Russell L. Ballard
Russell L. Ballard, age 81, of Pleasant Valley PA, died Thursday, April 24, 2003 at the St. Luke's Hospital, Quakertown PA. He was the Husband of Catharine I. (Schmehl) Ballard. The couple celebrated their 59th Wedding Anniversary last July.

Born in Canton IL, he was the son of the late Lawrence L. and Vida (Dikeman) Ballard. He was a Roadmaster for Wrightstown Township, Bucks County PA for 12 years until retiring in 1987. He was previously Self-Employed Dairy Farmer in the Wrightstown Township area for 27 years. He was a Veteran of the United States Army having served during World War II in the Pacific Theatre. He was a Member of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church of Springfield Township. He was also a Member of the American Legion in California.

He is survived by his Wife; Son, Richard L. Ballard, husband of Janet L. of Blooming Glen PA; Daughter, Patricia B., wife of Jay B. Haines of Lansdale PA; Brother, Armyn L. in California; and 3 Grandchildren.

Funeral Services will be held 11:30 a.m. Saturday, April 26, 2003 in the Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church of Springfield, 2170 Route 212, Coopersburg PA. Family and Friends may call 10:30 - 11:30 a.m. Saturday in the Church. Interment in Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Springfield Township PA. Arrangements are the Heintzelman Funeral Home, Inc., Hellertown PA.

Memorial Contributions may be made to the Church, 18036.

Steve Bandi
Steve Bandi, age 80, of Steely Hill Road, Easton PA, died Monday, July 29, 2002 at Gracedale, Upper Nazareth Township PA.

Born in Bethlehem PA, he was the Son of the late James and Esther (Yoo) Bandi. He was a Farmer in the Williams Township PA area until retirement. He previously was a Laborer for the Bethlehem Steel Corporation for 16 years. He was a Member of the First Hungarian Lutheran Church, Bethlehem PA.

He is survived by his Brother, Alex Bandi of Easton PA. He is predeceased in death by his Brother, James in 1981.

Funeral Services will be held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, July 31, 2002 in the Heintzelman Funeral Home, Inc., 326 Main Street, Hellertown PA. Family and Friends may call 10:00 - 11:00 a.m. Wednesday in the Funeral Home. Interment in Union Cemetery of Hellertown PA.

In lieu of flowers, Memorial Contributions may be made to the First Hungarian Lutheran Church, 938 East Fourth Street, Bethlehem PA 18015.

Sydna Boehm
Sydna Boehm, age 85, of Macungie died Saturday, March 27, 2004 in her home. She was the Widow of the late Homer K. Boehm.

She is survived by her daughters , Rosemarie, wife of Richard D. Reichard and Barbara Compton; Son, James Mueller; Sister, Mary Schweitzer; Brother, Robert Schelegel; 7 Grandchildren and 7 Great Grandchildren.

Funeral Services will be held 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 30, 2004 in the Heintzelman Funeral Home, 326 Main Street, Hellertown PA. Family and Friends may call 12:30 p.m. Tuesday in the Funeral Home.

Shirley G. (Batzel) Burger
Shirley G. (Batzel) Burger, age 73, of Neffs PA, died Tuesday, May 15, 2001 in the Sacred Heart Hospital, Allentown PA. She was the Husband of Harry B. Berger, D.Ed. The couple celebrated their 55th Anniversary this past February.

Born October 4, 1927 in Philadelphia PA, she was the Daughter of the late William H. and Helen M. (Smith) Batzel. She was a Member of the Union United Church of Christ, Neffs PA, where she was a Member of the Helping Hands, the Quilters Group and the Mission Committee. She was a former Member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Media Chapter.

She is survived by her Husband; sons , Dr. Harry R. Berger of Montrose PA; Dale M. Berger of Warminster PA, Brian B. Berger of Aaronsburg PA and K. Timothy Berger of Schnecksville PA; sisters , Caroline Bitting of Lake Elsinore CA and Arlayne Clark of Florida; and 9 Grandchildren.

Funeral Services will be held 11:00 am Friday, May 18, 2001 in Union United Church of Christ, 5550 Route 873, Neffs PA. Family and Friends may call 7:00 - 8:30 pm Thursday in the Heintzelman Funeral Home, Inc., 4906 Route 309, Schnecksville PA. Interment in White marsh Memorial Park, Ambler PA.

In Lieu of Flowers, Memorial Contributions may be made to the Fox Chase Cancer Center c/o the Funeral Home, PO Box 196, Schnecksville PA 18078-0196.

Silas M. Brown
Silas M. Brown, age 87, of West Macada Road, Bethlehem PA, died Wednesday, April 10, 2002 at the St. Luke's Hospital, Fountain Hill PA. He was the Widower of the late Marjorie A. (Rettig) Brown.

Born in Fountain Hill PA, he was the Son of the late Silas M. and Annette (Sloyer) Brown. He was Chief Metallurgist in the Operations Department of the Bethlehem Steel for 42 years before retiring in 1978. He was of the Protestant Faith. He was a Member of the American Iron and Steel Institute; the American Society of Metallurgical Engineers; and the Saucon Valley Country Club.

He is surivived by his Son, Richard W. Brown of Copper Canyon TX; Daughter, Beverly B. Dominy of Allentown PA; Brother, Richard Brown of Fountain Hill PA; 6 Grandchildren and 1 Great Granddaughter.

Services will be Private and at the convenience of the Family. Arrangements are by the Heintzelman Funeral Home, Inc., 326 Main Street, Hellertown PA.

In lieu of flowers, Memorial Contributions may be made to the March of Dimes, 1031 W. Linden Street, Suite 104, Allentown PA 18102.

Thelma E. Bright
Thelma E. Bright, age 85, of North Jasper Street, Allentown PA, formerly of Lower Saucon Township, died Saturday, June 29, 2002 at the Lehigh Valley Hospital Muhlenberg, Bethlehem PA. She was the Widow of the late Raymond N. Bright who died in 1975.

Born in Pittsburgh PA, she was the Daughter of the late Rollin and Emma (Gould) Burrows. She last worked in the Allentown College Cafeteria for 9 years, retiring in 1980. Prior to that she was a Trimmer for the Holz Company, Allentown PA for 10 years. She was of the Protestant Faith.

She is survived by her Son, Raymond J. Bright, with whom she resided; daughters , Elizabeth J. Horn of Hellertown PA and Mary J. Pappas of Clearbrook VA; Brother, Murel Burrows of Pittsburgh PA; 4 Grandchildren, 2 Great Grandchildren and 1 Great Great Granddaughter.

Funeral Services will be held 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, July 2, 2002 in the Heintzelman Funeral Home Inc., 326 Main Street, Hellertown PA. Family and Friends may call 9:00 a.m.- 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, July 2, 2002 in the Funeral Home. Interment in Union Cemetery of Hellertown.

Thomas J. Brennan
Thomas J. Brennan, age 79, of Magnolia Road, Hellertown PA, died Wednesday, April 17, 2002 at the VNA Hospice at St. Luke's, Fountain Hill PA. He was the Husband of Mary A. (Welsh) Brennan. The couple celebrated their 59th Wedding Anniversary last June.

Born in Freeland PA, he was the Son of the late James X. and Katherine (Quinn) Brennan. He worked for the Bethlehem Steel for 40 years in the Accounting Division, retiring 1981. He was a Veteran of the United States Army having served during World War II. He was a Member of the Church of St. Theresa of the Child Jesus, Hellertown.

He is survived by his Wife; Son, Terrence P. Brennan of Bethlehem PA; Daughter, Kathleen A. Stradling of Greer SC; Brother, James X. Brennan in California; sisters , Grace Corazza of Hazelton PA, Lucille Preat of New York, Dorothy Rymshaw of Freeland PA, Kathleen Denion of Wilkes-Barre PA, Jean Marie Brennan of Freeland PA, Judith Dinofio of Freeland PA and Lynn Brennan of Hellertown PA; 4 Grandchildren and 1 Great Grandson.

A Funeral Mass will be held 9:30 a.m. Saturday, April 20, 2002 in the Church of St. Theresa of the Child Jesus, 1408 Easton Road, Hellertown PA. There will be no calling hours. Interment in Union Cemetery, Hellertown. Arrangements are by the Heintzelman Funeral Home, Inc., 326 Main Street, Hellertown PA.

Warren F. Bittner
Warren F. Bittner, age 76, of Kaywin Avenue, Bethlehem PA, died Sunday, November 24, 2002 at the St. Luke's Hospital, Fountain Hill PA. He was the Husband of Hilda H. (Groller) Bittner. The couple celebrated their 52nd Wedding Anniversary this past August.

Born in South White hall Township PA, he was the son of the late Earl and Alberta (Rex ) Bittner. He was a Supervisor for Ameri-Gas - Bottled Gas, Allentown PA for many years, until retiring. He was a Veteran of the United States Navy having served during World War II. He was a Member of St. Anne's Roman Catholic Church, Bethlehem PA.

He is survived by his Wife; daughters , Francine M. Nagy of Hellertown PA and Mary Ann McConnell of Michigan; Brother, Wilbert Bittner of White hall PA; and 2 Grandchildren.

Funeral Services will be held 9:45 a.m. Wednesday, November 27, 2002 in the Heintzelman Funeral Home, Inc., 326 Main Street, Hellertown PA, followed by a 10:30 a.m. Funeral Mass in St. Anne's Catholic Church, 450 Washington Avenue, Bethlehem PA. Family and Friends may call 8:45 - 9:45 a.m. Wednesday in the Funeral Home. Interment in St. John the Baptist Cemetery, White hall Township PA.
