John D. Buchanan, 58, of Baldwin, died Dec. 17, 2008.
He was the husband of Barbara Buchanan; father of Chris (Katie), Casey and Mary Buchanan; grandfather of Erin Buchanan; and brother of Jim (Rickie), Ron (Sandy), Bob (Sandy) and the late Chuck (Barbara) Buchanan.
Arrangements were made by the John F. Slater Funeral Home Inc., Brentwood.

Dennis Goodworth

Dennis A. Goodworth, 58, of Baldwin Borough, died Dec. 7, 2008.
He was the brother of Ron (Barbara) Goodworth of Rhode Island; and uncle of Jason and Daniel Goodworth.
Mr. Goodworth was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Mildred (Minnich) Goodworth; and a brother, Tom Goodworth. There was no visitation.
A memorial service was held at the Cieslak & Tatko Funeral Home Inc., Brentwood.
Mary McNaughton

Mary J. (Carson) McNaughton, 82, of Baldwin Borough, died Dec. 11, 2008.
She was the mother of Tom (Nancy) McNaughton, Donna McNaughton, Carol (Gary) Miller, Terry (Bob) Ritz and Mark (Kathy) McNaughton; grandmother of Michael, Kelly, Steven, Amber, Shawn, Justin, Candice and Nicole;and great-grandmother of Zachary.
Arrangements were handled by the Cieslak and Tatko Funeral Home Inc., Brentwood.A memorial Mass was celebrated in St. Albert the Great Church, Baldwin.
Regis A. Weber

Regis A. Weber, 55, of Mt. Lebanon, died Saturday, March 24, 2012. He was the husband of Carolyn (Vilsack) Weber; father of Andrew "A.J." Weber; son of the late Richard and Lillian (Gajewski) Weber; brother of Richard (Ellie), Robert (Karen), Ron (Crystal), Raymond (Heidi) and Ralph Weber; also survived by his five nieces. Regis was employed by Vilsack Auto Service for more than 30 years. Friends were received yesterday, Wed-nesday, at the JOHN F. SLATER FUNERAL HOME INC., 412-881-4100, 4201 Brownsville Road, Brentwood, PA 15227. Funeral prayer at 9 a.m. today, Thursday. Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Thomas More Church.
Frances Woodruff
Served on Baldwin-Whitehall School Board
Frances M. Woodruff, of Baldwin Borough, died Monday, March 28, 2011.
Mrs. Woodruff served on the Baldwin/Whitehall School Board for more than 25 years, and was its representative to the Allegheny Intermediate Unit.
She was a longtime member of Baldwin Community United Methodist Church and a member of the Order of the Eastern Star.
She is survived by her children, David Bruce (Kathy) Woodruff and Barbara Woodruff (Kenton) Kelly of Westerville, Ohio; and grandchildren, Kate and Kasey Woodruff.
She was preceded in death by her husband, David L. Woodruff.
Services were private. Arrangements were handled by the John F. Slater Funeral Home Inc., Brentwood.

Bernard Nowak
Retired Postal Service employee
Bernard A. Nowak, 86, formerly of Baldwin Borough, died Wednesday, March 30, 2011, at home in Warrenton, Va.
Mr. Nowak was born and raised in the South Side neighborhood of Pittsburgh. After World War II, he lived in Baldwin Borough until 2008.
He enlisted in the U.S. Navy in 1942 and served as a Navy Seabee, seeing action in the African, Pacific and European theatres. His Seabee unit was instrumental in constructing the Rhino Barges used in the D-Day landings at Normandy.
During his service for the 28th Navy Seabees, Mr. Nowak earned several campaign medals including the World War II Victory Medal. He was honorably discharged in 1945.
Mr. Nowak worked for the U.S. Postal Service in Pleasant Hills and retired in January 1982. He also was a longstanding member of the Polish Falcons.
He is survived by his children, Christine (Tom) Hazel, Robert (Kathy) Nowak, Cynthia (Mike) Brunn, Wayne (Helen) Nowak and Catherine (Chuck) Martin; grandchildren, Jennifer (Joseph) Scheid, Elizabeth (Wayne) Phillips, Julie (Mike) Simms, Nick, Josh and Alex Nowak, and Kyle and Renee Martin; great-grandchildren, Abbey and Cole Phillips; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Dolores Wroblewski Nowak, of 61 years; his parents, Andrew and Catherine Nowak, 13 brothers and sisters.
Friends were received at the Cieslak & Tatko Funeral Home Inc., Brentwood. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at Nativity Church.

Christine M. "Chris" Bodell, of Brentwood, died Friday, March 25, 2011, after a battle with cancer.
Mrs. Bodell worked for 32 years as a teller with PNC Bank, recently at the Caste Village branch.
She was a member of St. Sylvester Church and a founding member of the church bingo.
She is survived by her husband, Donald R. Bodell, of 24 years; her children, Lauren and Justin Bodell and Jasmine and Boe; her parents, Ed and Joan Breitigan; and siblings, Edward (Evey) Breitigan and Pam Conroy.

She is survived by her daughter, Judith (Frank) Boyd; grandchildren, Stacey (John) Graves and Frank (Dina) Boyd Jr.; a twin sister, Julia Trischler; great-grandchildren, Alyson, Megan, Mikala and Kelsi; and nephews, Philip and Mark Trischler.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Lipinski; brothers, Angelo, Tom, Nick and Michael Gallo and Tony LaCapra; a sister, Rose Antczack; and companion, Michael Kadasch.
