Elizabeth Mary Bertrand, 85, of Mt. Pleasant, formerly of Hatboro, went to her eternal rest Monday, Sept. 11, 2000, at the DeWitt Personal Care Home, Connellsville. She was born Oct. 3, 1914, in Mt. Pleasant Township (Hecla), a daughter of the late Andrew and Elizabeth Janesko Blanda. She was a member of several senior citizens groups, a member of the St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church, Horsham, Pa., and attended the Bridgeport Free Methodist Church. Prior to retirement, she was employed for 25 years manufacturing transistors. She is the beloved aunt of Ramona Pasko, Mary Miller, Evelyn Kuhn, Lillian King, Dorothy Kuhn, Linda King, William, Carl, Curtis, Paul, Robert and John King, and Robert Brosky; and several great-nieces and great-nephews and great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Howard G. Bertrand, Aug. 26, 1991; three sisters , Margaret Previty, Mary Elizabeth King and Helen Brosky; and five brothers , John, Francis, Andrew, Steve and Robert Blanda. She was the last surviving member of her family. Friends will be received in the EUGENE G. SALOOM FUNERAL HOME INC., Main Street, Mt. Pleasant, Wednesday from 2 to 8 p.m., at which time her funeral service will be held, with the Rev. Dean Griffiths officiating. Interment will be held Thursday at 1 p.m. in the St. John Neumann Cemetery, Chalfont (Bucks County).

Lillian June Blaugher, 83, of Louisville, Ky., formerly of Forest Hills, died Sunday, Sept. 10, 2000, in the Baptist East Hospital, St. Matthews, Ky. She was born June 13, 1917, in Ardara, Pa., a daughter of the late Robert Lambie and Ollie Berkey Walker. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers , Bernard Marden, Robert Lambie Jr. and Berkey Elwin Walker; and three sisters , Doris Faye, Nedra Caroline and Agnes Ruth Walker. She is survived by her husband, Robert Drake Blaugher; her daughter, Nedra June McCloskey of North Huntingdon; a sister, Elinor Smith of Atascadero, Calif.; four grandchildren, Casey June Clipper, Tandy Petrush, Erin and Kendall McCloskey; and five great-grandchildren, Nicholas, Tylor, Kassidy, Alec and Bradley. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday in the SHIRLEY-KUKICH FUNERAL HOME INC., Clay Pike, Circleville, North Huntington. A funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in the funeral home chapel with Father Larry Knotts officiating, followed by interment in Churchill Cemetery, Turtle Creek.

Caroline Betty Burkholder, 71, of Belle Vernon, Rostraver Township, died Tuesday, Sept. 12, 2000, in Mon Valley Hospital Inc. She was born Oct. 10, 1928, in Connellsville, a daughter of the late Carl V. and Myrtle Mae (Roebuck) Schroyer. Mrs. Burkholder was a homemaker, and a member of the Fells United Methodist Church, Rostraver Township. She is survived by her husband, Harold Joseph Burkholder; two sons and daughters -in-law, Gregory A. and Joan Burkholder of Belle Vernon and Douglas W. and Darcie Burkholder of McMurray; a daughter and son-in-law, Sharon and George Kowalchuck of Rostraver Township; three brothers and two sisters -in-law, John Schroyer of Connellsville, George and Vivian Schroyer of South Connellsville and Carl and Evelyn Schroyer of South Connellsville; four sisters and three brothers -in-law, Terry King of Normalville, June and Ray Mathias of Dawson, Virginia and Ken Wiltrout of Wooddale and JoAnn and Don Caldwell of Wooddale; and seven grandchildren, James R. Burkholder, Daniel A. Burkholder, Brandon M. Burkholder, Jared J. Burkholder, Devon L. Burkholder, Michael J. Kowalchuck and Rebecca Mae Kowalchuck. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Rebecca Mae Burkholder on Oct. 13, 1974; and a sister, Mary Miller. Dolores Richards Dunmire, 66, of Saltsburg, died Monday, Sept. 11, 2000, in Latrobe Area Hospital. Born Aug. 25, 1934, in Loyalhanna Township, she was the daughter of the late Arthur and Dorothy Steele Richards. A resident of the Saltsburg area all her life, she was employed as housekeeper for the headmaster at the Kiski Prep School in Saltsburg. She was a member of the Slickville Presbyterian Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers , Alfred and Robert Richards. She is survived by her husband, Richard "Cy" Dunmire; two daughters , Donna Kough of Greensburg and Tracy Stevenson of Delmont; three grandchildren; and a brother, Glenn Richards of Nowrytown. Friends will be received Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the CURRAN FUNERAL HOME, 701 Salt St. in Saltsburg, where services will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. A.D. Audrey Ruth Gilmour Errett, 71, of Greensburg RD6, died Sunday, Sept. 10, 2000. She was a self-employed Certified Home Health Aide for 25 years, caring for the elderly, especially hospice. She was born June 22, 1929, in Penn Township, Allegheny County, a daughter of the late Halsey Burdette and Ruth Nevada Kintigh Gilmour. She graduated from Jeannette High School in 1947. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Ronald Weddell Errett; and a brother, Deane H. Gilmour. She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Homer R. Errett; three sons , Ray Wesley Errett of Erie, Richard William and his spouse, Renee DiDonato Errett, of Greensburg RD6 and Robert Wayde and his spouse, Pamella Pastore Errett, of Greensburg; two granddaughters, Juniper L. and her husband, David Bramhall, in Germany, and Hannah Jeanne Errett of Meadville; two great-grandchildren, Baily Ann and J. Michael Bramhall; two brothers , Alfred E.C. Gilmour and his wife, MaryAnn, of Santa Rosa, Calif., and Robert Gilmour of Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; and many nieces and nephews, all of whom she loved dearly. She was a member of Harrold Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, Greensburg, and previously taught Sunday school and sang alto in the choir. She was a past Royal Matron and currently Prelate of Jeannette Court #25, Order of the Amaranth; Past Worthy Matron and currently Esther of Jeannette Chapter 69, Order of the Eastern Star; and a Past High Priestess and currently Queen of Westmoreland Shrine 25, Greensburg. She also was a past president of the Thiel College Women's Club, Republican Women's Club and the Fort Allen VFD Auxiliary. She was Judge of Elections for the Middletown precinct and superintendent of the Vegetable Room at the Harrold Fair, both for over 30 years. Next to her love of family she was active with the Boy Scouts of America for over 40 years in many capacities. As a Den mother at Brush Creek and Harrolds; trainer, Pow Wows (as puppet lady), and in Boy Scouting she served as committeeman of Troop 465, District and Council Committees and Merit Badges, having counciled nearly 300 badges, mostly the Citizenship group. She worked with the religious growth programs for all faiths, was vice-president of the regional Lutheran Association of Scouters and president of the local association. Also the Subcommittee on Scouting of the Southwestern Pennsylvania Synod of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of America, and was a recipient of the Lutheran Lamb, the Silver Beaver, and St. George awards by the Greensburg Diocese. She was "Mama Owl" as a Woodbadger, served as a Commissioner with Arrowhead, Brotherhood Order of the Arrow, and conducted the Protestant worship for the Greensburg Diocese annual Retreatoree for many years. Served on staff at two national Jamborees at Fort A.P. Hill, Va. Took training at Philmont Scout Ranch in New Mexico, and Protestant Committee of W/F Council B.S.A., and served as staff at the annual spring retreat at Jumonville. Friends were received Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m. and will be received Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the MASON-GELDER FUNERAL HOME, 201 N. First St., Jeannette. Audrey will lie in state in Harrold Zion Lutheran Church Thursday from 10 to 11 a.m., at which time service will be held with the Rev. Robert A. Free officiating. Interment will follow in Harrold Zion Lutheran Cemetery. Although she loved flowers inside and outside her home, it was her wish that in lieu of flowers contributions be made to the Chaplancy Fund of the Westmoreland-Fayette Council, B.S.A., or a charity of one's choice. On Wednesday, the following groups will hold services in the funeral home: O.E.S. #69 at 7 p.m., Amaranth #25 at 7:15 p.m., White Shrine at 7:30 p.m. and Scouts at 8 p.m.

Anthony Gallo, 66, of Penn Hills, died Tuesday, Sept. 12, 2000. She was the beloved husband of Margaret "Peggy" Nier Gallo of 45 years; dear Father of Anthony "Tony" Gallo of North Huntingdon, Ginny Young of Verona and Dale Gallo of Butler; beloved son of Virginia Gallo of Pittsburgh and the late Antonio Gallo; brother of Angelo Pennacchia of Verona and the late Marie Laush. She is also survived by nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Richard H. Gessinger, 71, of Penn, died Sunday, Sept. 10, 2000, in his home. He was born Jan. 24, 1929, in Pitcairn, a son of the late William H. and Violet Boyle Gessinger. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Susan Gessinger; and three brothers , Kenneth, Edward and William Gessinger. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Frances Stenson Gessinger; two daughters , Karen and husband, Harry Bussard, of Irwin and Donna and husband, Gary Kerlin, of Jeannette; two brothers , Hank Gessinger of Pitcairn and Donald Gessinger of Level Green; a sister, Anna Mae Rush of Harrison City; and six grandchildren, John, Michael and David Bussard and Jennifer, Gary and Daniel Kerlin. Visitation with family Thursday from 10 to 11 a.m., at which time a memorial service will be held in the JAMES E. LINDSAY FUNERAL HOME INC., Main Street, Harrison City, with the Rev. Theodore Hinkelman, 77, of North Huntingdon, died Tuesday, Sept. 12, 2000, in the Jeannette District Memorial Hospital. He was born Nov. 21, 1922, in East Pittsburgh, a son of the late Albert and Wanda Winter Hinkelman. He was a retired industrial engineer for Westinghouse Electric Corp., East Pittsburgh, retiring in 1981 after 40 years of service, and was a member of the Westinghouse Clerks Association. He was a member and elder of the First Presbyterian Church, Irwin; a veteran of World War II, serving with the U.S. Marines; a member of the VFW Post 781, Irwin; American Legion Post 344, Jeannette; and AMVETS Post 278. He was a member of the F.O.E. Aerie 1671, Irwin; a 50-year member of L.O.O.M. Lodge 236, Irwin; and a member of the Italian Miners Society. He was a member of Shidle Lodge 601 Free and Accepted Masons; the Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite, Valley of Pittsburgh; and the Syria Temple. He was also a social member of the Hartford Heights and Fairmont-Hahntown volunteer fire departments. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Rita Zollner Hinkelman; a sister, Elsie Corletti; and three brothers , Otto, Bernard and Richard Hinkelman. He is survived by his wife, Beulah Faust Coffman Truver Hinkelman; three sons , Theodore W. Hinkelman, Scott R. Hinkelman and his wife, Pandi, of Georgetown, Texas , and Eric A. Hinkelman and his wife, Connie, of Irwin; two grandchildren, Miranda and Derek Hinkelman; a brother, Frederick Hinkelman of Catonsville, Md.; and nieces and nephews. Robert F. "Bob" Hoover, 70, of Hutchinson, died Sunday, Sept. 10, 2000, at the Jeannette District Memorial Hospital. He was born Jan. 23, 1930, in Garrett, a son of the late Frank E. and Dorothy E. (Sterner) Hoover. Bob was a U.S. Army veteran, having served during the Korean conflict. Prior to retirement, he was employed as a truck driver with B&P Motor Express, Irwin, with 21 years of service. He was a member of Teamsters Local #30 and the Herminie United Methodist Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Robert Dean Hoover, in 1973. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Audrey (Yutzy) Hoover; a son, Timothy Hoover and his wife, Becky, of Greensburg; a daughter, Mrs. Nadene "Sue" and her husband, Terry Decker, of North Carolina; four grandchildren, Malia, Jessica, Tarin and Lakin. Bob also will be sadly missed by his "little buddy," Mitzy. Friends will be received at the JOSEPH W.
