BRANDON D. YODER
SALISBURY, Pa. - Brandon Dalemar Yoder, 1 week old, son of Kevin and Shelly (Lindeman) Yoder, 2009 Springs Road, Salisbury, died Saturday, August 2, 1997, at Ruby Memorial Hospital, Morgantown, W.Va.
Brandon was born on July 26, 1997, in Cumberland, Md.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by a sister, Katrina; maternal grandparents, Ezra and Mary Yoder, Grantsville, and Dale Lindeman, Meyersdale; paternal grandparents, Marvin and Cora Anna Yoder, Salisbury; paternal great- grandmother, Martha Yoder, Grantsville.

Friends will be received at the Newman Funeral Home, Grantsville, on Sunday from 7 to 9 p.m.

Services will be conducted at the Cherry Grove Church of the Brethren on Monday at 2 p.m. with the Rev. David McKinney officiating.

Interment will be in Grantsville cemetery.

VIRGINIA L. YODER
HOLLIDAYSBURG, Pa. - Virginia Lee ``Yodie", 73, of Spring Manor Apartments, formerly of Cumberland, died Thursday, May 15, 1997, at Altoona Hospital.
Born Nov. 2, 1923, in Cumberland, she was the daughter of the late Carl and Mabel (Wolford) Goetz. She married Norman S. Yoder, Sept. 27, 1942, in Pinto.

Mrs. Yoder was a member of the Pinto Mennonite Church, Cumberland, and also attended the First United Methodist Church, Hollidaysburg.

She formerly worked as a matron at the Blair County Prison and as a babysitter in the community for many years. She was a graduate of Allegany High School, Cumberland.

Surviving, in addition to Norman S. Yoder, Cumberland, are a son, Daniel Yoder, Stevens City, Va.; a daughter, Norma Slavin, Altoona; two brothers, George Goetz, Cumberland, and Carl Goetz Jr., Florida; a sister, Jane Keefauver, Cumberland; and six grandchildren.

Friends will be received at the Sorge Funeral Home, Hollidaysburg, on Saturday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., and at the First United Methodist Church, Hollidaysburg, on Sunday from 2 to 3 p.m.

Services will be held at the First United Methodist Church, Hollidaysburg, Sunday at 3 p.m. with the Rev. William H. Barr officiating.

Interment will be in New St. Mary's cemetery, Hollidaysburg.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the First United Methodist Church Building Fund.

FRANKIE M. SIMPSON
HYNDMAN, Pa. - Frankie Mae Simpson, 80, of Hyndman, died Monday, March 10, 1997, at Pennknoll Village Nursing Home, Bedford.
Born June 16, 1916, in Ellerslie, Md., she was a daughter of the late Daniel Ross and Frankie Mae (Critchfield) May. She also was preceded in death by a brother, Russell W. May; and a nephew, Lynn R. May, who lived with the Simpsons for 26 years.

On Aug. 15, 1936, at Moorefield, W.Va., she married the Rev. James H. Simpson, who survives. Also surviving are a brother, the Rev. R. Eugene May, Glen Burnie, Md.; a sister, Marian E. Christner, Hyndman; and 23 nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Simpson was a member of Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church, Lothian, Md. She attended First Avenue United Methodist Church, Hyndman, since returning to Hyndman in 1980. She was very active in this church and belonged to its Annie Horner Bible Class. Mrs. Simpson loved music and enjoyed writing short stories and poems.

Friends will be received at the Harvey H. Zeigler Funeral Home, Hyndman, on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., and at the church for one hour prior to the service.

Services will be conducted at the First Avenue United Methodist Church, Hyndman, on Thursday at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Roger Johnson and the Rev. Julie Applegate officiating.

Interment will be in the Hyndman cemetery.

Memorials may be sent to the Hyndman Area Rescue Squad, Hyndman, PA 15545.

MELANIE J. SINGLETON
HYNDMAN, Pa. - Melanie Jane Singleton, 39, of Hyndman, died Wednesday, Oct. 29, 1997, at her residence.
Born April 2, 1958, in Cumberland, she was the daughter of Frederick A. Singleton, Cumberland, and Melanie (Wilmot) Humbertson, Bedford.

Miss Singleton was Baptist by faith. She was an animal care specialist and loved riding and caring for horses. She was a member of the American Cockatiel Society. She had attended Fort Hill High School and was an avid bingo player.

In addition to her parents, surviving are her stepfather, Roy Humbertson; one brother, Brion A. Singleton, Honolulu, Hawaii; one sister, Darlene S. Roach, Hyndman; two stepbrothers, Greg Humbertson, Stevens City, Va., and Joey Humbertson, Mount Savage; one stepsister, Tammy Humbertson, Garrett County; niece and nephew, Amy and Adam Roach; great-niece and great-nephew, Kaylee and Joshua Jacobs; godchild, Tanya Ashenden; special friends, Gary Morris and sons, Gary and Billy; and Fred Propst and his children, Diane and Cody.

Friends will be received at the George-Upchurch Funeral Home, 202 Greene St., Cumberland, on Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

Funeral services will be conducted at the funeral home on Monday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Julie L. Applegate officiating.

Interment will be in Hillcrest Burial Park.

LENA M. SISLER
HYNDMAN, Pa. - Lena Margaret Sisler, 82, of Hyndman, died Saturday, Oct. 11, 1997 at Sacred Heart Hospital, Cumberland.
Born Jan. 15, 1915 at Hyndman, she was a daughter of the late Blair W. and Laura Bell (Kennedy) Ritchey. She also was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Allan F. "Bud" Sisler, on June 5, 1990; two brothers, William B. and Jack E. Ritchey; and two sisters, Mary E. Smith and Ruth V. Crabtree.

Surviving are a son, Kenneth L. "Jake" Ritchey and wife Pauline, Mount Savage; six grandchildren, Kenneth L. Ritchey, Jr., Michael L. Ritchey, Sharron A. Ritchey, Gail A. Dick, Cynthia M. Westwood, and Dana M. Davis; twelve great-grandchildren; three brothers, John I. Ritchey, Canton, Ohio, Robert C. Ritchey, and Donald C. Ritchey, both of Hyndman; and five sisters, Maude L. Hordubay, R.D. 1, Manns Choice, and Ethel M. Waltman, Pearl C. Miller, N. Audrey Sisk, and Erma Jean Conner, all of Hyndman.

Mrs. Sisler was a homemaker and had been employed for 12 years at the Amcelle Plant, Celanese Corporation of America, in Cumberland.

Friends will be received at the Harvey H. Zeigler Funeral Home, Hyndman on Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

Services will be conducted at the funeral home on Tuesday at 3 p.m. with the Rev. Ruth S. Kershner officiating. Interment will be in Hyndman cemetery.

MARGARET B. TICHY
CLEARVILLE, Pa. - Margaret Beatrice Tichy, 92, of Route 3, Clearville, Pa., died Wednesday, Oct. 1, 1997, at the Meadow View Nursing Home, Berlin, Pa.
Born Dec. 27, 1904, in Eckhart, she was the daughter of the late Stephen and Anna (Huber) Briner.

She also was preceded in death by her husband, James Tichy.

She was a member of the Seven Dolors of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church, Beans Cove, Pa.

Survivors include two daughters, Lorraine Eberly and husband Francis, and Kitty Wharran and husband William, both of Clearville; four grandchildren, F. Dane Eberly, Lavonne Paden and husband Richard, David Wharran and wife Charlene, and Leann Grapes and husband Wayne; 14 great-grandchildren; and four nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received at the George-Upchurch Funeral Home, 202 Greene St., Cumberland, on Friday from 7 to 9 p.m.

A Christian Wake service will be held at the funeral home on Friday at 8:45 p.m.

Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated at the Seven Dolors of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church on Saturday at 11 a.m. with Monsignor Charles Rager as celebrant.

Interment will be in Sunset Memorial Park.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Seven Dolors of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church, Clearville, Pa. 15535.

FRANKLIN R. TWIGG
HYNDMAN, Pa. - Franklin Roy Twigg, 78, of Hyndman, died Tuesday, April 29, 1997, at Allegany County Nursing Home, Cumberland.
Born June 14, 1918, at Wiley Ford, W.Va., he was a son of the late George H. Twigg and Mary Jane (Kerns) Betts. He also was preceded in death by his wife, Viola G. ``Ode" (Beals) Twigg, on December 19, 1983; and his brother, Gilbert L. Twigg.

Mr. Twigg was retired from the Amcelle Plant, Celanese Corp. of America. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.

Surviving are a son, Charles I. Twigg and wife Alice, Monrovia, Md.,; a foster son, John W. Logsdon and wife Jo Ann, Cumberland; three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; a brother, Franklin Twigg, Florida; and a sister, Gladys Harmon, Baltimore.

Friends will be received at the Harvey H. Zeigler Funeral Home, Hyndman, on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

Services will be conducted at the funeral home on Friday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Gregory Sinclair officiating.

Interment will be in Hyndman cemetery.

THELMA VANCE
CLEARVILLE, Pa. - Thelma Vance, 67, of Route 3, Box 251, Clearville, died Sunday, June 22, 1997, at Sacred Heart Hospital Hospice Unit, Cumberland, Md.
Born Aug. 13, 1929, in Southampton Township, she was the daughter of the late Russell and Zettie (Long) Vance.

Miss Vance was employed by Wendy's Restaurant, Breezewood.

Surviving are one brother, Gene Vance, Clearville; one neice, Jeri Ruth Miller and husband Shane, Hershey; and one aunt Nola Elliott, Cumberland Valley Township.

Friends will be received at the Merritt-Adams Funeral Home, 404 Decatur St., Cumberland, on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

Services will be conducted at the funeral home on Wednesday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Richard Ketterman officiating.

Interment will be in Mount Zion Christian cemetery.

MARIAN V. VANCE
CLEARVILLE, Pa. - Marian Virginia Vance, 64, of Route 3, Box 310, Clearville, died Friday, March 14, 1997, at Sacred Heart Hospital.
Born March 1, 1933, in Flintstone, Md., she was the daughter of the late Marvin Morral and the late Lona (Ketterman) Morral. She also was preceded in death by a brother, Wade Morral, in 1993.

Mrs. Vance was an active member of the Glendale Church of the Brethren, Flintstone.

Surviving are her husband of 43 years, Gene Vance; a daughter, Jeri Ruth Miller and husband Shane, Hershey; four sisters, Georgia Struckman, Ruth Crabtree, Thelma Allee and husband Bill, and Helen Long and husband Paul, all of Cumberland, Md.; five brothers, Roy Morral, Cumberland, Wilbur Morral and wife Marie, Oldtown, Md., Marvin Morral, Oldtown, Virgil Morral and wife Dorothy, Flintstone, and Cain Morral, Flintstone; a sister-in-law, Agnes Morral, Cumberland; and 18 nieces and nephews.
