Church of Christ in Gilbert.
She is survived by two sons , Lee Hoffner of RD 4 Saylorsburg and Ray Hoffner of RD 2 Saylorsburg; a daughter, Ann Haug of Brodheadsville; a sister, June Hoagland of RR 4 Saylorsburg; seven grandchildren and one great-grandson. She was preceded in death by a grandson, Erich.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday from the Kresge Funeral Home, Route 209 Brodheadsville, with the Rev. Michael Eckroth officiating. Burial will be in Buena Vista Cemetery, Brodheadsville. A viewing will be held on Tuesday from 7 to 8:30 p.m.

Caroline A. "Colleen" Welsh, 77, of Reeders, died Thursday while visiting in Jacksonville, FL. She was the wife of the late Edward C. Welsh, Sr.
Born on May 6, 1921 in Philadelphia, she was the daughter of the late D. and Carolina (Winters) Buggy and had lived in Reeders for the past forty-four years moving here from Philadelphia. She was a member of Our Lady of Victory Roman Catholic Church, Tannersville and its Altar and Rosary Society, the Jackson Township Fire Co. Ladies Auxiliary and the Tannersville Senior Citizens. She also had been a foster parent.
She is survived by two daughters , Caroline Simpson, wife of Ronald, of Henryville and Patricia Fitzhugh, wife of Thom, of Roanoke, VA; a son, Edward C. Welsh, Jr., husband of Debbie, of Easton; fifteen grandchildren, ten great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters .
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday at 11:30 a.m. in Our Lady of Victory Roman Catholic Church, Tannersville with Father Henry E. Zapotocki as celebrant. Burial will follow in the Buena Vista Cemetery, Brodheadsville.
There will be a viewing on Tuesday from 9-11 a.m. at the William H. Clark Funeral Home, .

John "Jack" O'Donnell

John "Jack" O'Donnell, 75, a retired businessman of Vero Beach, Fla, died suddenly on Saturday, June 20, 1998. He was a former resident of Lake Naomi in Pocono Pines.
He was born in South Philadelphia and graduated from Roman Catholic High School in 1940.
After serving in World War II as a decorated sergeant in the 8th armored division, he returned to work in Philadelphia until his retirement in 1990.
Mr. O'Donnell was involved in many organizations in the Philadelphia are including: the Bustleton Boys' Club; The Knights of Columbus as a Fourth Degree Knight; the Roman Catholic High School Alumni; Maternity B.V.M. Church Home & School Association; the Lions Club; and the Associated Builders & Contractors of Philadelphia.
Surviving are his wife of 51 years, Mary Lynch O'Donnell; two sons , John Jr. of Doylestown and Patrick of Florida; and a daughter, Mary Mayberry of Yardley. He is also survived by one brother, Joseph of Chicago; eight grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends may call on Wednesday, June 24 from 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. at Our Lady of the Lake Church in Pocono Pines. A Mass of Christian Burial will be immediately following the viewing at 11:30 a.m. Mass will be concelebrated by Father Thomas Maloney and Monsignor Philip Cribben.
Interment will be at Resurrection of Our Lord Cemetery in Bensalem.

Joan M. Mullen (Nee Lithgow), 70, of Effort, died Sunday, June 21, at Pocono Medical Center in Stroudsburg after a short illness. She was the beloved wife of Kenneth H. Mullen.
She was born in Kearny, N.Y. She was employed by New Jersey Bell of Newark, Ledgewood, and Cedar Knolls, N.J., where she retired five years ago.
She was a member of Our Lady Queen of Peace in Brodheadsville; former member of St. Cecilia Church in Rockaway, N.J.; a member of Young at Heart Senior Citizens; Fairview Senior Citizens Club; and Rockaway Women's Bowling League for 36 years.
In addition to her husband she is also survived by two sons , Dennis M. Mullen of Rochester, N.Y., and Kenneth M. Mullen of Byram Township, N.J.; two daughters , Mary Ann Prentice of Hardyston, N.J., and Elizabeth A. Otey of Denville, N.J.; four grandsons; 4 granddaughters; three brothers : Edward Lithgow of Hernando, Fla., Jerry Lithgow of Edison, N.J., and James Lithgow of Oakhurst, N.J.; a sister, Ann Ustas of Orange, N.J.; and several nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by a brother, Jack Lithgow.
Friends will be received Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and Thursday, from 9 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. when a Mass will be held at St. Cecilia Church in Rockaway, N.J. Interment will be in St. Cecilia Cemetery in Rockaway, N.J.

Joseph P. Stashluk, 51, of Stroud Manor, East Stroudsburg, formerly Summit Hill, died Saturday, June 20, 1998, at Pocono Medical Center, East Stroudsburg.
Born in Coaldale, PA, January 22, 1947, he was the son of Joseph S. and Margaret Sommers Stashluk of Kunkletown.
He worked in the construction of manufactured homes, in Hometown, PA.
He served during the Viet Nam War, in the United States Army.
He was a member of the American Legion in Summit Hill, and the Italian Club, also in Summit Hill.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by a daughter, Amy of Summit Hill; two sons , Joseph S. of Myrtle Beach, SC, and Clayton of Summit Hill; two sisters , Catherine Hogrelius of Kunkletown, and Patricia A. Piana, of Howell, NJ; a brother, Edward J. of Lehighton, and three grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife Wenda Fisher Stashluk, and a son, John B.
Graveside services will be held Thursday, June 25, 1998, at 10 a.m. at the Gilbert Cemetery, Gilbert, PA. There will be a visitation Wednesday evening from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Donald N. Gower Funeral Home, Inc., Route 209, Gilbert, PA.

Robert W. Terry, 81, of Buck Hill Falls, formerly of Williston Park, L.I., died Monday at home. Born in Ridgewood, Queens, he was the son of the late Robert and Agnes (Brown) Terry. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Grace (Bidwell) Terry at home.
He has been a resident of Buck Hill Falls for the past eight years. Before retiring, he was employed as an Installation Foreman for the New York Telephone Co. on Long Island for 44 years.
An Army veteran, serving in Germany during World War II, he was a member of the 76th Infantry Division, and was awarded the Silver Star.
He was a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America and the 76th Infantry Division Association.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Joseph Munson of Buck Hill Falls; four grandchildren, Jennifer Munson of Port St. Lucy, Fla., Terry Munson of Buck Hill Falls, Christine Price of Canadensis, and Cynthia Estep of Cresco.
A brother, Gordon Terry, of New Hyde Park, L.I., preceded him in death.
There will be a funeral service on Wednesday at 8 p.m. at the Bolock Funeral Home, Corner of Rts. 940 and 390, Paradise Valley. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Interment will take place 11 a.m. Thursday at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery.

Allen Forrest Fabel, 49, Leominister, Mass., died Thursday in the Veteran's Administration Hospital in Boston, Mass. He was the husband of Judy (Derome) Fabel, at home.
Born in Stroudsburg, he was the son of the late Forrest and Irene Betty (Hoffman) Fabel.
He retired after 20 years of service with the U.S. Army. He also served 3 years with the U.S. Marines.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Jason Fabel of Massachusetts; two step children, Lisa Derome and Charles Derome, both of Massachusetts; three sisters : Joy Todd of Colorado; Susan Anderson of Florida; and Pamela Horn of Northampton; a half sister, Sharon Thomas of Florida; and several nieces and nephews.
Cremation will take place at the convenience of the family.
Funeral services will be announced at a later date.

Michael D. Saganich, 84, of Mount Pocono, died Sunday, June 21 in Pocono Medical Center after an illness. His wife is the former Susan Ruffini.
Born in Flint, Michigan, he was the son of the late Daniel and Anna (Glad) Saganich. Prior to his retirement in 1970, he was a mushroom farmer.
In addition to his wife, Susan, he is survived by two sons : Michael of Tucson, Ariz., and David of Conestoga; a brother, William of Lincoln University; two sisters , Betty Sterlacci and Ann Kucich, both of Long Island, N.Y.
Friends may call on Wednesday evening, June 24 from 7 to 9 p.m. at the James M. Hook & Co, Funeral Directors, .
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday, June 25 at 10 a.m. at St. Mary of the Mount RCC, Mount Pocono with monsignor Arthur J. Kaschenbach presiding.

Seward Franklin Hawk, 86, of RR 2 Saylorsburg, died Monday in the Pocono Medical Center, East Stroudsburg.
He was the husband of Mildred (Kunkle) Hawk, at home. They had observed their 64th wedding anniversary last September.
Born in Effort, he was a son of the late Seward E. and Mary (Saxe) Hawk.
He had been a patrolman for the Pohoqualine Fish Association in McMichaels for 45 years before retiring.
He was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Effort.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Nadene Boyle, in Florida; a brother, James Hawk of RR 2 Saylorsburg; a sister, Ruth May of RR 2 Saylorsburg; and a grandson, Michael Kleintop of Tobyhanna.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday from the Kresge Funeral Home, Route 209, Brodheadsville. Burial will be in Buena Vista Cemetery, Brodheadsville. A viewing will be held on Thursday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service.
