Darlene F. (Heydt) Bertsch, age 52, of Schnecksville PA, died Wednesday, October 09, 2002 in the Hospice Unit at Lehigh Valley Hospital, Allentown PA. She was the Husband of Ernest R. Bertsch. The couple celebrate their 33rd Wedding Anniversary this past August.
Born in Schnecksville PA, she was the daughter of Willard J. Heydt of Reading PA and Florence (Ferrara) Heydt of Allentown PA. She worked in the Shipping Department of Bon Ton, formerly Hess's, in White hall for 14 years, retiring in 1997. She was a Member of Faith Evangelical Lutheran Church, 3355 MacArthur Road, White hall PA. She was a Former Cub Scout Leader, Troop 57, Neffs PA.
She is survived by her Husband; Parents; Daughter, Julie L., wife of Shawn Sokalsky of White hall PA; Son, Pharon E. Bertsch of Harrisburg PA; Sister, Barbara A., wife of Bruce Snyder of Allentown PA; Brother, Dennis J. Heydt of Hamburg PA; and Grandson, Brandon M. Sokalsky.
Funeral Services will be held 10:00 a.m. Saturday, October 12, 2002 in the Church. There are no Calling Hours. The Reverend Michael J. Bodnyk officiating. Interment in Egypt Cemetery, White hall PA. Arrangements are by the Heintzelman Funeral Home, Inc., of Schnecksville PA.

Donald Broadhecker
Donald Broadhecker, age 70, of 3070 Route 212, Springtown PA, died Sunday, February 11, 2001 at the St. Luke's Quakertown Hospital. He was the Husband of Thelma (Skagen) Broadhecker. The couple celebrated their 51st Anniversary this past October 9th.
Born March 10, 1930 in Wilson Borough PA, he was a Laborer at the Riegel Paper Mill, Milford NJ for 40 years until his retirement in 1991. He was a Member of Christ Lutheran Church, Springtown PA. He also was a Member of the Silver Creek Social Club, Springtown and the Springtown Rod and Gun Club.
He is survived by his Wife; sons , Thomas D. Broadhecker of Easton PA, Donald T. Broadhecker of High Bridge NJ, Jeffrey L. Broadhecker of San Francisco CA and Lee J. Broadhecker of Long Valley NJ; daughters , Diane M. Strock of Rochester NY and Marie D. Brandi of Easton PA; Sister, Rachel Stoneback of Breverd NC and 9 Grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be held 10:30 am Wednesday, February 14, 2001 at the Heintzelman Funeral Home, Inc., 326 Main Street, Hellertown PA. Calling Hours will be 7:00 - 8:30 pm Tuesday in the Funeral Home. Interment in Springtown Cemetery, Springfield Twp. PA.

Dorothy E. (Ritter) Baer
Dorothy E. (Ritter) Baer, age 98, of Orefield PA, died Monday, January 20, 2003 in the Lehigh Center, Lower Macungie Township PA. She was the Widow of the late Earle H. Baer.
Born in Allentown PA, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Jeanette (Brinker) Ritter. She was Secretary to the Treasurer of P.P.& L. Pennsylvania Power & Light in Allentown for 17 years before retiring in 1939. She was a Member of the Union United Church of Christ, Neffs PA. She was Past Matron and 50 Year Member of the former Royal Art Chapter # 413, and the former Anne Penn Allen Chapter # 145, both of Allentown PA; Member of the Mary Livingston, Order of the Eastern Star, Chapter # 167, Allentown PA; Past Worthy High Priestess and 50 Year Member of the Order of the White Shrine of Jerusalem, Chapter # 27, Allentown PA; Past President, Ladies Auxiliary of the Allen Commandry # 20, Knights Templar; former Assistant mother Advisor, Allentown Assembly # 40, Order of the Rainbow for Girls; Member, Past Matrons Association District 24; Charter Member and former Founding Secretary of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Lehigh Consistory, Allentown PA; and former Assistant Girl Scout Leader, Walberts Girl Scout Troop # 147, South White hall Township PA.
She is survived by her Daughter, Barbara J. Panner of Orefield PA; 2 Grandchildren and 2 Great Grandsons.

Anne (Mesko) Burke
Anne (Mesko) Burke, age 83, of Atria, W. Macada Road, Bethlehem PA, formerly of Detweiler Avenue, Hellertown PA, died Monday, July 15, 2002 at VNA Hospice at St. Lukes, Fountain Hill PA.
Born in Bethlehem PA, she was the Daughter of the late Emil and Agnes (Femina) Mesko. She was a Registered Nurse in various positions in Rochester NY, Allentown PA and Bethlehem PA. She was a graduate of St. Luke's Hospital School of Nursing. She was a Veteran of the United States Army Nurse Corps with the rank of Captain, serving during World War II, including 3 years in the Fourth General Hospital in Melbourne, Australia . She was a Member of the Edward H. Ackerman Post 397, Hellertown PA and the VFW Post 1810, Brentwood PA.
She is survived by her sons , John A. Burke of Milford DE and Daniel S. Burke of Virginia Beach VA; Daughter, Dr. Karen Burke LeFevre of Colchester VT; brothers , Nicholas Mesko of Bethlehem PA, John Mesko of Bethlehem PA and Peter Mesko of Bethlehem PA; Sister, Mary Takach of Bethlehem PA; and 2 Grandsons.

Ann C. (Kollar) Bernard, age 59, of High Hill Road, Slatington PA, died Monday, May 5, 2003 in her home. She was the Wife of Louis E. Bernard. The couple celebrated their 36th Wedding Anniversary last June.
Born in Phoenixville PA, she was the daughter of Catherine A. (Chiyka) Kollar of Phoenixville and the late Rudolph F. Kollar. She was a School Counselor at Slatington Elementary School of the Northern Lehigh School District for 16 years. She was a Member of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church, Slatington PA. She was Past President of the Northern Lehigh Community Service Coalition and Past President of the Slatington Jr. Women's Club.
She is survived by her Husband and mother ; sons , Louis E. Bernard, Jr. of Lock Haven PA, David D. Bernard of Kenneth Square PA and Jonathan J. Bernard of Raleigh NC; Daughter, Jennifer A. Bernard of Kansas City KS; Brother, Francis R. Kollar of Phoenixville PA; and Sister, Catherine A. Byrne of Spring City PA.

Diane Hajjar Beaton
Diane Hajjar Beaton, age 59, of Wilmington DE, died Monday, November 12, 2001 in the VNA Hospice at St. Luke's, Bethlehem PA.
Born in Methuen MA, she was the daughter of Delia (Haddad) Hajjar of Methuen MA and the late George A. Hajjar. She was an Elementary School Teacher in Tower Hill School in Wilmington DE for the last 20 years. Prior to that, she taught at Elementary Schools in Salem NH. She was a Member of St. Joseph's Melkite Church, Lawrence MA. She Graduated from Salem State University in Salem MA with a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education and from the University of Lowell in Lowell MA with a Master's Degree in Mathematics.
She is survived by her mother ; Brother, Daniel G. Hajjar of Allentown PA; and Nieces and Nephews.

Diane H. (Geist) Brooks, age 55, of Germansville PA, died Monday, June 02, 2003 in the Inpatient Hospice Unit at Lehigh Valley Hospital, Allentown PA. She was the Wife of Robert W. Brooks, Jr. The couple celebrated their 34th Wedding Anniversary last October.
Born in Weisenberg Township PA, she was the daughter of Clarence and Helen (Gehringer) Geist of Germansville PA. She was a Bookkeeper for the Henry Lumber Co. in Neffs PA for the last 10 years and concurrently worked as a Teacher's Assistant at Northwestern Lehigh Elementary School, New Tripoli for 10 years.
She is survived by her Husband and Parents; sons , Robert W. Brooks, III of Germansville PA, Randy S. Brooks of Albuquerque NM and Jeff A. Brooks of New Haven CN; Daughter, Sherry L. Brooks, at home; Brother, Kevin C. Geist of Germansville PA; and 1 Grandson, Robert E. Brooks.

David J. Bruni, Sr., age 73, of Schnecksville PA, died Saturday, November 23, 2002 in his home. He was the Husband of Anastasia A. (Labutis) Bruni. The couple celebrated their 49th Wedding Anniversary this month.
Born in Mahanoy City PA, he was the son of the late Bernard and Rose Mary (Garze) Bruni. He was a Toll Collector and Clerk for the Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission for 39 years before retiring in 1989. He was a Member of the Assumption B.V.M. Catholic Church, 633 West Washington Street, Slatington PA. He was a Veteran of the United States Army having served during World War II, with a rank of Private First Class. He was Past President of the Slatedale-Emerald Lions Club and a former Member of the North White hall Township Planning Commission.
He is survived by his Wife; Son, David J. Bruni, Jr. of Allentown PA; and Grandson, Michael D. Bruni of Allentown PA.
