Victor Petri
Irwin

Victor Petri, 88, of Irwin (Herminie #2), died Monday, Sept. 11, 2000, at the Integrated Health Services, Greensburg facility. He was born Feb. 12, 1912, in Herminie #2, a son of the late Anthony Sr. and Frances (Danavich) Petri. Mr. Petri was a graduate of the Sewickley Township High School class of 1930. Prior to retirement, he was employed at Robertshaw Controls, Youngwood, with 32 years of service. He also served as pastor-minister at various local churches for many years, until his retirement in April 1972. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant son, Victor Carlton Petri; and an infant sister, Mary Petri. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Olada "Skip" (Blackwell) Petri; two daughters , Mrs. Vicki Lavella and her husband, Dave, of Irwin and Bonnie Petri at home; three grandchildren, Jim and Mike Lavella and Dana Richards; two great-grandchildren, Avery Lavella and Kayla Richards; a brother, Anthony "Shack" and his wife, Nettie Petri, of Devine, Texas ; a sister, Christina Kleid of Kentucky; and a number of nieces and nephews. Friends will be received in the JOSEPH W. NICKELS FUNERAL HOME INC., Herminie, Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral service will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. in the funeral home with Pastor Roy Allison officiating. Interment will follow in Twin Valley Memorial Park, Delmont. In lieu of flowers, the Petri family suggests memorials to Gideon Bible International, Westmoreland North Camp, Lower Burrell, PA 15068.

Kathryn A. Yezek Pravlik
East Huntingdon Township

Kathryn A. Yezek Pravlik, 77, of East Huntingdon Township, Mt. Pleasant, died at the Frick Hospital, Mt. Pleasant, Saturday afternoon, Sept. 9, 2000. Kathryn was born Jan. 10, 1923, in Mt. Pleasant, the daughter of the late William P. Sr. and Minnie Gerhke Yezek. She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Scottdale; was a student of the former East Huntingdon High School; and was a member of the Slovak Club Ladies Auxiliary and the C.S.A., the former Lodge Westmoreland 171. Kathryn was a homemaker and also had a catering service. Her memories will be cherished by her family: daughters , Carol Kauffman and husband, Alton, of Mt. Pleasant and Doris Jean Butts and husband, Kenneth, Connellsville; four grandchildren, Richard Kauffman, Kendra Golden, Kathy Butts and Adam Butts; two great-grandchildren, Jacob Matthew Golden and Jesse Lee Golden; an adoptive grandson, Andrew Buchta; and her brother, William Yezek and wife, Eleanor, of Mt. Pleasant. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Francis "Kayo" Pravlik, on Jan. 31, 1988; and an infant brother, Carl Yezek. Friends were received in the EUGENE G. SALOOM FUNERAL HOME INC., Main Street, Mt. Pleasant, Monday and will be received there Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Her funeral service will be held in the funeral home at 11 a.m. Wednesday with the Rev. Andrew F. Dougherty officiating. Her interment will follow in the Mt. Pleasant Cemetery.

Nick Riznow
Greensburg

Nick Riznow, 78, of Greensburg, died Saturday, Sept. 9, 2000, in the Westmoreland Regional Hospital, Greensburg. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Anna (Dydiw) Riznow; a brother, Charles Riznow; and a son, Niles Riznow. He is survived by a brother, Frank Riznow of Delmont; five sisters , Mary Riznow of Slickville, Estelle Diegel of Glen Burnie, Md., Alice Shaw of Mamont, Ann Claytor of Baltimore, Md., and Sonja and her husband, George Edwards, of Salisbury, Md.; and numerous nieces and nephews. There will be no visitation. Interment service to be private. Arrangements by the JOHN L. BASH FUNERAL HOME, 152 Abbe Place, Delmont, PA 15626.

Audrey L. Ruccio
Darragh

Audrey L. Ruccio, 69, our "precious mother " of Darragh, died Saturday, Sept. 9, 2000, in Jeannette District Memorial Hospital. She was born Feb. 1, 1931, in Havaco, W.Va., a daughter of the late Horace and Reta (Harclerode) Jones. Mrs. Ruccio, Audrey, had just retired in October, 1999, from Jeannette District Memorial Hospital, where she had worked for many years as an R.N. supervisor. She also attended the Word of Life Ministries, Greensburg. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Ruccio, in 1982; and an infant son, Gregory DiBagno. Audrey is survived by two daughters , Mrs. Tona McCallister and her husband, David, and Mrs. Dona Lynn Reinsmith and her husband, Douglas, both of Darragh; and a son, Mr. Paul Ruccio and wife, Margaret, of Darragh; two stepsons, James and George Ruccio; a stepdaughter, Nancy Ruccio; seven grandchildren, Denyel, David, Justin, Aaron, Alexandra, Rachel and Vanessa; a great-grandson, Michael; four stepgrandchildren, Sherry, Jennifer, George and Sarah; a sister, Mrs. Ruby Timblin and husband, Joseph, of Allison Park; a nephew, Kirk Timblin; and a niece, Karen Tyler. She will also be sadly missed by her beloved cat, Maxwell. Friends were received Monday and will be received Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the JOSEPH W. NICKELS FUNERAL HOME INC., Herminie, where a funeral service will be held Wednesday at 10 a.m. with Pastor Thomas A. Walters of the Word of Life Ministries officiating. Interment will follow in Madison Union Cemetery.

Anne Marie Rahne Squires
Wendel

Anne Marie Rahne Squires, of Wendel, died Sunday, Sept. 10, 2000, at home. She was born in Herminie, a daughter of the late John and Meri Gaber Rahne. She was a retired registered nurse at Mercy Hospital, Pittsburgh. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Steven L. Squires, in 1997; three brothers , Emil, Ludwig and John Rahne; and a sister, Mary Schwartz. She is survived by two sons , Stephen J. Squires and his wife, Candace, of Greensburg and Edward W. Squires of Wendel; two grandchildren, Brett and Erin Squires; a sister, Mildred Rahne Briscoe of Wendel; also nieces and nephews. Private viewing and funeral service will be in the WILLIAM SNYDER FUNERAL HOME, 521 Main St., Irwin. Private interment will be in Westmoreland County Memorial Park. Eugene Thomas
Greensburg

Eugene Thomas, 70, of Greensburg, died Sunday, Sept. 10, 2000, in the Integrated Health Services of Greater Pittsburgh, Greensburg. He was born March 7, 1930, in Bovard, a son of Genevieve Thomas Davis of Greensburg. He was a former member of the former Bovard Union Church. Gene was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force, having served during the Korean conflict. He was predeceased by his wife, Ellen Shaw Thomas; and a half brother, Paul Lynch. In addition to his mother , he is survived by two sons , Eugene Thomas Jr. and his wife, Irina, of Jeannette and Joseph P. Thomas of Everson; three grandchildren; and three half-brothers , James Deeds of Bovard, Robert Deeds of Virginia Beach, Va., and Frank Deeds of Raleigh, N.C. Friends will be received at the BARNHART FUNERAL HOME, 505 E. Pittsburgh St., Greensburg, Tuesday from 3 to 5 and 7 to 8:30 p.m., at which time a funeral service will be held in the funeral home with his former pastor, George Detar, officiating. Private interment will take place in Westmoreland County Memorial Park.

Regina B. Turco
Point Marion

Regina B. "Jeannie" Turco, 85, of Point Marion, died Sunday, Sept. 10, 2000, at St. Anne Home in Greensburg, where she had been a resident for the past two years. She was born Oct. 30, 1914, in Stewartstown, W.Va., a daughter of the late William and Anna Prinkey Blosser. She was a member of Point Marion Christian Church, and retired as an inspector at Houze Glass Corp., in Point Marion after 30 years of employment. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Darryl and Rita Turco of Greensburg; three grandchildren, Kimberly Jean Bloom, Vicki Naomi Rich and J.D. Turco, all of Greensburg; and five great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, James Turco Jr., on April 14, 1975; and two brothers , Donald and Lorenz Blosser. Friends will be received at the RICHARD R. HEROD FUNERAL HOME, 501 Morgantown St., Point Marion, Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., and Wednesday in the Point Marion Christian Church from 10 to 11 a.m., the hour of services, with her pastor, Joe Condoluci officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Memorial Park, Point Marion.

Dorothy I. Wagner
Youngwood

Dorothy I. Wagner, 76, of Youngwood, died Sunday, Sept. 10, 2000, in Latrobe Area Hospital. She was born Oct. 2, 1923, in Youngwood, a daughter of the late Arnold and Violet Erwin Overholt. She retired as a tax collector for the Borough of Youngwood after 22 years. She was a member of the New Stanton Assembly of God Church. She is survived by her husband, William C. Wagner; and the following children: P. Jeffrey Long and his wife, Paula, of Columbus, Ohio, Marcia Sue Methven of Anaheim, Calif., Mary Beth Jaber and her husband, George, of Pittsburgh, Jonathan Scott Long and his wife, Jennifer, of Colchester, Conn.; stepson, William Calvin Wagner and his wife, Eileen, of Delmont; stepdaughter, Diane N. Dyky and her husband, Walter, of Westminster, Md.; 14 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; sisters , Hazel Wolfe of Carlisle, Ethel Trout of New Stanton and Grace Watson of Palm Harbor, Fla.; brother, Brinton Overholt of Clearwater, Fla.; and a number of nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Paul E. Long; and brothers , Harry Overholt and Clayton Overholt. Friends were received at the C. RICHARD McCAULEY FUNERAL HOME INC., Youngwood, Monday and will be received there Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Service will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. in the New Stanton Assembly of God Church with the Rev. Robert S. Fisher officiating. Interment to follow in Hillview Cemetery. The family suggests memorial contributions to the Assembly of God Church, New Stanton.

Alice H. Yingling Wawrzyniak
Scottdale

Alice H. Yingling Wawrzyniak, 75, of Scottdale, died Saturday evening, Sept. 9, 2000, in Frick Hospital, Mt. Pleasant. Alice's family will receive friends Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and Wednesday from 10 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. at the FRANK KAPR FUNERAL HOME INC., 417 W. Pittsburgh St., Scottdale, where her funeral service will begin at 1 p.m. with her pastor, the Rev. Andrew F. Dougherty III, officiating. Interment will follow in Green Ridge Memorial Park, Pennsville.

William J. Wilson
Emsworth

William J. Wilson, 73, died Sunday, Sept. 10, 2000, in his home in Emsworth. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Antionette M. Wilson. Survivors include his loving children, Lynn Warne and her husband, David, of Binghamton, N.Y., Mark Wilson and Michael Wilson, both of Emsworth; a granddaughter, Kathryn Warne of Wilmington, N.C.; and two brothers and three sisters . Mr. Wilson retired in 1982 as traffic manager for the Sterling Group of Reichold Chemical in Haysville. He had been a 30 year employee of Allis Chalmers. During World War II, he served with the U.S. Navy in the Pacific Theater. Friends invited from 9 to 11 a.m. Wednesday in the ORION C. PINKERTON FUNERAL HOME, INC., A Golden Rule Member Firm, 1014 California Avenue, Avalon (North Boros). Private services and interment will be in Christ Our Redeemer (North Side) Catholic Cemetery.

Fred Berkoben, 92, of Wilmerding, died Monday, Sept. 11, 2000. He was the son of the late Charles and Anna (Domain) Berkoben. Beloved husband of 54 years of Margaret (Drylie) Berkoben. Father of Joanne (Edward) Conrad and Louise (Thomas) Luckinich; grandfather of Michelle (John O'Donnell) Conrad, Christina Conrad, Stephanie (Chad) Burleson and Maria Luckinich. Brother of Minna Hockensmith, Hilda East and the late Anne Moritz, Helen Allen, Emma Kaefer, Charles, Edward, William and Martha Berkoben. Also numerous nieces and nephews. Friends received from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday in ALFIERI FUNERAL HOME, INC., 201 Marguerite Avenue, Wilmerding. Services at 11 a.m. Thursday in the funeral home.
