Althea J. (Yenser) Schleicher
Althea J. (Yenser) Schleicher, age 85, formerly of 7942 Route 873, Slatington PA, died Sunday, March 18, 2001 in St. Luke's Hospital, Fountain Hill PA. She was the Widow of the late Gordon C. Schleicher.

Born October 18, 1915 in Slatington PA, she was the Daughter of the late William and Irene (Nissen) Yenser. She was a Floor Worker for Scotty's Fashions in Palmerton for 15 years before retiring in 1978. She was a Member of St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Slatington PA. She was a Former Republican Committee Women in Slatington's Third Ward for 20 years.

She is survived by her Son, Karl G. Schleicher of Orefield PA; daughters , Patricia D. Smith of Bath PA and Mary James of North Cape May NJ; brothers , Carl Yenser of Slatington PA and Earl Yenser of Slatington PA; sisters , Ara Cantwell of Slatington PA, Dena Pugh of Slatington PA, LaRue Yenser of Slatington PA and Irene Bilger of Allentown PA; 14 Grandchildren, 18 Great Grandchildren and 1 Great Great Granddaughter.

A Private Graveside Service will be held Thursday, March 22, 2001 in Union Cemetery, Slatington PA. There are no Calling Hours. Interment in Union Cemetery, Slatington PA. The Heintzelman Funeral Home, Inc., in Schnecksville is in charge of arrangements. The Reverend Russell F. Haab will officiate.

In Lieu of Flowers, Memorial Contributions may be made to the St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church Memorial Fund, c/o the Funeral Home, PO Box 196, Schnecksville PA 18078-0196.

Anna M. (Pintz) Sell
Anna M. (Pintz) Sell, age 85, of Hellertown PA, died Saturday, April 19, 2003 in Hellertown. She was the Widow of the late Richard T. Sell.

Born in Bethlehem PA, she was the daughter of the late Stephan F. and Catherine T. (Czvizler) Pintz. She was a Homemaker. She was a Member of Christ Lutheran Church, Hellertown PA. She was also a former Cub Scout Den Leader at the Church.

She is survived by her sons , Richard F. Sell of Jericho VT and Douglas J. Sell of Bethlehem PA; Daughter, Kathleen M., wife of Alan D. Kunsman of Hellertown PA; Brother, Fred F. Pintz of Massachusetts; 8 Grandchildren and 12 Great Grandchildren.

Funeral Services will be held 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, April 22, 2003 in the Heintzelman Funeral Home, Inc., 326 Main Street, Hellertown. Family and Friends may call 10:00 - 11:00 a.m. Tuesday in the Funeral Home. The Reverend Philip C. Spohn officiating. Interment in Union Cemetery of Hellertown.

In lieu of flowers, Memorial Contributions may be made to the Christ Lutheran Church, 69 Main Street, Hellertown PA 18055.

Bessie C. (Keck) Shiffer
Bessie C. (Keck) Shiffer, age 93, of Hellertown PA, died Sunday, December 22, 2002 at Lehigh Valley Hospital Muhlenberg, Bethlehem PA. She was the Widow of the late Roy E. Shiffer, 1988.

Born in Bethlehem PA, she was the Daughter of the late George A. and Lena (Wenner) Keck. She was a Hostess at the Former Bethlehem Steel Club, Hellertown. She previously worked in the Forge Division of the Bethlehem Steel during WWII and as Bookkeeper at Goodman Furniture, Bethlehem PA. She was a Graduate of the Bethlehem Business College. She was a Member of the Christ Lutheran Church, Hellertown. She was also a Member of the New Beginnings Senior Citizens, Hellertown; Saucon Valley Community Center, Hellertown; 60+ Club, Hellertown; and the Saucon Ladies, Saucon Valley PA.

She is survived by her Son, Richard K. Shiffer, Sr. of Wyomissing PA and Hilton Head SC; Daughter, Betty L. Pasternak of Hellertown PA; sisters , Emily Eckley of Bethlehem PA and Anna Fuko of Bethlehem PA; 4 Grandchildren and 3 Great Grandchildren.

Funeral Services will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday, December 27, 2002 in the Christ Lutheran Church, 69 Main Street, Hellertown. Family and Friends may call 10:00 - 11:00 a.m. Friday, in the Church. Interment in Union Cemetery of Hellertown. Arrangements are by the Heintzelman Funeral Home, Inc., 326 Main Street, Hellertown.

Memorial Contributions may be made to the Church, 18055.

Bernard E. Showers
Bernard E. Showers, age 76, of Jacoby Road, Coopersburg PA, died Saturday, April 12, 2003. He was the Husband of Dorothy A. (Cressman) Showers. The couple celebrated their 40th Wedding Anniversary this past November.

Born in Bethlehem PA, he was the son of the late George and Carrie (Schnell) Showers. He was a Carrier for the United State Postal Service, Bethlehem PA for 35 years, retiring in 1982. He was a Veteran of the United States Navy having served during World War II and the Korean War. He was a Member of St. James Lutheran Church, Coopersburg PA. He was a Life Member of the 540 Democratic Club, Bethlehem PA.

He is survived by his Wife; Brother, George Showers of South Passadena FL; and Sister, Esther Flager of New Rochelle NY.

Funeral Services will be held 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 16, 2003 in the Heintzelman Funeral Home, Inc., 326 Main Street, Hellertown PA. Family and Friends may call 7:00 - 8:30 p.m. Tuesday in the Funeral Home. Interment in Union Cemetery of Hellertown.

In lieu of flowers, Memorial Contributions may be made to St. James Lutheran Church, 333 East Oxford Street, Coopersburg PA 18036.

Bruce J. Snyder
Bruce J. Snyder, age 70, of Orefield PA, died Monday, July 23, 2001 in the Phoebe Home, Allentown PA. He was the Husband of Adele J. (Yeager) Snyder. The couple celebrated their 48th Wedding Anniversary last July 27th.

Born in Allentown PA, he was the Son of the late Richard N. and Helen A. (Brown) Snyder. He was a Scanning Electron Microscopist for Lucent Technologies, formerly A.T.&T. Bell Labs in Allentown, for 32 years before retiring in 1989. He was a Member of Jordan United Church of Christ, 1837 Church Road, Allentown, where he served as a Deacon and Elder, and formerly served as President of the Consistory. He also sang with the Church Choir for over 50 years. He was a Veteran of the United States Navy having served during the Korean War as an Aviation Boatswain's Mate First Class. He graduated with an Associates Degree from Penn State University, Class of 1957.

He is survived by his Wife; Daughter, Kathryn L. Klins of Danville CA; Son, Kevin D. Snyder of Mertztown PA; sisters , Thelma E. Wisser of Allentown PA and Shirley C. Stephens of Allentown PA; and 5 Grandchildren. He was predeceased in death by Son, Rick B. Snyder, who died in 1993.

Funeral Services will be held 10:30 a.m. Thursday, July 26, 2001 in the Church. Family and Friends may Call 7:00 p.m. - 8:30 p.m. Wednesday in the Heintzelman Funeral Home, Inc., 4906 Route 309, Schnecksville and 9:30 a.m. until the time of Services, Thursday in the Church. Interment in Jordan U.C.C. Cemetery, Allentown.

In Lieu of Flowers, Memorial Contributions may be made to the Jordan U.C.C. Memorial Fund or The Phoebe Home, c/o the Funeral Home, PO Box 196, Schnecksville PA 18078-0196.

Barbara L. (Steigerwalt) Solt
Barbara L. (Steigerwalt) Solt, age 45, of Slatington PA, died Monday, August 12, 2002 in the Palmerton Hospital, Palmerton PA. She was the Wife of Paul F. Solt. The couple celebrated their 14th Wedding Anniversary this past July.

Born in Lehighton PA, she was the daughter of Hilda E. (Heilman) Steigerwalt of Slatington PA and the late Gordon W.W. Steigerwalt. She was a Data Transcriber for the Internal Revenue Service, in Fogelsville for the last 6 years. Prior to that she worked as a Temporary Office Worker, for various industries throughout the Lehigh Valley, for 20 years. She was a Member of Friedens United Church of Christ, Slatington PA.

She is survived by her Husband and mother ; Daughter, Georgine L. Steigerwalt at home; and sons , Stephen J. Steigerwalt, Travis P. Solt and Nicholas A. Solt, all at home.

A Memorial Service will be held 1:30 p.m., Friday, August 16, 2002 in the Heintzelman Funeral Home, Inc., 4906 Route 309, Schnecksville PA. There are no calling hours. The Reverend David S. Mohr officiating. Interment in Friedens Church Cemetery, Slatington PA.

Cynthia A. (Wimmer) Stratton
Cynthia A. (Wimmer) Stratton, age 43, of North Oswego Street, Allentown PA, died Wednesday, October 2, 2002 at the St. Luke's Hospital, Fountain Hill PA. She was the Wife of Joseph F. Stratton, III. The couple celebrated their 10th Wedding Anniversary last month.

Born in Fountain Hill PA, she was the Daughter of the late Frederick and Anna (Kost) Wimmer. She was a Homemaker. She was a Member of the Central Assembly of God, Bethlehem PA.

She is survived by her Husband; Daughter, Elizabeth J. Brown of Trexlertown PA; sisters , Annette H. Harold of Bethlehem PA and Audrey M. Harold of Hellertown PA; and 2 Granddaughters.

Funeral Services will be held 11:00 a.m. Monday, October 7, 2002 in the Central Assembly of God, 1300 Eaton Avenue, Bethlehem PA. Family and Friends may call 10:00 -11:00 a.m. Monday in the Church. The Reverend Stephen A. Roser officiating. Interment in Union Cemetery of Hellertown. Arrangements are by Heintzelman Funeral Home, Inc., 326 Main Street, Hellertown PA 18055.

Carl H. Strawn
Carl H. Strawn, age 74, of 1431 Philip Street, Bethlehem PA, died Monday, December 24, 2001 at the St. Luke's Hospital, Fountain Hill PA. He was the Husband of Olga K. (Nagy) Strawn. The couple celebrated their 44th Wedding Anniversary this past September.

Born in Hellertown PA, he was the Son of the late Frederick and Esther (Haas) Strawn. He worked in the Coke Oven Division at the Bethlehem Steel Co. for 40 years until retiring. He was a Member of the Bethlehem Area Mora Club; the Bethlehem Senior Citizens Council; the Edward H. Ackerman Post 397, Hellertown; the Dewey Fire Co., Hellertown; the American Bowling Congress - (ABC), Bethlehem Area; the United Steel Workers Local Union 2600; the Order of the Fleas, Easton; and he was Awarded the Jim Hemmerly Bethlehem Master of the ABC.

He is survived by his Wife; and Nieces and Nephews.

Funeral Services will be held 10:30 a.m. Friday from the Heintzelman Funeral Home, Inc., 326 Main Street, Hellertown PA; Family and Friends may call 9:30 - 10:30 a.m. Friday in the Funeral Home. Interment in Union Cemetery of Hellertown.

In lieu of flowers, Memorial Contributions may be made to the St. John's Windish Lutheran Church, 617 E. Fourth St. Bethlehem PA 18015 and/or the Borough of Hellertown Parks Improvement c/o Funeral Home, 326 Main St., Hellertown PA 18055.
