Sara Johnson
Hempfield Township

Sara "Betty" Johnson, 75, of Hempfield Township, died Wednesday, Sept. 13, 2000, at Westmoreland Regional Hospital, Greensburg. She was born July 25, 1925, in Greensburg, a daughter of the late James and Florence Wilkinson Williams. Prior to her retirement, she was employed by the Hempfield High School Food Service. She was a member of the Greensburg Alliance Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John H. Johnson Sr.; and by a brother, James Williams. She is survived by a son, John H. Johnson Jr. and his wife, Diana, of Tyler, Texas ; two daughters , Peggy Johnson of Latrobe and her fiance, Jim Nelson, and Mrs. Sara Beanner and her husband, Charles, of Latrobe; seven grandchildren, Charlie and Lori Beanner of Pittsburgh, Brian, Cara, John Aaron, Grace and Hannah Johnson, all of Tyler, Texas ; two brothers , Richard Williams and his wife, Annie, of Knoxville, Tenn., and Robert Williams and his wife, Gail, of Cornelius, N.C.; three sisters , Mrs. Mae Johnson and her husband, Frank, of Irwin, Mrs. Mary Ann Henderson of Ashland, Ohio, and Mrs. Lois Friedline and her husband, Donald, of Latrobe; a sister-in-law, Mrs. Ann Williams of Dixons Mills, Ala.; and a number of nieces and nephews. Friends will be received at the COSHEY-NICHOLSON FUNERAL HOME INC., 319 W. Pittsburgh St., Greensburg, Friday from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Additional visitation will be held at the Greensburg Alliance Church, Route 136 and Baltzer-Meyer Road, Hempfield Township, Saturday from 10 to 11 a.m., at which time service will be held with the Rev. D. Roy Dail officiating. Interment will follow in the Westmoreland County Memorial Park, Hempfield Township. Alvin P. Oskin Jr., funeral director, in charge of arrangements.

Howard F. `Butch' Kimbel
Bellevue

Howard F. "Butch" Kimbel, 78, of Bellevue, died Tuesday, Sept. 12, 2000. Preceded in death by his beloved wife, Lorraine Johnson Kimbel, he is survived by loving children, Maribeth "Sis" Stefanik and her husband, Ernie, of Derry, Pa. and Timothy H. Kimbel and his wife, Diane, of McCandless; three grandchildren Kerri and John Stefanik and Timothy J. Kimbel; three great-grandchildren, Shaina, Tonya and Kiara Stefanik; and two sisters , Moni Born and Eleanor Donahoe, both of McKeesport. He was also preceded in death by two brothers , Robert C. and Joseph P. Kimbel; and two sisters , Carol A. and Elizabeth Kimbel. Mr Kimbel served with the U.S. Army in Europe and participated in the Battle of the Bulge. He was employed as a tool and die setter for Wolverine for over 30 years until the company relocated. He later worked for Davies Can and Pittsburgh Mattress Co. He was a member of BPOE-McKees Rocks Lodge 1263. Friends invited from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday and Friday in the ORION C. PINKERTON FUNERAL HOME, INC., a Golden Rule Member Firm, 1014 California Avenue, Avalon, (North Boros) where a blessing service will be at noon on Saturday. Burial will be in Christ Our Redeemer (North Side) Catholic Cemetery, Ross Township. Memorials are suggested to the World War II Memorial Fund, American Battle Monuments Commission, P.O. Box 96074, Washington , D.C., 20090-6074.

William Frank Larimer
Chapel Hill, N.C.

William "Bill" Frank Larimer, 50, of Chapel Hill, N.C., died Saturday, Aug. 26, 2000, at UNC Hospitals as a result of injuries sustained in an auto accident in North Carolina. He was born in Greensburg, the son of Luella Harold Larimer of Jeannette and the late William Reed Larimer. He was a 1968 graduate of Hempfield High School and went on to receive his B.A. from the University of Pittsburgh and his J.D. from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. After law school he worked as an associate with Winston, Coleman and Bernholtz, and later as a partner in Winston, Blue, Larimer and Rocks. From 1982 to 1997, he was a supervising attorney in the Criminal Law Clinic at the University of North Carolina School of Law. He was a member of the N.C. State Bar and the American Bar Association. In addition to his mother , he is survived by a sister, Virginia Ann Hohn and her husband, Robert G., of Irwin; loving best friend, Ann Howard of Chapel Hill, N.C.; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. Friends and family will be received at the Grace United Church of Christ Saturday from 1 to 2 p.m., followed by a memorial service with Dr. Robert W. Jobe officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Grace United Church of Christ, 119 N. Second St., Jeannette, PA 15644.

Regina Jankowski Lis
Braddock

Regina Jankowski Lis, 79, of Braddock, died Tuesday, Sept. 12, 2000, in UPMC Braddock. She was born Jan. 8, 1921, in Braddock, and was the daughter of the late Ludwik and Theodora Warda Jankowski. She was the wife of Michael S. Lis; and mother of Michael Lis and wife, Barbara, and Barbara Jean Riddle and husband, John. Also survived by five grandchildren, Karianne E. Lis, Michael E. Lis, Matthew J. Riddle, Lt. Justin A. and wife, Penny Lynn Riddle, and Brian K. Riddle. Friends will be received from noon to 9 p.m. Friday in the RONALD V. LUCAS FUNERAL HOME, corner of Bell and Jones avenues, North Braddock, (412) 271-1361. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday in Sacred Heart Church. Interment will follow in the Braddock Catholic Cemetery.

Norma J. Lowe
Youngwood

Norma J. Lowe, 77, of Youngwood, died Thursday, Sept. 14, 2000, in Westmoreland Regional Hospital, Greensburg. She was born May 5, 1923, in Youngwood, a daughter of the late Russell and Delila Prinkey Wagner. She was retired from the Youngwood post office after 30 years of service. She was an active member of the Christ United Methodist Church, where she was a member of the choir, Circle 2 and a Sunday school teacher. She is survived by her husband, William A. Lowe; a daughter, Jeanne Kay Lowe, of Youngwood; a brother, Vernon E. Wagner, of Hunker RD1; a sister, Mrs. Ray (Gail) Rutter, of Youngwood; and a number of loving nieces and nephews. Friends will be received at the C. RICHARD McCAULEY FUNERAL HOME INC., Youngwood, Friday from 1 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 10 a.m. in Christ United Methodist Church, Youngwood, with the Rev. Dr. Merritt Edner officiating. Interment in Westmoreland County Memorial Park, Greensburg.

John Meier Jr.
Export

John Meier Jr., 64, of Export, died suddenly Tuesday, Sept. 12, 2000. He was born Sept. 11, 1936, in Newlonsburg, a son of the late John Sr. and Margaret Griffin Meier. John was a member of St. Mary's Church, and was a former employee of Meier Hardware, both of Export. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters , Katherine Meier and Florence "Flossy" Kirkland; and a brother, Theodore "Ted" Meier. Surviving are two sisters , Evelyn Hartland of Delmont and Mary Pees of Hummelstown, Pa.; a brother, Jack Meier of Murrysville; and numerous nieces and nephews. Friends will be received Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the EDWIN N. WOLFE FUNERAL HOME INC., Export. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Saturday at 10 a.m. in St. Mary's Church with Father John Carey as celebrant. Interment will follow in Grandview Cemetery, Export.

Marco A. Polito
Mt. Lebanon

Marco A. Polito, 70, of Mt. Lebanon, died Wednesday, Sept. 13, 2000. Beloved husband of 50 years to Bernice Mahfood Polito. Brother of Vincent and Anthony Polito. Brother-in-law of Norman and Pat Mahfood. Mr. Polito served in the U.S. Marine Corps in Korea. He was employed 40 years with the B.P. Tracey Company in North Side, Pittsburgh, and five years with Washington Mold in Washington , Pa. Most of his career was spent in various sales positions. Marco was very active in the St. Bernard Catholic Church, where he served as an usher for many years. He also is survived by many nieces and nephews. Friends may call at LAUGHLIN MEMORIAL CHAPEL INC., 222 Washington Road, Mt. Lebanon, Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated in St. Bernard Church, 311 Washington Road, Mt. Lebanon, Saturday at 9 a.m. Entombment will follow in Queen of Heaven Cemetery Mausoleum.

Manetta G. Jones Raymond
Scottdale

Manetta G. Jones Raymond, 84, of Scottdale RD1, passed away Wednesday afternoon, Sept. 13, 2000, in Frick Hospital, Mt. Pleasant. Manetta was born in Mt. Pleasant, March 13, 1916, a daughter of the late Emmet and Mabel Bowman Jones. Manetta was a loving mother , grandmother and sister to her family. She was a member of the Owensdale United Methodist Church. Manetta is survived by her devoted daughter, Phyllis J. Lowe, of Scottdale RD1; her three grandsons, Gary Lowe and his wife, Mary Ann, of Connellsville, Clint Lowe and his wife, Connie, of Dawson and Joel Lowe and his wife, Sherry, of Connellsville; her six great-grandchildren, Stacy, Brandi, Jennifer, Joel Jr. and Michelle Lowe and Jonathan Payne; her sister, Madeline Sprung, of West Leisenring; her brother, Bruce Jones and his wife, Lucy, of Cleveland, Ohio; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Manetta was preceded in death by her husband, Charles E. Raymond, on March 23, 1994; her son-in-law, Maurice C. Lowe, on Dec. 8, 1997; her two sisters , Muriel Zimmerman and Dorothea Uber; her half sister, Helen Collins; and her two brothers , Wayne Jones and Marion "Bud" Jones. There will be no public viewing. A private family viewing will be held Friday, Sept. 15, followed by funeral services with the Rev. Charles E. Neiderhiser officiating. Interment will take place in Green Ridge Memorial Park, Bullskin Township, next to her late husband. Funeral arrangements are being personalized by the ROBERT B. Frank H. Reiter
Stowe

Frank H. Reiter, died Wednesday, Sept. 13, 2000 at 2 a.m. in Ohio Valley General Hospital with his beloved wife, Myrtle (Petri) Reiter of 60 years at his side. Frank was born on Oct. 24, 1916 in McKees Rocks. He was the Father of Judie (David) Booth of Upper St. Clair; brother of Marie C. and Edward Reiter, and the late Margaret and Robert Reiter; grandfather of David Booth II of Pittsburgh and Darren Booth of Falls Church, Va. He was an employee of Pittsburgh and Lake Erie Railroad for 42 years. Family to receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday in McDERMOTT FUNERAL HOME, INC., 1225 Chartiers Avenue, McKees Rocks, (Family owned and operated since 1886.) Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. Saturday in St. John of God Parish in St. Mary's Church.

Robert Jay Resslar
Blairsville

Robert Jay Resslar, 41, of Blairsville RD3, passed away Tuesday, Sept. 12, 2000, in his residence. He was born Dec. 21, 1958, in Latrobe, a son of Adam and Eleanor Gefrovich Resslar of New Alexandria. He was employed by Riverview Homes for 22 years and was a graduate of Derry Area High School, Class of 1977. He was a member of the United Methodist Church of New Alexandria. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Paul and Sara Jane Resslar; and maternal grandparents, John and Mary Gefrovich. In addition to his parents, he is survived by two children, Andrea and Aaron of Blairsville; the following brothers and sister: Adam M. Resslar Jr. and wife, Lisa, Debra Resslar and husband, Tim Glotfelty, and Leonard Resslar, all of New Alexandria, and Richard Resslar and wife, Lorrie, of Latrobe; along with six nieces, a nephew and a great-niece. Bob was a loving, kind, and devoted son, Father and brother. He will be missed deeply by all who loved him. Friends will be received Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the P. DAVID NEWHOUSE FUNERAL HOME, corner of Church and Washington streets in New Alexandria, where services will be conducted Saturday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Lota C. Jones, pastor of the New Alexandria United Methodist Church, officiating. Interment will follow in Union Cemetery, New Alexandria.

Eleanor M. (Rebel) Ruppert
Bellevue

On Wednesday, Sept. 13, 2000, in the Vincentian Home, McCandless, Eleanor M. (Rebel) Ruppert, 73, beloved wife of 51 years of Arnold T. Ruppert Sr. of Bellevue. She is also survived by loving children, Rev. Dr. Mark T. Ruppert and his wife, Margaret, of Akron, Ohio and Tod Ruppert and his wife, Mia, of Ross; grandchildren, Rebecca and Ashley Ruppert and Jeremy Ruppert; a brother, Frank J. Rebel Jr. of Englewood, Fla.; a sister, Joann Brown of New Castle; a nephew, Frank J. Rebel III of New Jersey; and a niece, Jean White hurst of Wisconsin. She was preceded in death by her parents, Francis J. and Ruth E. Rebel; and a sister, Jean Rebel. Mrs. Ruppert was a retired employee of the Northgate School District. She was a member of North Hills Chapter 526 OES and had served as judge of elections in Bellevue. Friends invited from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday, from 12 to 3 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday and from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Monday in the ORION C. PINKERTON FUNERAL HOME, INC., A Golden Rule Member Firm, 1014 California Ave., Avalon (North Boros). Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Monday in the Riverview United Presbyterian Church, 3505 Perrysville Ave., Pittsburgh, PA 15214, where Mrs. Ruppert had been a longtime member, had sung in choir and to which memorials in her memory are suggested. Burial will be in Union Dale Cemetery on North Side.
