Memorial Hospital Waynesburg, PA She was born June 25, 1908 in Blacksville, W.Va. a Daughter of the late A.Clark Johnson and Mary Elizabeth Hawkins Johnson.Mrs. Gooden was an active member of the Spraggs United Methodist Church while her health permitted and was a member of the Womens Society of the church. She was a Graduate of Blacksville HIgh School Class of 1927 and a Graduate of Fairmont State Teachers College class of 1932. She was an elementary teacher at Core, Pentress and Blacksville W.Va. for several years. Her Husband: Samuel L. Gooden whom she married July 29, 1933 died November 1975. Nelle L. Headlee, 85 of Bradenton, Fla formerly of Mt. Morris, PA and Silver Springs, Maryland died at 4:45 PM thurs. Dec. 19, 2002 in the Freeedom Village Nursing Center in Bradenton, Fla. She was born Nov. 1, 1917 in Mt. Morris, PA to the late James Coleman and Dora Ritter Lewellen. Mrs. Headlee was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church in Bradenton, Fla. where she was a member The Womens Society at the church. Mrs. Headlee was also a member of the Power Squadron boating club in Bradenton. She worked as a Secretary for the U.S. Government Naval Ordinance Laboratory in White Oak, Maryland for several years. Her Husband: Willis L. Norman Wesley "Mike" Wilson, 91 of 300 Ceneter Ave. Waynesburg, PA died at 7:05 AM Wednesday, Feb. 12, 2003 in the Beverly Health Care Waynesburg following a lenghty illness. He was born July 4, 1911 in Waynesburg, PA to the late Frank and Flo(Grimm)Wilson.Mr. Wilson was a member of the First Christian Church of Waynesburg. He attended Waynesburg Public Schools. He was a Life Member of the Loyal Order of Moose #461 of Waynesburg and was active in Moose Charities and Waynesburg Fund raising activities while his health permitted. Mr. Wilson was a former coach and manager of Little League Football, Baseball, and Wrestling Teams. He was honored with a dinner and watch for all his work with the Junior Athletic League. He was also active in the Democrat Party. He worked for 40 years as a machine operator at the Hoge Bakery in Waynesburg. For 6 1/2 years he worked as a custodian for Central Greene School District. Paul Barlow, 92 of Waynesburg, PA died at 11:15AM Thursday, APril 1, 2004 at home. He was born March 22, 1912 in Waynesburg, PA A Son of the late Thomas G. and Maria Pinelli Barlow. Mr. Barlow attended the Waynesburg Bible Chapel in Waynesburg. He enjoyed bowling and gardening. He was a Veteran of W.W.II having served in the South Pacific with the U. S. Army. He was a former member of the James Farrell American Legion Post #330 in Waynesburg. He worked for several years as a Coal Miner. He then moved to New Jersey in 1952 and worked for Riatian Copper Smelting and Refining for several years. Mr. Barlow moved to Florida in 1967 and worked for Phospate Co., IMC. In 1993 he moved back to Waynesburg. His Wife: Wilma Cumpston Barlow died March 22, 1962. Surviving are 3 daughters : Paula E. Draper of Montana, Theresa B. Bernhart, Sr. 88 of Washington , PA formerly of Waynesburg, PA died at 12:30AM Sunday, April 4, 2004 at the Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh, PA He was born March 15, 1916 in Pittsburgh, PA Mr. Bernhart was a member of the First Baptist Church of Waynesburg. He was a Veteran of W.W. II having served with the U. S. Airforce. He was a member of the American Legion Post in Washington , PA He was also a member of the Waynesburg Masonic Lodge #153 F.&AM and was also a member of the Syria Temple. Mr. Bernhart enjoyed golfing and attending functions that his Grandchildren were involved in. He worked for Michael Baker engineering for several years. Then for 38 years he owned and operated with his Wife the Eleanor Style Shop in Waynesburg and the Thom McCan Shoe Store in Waynesburg retiring in 1986. Paul L. Hetu, 88 of Waynesburg, PA died at 10:30AM Friday August 15, 2003 at home. He had been in his usual health and death was due to an apparent heart attack. He was born June 3, 1915 in Woonsocket, Rhode Island to the late Alfalfa and Kotingea Hetu. Mr. Hetu use to dig graves at various cemeteries in Greene Co. He also sold newspapers for many years. He enjoyed eating at various resturants in Waynesburg and talking to people. AT the request of the deceased there will be no public visitation or service. Rhodes Sr., 88 of Ruff Creek, PA died at 10:30PM Tuesday Nov. 30, 2004 at the Rolling Meadows Nursing Home in Waynesburg He was born Feb. 25, 1916 in Greene Co., PA a Son of the late William Franklin Rhodes and Janie Mitchell Milliken.Mr. Rhodes was a member of the Bethlehem Baptist Church where he was a former Sunday School Teacher and a former Dartball and Softball player.He was a 1934 Graduate of Waynesburg HS. and was a member of the Senior Citizens Bowling Leaque.He was a Veteran of W.W.II having served with the U. S. Army and earned a Bronze Star for Bravery and 2 purple hearts.He worked for Central Greene School District as a Cust. and later drove the Bookmobile. He retired in 1978 as a cust. He also worked part time for several years at the Ruff Creek Store.Mr. Rhodes was also an Aux. Policeman and served as Washington Twp. She was preceded in death by her parents Joseph and Ethelyn Blaker Carpenter. Mrs. Hoy died unexpectantly at home in her sleep. She lived her entire life in Greene County. She was a member of Washington St. United Methodist Church. She was a member of 20th Century Club, Washington Hospital Hospice, Eastern Star, Social Service League, and White Shrine. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. She worked at Freda's Beauty Shop for several years and was a homemaker. Her husband, Robert E. Hoy, whom she married November 9, 1968 survives. He was born April 25, 1961 in Philippi, W.Va. He was the Son of the late Floyd Harris and Hilda Coger Harris Cameron of Waynesburg. Rance was affiliated with the Landmark Baptist Church in Waynesburg. He was a self employed junk dealer dealing mostly in scrap tires for recycling.
