JOHN E. CLEMENS
John E. " White y" Clemens, 62, of Greensburg, passed away at home surrounded by his loving family on Monday, Feb. 21, 2000. Born Jan. 15, 1938, in Jeannette, he was owner/operator of Clemens Trucking in Greensburg. As his profession, he did what he loved and he loved trucking. He is survived by his loving wife of 32 years, Helen E. (Race) Clemens; and the following children: Dwayne Clemens and his wife, Nila, Michael Clemens and his wife, Kim, Julia Sphon and her husband, Chip, Dean Clemens and his wife, Donna, Carol Stablein, Shirley Barton, Joyce Pivirotto and her husband, Gary, and Lynda Renchko and her husband, Ken. He is also survived by 15 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; a brother, Joseph "Joe" Clemens and wife, Janet; a sister, Myrt Conrad and her husband, Bill; several nieces and nephews; and numerous cousins. Also his loving pet dog, "Penney." Family and friends were received at the KEPPLE-GRAFT FUNERAL HOME INC., 524 N. Main St., Greensburg, Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m. and will be received Thursday from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. A blessing service will be held in the funeral home Friday at 10 a.m. Entombment will follow at the Westmoreland County Memorial Park. HELEN (GALINAC) GYENES
Helen (Galinac) Gyenes, 74, of Murrysville, formerly of Pittsburgh, died Sunday, Feb. 20, 2000, in her loving home. She was born April 6, 1925, in Saltsburg, Pa., a daughter of the late Lawrence and Anna (Bedick) Galinac. She was a member of St. Mary's Church, Export. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers , Joe and John Galinac. Helen is survived by her loving husband of 55 years, John Gyenes; a son, John Gyenes of Pittsburgh; three daughters , Jean Frand of Penn Township, Bonnie Christophersen and husband, Chris, of Westport, Conn., and Doreen Brammell and husband, Rob, of Hilliard, Ohio; three brothers , Lawrence Galinac of Latrobe, William Galinac of Cleveland, Ohio, and Thomas Galinac of Mayfield Heights, Ohio; two sisters , Mary Weravetz and Dorothy Roeder, both of Arizona. In addition, Helen is survived by 14 ®MDBO¯®MDNM¯loving and well-loved grandchildren, Joe, Lauren, Joshua, and Jared Frand, Brittany, Kelsey, Erik Christophersen, Robert, James, Zsuzsa and John Gyenes and Ashley, Carla and Leslie Brammell. Catherine Strosko Hlyva, 69, of Mt. Pleasant RD6, died Wednesday, Feb. 23, 2000, in Westmoreland Regional Hospital, Greensburg. She was born Jan. 10, 1931, in Armbrust, a daughter of the late Harry and Martha Polation Strosko. She was a member of St. Mary's Byzantine Catholic Church in Trauger. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Anna Sorban; and two brothers , Stephen and Joseph Strosko. She is survived by her husband of 50 years, John Hlyva; a daughter, Barbara V. Hlyva at home; two sons , David A. and Donald Hlyva, both of New Stanton; the following sisters and brothers : Mary Gilmour of Oakland, Stella Kosarek of Armbrust, Andrew Strosko of Alverton, John Strosko of Youngwood, Irene Strosko of Donegal, Martha Matenkoski of Hazelton and Theresa Louise Kimmel of New Jersey; also nieces and nephews. Mary (Mae) Katherine Keim, 87, of Market Street, Scottdale, died Monday, Feb. 21, 2000, in the Latrobe Area Hospital. Delores E. Andrews Kubicek, 62, of Youngwood, died Tuesday, Feb. 22, 2000, at home. She was born Jan. 10, 1938, in Norvelt, a daughter of the late Frank Mahlon and Eleanor Mitchell Andrews. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Youngwood, its choir and Women's Association, also served as financial secretary and custodian, and was a former deacon and elder. She is survived by her husband, Frank W. Kubicek of Youngwood; three daughters , Mrs. Terry (Carol) Riddle, Mrs. Wilson (Donna) Fox and Susan Kubicek and fiance, David Luce, all of Youngwood; four sons , James Kubicek and wife, Tammy, of Youngwood, Paul Kubicek and wife, Kris, of Youngwood, David Kubicek and wife, Audra, of Ruffsdale and John Kubicek of Youngwood; two sisters , Mrs. Blaine (Jean) Crise and Mrs. Gerry (Virginia) Speer, both of Norvelt; a brother, Thomas Andrews and wife, Betty, of Oklahoma City, Okla.; and 10 grandchildren. Susan E. Kubish, 83, of Pittsburgh, formerly of Southwest Greensburg, died Tuesday, Feb. 22, 2000, in UPMC Presbyterian, Oakland. She was born Sept. 18, 1916, in York Run, a daughter of the late Joseph and Sophie Koval Arendas. She was a member of the Church of St. Paul, Greensburg, and its Rosary Altar Society. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William E. Kubish, on Jan. 7, 1981; five brothers , John, Joseph, Peter, Michael and Andrew; and a sister, Mary Vrable. She is survived by two daughters , Janet E. and her husband, Edward Pospisil, of Mammoth and Patricia S. and her husband, Stanley Slomberg, of Pittsburgh; a granddaughter, Paulette and her husband, Randy Sivak, of Norvelt; two great-grandchildren, Stephanie and Daniel Sivak; a brother, Steven Arendas of Greensburg; and several nieces and nephews. Evelyn E. Kuntz, 64, of Greensburg RD9 (Salem Township), died Tuesday, Feb. 22, 2000, in the Westmoreland Regional Hospital, Greensburg. She was born Aug. 14, 1935, in Salem Township, a daughter of the late Frank Sr. and Anna Kybach Bradosky. She was a member of the Trinity United Church of Christ in Delmont, a homemaker for her family, and an avid bingo player who enjoyed attending bingos throughout the Westmoreland County area. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers , Frank J. Bradosky, Mike Bradosky, and Charles "Chuck" Bradosky Sr.; and by two sisters , Katherine Fostar and Mary J. Tkach. She is survived by two sons , Edward W. Kuntz and William A. Kuntz, both at home; two brothers , John Bradosky and his wife, Valetta, of Jeannette RD2 and Andy Bradosky and his wife, Betty, of Export RD1; and two sisters , Ann Henry and her husband, John, of Jeannette RD2 and Sophia Bradosky of Greensburg RD9. Florence M. (Wisniewski) Kuszajewski, 84, of Polish Hill, died Tuesday, Feb. 22, 2000, at UPMC St. Margaret, Aspinwall. She was the wife of the late Frank J. Kuszajewski. Beloved mother of Gloria M., Francis R. and the late Robert F. Kuszajewski. mother -in-law of Susan E. (Mroz) Kuszajewski. Grandmother of Claire J. and Ellen T. Kuszajewski. Pearl E. Ferrara Laudadio, 84, of Columbia, Md., formerly of Jeannette, died Wednesday, Feb. 23, 2000, in the Lorien Nursing Home, Columbia, Md. She was born March 15, 1915, in Greensburg, a daughter of the late Frank and Emma Ricci Ferrara. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John F. Laudadio; five sisters , Isabella Ferrara, Sylvia Ferrara, Jean Rosky, Clementina Martin and Concetta Pasquarelli; and two brothers , John and Nicholas Ferrara. She is survived by her son, John F. and his wife, Michelle Laudadio, of Columbia, Md.; three grandchildren, LeeAnne, Matthew and Sarah Laudadio; a brother, Rudolph and his wife, Rose Ferrara, of Southwest Greensburg; a sister, Ann Bell of Greensburg; and several nieces and nephews. CHARLOTTE L. LOWMAN
Charlotte L. Lowman, 89, of Greensburg, died Tuesday, Feb. 22, 2000, in the Integrated Health Services of Greater Pittsburgh at Greensburg. She was born Oct. 6, 1910, in Blairsville, a daughter of the late Walter and Laura Kelly McClain. Prior to her retirement, she was an elementary school teacher in the Greensburg Salem School District, having taught at the former Seventh Ward School. She was a member of the Zion's Lutheran Church of Greensburg and was a life member of the National Education, the Pennsylvania State Education and the Westmoreland County Teachers associations and had formerly been a member of Unit 3 of the Westmoreland Regional Hospital Auxiliary and was a former Board Member of the Greensburg Teachers' Credit Union. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by a sister, Leah E. Newhouse. She is survived by a son, Edward A. Lowman of Clermont, Fla. Friends will be received at the BARNHART FUNERAL HOME, 505 E. Pittsburgh St., Greensburg, Friday from 9 to 11 a.m., at which time services will be held in the funeral home with the Rev. Gene R. MAX MALIS
Max "Harpo" Malis, 65, of Greensburg, died Tuesday, Feb. 22, 2000, in Westmoreland Regional Hospital, Greensburg. He was born May 19, 1934, in Hutchinson, a son of Margaret Bendick Malis of Rostraver Township and the late Max Malis. He was a former employee of the Pittsburgh Steel Corp., Monessen, and later worked for 30 years with the Elliott Corp. in Jeannette. He had served in the U.S. Army, and was Catholic by faith. He had been the former baseball and football coach and later general manager of the Fort Allen Volunteer Recreation Association. In addition to his Father , he was preceded in death by a brother, William Malis. In addition to his mother , he is survived by his loving wife, Nancy Caughey Malis; and children, Cheri Bobin and husband, Robert, of Donora, Terry Malis and wife, Becky, of Latrobe, Mark Malis and wife, Joyce, of Greensburg, Kimberly Hendrick and husband, Tom, of Hunker; a brother, Joseph Malis of Erie; three sisters , Annabelle Sever of Hutchinson, Rose Stubbs and Evelyn Kayda, both of Belle Vernon; and 11 grandchildren. Rita S. New, 80, of Albuquerque, N.M., formerly of Turtle Creek, died Monday, Feb. 21, 2000. She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Henry "Bill" New; a daughter, Rita A. New of Albuquerque, N.M.; two sons , James A. New and wife, Vickie, of Bosque Farms, N.M., and William A. New of Albuquerque, N.M.; grandchildren, Nathan, Sarah and Tyler New of Albuquerque, Anita and Amy New of Bosque Farms; and a sister, Agnes Heasley and husband, George, of Greensburg. Mrs. New was a member of the Holy Ghost ®MDBO¯®MDNM¯Parish, where she was active in the Rosary Altar Society. She worked as a volunteer teacher's aide at Holy Ghost Catholic School. Mary "Mary O" Ortuglio, 87, of High Park, Jeannette, died Tuesday, Feb. 22, 2000, at her residence. She was born April 14, 1912, in Jeannette, a daughter of the late Frederick and Mary Gigetti Bazzan. Prior to retirement, she was employed by the former Jeannette Glass Co., and was a member of the Ascension Church of Jeannette. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Anthony F. Ortuglio Sr., in 1988; her stepfather, John Tamine Sr.; two sisters , Jennie Tibolet and Angeline Manning; and a stepbrother, John Tamine Jr. She is survived by a son, Anthony F. Ortuglio Jr.; a daughter, Mary Grace Lauricia and her husband, James, all of Jeannette; a sister, Edith Hoadwonic of Wyano; a stepsister, Julie Veronie, and a stepbrother, Stephen Tamine and wife, Ann, all of Jeannette; four grandchildren, James Lauricia Jr. and wife, Dina, Tia Lauricia, Dina Donini and husband, Sam, and Candace Ortuglio; a great-granddaughter, Taylor Lauricia; and numerous nieces and nephews.
