Myron Ehrlich

Myron Ehrlich, 77, of East Stroudsburg, died on Monday at the Pocono Medical Center in East Stroudsburg. He was the husband of Devorah (Kantrowitz) Ehrlich, at home. They had celebrated 50 years of marriage on November 16, 1997.
He was born in Middletown, N.Y., a son of the late Harry and Celia (Kleinberg) Ehrlich. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army Air Corps, having served during World War II as a lieutenant. He was a graduate of Moravian College in Bethlehem in 1940 and attended Penn State University as a graduate assistant.
Prior to his retirement in 1989, he co-owned and operated Ehrlich's Market with Charles Merring in East Stroudsburg since 1947. Prior to that he was a chemist for the Institute of Paper Chemistry in Appleton, Wisconsin, and prior to that he was a graduate assistant at Penn State.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Judith A. Ehrlich of Bethlehem; a son, Michael L. Ehrlich of Fairfax, Va.; a granddaughter, Rebekah Ehrlich of East Stroudsburg; a sister, Ruth Priever of Queens, N.Y.; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a son, Daniel H. Ehrlich.
A Memorial Service will be held on Friday at 7 p.m. in the Lanterman & Allen Funeral Home, 27 Washington Street, East Stroudsburg.Relatives and friends may pay their respects on Friday evening from 6 to 7 p.m. at Lanterman & Allen. Cremation will take place in the Arlington Crematory, White hall, Pa.
At the request of the family, in lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Charity of one's choice.

Ralph P. Swedberg

Ralph P. Swedberg, 73, of East Stroudsburg, died Monday, May 4, in his home.
Born in Sturbridge Mass., he was the son of the late Henry and Florence (Frienis) Swedberg. He was a resident of Monroe County for the past 6 years. Prior to that he resided in Orange County, California.
He was a U.S. Army Veteran having served during the Korean Conflict. He was a member of the Loyal Order of the Moose of East Stroudsburg, the American Legion of East Stroudsburg, and the Fraternal Order of the Eagles.
He is survived by two sons , Rick Swedberg and David Swedberg, both of North Carolina; a sister, Mildred Kasper of East Stroudsburg; and two grandchildren.
A viewing will be held on Monday, May 11, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Lanterman & Allen Funeral Home, 27 Washington Street, East Stroudsburg.
Services and interment will be private at the convenience of the family.

Harry Rider

Harry Rider, 92, of Cresco died on Thursday, May 7, 1998, in Pocono Medical Center, East Stroudsburg. He was the husband of Catharine (Hulitt) Rider at home. They would have been married 70 years on September 1, 1998.
Born in Baltimore, Md., a son of the late Harry and Almedia (Whalen) Rider. He was a resident of Monroe County since 1930.
He had been self-employed for nearly 60 years as a custom upholsterer at Pocono Manor, Skytop Lodge, Buck Hill Falls and Mt. Airy Lodge, retiring at age 82 in 1988. He and his wife were active participants of the Canadensis United Methodist Church, Canadensis.
Of special note was his selection to create draperies for the East Wing of the White House in Washington , D.C. during the Truman Presidency. During World War II, he worked the night shift at a defense plant making shell casings.
Among his many civic contributions were: member of the Delaware-Water-Gap School Board and volunteer Fireman; member of the Barrett Township School Board; member of Patriotic Order sons of America; member of MHMR Advisory Board; member of PA Association of Retarded Citizens; member of White Haven State School Board of Trustees; member of the Pocono Mountain School Board; original member of the Burnley Workshop Board; Paradise Township Committeeman and School Board member; and election as District Delegate to the 1966 National Democratic Presidential Convention.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons , Harry Jr. of Tobyhanna and James of Sterling; three daughters : Kathleen Buckley of Sterling; M. Effie Vranka of Boulder, Colo.; and Bonnie Rine of East Stroudsburg; 19 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two daughters , Dixie and Carletta.
There will be a viewing on Saturday, May 9 from 4 to 8 p.m. in the Lanterman & Allen Funeral Home.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, May 9 at 8 p.m. in the Lanterman & Allen Funeral Home, 27 Washington Street, East Stroudsburg with Pastor Paul Stevenson officiating.
He will be laid to rest in Delaware-Water-Gap Cemetery beside his two beloved daughters on Sunday, May 10 at 2 p.m.

William R. McNulty, 58, of Stroudsburg, died Wednesday, in the Pocono Medical Center.
Born on January 31, 1940 in Peckville, he was a son of the late Walter and Alice (Boston) McNulty.
He had been employed at the News and Variety Store on Main Street in Stroudsburg and also worked as a Maitre 'D for Buckhill Resort and at Skytop.
He was a member of the American Legion Post 922 in Stroudsburg.
He is survived by 2 daughters , Erin McNulty of Easton and Cathy McNulty of Bethlehem; 1 son, William McNulty II of Tobyhanna; 1 sister, Alice Coleman of Archbald; 2 brothers , Michael McNulty of Newark, N.J., and Francis McNulty of Archbald; 2 grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
A viewing will be held Sunday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Harrison Funeral Home, 374 Main Street, Archbald.
Funeral Services will begin on Monday at 8:30 a.m. from the funeral home followed by a Mass at 9 a.m. at St. Thomas Aquinas Church in Archbald. Burial will be in St. Thomas Aquinas Cemetery, Archbald.

Howard E. Roehrig Sr.

Howard E. Roehrig Sr., 86, of East Stroudsburg died Thursday, May 7 at his home. He was the husband of Frieda (Kessling) Roehrig.
Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., he was the son of the late Leonard and Catherine (Ehmer) Roehrig. He was a resident of East Stroudsburg for the past 20 years and was employed as a Bank Manager.
In addition to his wife he is survived by a daughter in law, Margaret Roehrig of Stroudsburg; three granddaughters: Laura Roehrig and Dawn Roehrig, both of Stroudsburg and Denise Decker of Bartonsville; and two great grandchildren, Ashley and Floyd Roehrig.
He was preceded in death by a son, Howard E. Roehrig Jr. who died in 1986.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, May 11 at 11 a.m. from the Joseph J. Pula Funeral Home, with the Rev. Father Henry E. Zapotocki officiating. Entombment will be in the Mountainview Mausoleum in East Stroudsburg. Visitation will be on Sunday, May 10 from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Richard E. Singer, 58, of Tannersville, Pocono Township, died on February 3, 1996 in his home.
Born in East Stroudsburg, a son of the late Jeremiah E. and Alice (Crowe) Singer. He was a resident of Monroe County for most of his lifetime.
Prior to his retirement, he was employed by the PA Department of Transportation for 27 years. He was a member of the Thomas P. Lambert V.F.W. Post #2540 in Stroudsburg and a member of the Stroudsburg Moose Lodge.
He is survived by two sisters , Ruth Franchella of Stroudsburg and Helen Repsher of Easton; and several nieces and nephews.
Cremation took place in the H.G. Smith Crematory in Stroudsburg on February 9, 1996.
Memorial Funeral Services are being held on Friday, May 15, 1998 at 11 a.m. in the Lanterman & Allen Funeral Home, 27 Washington Street, East Stroudsburg.
Committal of Cremains will take place in the Prospect Cemetery, East Stroudsburg.

Margaret Joyce Mullen

Margaret Joyce Mullen, 57, of R.D. 1, Cresco, died Friday, April 3, in her home. She was the wife of Thomas B. Mullen, at home.
Born on January 5, 1941, in East Stroudsburg, she was a daughter of J. Reed and Margaret (Phillips) Siglin, of Cresco, and was a lifetime resident of Monroe County.
She was a clerk for the United States Postal Service for 24 years having worked at several post offices throughout Monroe County and was also a part-time employee of the London Fog store in the Crossings Outlets in Tannersville.
She was an active member of the Barrett Township Volunteer Ambulance Corps and also volunteered at the Pocono Medical Center in East Stroudsburg.
Surviving in addition to her husband and parents are a son, Jeffrey Reed Mullen of Cresco; a sister, Nancy Schildt of Kimberton; a niece, Kimberly Schildt; and two nephews, Scott Mullen and Peter Mullen.
Memorial services will be held on Saturday, May 16, 1998, at 11 a.m. at the Barrett Township Volunteer Fire Company, Route 191, Mountainhome, with the Rev. Thomas E. Richards, Jr., pastor of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Tannersville, officiating.

Johnny (Mell) Bradshaw, 40, of Scranton, died Monday, May 11 in Mercy Hospital in Scranton after a brief illness. He is survived by his companion, Donna Zaleski.
Born in South Carolina on May 4, 1958, he was the son of the late LeRoy and Sarah Snyder Bradshaw. He was educated in South Carolina and lived in the Stroudsburg area before moving to Scranton 9 years ago. He was employed by Custom Management of Dickson City as a maintenance supervisor and attended Saint Patrick's Roman Catholic Church, West Scranton.
He is survived by three daughters : Kyla Zaleski and Mia Zaleski, both of Scranton, and Dayshenna Bradshaw of Allentown; two son, John Bradshaw Jr. of Allentown and Shaun Zaleski of Scranton; six sisters : Mrs. Sarah Small of Stroudsburg; Mrs. Rosa Gamble of Kingstreet, S.C.; Mrs. Glinda Stukes of Summerton, S.C.; Mrs. Lynn Gamble and Mrs. Willie Mae Reid, both of Manning, S.C.; and Mrs. Pat China of Greedleyville, S.C.; and five brothers : Willie Lee Bradshaw and Louis Bradshaw, both of Manning, S.C.; LeRoy Bradshaw, Leon Bradshaw and Floyd Bradshaw, all of Stroudsburg; and nieces and nephews.
The Funeral will be Saturday at 9 a.m. from the Durkan-Cuff-Kearney Funeral Home, 125 N. Main Ave., West Scranton, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. in Saint Patrick's Roman Catholic Church, Jackson Street, West Scranton to be celebrated by Father Charles P. Connor, Assistant Pastor. Interment will be in Cathedral Cemetery. Friends may call Friday night, May 15 from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Sterling R. Wagner

Sterling R. Wagner, 93, Pocono Lake, died on Wednesday, April 29, 1998, at his home. He was the husband of the late Alice (Roberts) Wagner, who died in 1988.
Born in Pocono Lake, he was the son of the late George and Eva (Robacker) Wagner.
He graduated from Syracuse University in 1927. He received his Master's Degree from Syracuse in 1930 in Landscape Engineering. He was an instructor at Syracuse University and an assistant professor at New York State College in their forestry departments.
He was the manager of Wagner's Tree Farm in Pocono Lake from 1941-1947 and president of Wagner's Forest Products, Inc., from 1947 until the time of his death. He was the developer of Wagner's Forest Park.
He served on the advisory board of Franklin First Federal Savings and Loan Association in Stroudsburg from 1967-1987. He was the Chairman of the Tobyhanna Township Planning Commission from 1964-1986. He was a member of the Pocono Lake United Methodist Church, Monroe County Planning Commission, Pocono Forestry Association, PA Forestry Association, Society of American Foresters and the Lion Club. He was also a former school director for the Tobyhanna Township School District.
He is survived by a sister, Edna W. Shaffer, Luthercrest; a niece, Mary Kerrick, Pocono Lake; and a nephew, Atty. Dick W. Shaffer.
A Memorial Service will be held on Sunday, May 17, at 3 p.m. from the Pocono Lake United Methodist Church with the Rev. Blaik Westhoff officiating. Private burial will take place at the convenience of the family.

Robert J. Meagher, 66, of Murfreesboro, Tenn., formerly of Reeders, died Friday in the Middle Tennessee Medical Center, Murfreesboro, Tenn. He was the husband of Mary Alice (Berry) Meagher at home.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Marilyn (Hayden) Meagher.
Born in New Brunswick, N.J., he was the son of the late Edward and Helen (Morris) Meagher.
He was a resident of Tennessee since August of 1997 and prior to that he lived in the Reeders area for 19 years and his early years in the Berkeley Heights, N.J., area. He was a retired accountant.
He was a member of Our Lady of Victory Roman Catholic Church of Tannersville and was a Navy veteran of the Korean Conflict.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters , Karen Small of Lancaster and Sherri Roberg of Jacksonville, Fla.; two step children, a step daughter, Catherine Lowe of Nashville, Tenn. and a step son, Robert M. Lowe of Leeds, Ala.; two sisters , Helene Meagher of Drums and Doris Chasse of Chiccopee, Mass.; 5 grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. from Our Lady of Victory Roman Catholic Church in Tannersville with the Rev. Father Henry E. Zapotocki as celebrant. Burial will be in the Laurelwood Cemetery, Stroudsburg.
Visitation will be on Tuesday from 9 to 10 a.m. at the Joseph J. Pula Funeral Home.
