Margaret Kirkpatrick Smith, 93, of Ashtabula, Ohio, formerly of Latrobe, died Monday, Sept. 11, 2000, in Ashtabula. She was born Aug. 9, 1907, in Flat Woods (Fayette County), a daughter of the late John and Hanna Marie (Boyle) Kirkpatrick. She had been a private duty nurse, was a member of the Latrobe Presbyterian Church, and a member of the Order of the Eastern Star Chapter 221 of Latrobe. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Andrew Smith, in 1979; two sons , John P. "Jack" Smith and Theron Charles Smith; three brothers , William, Ralph and John Kirkpatrick; and a sister, Martha Cyrila Farkash. She is survived by three daughters , Patricia Wasylenki and husband, Morris, of Ashtabula, Ohio, Margaret Jean Foster of Hershey and Karen Ann Smith of Derry; 11 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; two sisters , Ethel Buerger of Cleveland, Ohio, and Elizabeth Warren of Florida; and a number of nieces and nephews. Friends will be received at the HARTMAN-GRAZIANO FUNERAL HOME INC., 1500 Ligonier St., Latrobe, Thursday from noon until 2 p.m., at which time funeral services will be held in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Dr. David B. Batchelder officiating. Interment will follow in Unity Cemetery, Unity Township.

Clement J. Swiantek, 94, of Perryopolis, died Monday, Sept. 11, 2000, at 1 p.m. in Uniontown Hospital. He was born July 3, 1906, in Bethel Park, a son of the late Anthony and Sophia Janoski Swiantek. Clem was a member of St. John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church, Perryopolis. He was owner and operator of the Perryopolis Feed and Supply Store for 61 years. Survived by a daughter, Mrs. Thomas (Sara Jean) Sickle of Perryopolis; a son, Clement L. Swiantek of Belle Vernon; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Matt (Margaret) Luce of Somerset; and three brothers , Raymond Swiantek and Louis Swiantek, both of Perryopolis, and Anthony L. Swiantek Jr. of Juniata. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Celia M. Swiantek, on July 3, 1988; three sisters , Florence Swiantek, Cecelia Schultz and Amelia Rabatin; and two brothers , Theodore and Michael Swiantek. Friends received Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the BLAIR-LOWTHER FUNERAL HOME INC., 106 E. Independence St., Perryopolis, where a prayer service will be held Friday at 9:30 a.m., followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. John the Baptist R.C. Church, Perryopolis, with the Rev. Father Louis W. Cheatham as celebrant. Entombment St. John's Cemetery, Perryopolis. A wake service will be held Thursday at 8 p.m.

Clara Theresa (Schwartzmiller) Tucciarone, 81, died Friday, September 8, 2000. Wife of the late Fred M. Jr. Beloved mother of Clare E. Highfill, Michael F. Tucciarone, and Theresa M. Smolevitz. Also survived by 11 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. Sister of Leo, Ralph, Charles, and Albert Schwartzmiller, Rita Harris, and Bertha DeFeo. Member of the Rosary Society and Altar Rosary at St. John the Baptist Church. She was born Sept. 25, 1940, in the Bronx, N.Y., the daughter of the late Samuel and Helen (Ellenberg) Sussman. Diana was the owner and operator of Michael's of Ligonier Jewelers in Ligonier. She was a member of the Congregation Emanu-El Israel, Greensburg, and the Sisterhood of the Congregation. She also was a life member of Hadassah, and a member of the Ligonier Chamber of Commerce. She graduated from New York University (NYU) as a speech therapist. She is survived by her husband of 33 years, Robert M. Abrams; two children, Alan J. Abrams of Jersey City, N.J., and Meryle B. Schreiber and husband, Jason, of Cincinnati, Ohio; two grandchildren, Hadas and Avram Schreiber; and two brothers , Charles Sussman of Long Beach, N.Y., and Terry Sussman and wife, Gail, of Oceanside, N.Y. There will be no funeral home visitation. Funeral services will be held Sunday at 1 p.m. in the Congregation Emanu-El Israel, Greensburg, with Rabbi Sara R. Perman officiating. Jay Robert Beer, 38, of Winchester, Ind., formerly of Greensburg, died Tuesday, Sept. 5, 2000. He was born Dec. 27, 1961, in Greensburg, a son of Ted and Kathryn Beer of Winchester, Ind. In addition to his parents, he is survived by five brothers , Alan, Randy, Jerry, Danny and Eric, all of Indiana; a sister, Linda of Greensburg; and nephews and nieces. A memorial service will be held Saturday, Sept. 16, at the Trinity United Methodist Church, Route 711, Stahlstown, at 6 p.m.

Lillian June Blaugher, 83, of Louisville, Ky., formerly of Forest Hills, died Sunday, Sept. 10, 2000, in the Baptist East Hospital, St. Matthews, Ky. She was born June 13, 1917, in Ardara, Pa., a daughter of the late Robert Lambie and Ollie Berkey Walker. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers , Bernard Marden, Robert Lambie Jr. and Berkey Elwin Walker; and three sisters , Doris Faye, Nedra Caroline and Agnes Ruth Walker. She is survived by her husband, Robert Drake Blaugher; her daughter, Nedra June McCloskey of North Huntingdon; a sister, Elinor Smith of Atascadero, Calif.; four grandchildren, Casey June Clipper, Tandy Petrush, Erin and Kendall McCloskey; and five great-grandchildren, Nicholas, Tylor, Kassidy, Alec and Bradley. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday in the SHIRLEY-KUKICH FUNERAL HOME INC., Clay Pike, Circleville, North Huntington. Rosemarie J. Maiolo Capetillo, 64, died Sept. 13, 2000 in Suburban General Hospital, Bellevue. Born Aug. 14, 1936 in Pittsburgh, she was the late daughter of Dominic and Rose Poerio Maiolo. Mrs. Capetillo was retired draperies sales associate for Sears. She was a member of St. Teresa of Avila Roman Catholic Church, Ross. Survivors include her husband, Samuel A. Capetillo; a son, Frank A. Capetillo of Akron, Ohio; a daughter, Theresa A. Ciccone of Squirrel Hill; three brothers , Russ Maiolo of McCandless and Frank Maiolo and Anthony Maiolo, both of Ross; a sister, Josephine Braunstein of East Liverpool, Ohio; a granddaughter, Kimberly Capetillo of New Kensington; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Michael A. Capetillo; a sister, Elia Miller; and a brother, Dominic Maiolo. Lucy (McElhaney) Caro, 78, of Coraopolis, died Tuesday, Sept. 12, 2000. She was the wife of the late Frank Caro; mother of Richard of Center Twp., Ron of Pittsburgh and Patsy of Fairmont, W.Va.; and sister of May McElhaney Vater of South Hills, John McElhaney of McKees Rocks and the late Kitty Juba, Roseanna Murry and Bernard "Petey" McElhaney. Also survived by four grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Friends will be received from 2 to 9 p.m. Friday in the ANTHONY J.
