Richard Mann, of Mesa, Ariz., formerly of Stroudsburg (1958-1977), died recently.
He is survived by his wife, Joan Adelmann Mann; 4 sons , Richard, Robert, Kenneth and Ronald; and 8 grandchildren.
He was employed as a printer at the Pocono Record and Hughes Printing.
Burial will take place at Queen of Peace Cemetery at 11 a.m. on Monday, March 2.

Mildred R. Baader, 88, Vauxhall, N.J., died Wednesday at South Mountain Health Care Center in Vauxhall. She was the wife of the late Frank J. Baader.
Born in Stroudsburg, she was the daughter of the late Clayton G. and Nettie (Frantz) Rinker. She was of the Methodist faith.
She was a 1928 graduate of Stroudsburg High School.
She was a registered nurse, having worked for 35 years at the Beth Israel Hospital in Newark, N.J., before retiring in 1980.
She is survived by cousins.
Graveside funeral services will be held on Saturday at 1:30 p.m. in the Stroudsburg Cemetery, with the Rev. Thomas Anderman officiating.
There will be no viewing.
Memorial donations should be made to a charity of the donor's choice.

Joseph F. Murphy

Joseph F. Murphy of Dupont, formerly of East Stroudsburg, died Monday evening at Wilkes Barre General Hospital following an illness.
He was born in Pittston, the son of the late Martin and Genevieve Williams Murphy.
Prior to retirement he was a Sergeant for the Pa. State Police for 33 years, serving in Swiftwater, East Stroudsburg, Lords Valley, and the Wyoming Barracks.
He was a graduate of Pittston High School and the Pa. State Police Academy of Hershey. He was a member of St. Mary Help of Christian Church in Pittston; Holy Name Society; Fraternal Order of PA State Police; The Veterans of Foreign Wars; and John F. Kennedy 4th Degree Council Knights of Columbus #372. He was a veteran of World War II serving with the U.S. Marines at Guadacanel.
He was preceded in death by his wife, the former Catherine A. Curry and two step brothers , Thomas Murphy and Leo Murphy.
He is survived by two daughters , Carol Ann Murphy and Catherine Murphy at home; two sons , Joseph Murphy of Texas and Martin Murphy of Massachusetts; a sister, Alice Murphy of Pittston, six grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held today at 9 a.m. from the Paul F. Leonard Funeral Home, 575 N. Main Street in Pittston with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. in St. Mary Help of Christian Church in Pittston. Interment in Parish Cemetery in Pittston.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the American Heart Association.

Helen N. LaBar, 74, Stroudsburg, died on Thursday morning at Pleasant Valley Manor.
Born in Analomink, she was the daughter of the late Russell C. and Mary (Yaggie) LaBar. She was a lifelong resident of Monroe County.
She was employed for over 40 years by Hughes Printing in East Stroudsburg, before retiring in 1987.
She was a member of the East Stroudsburg United Methodist Church.
She is survived by a sister, Miriam Smith, East Stroudsburg; two brothers , Russell C. LaBar and Lester U. LaBar, both of East Stroudsburg; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Monday at 1 p.m. from the Thomas Funeral Home, 401 North Fifth Street, Stroudsburg, with the Rev. Raymond Poortstra officiating.
Burial will be in the Laurelwood Cemetery, Stroudsburg.
There will be a viewing on Sunday evening from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at the funeral home.

Warren L. Forrest Jr.

Warren L. Forrest, Jr., 28, of Mt. Vernon, N.Y., formerly of Kresgeville, died Friday, February 20, in the Lawrence Hospital, Bronx, New York.
He was the husband of Melaine M. (Thompson) Forrest, at home.
Born in Philadelphia, he was the son of Warren Forrest, Sr., of Ashville, N.C., and Myra (Thompson) Forrest of Tannersville. He had lived in the Kresgeville area from 1975 until 1994 when he moved to Mt. Vernon, N.Y. He was a graduate of the Pleasant Valley High School Class of 1987 and was a member of the Grace Baptist Church of Mt. Vernon, N.Y. He was employed as an Electrician with the New York City Transit Authority from 1994 to present.
In addition to his wife and parents, he is survived by a daughter, Monique M. Forrest, at home; two sisters , Carmen Minor of Tannersville and Lillian Forrest of Stroudsburg; a brother, Michael Thompson of Philadelphia; paternal grandmother, Dorothy Forrest of Philadelphia; maternal grandmother, Taylor Thompson of Dale, S.C.; and two nephews, Ishmall Hall of Tannersville and David Thompson of Sun Valley, Pa.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 28 at 1 p.m. from the Joseph J. Pula Funeral Home, , with the Rev. Rolland Thompson officiating. Burial will be in the Stroudsburg Cemetery.
Visitation will be on Saturday, Feb. 28, from 11 a.m. until the time of the services at the funeral home.

Blanche G. Budney, 88, a South Scranton resident, died Monday morning in the VNA Hospice Unit at CMC Hospital, Scranton. She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter E.
Born in Scranton, she was a daughter of the late Felix and Stella Cinoch Scep.
She was educated in Scranton schools and prior to retirement she was employed by Saquoit Silk Mills in Scranton.
She was a member of the Sacred Hearts of Jesus & Mary Church in South Scranton.
Surviving are 2 sons , Edward J., of Pocono Summit and Richard T., of Archibald; 1 daughter, Elaine Davis, of Scranton; 1 brother, John, of Moosic; 7 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by 1 daughter, Margaret (Peggy) Budney.
Funeral will be held on Thursday at 9:30 a.m. from the Nicholas Chomko Funeral Home, 1132 Prospect Avenue, Scranton with Mass at 10 a.m. at Sacred Hearts of Jesus & Mary Church, 1224 Prospect Avenue, Scranton.
Interment will take place at the Parish Cemetery, Minooka.

Michael F. Payne, 49, of Stroudsburg died Sunday evening in his home. He was the husband of JoAnn M. (Adamski) Payne with whom he had celebrated 28 years of marriage.
Born on January 22, 1949, in New York City, he was a son of the late Richard and Lynn (Prentiss) Payne and had lived in Stroudsburg for the past 13 years moving here from New York City.
He had worked as a letter carrier for the New York Post Office since 1976 and was a veteran of the United States Army having served during the Vietnam War receiving a bronze star.
He was a member of St. Luke's Roman Catholic Church, Stroudsburg, and the Vietnam Dog Handler's Association.
Surviving in addition to his wife, are two daughters , Debra Possinger, of Wind Gap and Jennifer Payne, at home; a granddaughter, Abigail Possinger; and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be held at 9:30 a.m. in the William H. Clark Funeral Home, with Father Thomas McLaughlin officiating. Burial will follow in Laurelwood Cemetery, Stroudsburg.
There will be a viewing on Wednesday evening from 7 to 8:30 p.m. and on Thursday morning from 8:30 a.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home.

Bruno Benks, 93, of Coopersburg formerly of Stroudsburg died Sunday, February 22, 1998, in Valley Manor Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Coopersburg. He was the husband of the late Vilma (Grandovski) Benks.
He was a tool and design engineer at the former Ronson in Stroudsburg before his retirement.
Born in Riga, Latvia he was the son of the late Edward and Berta (Hansen) Benks.
He was a member o the Latvian Lutheran Church of Bucks County and Vicinity.
He is survived by a nephew Ivars Benks of West Chester.
Memorial services will be held on Saturday at 3:30 p.m. at the Latvian Lutheran Church of Bucks County & Vicinity, 5th and Juniper Streets, Quakertown. There will be no calling hours.

Charles Jaeger, 74, of Effort, formerly of Roxbury Twp., New Jersey, died Monday at the Pocono Medical Center in East Stroudsburg.
He was the husband of Sophie Faye (Kennedy) Jaeger. They had been married 46 years.
Born in New York City, N.Y., he was the son of the late Charles Phillip and Jessie (Schwenterlee) Jaeger.
He had been a school teacher at the Roxbury Twp. School District in Ledgewood, N.J. for 35 years.
He was an Army World War II Veteran.
He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Stroudsburg.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by 2 sons , Clifford Jaeger of Glen Gardner, N.J. and Carl Jaeger of Effort; 1 daughter, Charlene wife of Thomas Preisel of New York, N.Y.; 1 brother, Robert Jaeger of Ocala, Fla.
There will be no service at this time. The Donald N. Gower Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Frederick Mario Librizzi, 55, of Stroudsburg, died on Monday, March 2, 1998, at his home. He was the husband of Paula (Gennaro) Librizzi, at home.
He was born in Passaic, N.J., a son of Orlando Librizzi of Johnstown, and the late Ruth (Kocsis) Librizzi. He had been a resident of Monroe County for the past 18 years and prior to that of New Jersey. He was of the Catholic faith.
He was a chef for Pocono Truck Plaza in Stroud Township for 3 years. He was also a chef for the former Cheri's Restaurant on Route 611 for 2 years.
In addition to his wife and Father he is survived by a daughter, Kim Grech of Redwood Shores, Calif; a son, Kenneth Librizzi of Philadelphia; a brother, Theodore Librizzi of Stroudsburg; a sister, Lydia Moore of Lake Hopatcon, N.J.; two grandchildren, Zachary Grech and Savannah Grech.
A Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, March 5, at 11:30 at St. Matthew's Catholic Church in East Stroudsburg with the Rev. Thomas Sokolowski as the celebrant.
There will be no viewing. Cremation will take place in the Arlington Crematory, White hall.
