Nellie E. Dailey, 82, of Stroudsburg, died Tuesday in the Pocono Medical Center, East Stroudsburg. She was the wife of the late Chauncey O. Dailey, Sr.
Born on February 10, 1916, in Pittsburgh, she was the daughter of the late Alvin S., Sr., and Nellie (Ross) Reichel and had lived in the area since 1932. She had worked as a clerk for J.J. Newberry in Stroudsburg in her early years and then for Courtland Novelty as a sewer.
She was a graduate of East Stroudsburg High School.
She is survived by four sons , Chauncey Dailey, Jr., of Saylorsburg, Douglas Dailey of Stroudsburg, Terry Dailey of Puerto Rico and David Dailey of Palmerton; a daughter, Sharon Sigafuss of Alexandra, Ala.; a brother, Alvin Reichel, Jr., of Ellenton, Fla.; twenty-four grandchildren; eighteen great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 11 a.m. at the William H. Clark Funeral Home, 1003 Main Street, Stroudsburg, with Rev. Phyllis Hammel officiating. Burial will follow in the Prospect Cemetery, East Stroudsburg.
There will be a viewing on Saturday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home.

Glenmore B. Hayes

Glenmore B. "Sprux" Hayes, 82, of Blakeslee, died Monday at home. His wife is the former Alberta Wildrick.
Born in Pocono Lake, he is the son of the late Rolland and Florence (Gailey) Hayes.
He served in the United States Army in World War II where he participated in the Normandy invasion and was awarded the Purple Heart and Bronze Star.
He was an active member of the Laurel Lodge #467, F&AM, White Haven and was past post commander of the American Legion, Wilson/Fischer Post #413, Pocono Pines. He retired in 1973 as the Postmaster in the Blakeslee Post Office.
During his lifetime, he was a lifelong member of the Tobyhanna Township Volunteer Fire Company, a Tobyhanna Township Supervisor, and was a former school director for the Tobyhanna Township School District. He was a past president of Top-O-Pocono Rotary and a current board member of Dream Mile Sportsman Club, Blakeslee.
"Sprux" was also very active, as well as one of the first managers, with the baseball little league in the Pocono Area.
He was a current member of the Blakeslee United Methodist Church.
In addition to his wife, Alberta, he is survived by two sons , Glenmore of Idaho and William of Blakeslee. Also surviving is a brother, John, and a sister, Helen Robertson, both of Bethlehem; six grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceeded in death by a sister, Mildred Comunal.
Friends may call on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the James M. Hook & Co., Funeral Directors, 35 Sterling Road, Mt. Pocono.
Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, 1 p.m., at the funeral home, with Pastor Burgess Gordon presiding.
Interment will immediately follow at Pocono Lake Cemetery, Pocono Lake.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to the American Legion, Wilson/Fischer Post #413, Pocono Pines.

Irene May-Brojer, 61, of East Stroudsburg, died Monday afternoon in the Pocono Medical Center, East Stroudsburg. She was the wife of Richard Brojer, at home.
Born on February 11, 1937 in Brooklyn, N.Y., she was a daughter of the late Charles and Mildred (Campbell) May and had lived in the area since 1975 moving here from Long Island, N.Y. She had worked as a cashier in the restaurant of Truck Stops of America in Columbia, N.J.
Surviving in addition to her husband are: five daughters , Debbie Hoffman of Rosebloom, N.Y., Patricia Dougherty of East Stroudsburg, Lorraine Ianuale of Tobyhanna, Catherine Wernett of Jim Thorpe and Donna Brojer of Mt. Bethel; a son, Richard C. Brojer of Mountainhome; a brother, Michael May of Homestead, Fla.; a sister, Cecilia Johnson, of Richmond Hill, N.Y.; seventeen grandchildren; two great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 10:30 a.m. from the William H. Clark Funeral Home, 1003 Main Street, Stroudsburg, with the Rev. John Bergamo, pastor of St. Matthew's Roman Catholic Church, East Stroudsburg, officiating. Burial will follow in the Stroudsburg Cemetery.
There will be a viewing on Thursday morning from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the services at the funeral home.

Arlene F. Ashe

Arlene F. Ashe of RR 8, East Stroudsburg, passed away at the Pocono Medical Center on Sunday morning. She had resided in Monroe County since 1995. Her husband was Charles F. Ashe, who passed away in 1995.
Born in Boston, Mass., she was the daughter of the late George and Genevieve McManus Carroll. She was a graduate of Newton High School and was a 1941 graduate of Radcliff College. She had been employed as a legal secretary in Boston, Mass., and also worked as a substitute teacher in the public schools of Medway, Mass.
She was a member of St. Joseph's Church in Medway and also a member of the Radcliff College Alumni Association.
She is survived by one son, Douglas Fulton Ashe of East Stroudsburg with whom she resided and one sister, Evelyn Carroll of Newton, Mass.
Funeral services will be conducted Saturday at 10 a.m. from the Crowley Funeral Home, 3 Barber Street, Medway, Mass. Interment at St. Joseph Cemetery, Medway, Mass.
Friends may call Friday, 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at Crowley Funeral Home, Medway, Mass.

Myrtle Florence Widdoss, 81 of Scotrun, died on Saturday at her home.
Born in Scotrun, she was the daughter of the late Stephen and Florence (Arnold) Widdoss.
She is survived by her nephew, Richard Michael Widdoss and her niece, Patricia Widdoss Bonser, both of Scotrun. Also surviving her are her great nieces, Karla Anderson of California, Mona Haschak of Scotrun, Abbie Marki of Delaware Water Gap, Lisa Hennings of Tobyhanna and Erica Widdoss of Scotrun; and several great-great nieces and nephews.
Friends may call on Tuesday from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at James M. Hook and Co., Funeral Directors, 35 Sterling Road, Mount Pocono. Funeral services follow on Tuesday at 1 p.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. Harry Laubach presiding. Interment will immediately follow at Tannersville Union Cemetery, Tannersville.

Paul H. Christman, 62 of Lehighton, died on Saturday in Gnaden Heutten Hospital in Lehighton.
Born on May 25, 1935 in Monroe County, he was the son of the late Floyd and Eva (Jones) Christman.
He was worked heavy machinery for JJR Enterprises in Lehighton. He was of the Jehovah's Witness faith and a member of the Pen Argyl Legion and Shuffle Alley.
He is survived by his wife, Sueann (Manini) Christman at home; three brothers , Chester of Lehighton, Floyd of Saylorsburg and Larry of Packerton, Pa.; three sisters , Mae Kline of Gilbert, Fern Scitney of Lehighton and Joyce Christman of Kunkletown; three sons , Troy of Virginia, Hope of Kunkletown, and Paul of Palmerton; five daughters , April of New Jersey, Amy of Germany, Jodie of Bangor and twins, Emily of Albrightsville and Sara of Bangor; and six grandchildren.
Calling hours will be Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Schmidt Home Inc., 202 West Street, Wind Gap. Services will be held on Thursday at 11 a.m. in the funeral home. Burial will be in Plainfield Cemetery.

Margaret Joyce Mullen

Margaret Joyce Mullen, 57, of Cresco R.R. 1, died early Friday morning, April 3, in her home. She was the wife of Thomas B. Mullen, at home.
Born on January 5, 1941, in East Stroudsburg, she was a daughter of J. Reed and Margaret (Phillips) Siglin, of Cresco, and was a lifetime resident of Monroe County.
She was a clerk for the United States Postal Service for 24 years having worked at several post offices throughout Monroe County and was also a part-time employee of the London Fog store in the Crossings outlets.
She was an active member of the Barrett Township Volunteer Ambulance Corp and also volunteered at the Pocono Medical Center in East Stroudsburg.
Surviving in addition to her husband and parents are a son Jeffrey Reed Mullen of Cresco; a sister, Nancy Schildt of Kimberton; a niece, Kimberly Schildt; and two nephews, Scott Mullen and Peter Mullen.
Private memorial services will be held at the convenience of the family at the William H. Clark Funeral Home, 1003 Main Street, Stroudsburg, with the Rev. Thomas E. Richards, Jr., pastor of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Tannersville, officiating.

Gilbert E. Arnt

Gilbert E. Arnt, 77, husband of Mary C. (Broome) of Pottstown, died Wednesday at home.
Born in East Stroudsburg, he was the son of the late Charles and Mary (Ace) Arnt.
He worked for 37 years for Prudential Insurance Company throughout Pennsylvania before retiring in 1981.
He was a member of St. James Lutheran Church, Pottstown. He was also a member of Woodlawn Masonic Lodge #525, Birmingham, Ala. and the American Legion George Amole Post #47, Pottstown.
He was a WWII Army Air Corp veteran and served in the European Theatre.
Surviving with his wife are two daughters , Carole V. Hope, East Hampton, Conn. and Vena K., wife of G. James Ackerman of Brodheadsville; a son, Kenneth E. Arnt, of Boyertown; a brother, Horace M. Arnt, of Mt. Wolfe; five grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Saturday from Catagnus Funeral Home, , with the Rev. Cynthia Kolb, Associate Pastor of St. James Lutheran Church, Pottstown, officiating. Burial will be in Prospect Cemetery, East Stroudsburg. There will be a viewing on Friday evening from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at the funeral home.

Leonard C. Stoll, 81, of Upper Mt. Bethel Twp., died March 31, 1998 in the Easton Hospital, Easton.
Mr. Stoll worked in the maintenance department for 33 years with the Delaware Bridge Commission, retiring in 1984.
Born June 15, 1916 in Pen Argyl, he was a son of the late Cyrus and Hazel Stoll.
Mr. Stoll resided in Upper Mt. Bethel Twp. since 1953 and is survived by his wife, the former Dorothy Zeruth, also one son, Cyrus of Alaska; five daughters , Linda Baker of Upper Mt. Bethel, Margaret Niemoczynski of Cherry Valley, Pa., Mary Dry of Upper Mt. Bethel Twp., Agnus Volpe of Stroudsburg, and Lisa Prator, of Slateford, Pa.; six grandchildren and one great grandchild. Mr. Stoll was predeceased by a brother Charles and three sisters , Arivella Gouger, Marion Lentz and Kathrin Miller.
Funeral services and burial will be private and at the convenience of the family under the direction of the Newbaker Funeral Home, Rt. 94, Blairstown, N.J.
