Walter R. Hahn, 65, of Newton, N.J., died Thursday at his home following a brief illness. Born in Columbia, N.J., he resided in Newton all of his life.
The son of the late Frank and Laura Hahn, he was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving during the Korean Conflict. Mr. Hahn was an Auto Mechanic specializing in motor repair for the former Newton Chrysler for many years prior to his retirement.
He was a past member of the Newton Moose Lodge #432.
Mr. Hahn was predeceased by his wife, Bernice. He is survived by his daughters , Deborah C. DiDomenico of Marshalls Creek and Tammy RJ Hahn of Alexandria, Va.; his sister, Martha Hahn of Newton, N.J.; 5 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Saturday at 10 a.m. at the Iliff-Ruggiero Funeral Home, 156 Main Street (Rt. 206), Newton, N.J. Interment to follow in the Branchville Cemetery, Branchville, N.J. Visitation at the funeral home Friday from 7 to 9 p.m.

Clifford G. Yaeger, 70, of Indian Mt. Lakes, Albrightsville, died Wednesday in his home.
Born in Irvington, N.J., he was a son of the late Henry and Mildred (Scherer) Yaeger.
He had been a supervisor for Anheuser Busch in Newark, N.J., for 42 years retiring in 1993.
He was a member of the Pocono Church of Christ in Stroudsburg and the Town and Country Bowling League in Stroudsburg.
He is survived by his fiancee, Sheila S. Smith of Albrightsville, with whom he resided; a daughter, Karen Leski of Union, N.J.; a brother, Nelson Yaeger of Keansburg, N.J.; and a grandson, Joshua Michael Leski of Union, N.J.
Funeral Services will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday from the Pocono Church of Christ in Stroudsburg with the Rev. Tom Arnold officiating. Burial will be in the Buena Vista Cemetery, Brodheadsville. A viewing will be held on Friday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. from the Kresge Funeral Home, Route 209, Brodheadsville.

George Giacobbe, 72, formerly of Tobyhanna, died Monday at Chambersburg Medical Center. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary P. Giacobbe.
Born in Queens, N.Y., he was the son of Pasquale and Mary (Held) Giacobbe.
Before his retirement in 1991, he owned and operated an auto body shop in Queens, N.Y.
He was a member of St. Ann's Church in Tobyhanna and a Third Degree Knight with the Knights of Columbus.
He is survived by two daughters , Patricia Giacobbe and Marianne Hinrichs, both of Tannersville; two brothers , Robert Giacobbe of Ossining, N.Y. and John Giacobbe of Lindenhurst, N.Y.; two grandchildren, Katharine and Georgette Hinrichs of Tannersville; and several nieces and nephews..
In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by a brother, Joseph Giacobbe.
Father John Boyle will celebrate a Funeral Mass Friday at 10 a.m. at St. Ann's Church in Tobyhanna. Interment will follow at St. Catherine's Cemetery in Moscow.

Eileen C. Blasl, 68, of Effort, died Tuesday at home. She was the wife of Gerald F. Blasl. They had been married for 43 years.
Born in the Bronx, N.Y., she was the daughter of the late Frederick and Julia (Griffith) Ingham.
She had retired in 1990 as a Vice President of Purchasing for Savings Bank and Trust in New York City.
She was a member of Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Gilbert and past President of the Columbiettos of Aquinas Council Knights of Columbus in New York City.
Surviving in addition to her husband, is one son, Michael Blasl of New York; one daughter, Anna Marie Schramek of Brewster, N.Y.; two sisters , Patricia Camilli of Briarcliff Manor, N.Y. and Maureen Lago of Wannamassa, N.J.; and four grandchildren.
Funeral services will begin 11 a.m. Saturday, May 16, at the Donald N. Gower Funeral Home, Inc., Route 209, Gilbert, followed by the Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30 a.m. at Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Gilbert with Rev. Father William McCawley celebrant. Interment will follow at the Buena Vista Cemetery in Brodheadsville. Viewing is from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday and 10:30 to 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.

William M. Hendrick, 53, of Effort, died Tuesday at home. He owned and operated Bill's Towing in Effort for the past 15 years.
Mr. Hendrick was born in Philadelphia and is the son of the late Thomas and Evelyn (Stoner) Hendrick.
He was a former member of the Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Sharon Hill, Pa. He was a Navy Veteran of the Viet Nam War. He was also an avid plate collector.
He is survived by 5 sisters , Theresa Hatala of Philadelphia, Evelyn Clements of Columbus, Ohio, Elizabeth Elliott of Logan, Ohio, Barbara Hendrick of Effort, and Carol Yannone of Havertown; and 3 brothers , Leon Hendrick of Ridley Park, Pa., Thomas Hendrick of Essington, Pa., and Paul Hendrick of Newark, Del.
There will be a closed casket visitation 8:30 a.m. until 9:30 a.m. on Thursday at the Donald N. Gower Funeral Home, Inc., Route 209, Gilbert, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at Our Lady Queen of Peace Church, Gilbert with Rev. Father William McCawley celebrant. Interment will follow at 1 p.m. at the Holy Cross Cemetery in Upper Darby.

James Arnold Hamilton, 59, of Kunkletown, died Thursday at the Hepburn Medical Center in Ogdensburg, N.Y.
He was the husband of Audrey (Dunne) Hamilton. They had been married 33 years.
Born in Gary, Indiana he was the son of the late Henry Arnold and Frieda A. (Tibbits) Hamilton.
He was employed as a mechanic for Hayes Tank Center, Inc. in Bath for 2 years. Prior to that he had been a maintenance man for Paul's Run Retirement Home in Philadelphia for over 10 years.
He was of the Lutheran Faith.
In addition to his wife Audrey, he is survived by one daughter, Kimberly A. Padlow of Portage, Ind.; one son, Jeffrey A. Hamilton of Valparaiso, Ind.; one brother, Gilbert Hamilton of Chesterton, Ind.; four grandsons: Matthew Hamilton of Valparaiso, Ind., Gary Chavez, Ty Chavez and Thomas Kucson, all of Portage, Ind.; two granddaughters, Stephanie Hamilton of Valparaiso, Ind., and Jessica Kucson of Portage, Ind.
Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Tuesday, May 12 at the Donald N. Gower Funeral Home, Inc., with the Rev. Deborah Scheffey officiating. Truman O. Stewart, 88, formerly of East Stroudsburg, died on Thursday, May 7, 1998, at the Penn Yan Manor Nursing Home, Penn Yan, N.Y.
A graveside service will be held at Evergreen Hill Memorial Garden, East Stroudsburg at the convenience of the family.
Mr. Stewart was born on January 13, 1910 in Greenville, and was the son of William and Bertha Stewart. He was a member of the Local Pipe Fitters Union #524 in Wilkes-Barre, and worked in Saudi Arabia and Libya for over 20 years. Mr. Stewart was a member of the 1st Baptist Church in East Stroudsburg.
Truman O. Stewart is survived by his son, Philip Stewart of Liverpool, N.Y.; a daughter, Jan Stewart of New Holland; and a daughter-in-law, Helen Stewart of Penn Yan, N.Y.; grandchildren, Craig Stewart of Bloomington, Ind.; Jodie Riesbeck of Binghamton, N.Y.; Pamela Hoadley of Dover; and Kirk Lawhead of Utah. Also, 5 great-grandchildren. Mr. Stewart was pre-deceased by his wife, Alice L. Stewart in 1982.

Alan H. Penberthy, 72, of Albrightsville, died Thursday at St. Luke's Hospital in Fountain Hill.
He was the husband of Alberta C. "Skippy" (Hayes) Penberthy. They had been married 50 years.
Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., he was the son of the late Harry and Viola (Ressigue) Penberthy.
He had worked in the Circulation Department of USA Today in New York City retiring in 1991. Prior to working for USA Today he had worked for the New York Daily News and the Long Island Press and Suffolk Sun. He was a member of the MiddleCreek Christian Church in Kresgeville where he was also an Elder and Trustee.
He was an Eagle Scout and Boy Scout Leader for many years in Brooklyn, N.Y. He was a member of the Pennsylvania Land Sea Transport Association. He was a member of the Babylon Lodge #793 F & AM in Babylon, N.Y., The Laurel Lodge #467 in White Haven, Pa. He was also a member of the Pyramid Chapter #594 Order of the Eastern Star in Babylon, N.Y.; Lehigh Chapter #193 Order of the Eastern Star in White Haven, Pa.; the Penataquit Chapter #309 Royal Arch Masons in Bay Shore, N.Y.; Patchogue Commandery Knights Templer #64 in Patchogue, N.Y.; Shrine Kismet Temple A A O N M S of New Hyde Park, N.Y.; and the treasurer of the Penn Kidder Senior Citizens Club in Albrightsville. He was a Decorated World War II Navy Veteran having served in the Pacific Theater.
In addition to his wife, Alberta C. (Skippy), he is survived by two daughters , Allicyn wife of Hubert Finneran of North Port, N.Y.; Kyle wife of Yvon LeRoy of Port Jervis, N.Y.; one sister, Constance Harmon of Enfield, Conn.; and 3 grandchildren.
Funeral Services will begin at 12:00 noon Saturday at the MiddleCreek Christian Church in Kresgeville with the Rev. Frank Robatin and Rev. Dick Hughen officiating. There will be Masonic services at MiddleCreek Christian Church. Interment will be in the MiddleCreek Cemetery, Kresgeville. Viewing will be held from 11 a.m. Saturday until the time of the services at the church.

Ruth G. Clifton, 88, of Stroudsburg, died on Wednesday, May 6, at the Pleasant Valley Manor in Hamilton Township. She was the wife of the late John F. Clifton Sr.
She was born in Stroudsburg, a daughter of the late John and Priscilla (Gower) Smoke. She had been a life long resident of Monroe County.
She is survived by a son, John F. Clifton Jr. of Bangor; a brother, Richard Smoke of East Stroudsburg; 8 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday evening May 12, at 8 p.m. in the Lanterman & Allen Funeral Home, 27 Washington Street, East Stroudsburg with Pastor Jack Rice officiating.
Relatives and friends may pay their respects on Tuesday evening from 7 to 8 p.m. at Lanterman & Allen.
Cremation will take place in the Arlington Crematory, White hall. Burial will be on Saturday, May 16, at 10 a.m. in the Prospect Cemetery, East Stroudsburg.
