Elizabeth Iams

Elizabeth "Betty" (Hughes) (Lovasz) Iams of Bethel Park, the beloved wife of John Lovasz, died Monday, July 16, 2007, at the age of 88.
Mrs. Iams was the mother of Richard (Gail) Iams Jr. and Janet (Tom) Wertz; stepmother of John E. (Mary Ann) Lovasz and Catherine (Lee) Fedner and the late Kenneth (Linda) Lovasz; grandmother of David Wertz, Krystal Spear, Daniel Wertz, Dawn Iams, Leanne Lovasz, John Lovasz, Victoria Hale, Michael Fedner and Joshua Fedner; aunt of Karen Yeckell and John Hughes IV.
Mrs. Iams was born on Nov. 4, 1918, to the late Ruth (Sumney) and John Hughes. She was also preceded in death by a brother, John Hughes III.
Mrs. Iams grew up in Youngstown, Ohio, and Dormont. She attended Western College for Women, graduating from the University of Pittsburgh and later earned a master's degree in library science from Duquesne University.
Prior to her retirement, Mrs. Iams served as the librarian at Waynesburg Central High School for more than a decade. She was a member of Christ Methodist Church for more than 40 years.

Interment was in Jefferson Memorial Park.

Edward Seman
Army Signal Corps veteran
Edward A. Seman of Munhall, formerly of West Mifflin and Duquesne, died Monday, July 16, 2007, at the age of 78.
Mr. Seman was the husband of Carolyn (Greaves) Seman; father of Andrew; brother of Magdalene Lepako of Florida and the late Robert Seman of North Huntingdon; son of the late John and Mary (Daychak) Seman.
Mr. Seman retired from U.S. Steel Duquesne Works Production Planning after 37 years of service and was a veteran of the U.S. Army Signal Corps. He is a 1946 graduate of Duquesne High School.

Marlene (Lieb) Bauer of Baldwin died Thursday, July 19, 2007, at the age of 72.
Mrs. Bauer was the wife of the late Paul Bauer; mother of David, Thomas, Paula McDine and Roberta Fazio; and grandmother of five.

Viola J. Bishoff of West Mifflin died Monday, July 23, 2007, at the age of 78.
Mrs. Bishoff was the loving wife of Clarence; mother of Clarence (Toni Marie), Donna (William) Bratton and George Bishoff; sister of David Lawhead, Donald Lawhead and Leona Montgomery; daughter of the late Howard and Eva Lawhead; also had many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Christopher Pahel

Christopher Pahel of North Strabane Township, formerly of Brentwood, died Friday, July 20, 2007, at the age of 57.
Mr. Pahel was the beloved husband of Cathy; loving father of Kelly and Jennifer; dear brother of David, Mary, Barbara and Patricia; uncle of many nieces and nephews.

Ann M. Johnson of Jefferson Hills died Saturday, July 21, 2007, at the age of 95.
Mrs. Johnson was the wife of the late Richard; loving mother of Richard Jr. and Donald Johnson, Diane (Edward) Gildernew, Kenneth (Carole) Johnson, Karen (Robert) Flack, Larry and the late Robert Johnson; proud grandmother of 19; and great-grandmother of 28.

Dorothy Clawson

Dorothy Clawson died Sunday, July 22, 2007, at the age of 81.
Mrs. Clawson was born to the Rev. Harry and Eva (Patton) Clawson on Jan. 18, 1926, in Mt. Pleasant. She was the youngest of four daughters.
In 1947, Mrs. Clawson graduated from the Frick Memorial School of Nursing and for 38 years she worked at Magee and St. Francis hospitals. She was an active member of the First Presbyterian Church in Pittsburgh for 54 years.
Mrs. Clawson was preceded in death by her mother and father, her three sisters -- Mary, Lucy Jane and Mabel -- and by her good friend, Dr. Irene Shank.

Stanley Odoski

Stanley A. Odoski Sr. of West Mifflin died Friday, July 20, 2007, at the age of 83.
Mr. Odoski was the beloved husband of Catherine (Tachoir) for 58 years; loving father of Stanley Jr. (Marta), David (Kim Papania) Odoski, Cynthia (James) Boot, Deborah (Donald) Pungitore, Linda (Robert) Addoms and Jill (David) Gray; grandfather of 11; great-grandfather of six; brother of Agnes Wilburn, Rita Lonzo, William, John, Thomas and the late Norman, Robert and Richard Odoski and Jean Livengood; son of the late John and Stella Odoski.
Mr. Odoski was a retired Port Authority maintenance supervisor and the owner of Stan's Mobile Grocery.
