Raymond E. Albrecht Sr.

Raymond E. Albrecht Sr., 75, died Saturday, Sept. 2, 2000, at his home in McCandless. He was born June , 1925, in Germany, son of Ludwig and Hedwig Albrecht. He was a retired engineer for Alcoa. Surviving is his wife, Joan Sasse Albrecht; children, Karen Hasara of Ben Avon, Raymond E. Albrecht Jr. of McCandless, Robert L. Albrecht of Ben Avon; a sister, Lillian Polifroni of the Pocono Mountains, Pa.; two grandchildren, James and Kimberly Hasara. Mr. Albrecht was a member of the 113th Battalion of the Seabees during World War II, and a 1st Lieutenant in the Air Force during the Korean War. Friends will be received on Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at SIMONS FUNERAL HOME, INC., 7720 Perry Highway, Ross. www.simonsfuneralhomeinc.com. Funeral mass will be 10:00 a.m. Tuesday in the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Emsworth.

Evelyn Amond
Derry

Evelyn Amond, 77, of Derry, died Saturday, Sept. 2, 2000, in IHS at Mountain View, Unity Township. She was born Aug. 12, 1923, in Saltsburg, a daughter of the late David and Lottie Pearl McMasters Menser Kellerman. She was a member of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church of Latrobe, where she was a Simeanna visitor and helped with noonday lunches at the church. She was a loving mother and grandmother. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Harry Russell "Russ" Amond Sr., on Sept. 20, 1998; a son, John Michael Amond; a sister, Glyndora Nolder; and five brothers , William Menser, Joseph, Don, George and John Kellerman. She is survived by her daughter, Mrs. Paul (Kathleen C.) Burd of New Florence RD1; four sons , Harry Russell "Russ" Amond Jr. and his wife, Marcia, of Derry, David L. Amond and his wife, Kathleen, of New Alexandria RD1, Charles E. Amond and his wife, Lugene, of Derry and Ronald K. Amond and his wife, Sue, of Latrobe; 11 grandchildren; a great-grandson; three sisters , Betty Bertsch of Florida, Mrs. Ray (Pearl) Karasack of Latrobe and Mrs. Frank (Jean) Karasack of Latrobe; and several nieces and nephews. Friends received from 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday in the McCABE FUNERAL HOME, 300 W. Third Ave., Derry. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday at 11 a.m. in Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, Latrobe, with the church pastors officiating. Interment will follow in Unity Cemetery, Latrobe.

MaryAnn (Holler) Bobik
Monroeville

MaryAnn (Holler) Bobik, of 1350 Cavitt Road, Monroeville, beloved wife, mother , and grandmother, died Friday, Sept. 1, 2000, at her home, after a long bout with cancer. She was 57 years old. She is survived by her husband, Andrew J. (Bo) Bobik, Sr.; four sons , Andrew J. Bobik Jr., Paul Bobik and his wife Kelly, Thomas Bobik and his wife Ann, and Daniel Bobik; three daughters , Ann Bednar and her husband Al, Amy Bobik and Mary Bobik; grandchildren, April and Andrew III Bobik, Heather and Kayla Laugherty, Zach and Tyler Bobik, Thomas Jr., and Mary Bobik, and Bridgett Ann Bednar; nieces and nephews; her mother , Eileen Holler; her brothers , Regis, Larry, and Jerry Holler; her sisters , Karen Buchner and Jean Holler. Friends and family received from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Monday Sept. 4, and 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Tuesday Sept. 5 in GENE VAN HORN FUNERAL HOME, MONROEVILLE, Beatty Road and Route 48 North, a Golden Rule Member Firm, where a Parastas service will be Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. Divine Liturgy in St. John the Baptist Cathedral, 210 Greentree Road, in Munhall Wednesday, Sept. 6, at 10:30 a.m. Interment in St. John the Baptist Cathedral Cemetery.

Jeanne Frances Carroll Botti
Larimer

Jeanne "Bootsie" Frances Carroll Botti, 74, of Larimer, died Saturday, Sept. 2, 2000, at Jeannette District Memorial Hospital. She was born Nov. 27, 1925, in Pittsburgh, a daughter of the late William F. and Hazel Reed Carroll. She was a retired employee of the Westmoreland County Food Bank of Greensburg and was also an employee of Johnston The Florist, Irwin, where she was affectionately known as "Granny." She was also active in the Norwin YMCA and Girl Scouts, a volunteer at the Norwin Public Library, and an avid gardener and quilter. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, William Carroll. She is survived by five children, Nancy Blinkhorn of Larimer, Jeanne Valot of North Huntingdon, Victoria Grubbs of North Huntingdon, Susan Richardson of St. Charles, Mo., and Frank Weckerle III of Scotts Valley, Calif. She was also "Grandma Sunshine" to Bob, Tim, Nancy, Katie, Michelle, Tom, Claire, Leslie, Tracy, Michael, Frank, Justin, Lynette, Melissa, Felicia, Alexandria, Killian, Rachael and Kaytlynn. Also surviving are three sisters , Helene Tobin of Pittsburgh, Vivian Carroll of Penn Hills and Kate Nowalk of Greensburg; a brother, John Carroll of Pittsburgh; and numerous nieces and nephews. Friends received at the WILLIAM SNYDER FUNERAL HOME, 521 Main St., Irwin, Sunday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated Tuesday at 10 a.m. at the Church of the Immaculate Conception, Irwin. Interment will follow at Irwin Union Cemetery.

Thomas J. Carlin
Ross

Thomas J. Carlin, age 75, died on Sunday, Sept. 3, 2000 in UPMC St. Margaret. Born May 4, 1925 in Scottdale, Pa., the son of the late Thomas A. and Lorraine Amend Carlin. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II. Mr. Carlin was a member of St. Sebastian, Ross. He was a member of North Park Sportsmens Club and Allegheny Country Rifle Club. Mr. Carlin was employed as an automotive mechanic at Burgunder Dodge, Bridgeville. He was also employed at Brant Oldsmobile and North Hills Chrysler-Plymouth Dealers, and was employed as a service manager at North Hills Lincoln Mercury. He survived by his wife of 52 years, Elizabeth J. "Betty" Sutterlin Carlin; one daughter, Sharon A. McCort of Shaler; two sons , Gary T. Carlin of Irvine, Calif., and James R. Carlin of Shaler; six grandchildren, James T. and Jennifer A. McCort, Amy E., Chase T., Cassie N., and James P. Carlin; one great-grandson, James L. Fries; mother -in-law, Louise Wunderley Sutterlin; two sisters , Lorraine Cieslak of Richland, Regina Laughlin of Alabama; two brothers , William Carlin of Avalon, and George Carlin of Sewickley. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Rosemary Aul; and a brother, James Carlin. Friends received 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday in H.P. BRANDT FUNERAL HOME INC., 1032 Perry Highway, Ross. Mass of Christian Burial Wedneday, Sept. 6, at 10 a.m. St. Sebastian Church, Siebert Rd., Ross. Interment in Allegheny County Memorial Park, McCandless.

Olga Cherep, 88, of the St. Pius Residence, Brookline, on Friday, Sept. 1, 2000. Daughter of the late Frank and Mary Cherep. Survived by a sister-in-law, Mary Ann Cherep of Munhall. Also nieces and nephews. Friends will be received Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the GEORGE IRVIN GREEN FUNERAL HOME INC., 3511 Main St., Munhall, where a blessing service will be held Wednesday at 10 a.m. Interment St. Nicholas Cemetery.

Jeannie D. (Cope) Cox

Jeannie D. (Cope) Cox, 59, of Greensburg RD6, died Sunday, Sept. 3, 2000, in the Westmoreland Regional Hospital, Greensburg. She was born Oct. 30, 1940, in Jeannette, a daughter of the late Charles F. and Fern L. Miller Cope. She had been employed as an accounts receivable clerk for R.L. Smeltz Oil Inc. of Greensburg. She was a member of Harrold Zion Lutheran Church, Greensburg RD6, and had been a Sunday school teacher in the church for 42 years; a Girl Scout leader, Boy Scout leader, a member of the Order of the Rainbow Girls, Jeannette, a former Hempfield band parent, and was a "cookie mom" for Commandants Own of the U.S. Marines Drum and Bugle Corps of Washington , D.C., for 14 years. She is survived by a son, John C. and his wife, Jan A. Cox, of Bowie, Md.; a daughter, Jamye L. Timms and her husband, Richard Sullivan, of Mt. Pleasant; a grandson, D.J. Timms of Mt. Pleasant; a brother, John C.F. and his wife, Carol Cope, of Greensburg RD6; a niece and nephews, Eric and Chad Cope and Diane Canobbio; and great-nieces, Brittany and Carrie Canobbio. Friends will be received at the BACHA FUNERAL HOME INC., 516 Stanton at Green streets, Greensburg, Monday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Tuesday from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Additional visitation will be held Wednesday in Harrold Zion Lutheran Church, from 10 until 10:45 a.m. Funeral services will follow at 11 a.m. in the church with the Rev. Robert A. Free officiating. Interment Harrold Zion Lutheran Cemetery, Hempfield Township. Ethel P. Cush, 79, of Elizabeth Township, on Saturday, Sept. 2, 2000, at her residence. She was born June 4, 1921, in McKeesport, a daughter of the late Michael and Mary Boca Sivak. She was the wife of the late Carmen J. Cush. She is survived by two sons , John Coup (Debbie), of Elizabeth Township, with whom she resided and Larry Calp (Paula) of Houston, Texas ; a daughter, Lois Kopasko (Jim) of North Huntingdon; a stepdaughter, Lucille Leonard of Warner Robbins, Ga.; 15 grandchildren; great-grandchildren; two brothers , George Sivak of McKeesport and Vincent Sivak of Rochester, N.Y.; and two sisters , Dorothy Strefeler of Lockport, N.Y., and Mary Spearnak of McKeesport. She was a member of St. Mary Czestochowa Church and its Rosary Society. Visitation will be at STRIFFLERS' OF WHITE OAK, Monday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday at 9 a.m. in St. Mary Czestochowa Church with the Very Rev. Francis Lachowicz as celebrant. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery, Port Vue.

Donald R. Fenton
Latrobe

Donald R. Fenton, 69, of Latrobe, died Sunday, Sept. 3, 2000, in Latrobe Area Hospital. He was born Feb. 15, 1931, in Latrobe, a son of the late Matthew Russell and Helen M. (Reed) Fenton. Donald was a 1949 graduate of Latrobe High School and then graduated from Monmouth College, Monmouth, Ill. Prior to retirement, he was the owner and operator of the former Fenton Electric Company and was also employed by the Latrobe Municipal Authority. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and was a member of the United Presbyterian Church, Latrobe. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, M. Robert Fenton; and a sister, Marcia Cassol. He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Patricia (DeLuca) Fenton; five children, D. Gregory Fenton and wife, Kalley, of Latrobe, Dianne M. Adam and husband, Gary, of Alpharetta, Ga., Maj. Matthew Russell Fenton II, U.S.A.F., and wife, Margaret, of Yorktown, Va., Neal Reed Fenton and wife, Sandra, of Latrobe and W. Keith Fenton and wife, Lisa, of Indianapolis, Ind.; 11 grandchildren, Corey, Emily, Donald James, Ryan, Erin, Jack, and Donald Reed Fenton II, and Brian, Colleen, Kevin, and Megan Adam; a brother, James R. Fenton and wife, Gloria, of Latrobe; a sister, Kathleen Wittenmaier of Latrobe; and a number of nieces and nephews. Friends will be received Monday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the HARTMAN-GRAZIANO FUNERAL HOME INC., 1500 Ligonier St., Latrobe. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. in the United Presbyterian Church, Latrobe, with the Rev. Donald W. Graff officiating. PLEASE GO DIRECTLY TO THE CHURCH. Clarence J. Gebhart, 87, died Saturday, Sept. 2, 2000, in the St. John's Lutheran Care Center, Mars. Born March 2, 1913, in Pittsburgh, he was the son of the late Joseph and Theresa Gebhart. Mr. Gebhart was a retired butcher and a member of the Mt. Troy Volunteer Fire Company. Survivors include three daughters , Virginia Mikulan, Lois Texler and Janice McGee; two brothers , Joseph Gebhart and Robert Gebhart; three sisters , Getrude Kappeler, Jenny Bauman and Florence Truber; eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Ethel Gebhart; and four sisters , Helen Gebhart, Roberta Gebhart, Theresa Gebhart, and Marie Seis. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday in HUGHES FUNERAL HOME, 1501 Lowrie St., North Side. Christian Funeral Mass will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday in Most Holy Name Church, Reserve, with the Rev. David Schorr as celebrant. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Ross.

Grandmother of Matthew, Gregg, Kurt, Pamela and Gary Goga and Stacie Starzynski. Great-grandmother of Nicholas, Danny and Michael Goga, and Anthony and Michael Starzynski.
