Donald A. Dailey, Sr., of Newton, N.J., died Monday at Morristown Memorial Hospital.
Born in Leeds, Iowa, Mr. Dailey lived in East Stroudsburg before moving to Newton in 1956.
A United States World War II Navy veteran, Mr. Dailey was a former lab technician for Ames Rubber in Hamburg, retiring in 1989 after 17 years of service. Mr. Dailey had previously been employed by Hercules Powder Company in Kenvil, N.J., for 20 years.
A member of Harmony Lodge #8 F&AM, Mr. Dailey is a member and Past Commander of Demolay Commandery No. 006 in Washington , N.J., a Past High Priest and member of Baldwin Chapter No. 17 of the Grand Chapter and Royal Arch Masons of the State of N.J., Past Master and life member of the N.J. Council of Thrice Illustrious Masters, a member of American Legion Post 1000, a member of Washington Council No. 7 of the Most Puissant Grand Council of Royal and Select Masters of the State of N.J. in Andover Twp., and a Past Patron of Melchoir Chapter 131, Order of the Eastern Star. Mr. Dailey was also a former Cub Master for Pack 85, a former Scout Master for Troop 86, a Neighbor Commissioner for the Morris-Sussex Boy Scout Council, and a member of the First United Methodist Church of Newton.
The son of the late Russell Dailey and Bertha Flick Dailey, Mr. Dailey is survived by his wife of 49 years, Carol A. Dailey; one son, Donald A. Dailey, Jr., of Huntington, N.Y.; one daughter, Laurel Piteo of Independence Twp.; two brothers , James Dailey of Florida and Leo Dailey of Stroudsburg; one sister, Betty Mae Smith of Stroudsburg; and two grandchildren, Derek and Caitlyn Dailey.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Smith-McCracken Funeral Home, 63 High Street, Newton, New Jersey.

William F. Karch, 84, of Bethlehem, formerly of Belfast, Pa., died Monday at Kirkland Village, Bethlehem, Pa. He was the husband of the late Muriel A. (Kern) Karch who died in 1985.
Born on April, 15, 1913 in East Lawn, Pa., he was a son of the late George A. and Mabel I. (Ernst) Karch.
He was a member of St. John's U.C.C. Church of Nazareth, Pa., where he had been a former Deacon and Elder and former Chairman of the Property Committee.
He was a Past President of the Nazareth Rotary and was a Paul Harris Fellow where he had 22 years of perfect attendance.
He is survived by 2 daughters , Lois E. wife of John "Jack" Gum of Nazareth and Christine L. wife of John J. Muscler of Nazareth; 2 sisters , Margaret wife of Charley Zaimes of Lackawaxen and Ms. Mary Chumas of Nazareth; 1 brother, Edward L. Karch of Nazareth; and 3 grandchildren.
Funeral service will be held on Thursday at noon at St. John's U.C.C. Church, Broad & Prospect Streets, Nazareth, with Rev. David H. DeRemer officiating. Burial will follow in Hope Cemetery, Lower Nazareth Twp.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at Bartholomew-Schisler Funeral Home, 211 E. Center Street, Nazareth, and on Thursday, from 11 a.m. to noon at St. John's U.C.C. Church.

Sarah D. Naugle

Sarah D. Naugle, 89, of Stroudsburg, died Tuesday in the Pocono Medical Center, East Stroudsburg. She was the widow of Glenn T. (Pete) Naugle who died in 1983.
Born in Gilbert, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Catherine (Gregory) Doleiden. She was a life long resident of the Stroudsburg area. In her early years, she worked at the Star Ribbon Mill of Stroudsburg and the Somers Silk Mill of East Stroudsburg. Later she worked for many years at the former Holland Thread Mill of Stroudsburg, retiring in 1974. She was a member of the Zion United Church of Christ.
She is survived by a brother, William G. Doleiden of Stroudsburg and several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 11 a.m. from the Joseph J. Pula Funeral Home, , with the Rev. Kevin Fruchtl officiating. Burial will be in the Evergreen Hills Memorial Garden Cemetery, East Stroudsburg.
Visitation will be on Thursday from 10 a.m. until the time of the services at the funeral home.

Frank H. Fisher, 75 of Gouldsboro, died early Wednesday morning in the Penn State Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center, Plains Township. He was the husband of Joan W. (Finn) Fisher with whom he had celebrated 52 years of marriage on March 2.
Born on March 23, 1923, in Altoona, he was a son of the late Franklin and Bertha (Witherow) Fisher and had lived in the Mt. Pocono and Gouldsboro area for many years.
He had worked as an automobile salesman in Trenton, N.J., where he owned his own agency, the Capital Rambler; and then worked as a real estate broker in Mt. Pocono where he had his office until retiring five years ago.
A veteran of the United States Navy having service during World War II, he had attended the Thornhurst United Methodist Church, was a private pilot and was very active in sports including basketball, tennis and golf.
Surviving in addition to his wife are two daughters , Wendy wife of Clinton Everenham of Mountainhome and Joan wife of Richard Chadwick of Oaha, Hawaii; a son, Richard S. Fisher of Stroudsburg; six grandchildren, Deanne Chadwick, Scott Chadwick, Greg Chadwick, Jennifer Fisher, Michelle Fisher, and Kimberly Everenham; and several nieces and nephews.
Memorial services will be held at 7 p.m., Friday, from the William H. Clark Funeral Home, 1003 Main Street, Stroudsburg, with the Rev. Timothy W. Ehrlich, pastor of the Thornhurst United Methodist Church officiating. Cremation will take place at the H.G. Smith Crematory, Stroudsburg.
There will be a visitation of Friday evening from 6:30 p.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home.

David Edwards Lindsley, 38, of Blairstown, N.J., died Wednesday in Kidder Township, Carbon County, Pa.
Born in Morristown, N.J., Mr. Lindsley grew up in Mendham, N.J., and has been a resident of Blairstown for twelve years. A 1977 graduate of Mendham High School, Mr. Lindsley attended Nassan College in Maine. Mr. Lindsley was a salesman for M.G.F. Computers in Kearny, N.J.
Mr. Lindsley was a volunteer for Blairstown Little League.
Mr. Lindsley is survived by his wife, CeCelia Skow Lindsley; two sons , Jonathan and David, Jr., both at home; his Father and mother , Herbert and Eileen Lindsley, of Stroudsburg; and one brother, Herbert Lindsley, Jr., of Sparta, New Jersey.
Funeral services, Saturday, 11 a.m., at the Newbaker Funeral Home, Interment , Cedar Ridge Cemetery. Visitation, Saturday, 10 to 11 a.m., at the funeral home.

Ernest R. Transue
April 17, 1998
Ernest R. Transue, 77 of Stroudsburg, died Friday at home. He was the husband of Nina (Hineline) Transue, at home.
Born on June 28, 1920 in Stroudsburg, he was the son of the late Harry and Carrie (Walton) Transue and had lived in Stroudsburg all of his life. He was chief engineer at the WVPO Radio Station in Stroudsburg for 36 years until 1985 where he also hosted the Country and Western Show.
A veteran of World War II, he served as a U.S. Army Engineer having fought in the Battle of the Bulge where he earned the "Purple Heart."
A 1937 graduate of Stroudsburg High School, he had been active in the 7th and 8th grade Varsity "S" Football for the last twenty years. He was a Past President of the Stroudsburg Little League for eight years and was still active until his death. He was the founder and was a 50 year member of "PARK" (Amateur Radio Club) in Stroudsburg; hosted the Bowling Show on WPVO for 20 years; was manager of the Stroudsburg High School Boys Basketball Team from 1935-1936 and was active with the Monroe County Civil Defense for over 20 years.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by four daughters , Carol Widmer of Stroudsburg, Doris R. Miller of Palm Beach, Fla., Dolores Maloney of Riverton, N.J., and Pat VanWhy of Lancaster; two sons , Harlan "Butch" Tucker of Dingmans Ferry and Fred Tucker of Brockport, N.Y.; twelve grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two brothers .
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 11 a.m. in the William H. Clark Funeral Home, 1003 Main Street, Stroudsburg. Burial will follow in the Sand Hill Cemetery, Shoemakers.
There will be a viewing on Monday from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at the funeral home.

Lorenzo Mann, 93, of Tobyhanna died Wednesday in the Millville Medical Center, Millville, Pa. He was the husband of Clara (Respass) Mann of Stroudsburg.
Born in Edenton, N.C., he was a son of the late William Henry Mann and Sara (Hardy) Mann.
He had lived in the Tobyhanna area for the past 8 years and prior to that he resided in the Queens, N.Y., area.
He was a retired U.S. Postal Clerk having been employed in the Brooklyn, N.Y., office for 28 years, retiring in 1972.
He was a WWII Army Private and was of the Protestant faith.
In addition to his wife he is survived by three grandchildren, Jason Corrington, Richard Millson and Zanada Millson. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Sandra Penny Mann Corrington.
Funeral Services will be held on Monday at 11 a.m. from the Joseph J. Pula Funeral Home, with the Rev. Bishop Roosevelt Himant officiating. Burial will be in the Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville, Pa.
Visitation will be on Monday from 10 a.m. until the time of the services at the funeral home.

Doris P. Sandberg

Doris P. Sandberg, 81, of Pocono Pines, died on Saturday at Pocono Medical Center. She was preceded in death by her husband, Arvid F. Sandberg in 1966.
Born in Glen Ridge, N.J., she was the daughter of the late John Prahst and Rose Zimmermann Prahst. She was a resident of Glen Ridge for more than 40 years, where she also graduated from Glen Ridge High School.
She resided in the Poconos for the past 10 years, where she was an active member of the Pocono Lake United Methodist Church and its women's association.
She is survived by a son, John Sandberg of West Hartford, Conn.; three daughters , Virginia Wilkins of Wickenburg, Az., Judith Yaneka of Pocono Pines and Joy Gorgas of Pittsgrove Twp., N.J.; a sister, Viola Johnson of Lake Hopatcong, N.J.; 13 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a brother, Rudolph Prahst of Glen Ridge, N.J.
There will be no viewing. Graveside services will be on Wednesday at noon at the Mount Hebron Cemetery, Montclair, N.J. Rev. Blaik Westhoff will conduct a memorial service on Saturday at 11 a.m. at the Pocono Lake United Methodist Church.

Josef Pelech, 76, Saylorsburg, died on Saturday morning at his home. He was the husband of Anneliese (Klutkowsky) Pelech, at home.
Born in Konuszki, Lemberg, Ukraine, he was the son of the late Wasil and Anna (Szwec) Pelech.
He had been a resident of Monroe County since 1984.
He was employed as a printer in plastic textiles for Stauffer in Passaic, N.J.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two brothers , Michael Pelech of Germany and Wasil Pelech of Ukraine.
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday at 6 p.m. from the Thomas Funeral Home, 401 North Fifth Street, Stroudsburg, with Al Schito officiating.

Richard "Red" Seawood

Richard "Red" Seawood, 57 of Effort, formerly of Easton, died on Saturday in his home. He was the husband of Judy Coffey Seawood, married 39 years on Saturday.
Born on July 1, 1940 in New York City, he was the son of the Evelyn Cosgrove Seawood of Hellertown and the late Lou Seawood. He was a letter carrier for the Easton Post Office for 25 years before retiring in 1992. Prior to that, he was an Easton firefighter for several years.
He was of the Catholic faith. He was a member of the Order of Fleas, Citizen Hose, Liberty Hose, Varsity E Club and Easton Postal Retirement Society all of Easton; the NALC (National Association of Letter Carriers) and a recipient of numerous Safe Driving Awards from the postal service. He graduated from the Easton High Class of 1958.
In addition to his mother , he is survived by three daughters , Debra L. Hartley of Tamaqua and Dawn M. Weider and Dana B. Seawood of Effort; three sons , Daniel J. of Effort, David M. of Stockertown and Darryl F. of Pen Argyl; a sister, Kathleen Collina of Bethlehem Twp.; 14 grandchildren and one great-granddaughter. He was preceded in death by a brother, Robert.
Calling hours will be 5 to 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday at the Ashton Funeral Home, 14th and Northampton Streets, Easton. Funeral will follow at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home. Interment will be private.
